ORGANIZATION

INTEGRATED BASIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
Established on April 17, 2003, the PNPU-IBED offers a wide range of quality education. The primary education, handled by the Integrated Basic Education Department or IBED offers primary education for children in the Kindergarten up to Grade 12.

The last batch of Elementary students (Grade 6 Students) who graduated under the old Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) of DepEd was the Batch 2011. Also, the High School students (4th Year Students, now Grade 10) who graduated under the old Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) of DepEd was the Batch 2011.

All students of these institutions undergo Citizenship Advancement Training or commonly known as CAT, while the students from first to third year level undergo scouting under the Boy Scouts of Pekweng (BSP) for the boys and the Girl Scouts of Pekweng (GSP) for the girls. The scouting program aims to instill nationalism and discipline among the students while the CAT aims to introduce students to the National Service Training Program that college students undergo.

Aside from the basic and major subjects, all undergraduate students are required to take 15 units (tuition-free) of Theology classes. The students are also required to attend 4 physical education classes, and a choice from among ROTC, Civil Welfare Training Service (CWTS), and Literacy Training Service (LTS).

HIGHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS AND EXCHANGES
As a highly internationalist institution with a deep focus on expanding the focus and horizons of our students, PNPU is dedicated to the establishment of close working relationships with a variety of institutes and organisations both within and without Pekweng. Our ties with a large number of prominent establishments, are particularly close, and with our entry into the international stage it is our intent to extend the opportunity to form such relationships to similar entities overseas. From universities to foundations, we will consider each and every request and offer made to us in the interests of bringing the countless benefits offered by an institution such as ours to the wider world and those within it who would make use of them.

PNPU currently maintains three primary patterns of international partnership.

> Joint Degrees - Established at the postgraduate level, the University is willing to consider and construct two-and-two year courses spent at Pekweng and a separate institution of higher education abroad in pursuit of specific postgraduate qualifications with the opportunity for travel and variety as an integral part of the learning experience.

> Exchange Programs - Either for undergraduate students or faculty, the University would be interested in establishing exchange programs between the PNPU and a separate institution of higher education abroad with the intent to foster further understanding of our respective nations in those involved in resultant programs and provide opportunities of a similar nature to those accommodating such students or staff. Undergraduate students would complete a year abroad prior to beginning their full undergraduate studies at Pekweng, while staff would be sent abroad for individually agreed periods of time on short or medium term tenures.

> Scholarship Foundations - Foreign entities are invited to establish bursary programs for talented overseas students at the University. Of course, given the relatively limited spaces available for overseas students, such programs would cover one or two students apiece; however, for those involved, it would create a valuable opportunity to further access to a world-class institute of tertiary education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Applications for international partnerships have not been formalised. Those interested are invited to write an open letter to the University on behalf of those who are to play the hosting party describing the nature of the program they wish to establish, and a short description of what their program entails.

Upon further request, a basic form has been created for those who desire a more formalised system of application. Utilising it is entirely optional; those applying to establish programs are welcome to utilise the form or pen an open letter.
