Background: Hart Island Research Facility is a Green Science Research Pact lab site researching algae-based biofuels, primarily the genetic modification and recombination for the purposes of increased efficiency. Their primary focus was on Ghost-In-Sea, a breed of bioluminescent algae native to Atnaia, and modifying it for the purposes of increased chemical efficiency and more rapid breeding. This led to unforeseen success and then disaster as the facility was forced to be placed under quarantine when the Ghost-In-Sea modification began going out of control, and managed to begin breeding in bodily fluids, leading it to become an air and water-borne contagion. This was kept under wraps by both the GSRP and the Atnaian government. SOAR, an Asoro-Anarchist terror group originally from Atnaia and profoundly against the Atnaian government, managed to get into the facility after the quarantine and acquired samples of the Ghost-In-Sea for their own purposes, which a cell of the group has reworked into a feasible bioweapon. Looking to make a threat, they attacked the cargo ship Adirondack to test the weapon and prove what it is capable of. They will soon announce their intent to unleash similar albeit larger weapons in nations around the region unless various governments gives into a list of demands. It will be up to various individuals to track them down and stop them before this can happen.

OOC: So we can plan here. Please describe your interest and what you hope to get out of this RP. Other than some basic ideas, I don't have much of a specific plan here, so we can work together to really tailor this to our needs.

I want to try my luck in recruiting of informants and questioning of individuals, technical analysis of the weapon and SOAR's production capabilities, tapping of phone communication and infiltrating into secret meetings. In my mind I have a scene of a person standing on a dock at night, smoking, meeting a scared informant, giving him some cash and receiving in return a list of names and phone numbers... I imagine folks from my technical analysis unit sitting around a drawing of a bio-weapon device for hours, trying to understand the mechanics of it and how they can sabotage its production or delivery.

Sure, but remember how SOAR is laid out: a bunch of independent cells operating separately to their own plans under the banner, name and philosophy of the greater organization. Just having an undercover agent in a cell won't necessarily provide you any info beyond what that cell specifically is doing.

1. The information on the Adirondack incident gets to the Atnaian government, which alerts other governments, mine included, and some start investigating.
2. There's a SOAR cell in Ostehaar or in Lovsk which has some ties to the cell which has the weapon, and my intelligence services learn about the weapon "by accident" since they were following that cell.
3. There's a similar attack against an Oster vessel (or an attack against any vessel in the Eterna Sea) and my intelligence services start investigating.
4. Someone from the Oster team at the GSRP knows about the fact that SOAR got a sample and he tells this to my government, prompting an investigation.

I'm perfectly fine with it. Possibly it slips through intelligence but is caught by the third fleet which is locking down the Wake Islands currently, could use that for something in the story if you want, whether it is to go off on one of my vessels or caught and sent to the GSRP for study on possible countermeasures, etc.

There's something cool about using the GSRP, which should be a peaceful science initiative, as a de-facto technical adviser to the government in a counter-terrorism effort.

I'd be willing to have the Skaitsyan branch of SOAR launch an attack on one of Rjansya or even Skaitsya (the Šeme) itself? I don't want to be too involved though, I don't have all that much time. Maybe 1-5 posts about the attack and quarantine, then I'll be out?
