The Moukere National Development Summit [TWI Only IC]

Postby Moukere » Sun Aug 28, 2016 9:54 pm

The Moukere National Development Summit

The nation of Moukere has recently obtained independence from Bhikkustan and is now ready to go out into the world. This brings new opportunities, but new challenges as the nation struggles with poverty and corruption. With little to no agricultural or industrial exports, the Moukeri economy is very weak. Infrastructure is severely lacking all over the archipelago. To solve this General Habariya has decided to host a summit of national development for foreign nations to aid them in their growth.

All nations are welcome to join, as long as they are from TWI. The talks will take place in the International Centre in Capital City of Vertaque.

The Union of Covonant has expressed its interest in assisting the newly independent state of Moukere with financial and infrastructural assistance. The Ministry of International Development and International Trade as been tasked with outlining Covonant's involvement in the new state which the Covonantian Government is interested in also establishing diplomatic and trade relation. The government is however cautious of the island nation, due to its history of violence and its political philosophy, none the less they have agreed to lend greater support and assistance.

Representative of the Covonantian government that will represent the voice and interest of the Union is Mrs. Amanda Antwert, current advisor on International development to the Minister of International Development and International Trade.

Mrs. Antwert had been flying on a private jet rented by the Ministry for this occasion. The flight was long but the runway to the local airport was in sight. Once landed she made her way to disembark, as requested by the Ministry and granted by the Government a few Praetorian Guards were enlisted to protect and secure Mrs. Antwert for the duration of her trip until she had returned to Coventry. She was a bit shocked and disappointed that no one was at the airport to receive her. Luckily the Ministry was a step ahead of things and ensured a vehicle was rented to transport Mrs. Antwert around the Island. The first place she decided to go was the Summit held in the International Centre in the Capital.

Mrs. Antwert was not surprised at the foreign affairs officer remarks of why others might be late. She also noted that the locals were not very verse in English. She saw an opportunity right there in supporting the country's educational system.

"So I have come to experienced. It seems the capital would be in greater need of paved road works. We shall give them time. Do you wish to talk of Covonant's role in the meantime, or rather wait to have a collective conference"

"Covonant is willing to provide financial assistance towards building national services and making improvements towards education, health and security in the country. We are also able to provide building materials to assist with construction of more better paved roadways, schools, hospitals, and homes, this is our investment in the country's future. We are however concerned with the political stability of the country, and would like to know if Covonantian citizens should travel to Moukere for aid work, or setting up business and to provide training in education, health and security, if with your government;s blessing will in no way be harmed?" asked Mrs. Antwert

"Sorry, I am late." Mukunda Karki, the new Athara Magarati ambassador to Moukere apologized as he entered the International Centre in Capital City of Vertaque.

"We were all busy with our Hang's trip to Covonant that we almost forgot my meeting here." Mukunda bowed and apologized again and again.

"That would be perfect thank you!" Said Mshindi happily, "Though about security I advise you bring some guards of your own. The streets can be not the safest at some times, but the political situation is stable, at least. We will be happy to accept your help."

He turned to the Athara Magarati Delegate.

"And you must be Mukunda. I am glad to see you here. Do not worry about lateness. It just matters that you came."

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Where should we start? As you know, we are already helping Simba Moukere Telephonique in developing smartphones and creating employment opportunities for Moukeri people. However we believe that there's more to do for them and Athara Magarat is ready to help Moukere as a friend."

"We will have food supplies, health and education as our top priorities for Moukere. And also we in Athara Magarat, have a saying that 'where there is road, there is development'. The government of Athara Magarat will also provide working visas to capable Moukeri citizens. This will be a win-win situation for both sides as we lack labor force due to our small population. If your government wants, we can also have Athara Magarati military and our Armed Police Force providing training to your security forces."

With a pause, Mukunda smiled. "I believe it will be best if we work together with all other nations and establish trade instead of only aid for Moukere's development."

Mrs. Antwert shook the hand of the Athara Magarathi representative.

"Yes Mr. Karki, Covonant is open to collaborate with other states to assist Moukere as it is a feat we can't accomplish alone. In Covonant we have a few organisations that are equipped to assisting foreign nations, such as the Covish Cares Society, and UCAID (Union of Covonant Aid and International Development) and a key organisation that will oversea our operating in Moukere is the Covonantian International Welfare Trust with the sole duty to assist with provision and rebuilding of critical institutions such as schools, hospitals, and homes for the citizen. The Covonantian International Welfare Trust is a government agency that provides monetary assistance to assist nations in need for infrastructural and agricultural purposes.

For the collaboration to assist Moukere I suggest we set up a similar trust which will both have oversight committees and bodies from our countries and subsequent countries that may wish to come on board." Suggested Mrs. Antwert

"Agreed. Athara Magart also cannot help Moukere alone since we ourselves are just recovering from a recent war. We have the government's AMAID (Athara Magarati Aid and International Development) to help foreign nations in aid and development as well as many NGOs and INGOs willing to work with our and foreign governments. We should set up a Moukere International Trust for Healthcare, Resources and Aid (MITHRA) with permission from the Moukere government to help the citizens, as well as trade with Moukere."

"I have made a record of the discussions had and will present them before my country's parliament to have them sign off to the agreement. I am in total agreement of the naming of that trust Mr. Karki. I do hope my country's government will be in agreement as well noting that we will still be using our national aid and development agencies to assist in the project." expressed Mrs. Antwert

"Also Mr. Mshindi, let us talk on establishing trade, what resources does Moukere possess and what resources is Moukere in dire need of presently?' asked the Covonantian rep.

"That would be appreciated a great amount. Our police need better training, especially in situations that do not involve gunfights. That is all they have known for years and crime is high. We chased the big fish, and the small ones multiplied."

"We can help in that matter." Mukunda tried to smile. "We have one of the best known police in the region: the Armed Police Force of Athara Magarat. They have been instrumental in fighting crime even cybercrimes to the extent that crime is almost non-existent in our socialist nation."
