When was the last time humans DIDN'T hate each other with a passion?

In a world of finite resources, there has always been fierce competition between different groups, "us" versus "them", the exact standards that define the difference being subject to change and irrelevant. That is how it was, that is how it is, and that is how it always will be. Even if humanity reduced itself to androgynous clones with a hivemind, they would still find a way to divide in rival groups of more and less orthodox androgynous hiveminded clones that would continue to fight each other.

Since there is obviously nothing that can be done about people hating other people, I find it's best to just embrace things as they are, to care just about one group you are the most closely affiliated with to the exclusion of everyone else. Being a bleeding-heart do-gooder and trying to show sympathy to everyone fundamentally accomplishes nothing and just ends up bringing disappointment.

If you feel the desire to do good, do it to the people who actually matter in your life and accept that you cannot help everyone. And more importantly, recognize that not everyone you wish to help shares the same sentiment about you, there being many who will seek to undermine your efforts to their benefit, and at your expense.

Humans naturally group together by ideology, race, ethnicity, culture and language.

Nothing has changed, only it's visibility on the internet. Anonymity means the veneer of civilization and social politeness is gone. The 'hateful' people, such as myself, are everywhere. They just aren't as visible in real life because of the potential consequences of stating those opinions.
