Lovely.

Would you mind if I switch to the Sniper class? More dedicated support, and the original plan I had.

Beia I'll go sergeant for Unit Bravo if that's okay. It would be fitting to my character to lead.

Name: Gregory Libson
Nickname: Big Sky
Age: 33
Sex: Male
Nationality: English
Appearance:
Image

Rank: Lieutenant
Class: Pilot

Previous Assignment:
• Royal Air Force (2005-2011)
• XCOM (2012-present)

Skills:
A natural born pilot, Libson is skilled in flying most anything with wings from jet aircraft to rotorcraft. Loyal to his commanding officer and to the troops on the ground. Optimistic.

Weakness:
Reckless in his bravery.

Personality:
ESFP. Libson is calm, easy to get along with, and not too serious no matter the situation. Social and enjoys a good laugh. Likes to show off whenever he can. Gets bored easily. Lives day to day and has no plans for the future and so enjoys every moment as if it were his last.

Bio:
Gregory Libson is a skilled pilot hailing from northeastern England, having served with the RAF since 2005 and having toured Afghanistan twice. A troublemaker, he knows just how much to skirt the line to refrain from being severely reprimanded, though his record will show that this was not always the case. He was threatened with dishonorable discharge at least once in his military career. In 2011 he and three others were scrambled to intercept an unidentified aircraft on low approach and came into contact with the UFO responsible for the Munich incident. Three RAF Typhoons were shot down while Libson, the final pilot airborne, managed to damage the alien craft, forcing it to retreat to the upper atmosphere. Following this incident he was transferred into XCOM.

Now a test pilot, Libson would aid in the final developments of the Raven Program, however, in late 2013 Libson's aircraft would breakup during a routine flight, forcing the pilot and his WSO to eject. The cause of the accident was deemed a structural failure that had been overlooked during maintenance. Regardless, Libson was pushed into active duty as the pilot of the Skyranger and now goes by the callsign Big Sky.

Once finished my app will be a corporal, but then again I'm not sure that we should have two combat medics in a single squad when we lack one in the other.

That being said, my app's almost done right now, so let me finish it and then we can figure out where I can be placed.
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

The other medic is a squaddie so he'd just be moved to Alpha.

How far have you guys gotten with the games? And has anyone played the original XCOM? I'm thinking of getting it because it is apparently MUCH more challenging than its Firaxis successors.

I've beaten Enemy Within and the original UFO Defense.

With the really old ones, you will have to read the manual because it is very not user-friendly. I'd also recommend OpenXcom as that does a world of wonders for the game.
I don't know what I'm s'posed to do.

So,uh, any empty place? I might join in, but after making sure if this one is going to be active?
(This time though, i'll try to be as gritty and serious,no humour guy)

Edit : Regarding the game, i've finished it. Haven't played the 2nd one, though. It'll roast my pc.(And even the EU-EW kinda taxing for it)

If you're just getting into the games, I'd recommend the Firaxis games to start, preferably Enemy Within. I've beaten the original, Enemy Unknown, Enemy Within, and X2.

Don't start with XCOM 2, though. XCOM 2 is considerably more difficult than Enemy Within. Unless you play with Mods (I highly recommend Stormtrooper aim for the ADVENT troopers), it'll whoop a new player's ass.

Also, working on my app. Might take a little time.

No no, I've beaten all the Firaxis games I was just wondering what your XCOM experiences were like.

And @Kentucky was OpenXCOM a remaster or a spiritual successor like the Firaxis games?

There's an open slot in Unit Bravo. One it's filled the OP will post the IC.

And I sure do hope it will be active XCOM is a great setting for an RP.

Remaster, kind of. It's an open source mod of the original, so you need the legal version of the original. It's like 5 bucks on Steam though, so I'd buy it. OpenX-Com just works out a lot of the kinks in the original, and makes it 10x better.

I hope everyone here is a fan of Beags Teasedale.

And I hope it's not too late for another app! It's WIP for the moment.
Name: Olivier Z. Warren
Nickname: Sleepy
Age: 23
Sex: M
Nationality: American
Appearance: Olivier is a young half-Asian, half-white male standing at 178 cm tall, weighing around ~76 kg, usually more but depending on how much he ate for breakfast. Medium length, messy black hair and dense stubble covering his lower face (although will get a begrudging haircut upon request). Skin is pale white. Eyes are brown and sleepy looking. Features are narrow and intellectual. Body is slender but well muscled. Generally looks quite tired, regardless of actual energy levels. Has an expression of 'not this shit again' constantly. Tends to be seen with a something in his mouth, usually small objects; toothpicks, matches, short pencils, gum, etc. Slouches a lot. Tends to wear heavy clothing indoors as he gets cold easily.

Rank: Squaddie
Class: Rifleman
Weapon: Assault Rifle
Gear: Flash Grenades, Smoke Grenades

Previous Assignment: Oregon National Guard (1998-2008), served 1 tour in Iran as an Engineer, receiving a bronze star and a purple heart.
Skills:
    > Adaptable: Like the role he fulfills, Olivier is has a varied skill set and wide range of abilities on the battlefield. Sure, he may not be the best, but he is a jack of all trades. Should the need arise, he can use specialized gear with some level of competency and has an easy time following orders that don't seem to make sense.
    > Mechanical Empathy: No one is quite sure how, whether by his formal engineering training or some unseen gift, machines seem to work better around Olivier or have their problems resolved more easily. He knows these beasts of steel and wire, and has tamed them. Or that's how he likes to think about it, anyhow.
    > Brave: Inspiration is found where it is sought, and for Olivier, he find his fire in bravery and the power of the human will. The list is numerous, but above all, Olivier sees heroism and bravery in all it's forms the very strength of human beings, whether through acts of great valor or great passion. It doesn't matter to him whether he'll be remembered or not. First in, last out.
Weakness:
    > Strange Habits: Why does he wake early in the morning, only to lay on the floor and fall asleep again? Why occasionally take reading breaks in restroom stalls? Why does he tie knots in his computer cables, only to untie them minutes later? Why does he chew on pencils like a bored dog? Why does he run a gravure website in his free time? Why does he mutter in his sleep about strange things and stranger people? Frozen blueberries in breakfast cereal? Eat salt? His odd habits and rituals can go some way to alienate him from his brothers in arms during the off hours, or even be distasteful to some.
    > Wannabe Hero: Ever since he was very very young, his dreams were of becoming a hero like the legends of mythology and history, matching them in what he can accomplish rather than fame. This leaning towards the brave and the bold got him into much hotter water than he is willing to admit when he was growing up. During combat operations, he tends to be almost excessively mindful of collateral damage, and has a hard time focusing when he knows civilians or a fellow soldier is in danger. His bravado nearly got him killed before, and he may not be so lucky next time.

Personality: Olivier is generally quite agreeable to be around, with a dry sense of humor and a compassionate and hopeful outlook on life.
