God / Goddess' Name: Yill Wa, Divine Lady of Motherhood and Fertility, Midwife to Maid and Shebeast, Lady of the Black Soil, Great Mother, Guardian of the Young

Appearance: Yill Wa appears as a small, matronly and oddly beautiful (think the famous marble bust of Cleopatra) woman dressed in long flowing robes of green. Her eyes are a dazzling violet. Her hair appears to be long and silky, and it possesses a quality which is undefinable and makes it so that gazing upon it is both wonderful and terribly perplexing. Her skin is a deep black, like the colour of the most fertile soil. She does not adorn herself with much finery. She is always clean and goes about walking without shoes. Her hands, limbs and fingers are all dainty yet tough and worn. She can also appear as a glowing and floating heart, a pelican or as small colourful songbird.

Chosen Domain: Motherhood, Fertility

Brief Bio: One of the most ancient and important goddesses, Yill Wa was born to serve as the mother of all the things that live. Every progenitor of each creature came from her womb. After suffering through the tiring process of giving birth to and nurturing so many creatures she withdrew to the heavens to watch over all the mothers and the children of her children. Everywhere mothers pray to her for fertility, healthy and safe children, and successful births. People often visit her shrine in their villages to ask for guidance from the great mother, when theirs is unavailable. As a result of her kind, compassionate, dutiful, yet no-nonsense personality she is happy to do all of this. Farmers pray to her as well, for she is the one who makes the soil good for growing.

Name of Sect's Location: The Womb of the World (or just the Womb, or in the liturgical language of her sect [Motherspeak] Xi Hsi Wa Zhe)

Description of Sect Location's Area: It is said that all roads lead to The Womb, a massive temple complex where many of the Priests of Yill Wa reside, including the leader of her sect - the Elder Matron. The complex can be travelled to from almost anywhere in the world. It is positioned close to the centre, in the middle of a quiet hollow cut by a great river which flows into a tranquil lake. There, on the shores of the lake, The Womb of the World has resided since the beginning of time, and will continue to do so until the world perishes. It's high clay walls enclose the circular complex, which contains the living quarters of the Priestesses of Yill Wa. As one continues to the centre of the complex, a massive idol to Yill Wa can be found. Within the sacred walls of the complex, there are many non-clerics who do maintenance on the Temple and other jobs. The land around it, called the Hollow, is fertile and populated by docile farmer folk.

Species of People's in Sect's Location: Human

Leader of Sect's Location:The Elder Matron Wa Hu Hsiu

EDIT: Revised APP

God: Bovgeird

Appearance: Is a shapeshifter, likely to appear as whatever the viewer fears most. This would be his true form however: Image

Chosen Domain (max 2): Fear and Madness

Brief Bio: Bovgeird was a minor god before death came. When everything was immortal, fear had no meaning, nor did it have much use and madness faded with time. He was a minor trickster, an afterthought in the scheme of things. But when death became a reality, Bovgeird went from a nuisance to a nightmare, terrorizing the mortals indiscriminately, gleeful to finally have power over them. Indeed, he made many lives miserable, simply because for so long he had no respect. That of course changed, though he was naturally more feared than respected. Eventually, however, he came across a man, Villheilm van Klayn, who he could frighten, but who managed to overcome it, and stand his ground against Bovgeird. This gained Bovgeird’s respect and interest, and so he helped Villheilm unite his people and conquer the whole of the Foglands over the course of decades, cursing his enemies with madness. Over time, Vilheilm and his descendants would come to rule over all the Foglands, with worship of Bovgeird spreading to all corners of the realm, and an official priesthood developing in the shamans.

Bovgeird spends most of his time in the mortal world, as the divine world and underworld offers little of value to him.

Name of Sect's Location: The Fogwood

Description of Sect Location's Area: A massive cloud forest, the Fogwood is almost always covered in a thick fog or mist, with early summer through mid-fall seeing the area flooded by snowmelt, creating a seasonal freshwater swamp. The Fogwood is located on a large plateau at the base of the Crying Mountains, from which 5 rivers extend across the plateau, these rivers being the Loss, Sorrow, Terror, Shiver and Weeping, which further travel outwards beyond the plateau. These rivers split into dozens of smaller bodies of running water, stretching all over the plateau, and are used as the primary means of navigation by the natives. This region is located in the southeast.

Temperatures range from approximately 35 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity is high, extremely so during the summer and early fall. Strong winds often come down from the mountains, though these tend to be strongest during winter and spring. Agriculture is limited, though some berries and leafy vegetables grow well, and herding is popular in the largely dry area in the eastern edge of the plateau. Fishing, fungiculture and hunting are the main sources of food, however. Regarding fungiculture, shamans use certain fungi in their rituals, and these are also consumed by adults during religious festivals. Adults, among the fogmen, come of age at 14 years of age.

The Fogwood is dominated by the Grand Principality of the Fogwood, and the natives are referred to as fogmen. The Grand Principality is a confederation of principalities, with 6 principalities, these being the Sufurmark, the Vezturmark, Svteilend, Torglend, Kernlend and Hokglend. All are ruled by princes, excepting Kernlend which is ecclesiocratic and ruled by the Grand Shaman. Both the Grand Shaman and Grand Prince are elected, the Grand Shamans by the Shamanraadung, or the Council of Shamans, and the Grand Prince by the Princeraadung, or Council of Princes. The Shamanraadung is composed of the chief shamans of each principality, and meets once a year or in times of crisis, if called by the Grand Shaman or in rare cases if called by the Princeraadung. The Princeraadung is composed of the princes or proxies chosen by them, and meets once every 3 months for sessions lasting at least 1 month or if they are called by the Grand Prince or in rare instances the Shamanraadung. Called sessions of the Princeraadung may last as short or long as is necessary to resolve the issue. Votes in both the Princeraadung and Shamanraadung require 5 votes to pass, and their respective heads’ (Grand Prince and Grand Shaman) votes count twice. Election votes in both councils generally begin with a large pool and gradually narrows until there are two choices, though there are outliers.

Species of People's in Sect's Location (plus info if relevant): Humans, largely with pale skin and dark hair. The Fogmen tend to have a dark outlook on life, with a rather macabre sense of humor and gloomy and reserved dispositions. They are, for the most part, slow to trust and slower still to forgive.

Leader of Sect's Location: Grand Prince Fedrik II of House Vilder, Lord of the Fogwood, Prince of the Sufermark and Lord Mayor of Arburgt
Alternatively: Fedrik II of House Vilder, Grand Prince of the Fogwood, Prince of the Sufermark and Lord Mayor of Arburgt

You know I saw that earlier and I don't know how but I completely forgot the first part there when I was writing my app. Probably because he wasn't a magic god at that time. Regardless, I'll edit my app.

No my god is the God of madness. Which in this case refers to insanity. I could see how you're confused though, I posted a revised app and left the old one up. I'll just edit the old one to avoid further confusion.

God / Goddess' Name: Xysnia

Appearance: More Godly Form, Otherwise the form varies, with that one being the most common

Chosen Domain (max 2): Weather, Sky/Atmosphere

Brief Bio: Xysnia. Lord of the sky and commander of weather, Xysnia is a slow methodical thinker. He is a firm beleivr in the doctrine of planning ahead, often doing it centuries and sometimes millenia ahead by planet.

Name of Sect's Location: The Forbidden Heights

Description of Sect Location's Area: The highest mountain in the world, it where worshipers go to be closest to their god, lord of the sky. Sitting atop a plateau about halfway up the mountain is the most high temple of Xysnia, where Ophanim resides, and where followers of Xysnia go to receive guidance. At the base of the mountain is a singular city-state, wherein the current majority of Xysnia's followers reside, and which is named Swupweam. The mountain itself is surrounded by a massive permanent storm cloud, which still manages to allow plenty of light to maintain agriculture. Only those chosen by Xysnia are allowed further up the mountain than the most high temple without being vaporized.

Species of People's in Sect's Location (plus info if relevant): Any. One of the common unique ones is the "Uweo" which sky/cloud nymphs, and direct creations and servants of Xysnia. They look rather like chubby babies.

Leader of Sect's Location: Ophanim. One of the first created of the Uweo, they are the most high priest of this planet.

You should appoint a co-OP. I'd suggest TBA if they'd be okay with that.

You could save the IC for yourself but the more people we can get in the better I'd think.

Unfortunately madness/insanity is taken. You can have a religious sect without a home town but it would be unwise, as this is where your true power resides.

God / Goddess' Name: Jileli

Appearance:
While she is capable of appearing in a number of forms, Jileli’s preferred appearance is that of a woman of unimaginable beauty. Slender and impossibly unblemished, countless mortals have fallen into her whims at the merest sight of her figure. Often dressed in a selection of apparel that seems to both reveal the temptations of the flesh, while painfully hiding all from view as the imagination runs wild, Jileli appears as an icon of vibrant youth. Jileli’s appearance can disarm even the sternest of foes who question the tales of cruelty of the nymph before them.

To lower one’s guard in her presence however, is to court a fate worse than death. Beneath the perfect features and the toying smile, lies a siren that gleefully relishes twisting the desires and pains of mortals for her own enjoyment. For many, the playful smirk and glistening eyes of Jileli accompany the appearance of curving horns from her head, and scaled forearms ending in blood-soaked claws – the alluring smile replaced with a giggling mouth of fangs.

Chosen Domain (max 2): Suffering and Desire

Brief Bio:
Cruel, manipulative and sadistic, Jileli gleefully enjoys meddling in the affairs of mortals and corrupting the followers of her kin. She is narcissistic to the extreme, relishing the worship of mortals and demanding grand monuments and festivals in her honour. A fickle, playful character, Jileli views the mortals as playthings. Fed both by the deepest and darkest desires that fester in the hearts of all mortals, and the indescribable torture of having them taken away, Jileli cares not for notions of mercy, pity or honour, other than twisting those sworn to abide by them against what they hold most dear. While malicious and cunning, Jileli is nothing if not similarly intelligent. She is aware that she cannot directly defy her brethren without consequence, and so amuses herself by toying with their mortals – but she secretly harbors desires of her own, dreams and ambitions of the most fundamental kind: power.

Name of Sect's Location: Naborah, the Qin Caliphate.

Description of Sect Location's Area:
A burgeoning Empire entering into its prime, the Qin Caliphate emerged as a regional powerhouse that united all of the surrounding Emirs and Maliks under the dominion of a single Caliph. Inhabiting the desert lands between the East and the West, the peace brought about by the Caliphate’s victories has brought with it trade and prosperity, setting the stage for the growth of a new global power.

A proud people, the Caliphate has a rich and vibrant culture that holds as one its core tenets the virtue of tolerance. Famed for its attempts to welcome foreign intellectuals and personalities, drawing them to its lands with the promise of friendship and mutual respect, the Caliphate is working to establish itself as a haven for the greatest thinkers and merchants of its time.

The city of Naborah, the capital of the Caliphate, is the centre of this phenomenal growth – its skyline dotted with the spires of grand temples and libraries, along with the Caliphs’ Grand Palace itself. Among all these grand structures, lies the central compound of the Order of the Serpent, standing proud atop its temple mount, dominating the western districts of the city.

The Order consists of Jileli’s most faithful worshippers: priests and priestesses who hold her above all the other Ichor and dedicate their lives to pursuing her teachings and faith. While their main temple lies within Naborah, the Order operates missions and temples throughout the Caliphate and beyond, all of them ultimately answering to the High Priestess. Much of the public image of the Order is their devotion to charity, their missions and temples serving as places of rest and recuperation for travellers as well as the ill and wounded. In addition to this, the Order spreads Jileli’s teachings by offering a sanctuary of tranquillity and rest to visitors. While donations and offerings are expected in return for their services, all are welcomed by the Order – although nobility and aristocrats can often be repeat visitors, granting the Sect a degree of influence.

However, in darker circles the Order is also renowned for its ability to extract information or otherwise render punishment on undesirables. Hired by Generals, Kings and Emirs all for their expertise in such matters, the members of the Orders are feared by those in the know as experts in leveraging both pain and promise to encourage cooperation from those unfortunate enough to face such a fate. Though this is a role which they publicise far less to the wider public, focusing instead on their humanitarian activities.

You could save the IC for yourself but the more people we can get in the better I'd think.

I was thinking of appointing a Co-OP, so if anyone would like to volunteer, I shall gladly hear your piece.

I'm going to close signups now, as there are a lot. I shall still consider apps from those who have already stated an interest however.

I would if no-one else wants to, I'm currently a bit busy IRL, but (hopefully) it'll die down later in the week, I'm sorry I haven't been all that active over the last few days and I'll try and get a post up soon-ish.

I think OP is just extremely busy with school like all of us, I'd go ahead and say you're the OP for practical purposes.

Is the Hamburglar an insurrectionary anarchist? One who martyrs himself through the propaganda of the deed?

I think taking over for the OP just like that may be a Bad Idea, the OP clearly had an idea of where to go with the RP, so i have two suggestions to keep this from dying.
1) One of us TG's the OP, asking how they want the story to progress AND if they are OK with someone taking over OP duties whilst they're busy, we wait for the answer and then go on with the story the OP wants to follow with someone else in acting-OP position until the OP rejoins us.
2) We either start up an IC subthread or just post in the IC thread and have some kind of subplot that we make until the OP comes back to pick up the main plot. Say two sects come into some kind of conflict that drags some more of the Gods into it as they all try and sort it out, or something else that will allow us to do something but can also be returned to the status quo when the OP comes back (and if they don't then we have something else we can do).
