Lets start off with the "XXX" - if you are wondering what that is, it is where USS, HMS, or whatever your nation uses in its place.
Next we dissect the "Name". Personally, I find naming your ships to be one of the most fun parts of the process. It can be whatever you want, from Leviathin to Panther or even Big Hairy Dude (but I wouldnt choose that last one!).
The type of your ship. This is both confusing and straitforward. If you're asking, "What's the difference between class and type?" the answer is: the type of your ship is like "battleship" "dreadnought" "corvette" et cetera.
Now its time to choose your image. Boy oh boy, this is, BY FAR, my favorite thing to do... go ahead, search up google, Bing, off-site forums, or what-have-you, just find the awesomest, sweetest image for your ship out there! By all means, you can draw it, too, just remember to upload it to a site like imgur, tinypic, or postimg.
Ship length: this is pretty easy, just search up (standard or not) ship/moon/planet sizes.
Crew: you can determine this really any way you want. Use a random number generator if you so desire. Lol.
I think Weapons is pretty straitforward. Just remember, if you aren't describing the weapons in this factbook, link to the one that is.
Ah, the good old description. Here is where you go into detail, describing your ship from port to starboard, fore to aft. This can also be a place to describe the battles the particular ship was or is in.
