I added about 250 cities to the map. Some I didnt include because they were to squished with other cities. I am trying to figure out where the water needs to go. I am only including fresh water. And then I need to do resources.

FT, but roam where i please
It does not reflect my real life world political views, which are considerably less authoritarian and more moderate
Refer to my factbook for canon, it´s however out of date, and badly written. So take it with a grain of salt

Oof. So many new RP's of this kind.

And just as I was preparing one too.

Also you should credit Tristates for the OP format. Unless you got it somewhere else?

I've added
-Type 1 Resources (Lumber)
-Type 2 Resources (Iron, Aluminum, Lead, Copper, Concrete) I had to include so many because if I would have just done Iron and Copper, all the iron would be up north and nearly every copper mine would be in Arizona. Just for balance I had to add so many more.
-Water, As in rivers, lakes.
-Farmland, for food production.
-Oil fields, for ... oil. You need it to move across the map with vehicles. Some use more than others.
-Military bases/Armory's/Depots, for military grade loot like small arms and Tanks and other things. (An example is the M1A2 Abrams, this can only be scavenged from military bases and not re-produced by any faction. Light tanks will be available to factions who can afford the metal resources and such. Also it is important to note that oil is needed to restore and operate tease Tanks.)
-240 of the largest cities in the USA have been added as loot'able locations.
-50 of the countries largest industrial city's have been given "factory's" You can restore them for bonuses or you can break them down to use them for a large amount of scrap.
-Salt mines have been added. (Salt will be used for a wide group of things, from in game currency to food preservation.)
-The Us population is knocked to around 56,000 meaning factions will only contain a few thousand people at the most, in the majority of cases. So human bodies are one of the most important resources you will need to manage.
-The year will be set 50 years after "The Great Dying" event. The year will be 2063.
-fields have been added as loot'able locations.
-The building tree has been finished and is being revised.
-The history is near completion and is currently being revised bit by bit, by RP group staff.
-Movement Mechanics are still being tested but we are confident we can utilize google maps and mathematical estimations to estimate how long it will take players to navigate from one place to the other on the RP map.
-Units are being tested and new ideas re being played around with.
-To solidify all mechanics in this RP we will soon be releasing this RP to a small group of tester for a two week long period to test every function of the RP.
-Some things we expect to revise are Units, Buildings, Combat mechanics,Trade mechanics and mining.
-Coal may or may not be added.
-Water levels have been raised by 216 feet. This was done to keep players closer together. This means Florida and most of the east coast is sunk along with parts of the west coast.
-We intend to make food far more difficult to obtain when we start the game but at the moment it is fairly common.
-Population happiness mechanic is due to be revised but I am happy to report that I is working well so far.
-A name for the RP has not be selected yet but we are working on it.

Thank you very much,

Ava

So, I have this idea, in the early stages:

There is an empire, under assault by supernatural forces (this was partly inspired by a Cthulu board game I recently played, so expect otherworldly occult forces gathering strength). The kingdom consists of a capital city and many settlements, each one controlled by a player. The Capital has wealth, protection, military forces, and technology, and control of the trade in the nation. The settlements produce the requires and have the population for conscription armies, but are vulnerable by themselves.

Basic idea is that the Capital player does not have the resources or armies to defend all the settlements, especially early on. This player must choose which settlements are most in need of protection, while the settlement players must try to lobby for protection from the capital or try to fend for themselves despite the odds. As the tide of darkness grows, settlements may fall (as an incentive to keep playing, perhaps defeated settlements become allies of the occult?), which makes it harder to keep the economy going. Settlements can also choose to break off from the kingdom of they lose faith with it, losing the benefits of protection and access to resources from other parts of the kingdom, but gaining increased versatility in actions, such as training their own advanced military units, and maintaining full control over their own resources.

Presumably, the games ends when either the kingdom is overrun, or when it manages to meet certain criteria to achieve victory.

What do you think? Interest? Ideas?

also, advertising an rp for a friend. "a pseudo-post-apocalyptic (civilization is being rebuilt, think The Last of Us or even Maze Runner), where our characters are enrolled into an academy that trains them to neurally link with independent semi-sentient robots that take the form of animals. Inspiration. We guard against the mutated masses. More to follow on how the plot would develop."

Hello again everyone.

I would like to start a good old-fashioned mechanical roleplay, but I have way too many ideas and leftover games that weren't even tested, so maybe you guys could help me out decide which one to go for: (Low complexity are games with rulebook below 30k characters, Medium complexity is 30k-60k characters, Heavy games have rules over 60k (Can't fit in one post!))

RP NAME - COMPLEXITY - LENGTH - PREMISE - HISTORY

4X Strategy

Spark of/Last/Lost Civilization(s)/Trip Through Time - Light/Heavy(Multiple variants) - 3 months to 1 year - Start out with a small tribe in prehistoric times, explore land, expland your settlements, exploit resources, research techs, fight wars, advance through the ages, that sort of thing... - Was Played... a lot, could use some fine-tuning though.

Last Colonies - Heavy - 3 to 6 months - Start out with the remnants of the human race on an alien planet. This one has SMAC style unit designing, social engineering, secret projects and economics - Was played once, the new (streamlined) version is yet to be played though.

Aether Wind - Heavy - 3 to 6 months - Yet another 4x. This one is pretty detailed on the economics and warfare side, Steampunk solar system setting, inter-planetary war and colonization. - Its test run failed miserably.

Exudus - Ultra-Heavy - God knows how long - Was meant as a follow-up for last colonies. Same as Aether wind but with less steampunk, less bookkeeping and more unit design. Sadly, its unfinished.

Homeworld - Medium - 2 to 3 months - The remnants of humanity voyage through space in search of a new home. Each player is in charge of a mothership that's part of a fleet bound together by a single warp-drive. Cooperative-ish.

Geopolitics

New World Order - Medium - 2 to 3 months - Lead nations through the maelstorm of the XXIth century. Has cool simulation stuff for economics, politics, warfare and global warming, although its a bit random. - Never Played

Character based

Alien vs Predator - Medium - A week (per 'area') - A group of space marines (each marine RPed by separate player) investigate a remote outpost (or something). While at it, they get jumped by aliens (each alien being a separate player). Lots of action. Multiple levels. - Never played.

There is plenty more but I don't have time to list them all.

I figured you would vote for that. I would also prefer it as its new version can run without a game-master keeping track of secret orders. Not only is it less work for me, but Maybe I could even join in this time in a meaningful way.

Honestly, I find the background concept of Aether Wind to be incredibly interesting.

If it doesn't get chosen, I might actually end up writing my own mechanics for the concept. Suitably abstracted, of course.
