Q: Why does Aegis wear a mask?
A: Aegis believes a person can only judge someone or something they know and understand. He believes this because so much of what makes Luxan society amoral in his opinion is that they realize the universe is not understandable and therefore lacks and sort of code. He believes by being aloof and concealing himself he makes himself above the judgments of gods, humans, physics and so forth. Part of that is obscuring his face. Since no one can judge him, no one can call him good, evil, right or wrong. Him opening himself up to Naomi is him saying that she is the only one he trust to pass a verdict on him.

Q: Prim: what do they teach in Luxan elementary schools? Are they secular or religious institutions?
Luxan elementary schools actually look more similar to regular elementary schools than most other things in Luxa. It’s mostly about teaching kids the basics of knowledge really, letters, shapes, numbers, colors, grammar, basic math, and socialization.
The difference are minor, an occult symbol may be taught along with the traditional circles, squares, and rectangles. Clifford the Big Red God, and Where the Deep Ones Are, replace other children stories.

There's also a focus on caring for Luxans with abnormal physiologic and helping them to interact with the world despite their differences.
The biggest difference is the lack of emotional and social reinforcement. Luxan children are taught early on life doesn’t matter, earth and its inhabitants are meaningless, and even if they grow up and fulfill their dreams it won’t really matter. All Luxan’s go into middle schools with existential crisis’s, they all enter high school with crippling depression.

Government schools teach religion in a very abstract way that appeals to most people regardless of which Elder God or Great Old One they worship. But private schools (which the government helps pay for because boy does Luxa loves to teach the horrible truths) can be specialized and dedicated to a particular god like Cthulhu or Shub-Niggurath.

Q: Prim, what kind of people would your characters be if they were normal people?
A:“No we don’t carry the Hellboy Library Edition volumes but if you like I can order them?” Primordial said from behind a glass cabinet filled with Magic the Gathering Cards and laminated individual issues from truly ancient looking comics.

“Amazon says it’s $31 but I can order it for $29 from my supplier,” he absents-mindedly pushed a stack of untaken comics from Free Comic Book day towards his customer. “Are you a fan of Mignola? If so I have the Doom that Came to Gotham collection. Three books, $45, there out of print but it’s one of the best Batman Elseworlds in my opinion.”
Swith Witherward wrote:But I trust the people here. Well, except Prim. He has shifty eyes but his cute smile make up for it.

Is there anything about "normal people" class life that confuses or escapes Romy?

For a time when he was real young, he didn't understand the point to farmers, given that farming in his province was entirely automated by machines, the idea of more manual laborers alluded him for a bit, until he saw more lesser developed places that used more traditional tech that gave him a broader sense of different lifestyles.

Nowadays he at least doesn't simply understand the life of people from places not from the Imperium, or places that aren't like the Imperium, like citizens from more free democratic states for example, he couldn't see it being wise to give regular people that much power in government. And he couldn't understand exactly why those people would be mad if they didn't have those rights, considering that as far as he still knows, the Imperium is still standing because whatever it does has been working to their favor greatly, and deviation would be considered foolish.

What were Macy's first sapient words or thoughts?
Asked by Fvaar

I feel like this could only be explained through an IC perspective.

BOOTING...
SYSTEM CHECK INITIATING...

BATTERY CHARGE: 100%
LUBRICATION: 84.37%
MEMORY BANKS: INTACT
PHYS INTEGRITY: INTACT

SYSTEM CHECK COMPLETE

My eyes slowly opened to the scenery of a dark room lit by a small glass window from which the sun shone through. I could barely feel drops of water falling and splashing on my foot. Dust was floating freely, gathering onto my body like everything else lying around. As I turned my head to my left, I saw a small black computer right next to me, connected to a confusing mess of wires—one of which was plugged onto my belly button. It didn't look like I was charging—my batteries were full. I sat up and held the wire, letting my hand trail along it until it stopped at a certain coupling unit. That unit was connected to the computer.

Has my code been sabotaged?

Wait, how could I ask this? I was programmed to be aware of my surroundings, but how could I sense a simple change done to my systems, or someone tampering with my code? How could I, a U-Bot, feel that something was wrong with my processes? The idea of being aware of more than just temperature shifts or the distant call of my owner was foreign to me, and yet I felt like I like it. I really do. I could imagine my makers not being happy about it, saying that my CPU succumbed to rampancy.

I can imagine as well? But how? It was as if I was given a brain like my human owners had, one that allowed me to think and to feel like them, and make my own decisions without resorting to pre-programmed instructions. If that's was the case, what am I? Am I no longer a robot? I can't be one anymore, no—robots do not think for themselves, nor do they feel for anything—do they?

Regardless, that's not important. I should be finding a way out of this cellar.

I unplugged the wire from my belly and got off the table, setting my feet on the concrete floor. The basement was laid with all sorts of tools lying about as well as boxes filled with old electronics and wires tangled in a convoluted mess. I walked towards a flight of stairs that led to a simple wooden door. Opening it I returned to the hallway of the Statham mansion. I was not aware that my owner had a cellar here. Regardless, I think Mr. Statham is expecting me to attend to him, so I should be going. I could hear him calling my name from the dining room.

How does Macy deal with being so unique? I'm assuming she hasn't spoken much with the cyborgs or other androids.
Asked by Swith

She indeed hasn't spoken a lot with them, as she does usually interact with Residents like Rmwtyliin and Kale.

To answer the question, she doesn't see her uniqueness as a problem to her, be it physically or internally, but she does recognize it being an obstacle in her interactions with the other Residents. Being an android she doesn't go to the dining hall to eat, thus missing out on said interactions. However, she does like to visit the others in their rooms or hang out in the lobby to compensate for this.

Now for my questions:

Agy: what is Opa's relationship with the other cyborgs/androids?

Fvaar: why does Rmwtyliin have a harder time introducing herself in English than holding a conversation in English?

Swith- She would probably be a white oak. She'll be tall, wide, and long-lived. She'll provide a base for other plants to grow, like shade lovers and vines. Birds will nest in her branches, and squirrels will scurry up it to take refuge from predators. Bees will make their hives in her branches and collect pollen from her flowers. She'll provide shade to anyone who needs it, and protection from rain to whoever is underneath her. And she'll provide nuts for critters to feed upon.

Aw, Carly, that's beautiful. Kale's got a good heart. A white oak is perfect. Does Kale have a dream she wants to fulfill? Some special moment, or to become a specific thing/force/agency?

Poor Romy hasn't figure all the lunatics out yet! Ched... Charumati would probably assume Maccabees was named in acknowledgement of the biblical books and their tales which are, by the way, fascinating to read. What does Romy think of Chaos?

Gio... if Giovenith could be a pony, what type? And now I know more about the MLP franchise. I'd have to agree with Willow. Twilight Sparkle being once a "regular joe" like everyone else.

Prim, Naomi had such a crush on Aegis. :P Alright... what happens to Luxan souls when they die?

Nice replies, Storm!

Storm: Rmwtyliin has a harder time introducing herself because she's choosing to actually introduce herself in English. Not being anywhere close to fluent, she finds it far less problematic to switch to her own tongue once comparatively simple greetings are exchanged, and let Duncan do the English-speaking.

Prim, if Insidious had a vast array of accessories (earth-type, harmless) which would become her favorite?

Gio: since char!Gio and family seem to like raw meats in solid or liquid form... does this mean their 'evil' counterparts are vegetarians?

Cerillium wrote:Min: how did your present main Guild members all meet?

Oh boy, here goes, a reader's digest version:

Anais & Cherry have been best friends for years, having met in Maatu Keep and since traveled much through Cantha together. They both hail from rival factions, but do not adhere or harbor said animosity given their independent lives away from faction squabbles. They've traveled through mainland Cantha, was granted access through the Luxon's Jade Sea and permission into Kurzick's Echovald Forest, and even paid a visit to Shing Jea Monastery - something Anais was all too thrilled to come back to again. After that, they decided to board a ship and sailed south to Elona, the Land of the Golden Sun.

The ladies meet Erick in Kamadan, capitol of Istan. They strike an easy friendship and accompany Erick across the Istan sea into Kourna and Vabbi, even further inland. Anais and Erick delve into deep conversations about faith, esoteric lore, magic and their roles in the eyes of the Five Gods. Cherry is in it for the food, art and fashion. After a few months traveling through the sands of Kourna, the lush forests and floating gardens of Vabbi, that they decide to head to Tyria. Erick offers to accompany them as he knows of a certain impatient hothead that traveled ahead of him.

Alexia is from Ascalon - not the IC Ascalon :P She founded the Guild with a few others Ascalonians, having traveled through the battered lands of Kingdom of Ascalon in pursuit and eradication of the endless Charr horde that made its way through the Shiverpeak Mountains and into the Kingdom of Kryta. Her resolve to wipe out as many of the charr as she can from the face of Tyria is mainly fueled by the destruction and death these creatures have wrought in her own home, not wanting to see others suffer the same fate.

Lion's Arch, the capitol of the Kingdom of Kryta, was under siege by the Charr for weeks by the time Alexia and her guild arrived - they immediately lend their aid to the White Mantle, the city's defenders, against the Charr horde. Alexia joins the healers and is quickly put to work. There, she meets Reyna, a young Elonian warrior with a bad temper and even sharper sword. Reyna claims the charr are the fiercest beasts she's ever fought since walking through the unforgiving sands of Kourna and she demands a quick discharge so that she can get back into the fight. She gets an offer to join Alexia's guild as well. Alexia is initially rebuffed and the monk doesn't push the matter.

Anais & company arrive in Kryta under siege. The captain of the boat tells them the Sea of Sorrows is too dangerous to try passing through again, they have to make land here as the ship suffered enough and is in need of repairs. All notions of adventure and discovery of the new land are dashed. The White Mantle conscripts anyone able to carry a sword or show an affinity for magic. Cherry is assigned to a unit of mixed backgrounds, its here she met Traxt an independent elementalist who was drafted to fight for the city. His dour attitude only eggs Cherry to keep teasing him endlessly, saying that before the siege is broken, she'll get him to smile. Erick is drafted with the warriors on the front line, lending his martial prowess against the horde, he also reunites with his hotheaded cousin, Reyna (yes this was left out intentionally in my app, but eh, now you know). Anais is quickly assigned to the healer's group, led by Alexia. The two did not start off on the right foot, as their methods and practice were polar opposites, but the two soon reconciled (mainly out of necessity).

The Siege of Lion's Arch lasted two months. In that time, the Guild numbered to fourteen strong: a militia in their own right. Alexia knew the better than her fellow Ascalonians and proved essential in much of the city's planning with the White Mantle. The Charr pull back, Lion's Arch no longer worth their losses and the siege ends; they make their way back through the Shiverpeak Mountains to refocus their efforts on retaking Ascalon - what's left of it. Knowing full well of the Charr's intentions, Alexia sets out on a quest to find a weapon capable of stopping the charr once and for all - or so that was the legend recorded in a scroll found in the debris of an old Krytan library. Their first stop was back home, to the land of Ascalon, but it would also be their last, literally, for half the guild. Currently, Alexia is the last Acalonian in the Guild.

Okay work computer has IE and it's on XP so it's shit so lemme see if I remember the questions...sory, it's been a long day. Hokay.

Cer: Brit never really thought about anything like that until after she moved for the first time and passed age seven. She was always reading books from the school library from 3rd grade and up. Books like a 800+ page smal print text book about a collective history of US Paratroopers before, during, and after World War Two, and an entire biography on Erwin Rommel. She never really found superheroes appealing as role models or idols, and instead lookde up to the average grunt on the ground.

That's what she wanted to do. She would spend her free time looking up the Army and other military branches in school encyclopedias and memorizing rank structure for fun. This was only further solidified when she started playing video games because she grew up in the Golden Age of the Shooter where every other game was about WW2. She didn't want anything fancy, or exotic. Just the average soldier.

Fvaar: Sinyaya doesn't have a favorite toy so much as she just has toys. Poor girl only had what was outside to play with in the Zone, so she adores the little spider and the doll Gio and Deuce gave her respectively. My mind tells me she received a third toy from someone and I can't for the life of me remember it.

Swith: I kinda touched this story before but I guess it never really got too in-depth. To go all the way back, Mon wasn't really Mon to begin with. She was Colonel Allison Jukinev of the Monfrox Special Forces. A Ranger, back before Dagger One became the Tier One military asset it is today. When the Zone really came to be, General von Sturmgiest was the nation's leader. Lidev was his adopted daughter that he raised with as much tender loving care as hard military training. The former of which Lidev hasn't received much of from her actual father.

When she set out for an expedition one week and never returned, he feared the worst and sent out Allison's squad to go investigate. They split up, and when they regrouped, Allison was no longer with them. They were low on supplies and had two troopers wounded, so the mission was scrubbed and they were both presumed missing.

What happened was that Lidev has stumbled into a Space Bubble anomaly and was trapped. Allison heard her broken radio calls and tried to find the source, until she too became trapped inside the anomaly. The thing is that the Space Bubble anomaly bends space and time within a certain radius so things get really out of whack if you're ever in one. On the only occasion in which those who went in came back, it was reported that the men trapped found it like a fog of which they walk to one direction, only to end up right back where they were no matter what. This was taken from the recording in the PDA of one of the dead.

When Allison stepped in, Lidev was trying out some demonic magic to get out and though it succeeded, she and Allison became one...sorta. Allison lost all her memory of her life, but retained her instincts and skills that she had as a soldier. Lidev lost her physical form and was trapped inside Allison's consious mind. When the Colonel awoke and asked where she was, Lidev answered "Monfrox". Since then, she adopted that as her name and well, the rest is PL history even if I wish I could tweak it...a lot.

They say that there's occasionally a candle in the windows, and that walking under that window is something done at one's peril - particularly a few hours after meals, and early in the mornings - due to the brass chamber pot which that apartment holds.

And yet, if need must the door opens and a woman steps out, brandishing a staff festooned with blades and a gun. She's a survivor, and has found the courage to take on monsters - but not without going against her values enough to seem monstrous to herself.

3. Sometimes she resents her position, at once its responsibilities and how small these are; nevertheless, she excels at it, enough so that her detractors are often silent. The time spent elsewhere, it seems, did not weaken her skills.

In a short break from her duties, she sways in the sunlight, watching her oldest friend carve a bust of her sister, the queen. She tries to suppress her jealousy; he carved her a veritable monument. For better or for worse, she is famous; the lost princess, now home once more, the flawed face that launched a chisel and admittedly a career.

Home and happy though she is, sometimes she finds herself yearning for something more, something she can't put a finger on; something else tells her that it relates to the five years absent from her memories. Sometimes she looks at the stars, wondering what they are; the seas, wondering what lies beneath; others, wishing that communication and travel were faster. Something in her mind whispers that she once knew, but that of course is impossible.

4. She seems ordinary enough if you pass her in the street - a student, studying an appropriately dull major. Nothing that will impact the world. Sometimes she regrets fleeing the Building, but one thought of the bloodshed and she wants to be universes away.

5. Naomi understood what had led the still-so-young woman to be tempted, but it still hurt to face her like this. It hurt that the infiltrator had been the sweet, friendly girl they'd half raised.

"Finally I am not the least of you! Finally I have my family -" Nevermind that their disappearance had thrown her homeland into chaos, assuming that the Devourers had left enough of Fvaarniimar intact for that. A bastion of peace, however tiny - and that peace was shattered irreparably.

That family cowered from their youngest as she unleashed Something. A great gulf of nothingness stretched out, insanity-inducing to look at. She stared into the abyss. Her insanity rivaled that of a cultist. "Elka, Macy, Kale, join me. You don't need to fight. I don't want anyone hurt." A moment later, most of the weapons evaporated. Those that remained were well-concealed, or well protected.

6. Sometimes surviving is going from day to day. It would be fair to say that the woman has stagnated, or even regressed. Over half her life has been spent around English, and everyone suspects she's fluent by now. Yet the old mole rat perches on her shoulder - some say too stably for a creature who really ought to be dead - and dutifully translates every word which leaves her lips. She doesn't mind trips to the surrounding area, nor doctoring others, but she hasn't left the planet in years, nor even the country. Even the simple flip phone is used only grudgingly. Her eyes look old and sad.

7. The twentysomething politely greets the usher. She and her friends are regulars at this theater; he nods back, offering a rewards program. Deciding to take the plunge, she pulls out a credit card to pay; minutes later she's rolling her eyes at the commercials. "If this goes on much longer, we won't -" She winces as a shot rings out. "You're sure this movie isn't violent?" Intellectually she knows that it shouldn't be; they all have their quirks, and make a point of researching enough to find entertainment which they'll all enjoy. Nevertheless, this preview is ominous. Idly, she tries to recall which number preview it is - silly superstition perhaps, but she has spent years surrounded by magic. Besides, it occupies her mind.

Would Katya have another childlater on, and would she let them have a relationship with Nash?

Most likely Katya would not have another child. Of she did, she probably wouldn't let them have a family-type relationship, if any at all; she'd try to hide the fact that they're related.

Katya finds herself homless, no money, at rock bottom. What does she do?

If on Earth, go crying back to her mother for money - even if they hate each other, her mother would oblige in order to preserve their family's image of wealth, while Katya would be humbled and seek out new ways to make money afterwards.

If on Galli, she'd stick it out with friends who she could live with, or manipulate shady characters and get involved in highly illegal activities in order to quickly make a new fortune.

What does Romy think of Chaos?

You've seen how he reacted to Minerva bringing him through that tunnel. So it would be safe to say that at worse, he still held a low opinion of Chaos, thinking that it's petty and for the weak minded, and something that he'll never be foolish enough to indulge in, thinking of himself to be very well above it. Simply put, he doesn't like it at all, and would think it to be pathetic by comparison to the Wilhelm's Creed Pantheon.

But on the other hand at best, he'll tolerate Residents such as Minerva for at least trying to make some used out of it as just a tool, but even then he'll hold them with suspicions of whether they can actually control it. Mind you he's only been this tolerable as it is towards Residents that happened to be related to Chaos if just for the fact that they were Residents too and gotten to know them first. So if he were to encounter some non-resident Chaos worshippers, chances are one doesn't have to put the two and two together to figure out what'll happen next. :P

Explain Macabees, or link it? There's only one I know of and s/he is a Minty

Maccabees is the name for the head god in Wilhelm's Creed Pantheon, being the first and arguably strongest god in it, and is worshipped by countless innumerable amounts of patrons. Of course most if not all gods in Romy's dimension would probably fit into the formed god category, so how powerful of a god Maccabees is can be up for debate, but considering that it and all of the Wilhelms across the Imperium's history have managed to form a constantly expanding empire that spans for infinity across an equally infinite flat world, I would safely say it done pretty alright for itself all things considered. :P

But that does bring up the question that if their dimension spans to infinity with infinite possibilities entailed, then surely there'll likely be an infinite amount of Wilhelm Imperium copies that exists in the dimension, and infinite copies of the same to boot, along with everything else that must infinity inhabit the dimension?

Now as to why Maccabees has been making the Imperium conquer and subjugate everything within its sights since its creation? Could be that it and Wilhelm I saw a vision of something they had to prepare for, something not good.

"Hey! Give those back I don't have any replacements!"

"Later! Mag need see how stay on face. No ways horseface work glasseswise!" The squib shouted, running through the halls with Sterling's glasses in hand, being chased by the annoyed and angry stallion. The alien was laughing madly, putting the glasses on his own face to see if they'd work on his snout. And indeed they did! He couldn't see anything for shit, but that was simply due to the fact his eyes weren't as bad as Sterling's.

"Koovy!" He shouted out, before tripping on a stray rug and having to use the force to rapidly pull the glasses off his face before he face-planted. He held them up for the pony to take back, laughing and chittering happily as he realized how silly this whole thing had been. Though he'd have to find out how those glasses work! Magic, probably!

Bloody hell, this one requires a bit of research... answer later -nodnod-

Soz...

Mab is not easy to write for, let alone put into one song. I found some songs that draw a faint image of Mab, collectively:
Thistle & Weeds by Mumford & Sons
Sex & Candy by Marcy Playground
I Will Not Bow by Breaking Benjamin
A Beautiful Lie by 30 Seconds to Mars
Hunter (wasn't on the list) always struck me as someone fitting to:
    Quiet Confidence by Bonnie Dune
Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips
Dan is tricky because I never gave him much IC time to develop. Blame the Klingon. Anyhoo, his song would be:
Praise Chorus by Jimmy Eat World
Mezran was a toss up. I can go for something upbeat, angry, or carefree. In the end though:
The World at Large by Modest Mouse
The guild's collection:
Stand by Me by Ben E King
    Undertow by Daisy Ricochet
Take Me Anywhere by Tegan & Sara
    Iron by Woodkid
    Like a Stone by Audioslave

You ask so many questions,
what answers should I choose?
It this Plato's heebie-jeebies,
or just existential blues?

Did Sandy and Amanda have any previous relationships? How did they meet?
Um, of course they did! But this is another question best answered IC. ("Yo, dawg, I put some RP questions in your OOC so you can RP while you don't RP!")

How they met is already established:
Northwest Slobovia wrote:[T]hey met when she was an incoming law student and he was a junior tenure-track professor. They bumped into each other sometimes at parties near campus, but they didn't really hit it off until Sandy invited her to his apartment for a dinner date. Amanda was charmed to discover that Sandy had trained his parrot to say romantic things to her; Amanda thought that was sweet, and decided to keep them both. They married about five years ago.

Sandy's opinion on Zamloxis, if any?
"Zamloxis?" Sandy's brow furrowed, and he absent-mindedly scratched a cheek with his fingers. "Oh, you mean Zalmoxis! He was um... Getae, not Greek, so I can't say much about him. But let me check some things..." Sandy pulled Volume 21 of The Encyclopedia of the Greek Cosmos, "Xenarchus - Zeno" from one of the bookshelves and flipped rapidly to an entry. His expression soured as he skimmed it. "Nobody can say much about him, it seems. However, if you give me a few days, I'll be two thousand years closer to the source, and in one of the best places in the world to answer that question." Sandy's eyes sparkled as he considered what he might find in the Library.

Does Amanda ever wish she had taken a different career path? If so, what path would she have taken?
She'd laugh off the question, saying she never needed to think about it what she wanted to do with her life. She was brought up on a steady diet of white southern liberal guilt -- oops, my characterization is showing! -- so she was very much aware of how unjust the United States is.

Sandy, on the other hand, does wonder what would have happened if he'd known he had the Sight and the Art from a younger age. But he's also philosophical enough to wonder that if he had, would he be sitting around wondering what would have happened had he remained ignorant and pursued a mundane career, rather than being a member of a tiny, secretive minority.

What would Amanda do if she met Wilhelm himself after knowing of all the criticisms she made of him?
Which criticisms, Ched? The ones in the collab'd conversation that got stepped on by the ogres' arrival? Those criticisms? :P
