Thread for Gamers VIII: Revenge of the Sh**

Postby Wisconsin9 » Mon Sep 12, 2016 6:11 am

Because someone suggested it, Thread for Gamers the First, Thread for Gamers the Second, Thread for Gamers the Third Second, Thread for Gamers the Fourth, Thread for Gamers the Fifth, Thread for Gamers the Sixth, and Thread for Gamers the Seventh. Man, we really go through 'em, don't we?

Image

With that out of the way, a by no means exhaustive list of the various gaming threads on A&F:
Paradox Games
League of Legends
Star Wars (not gaming specific)
Pokemon
Fallout
Wargaming.net
Minecraft
Steam
Warhammer/40K
Trans' Kaiserreich playthrough
GTA
Civ VI
Hearthstone
TF2
No Man's Sky
DOOM

And... that's all of them. From the first three pages. List will maybe occasionally have additions made, and almost certainly never have items removed.

Okay that's it, I've been too productive today already. I'ma go play Overwatch, I'll work on it some more later or tomorrow or eventually.

I'm a huuuuuuugggggeeeeeee gamer, I play all the Minecraft mini games

But seriously, I wouldn't really consider myself a "gamer" because lately, I haven't been playing as many video games I have in the past. My favorite series is the Halo series and I love gaming

My best friend loves Halo and plays on PC and Xbox One. Halo is probably his biggest game franchise.

Personally I have gone back to platformers. I have been playing Freedom Planet, Shovel Knight and pillaging my retro collection for other titles as well as my Sonic Collection.

I also enjoy fighters(Capcom mostly, Street Fighter and MvC) Kart style racing games and RPGs. A few adventure games as well. The game I have owned for so long and never really had a chance to dig into is Xenoblade Chronicles X just for lack of time.

Bayonetta 1 and 2 is on my waiting list and I just bought Starfox Zero. Have not had a chance to play it though.
My RP Nation is the Islamic Republic of Alamon

I enjoyed Halo until Halo 4. Still haven't completed it (but I did watch a friend play basically the whole game, especially the ending anyway).

Not sure how much of this is feeling like the Halo titles became somewhat stale mechanically, and dull in their story, and how much is because I am priced out of Halo 5 or 6, given that they're next gen titles.
For quite a long time, between ODST and Reach, I started turning off to the games a little because I got so into the lore and the EU books.

Once you read a Halo story and see what the Spartans are supposed to be capable of, and then play literally any Halo title, the game feels inherently boring.

I've said it twenty million times since the Doom E3 gameplay footage, but Doom is how Halo should always have been, going by the EU material.

I personally enjoyed Halo 4, but felt Halo 5 stumbled with its story and felt like two games (in terms of story archs) thrown into one, and was not really what it was advertised as, i.e the whole Locke vs Chief aspect, but i did enjoy the latter half of the campaign more than the first half and i enjoyed the multiplayer.

Bungie still owes me an apology blowjob for the cancerous canon mess that was Reach.

I enjoyed reach a lot, both the single player (yeah it did go against some of the stuff in the book, but i really did not care) and the multiplayer. In fact its MP is my favourite Halo mp out of all of them.

I enjoyed Reach, honestly its the last Halo game I played. Unless you count Halo Wars. I went from 360 to Wii U so I have not kept up with Halo, but in all honestly I am a casual Halo fan at best. It's just my go to for FPS when not playing a Nintendo, then I try to find the best 007 game available for the console if available.

It was a more than fun enough game, and perfectly enjoyable campaign.
It just mashed so many existing canon elements together that it just felt insulting.

I think my XBL bio still claimed to be part of a Halo clan of vehicle drivers until I changed it to be tank-related due to both BF4 and WoT a year ago.
