A Brief Explanation

The World of Terra is a created world that is similar and yet different to our Earth. Inspired by the Ace Combat setting of Strangereal, the World of Terra is a setting for many of my previous RPs. The original incarnation of this RP group was that of a World building project dedicated to this world and it remains a side project of Thought Cafe for anyone who is interested. In the World of Terra you have Feudal RPs in a Low Fantasy setting, MT/Early PMT Geopolitical Nation RPs, 20th Century World Wars, whatever your imagination produces, you can set it in Terra.

Although the first RP set in the revised world of Terra will be a Reboot of A World in Chaos, an RP set in the equivalent to our present day. The foundations of this world will start in Antiquity, and everyone can contribute. You don't have to be in Thought Cafe to participate in this, though its advised that you do since we're so awesome

AWIC is set in a micro timeline and where we start and is bound to share some similarities with the primary timeline. But we're gonna start with Antiquity for the primary timeline.

No we start in antiquity. Think Ancient Egypt or China's Warring States period, though we'll only handle the setting, the Primary RPs won't be set in that period, though we'll have to see about that. This is a shared world after all so anybody can make an RP about it. So long as they have my permission and use canon material.

All Civilizations had their start, and Terran Civilization began in earnest with the discovery of Agriculture. Revolutionizing the way the people of the ancient world lived and work and interact with their environment. Now there were more available manpower to do other things. Such as craft better tools, build homes and buildings, trade and so many other things. The first settlements began, thriving to become towns, cities and later nations. And from these nations were carved Great Empires, the first empires began in the river valleys, expanding through blood and iron as empires always do to the mountains, the plains, the hills and across the seas. Rising and fall and leaving in their wake great works that caused equal amounts despair and fascination. And for each felled nation another one came to take its place, while the march of human progress continued.

Terra in Antiquity set the stage for thousands of years of Human history, it was a time of glory, of gods and men and storied heroes who's deeds came to be known throughout the ages, preserved in everything from stone tablets to the earliest form of paper. Men becoming immortal through their words and deeds.

So we shall begin this Worldbuilding Project in Antiquity, setting the stage for what I dubbed the fun part, though not to disparage the era of antiquity of course. This era would span thousands of years of Human. Covering the ancient Empires of Bismarck in Brettonia, Ancient Cathay in Kaea, the Great Lake and Riverine Nations of Middle Kaea and South Brettonia, and the vast empires of the ancient native peoples of the Atalantas.

Will there be an RP set in this setting? We will have to see. But for now, carve out your Nations, Peoples, and Empires. Write down their ancient histories, but know that this will reverberate throughout the ages to come. Additionally, this is an open project, meaning anyone can contribute. So when you make a Culture or a Nation or an Empire, be open to input, since when you post its not just your own anymore, its everyone's to share and add to.

Note: There's a difference between Nations and Empires. Nations were collectives of City States and a singular culture who often times bounded together against bandits, Empires and other foreign Invaders. Empires are made up of multiple nations, with one usually being the centerpiece of that Empire, though this isn't always the case.

Note 2: The Age of Antiquity spans almost four thousand years of human history in our world, spanning from the first empires in our Indus River Valley and Nile Valley to the fall of Rome and the beginning of the Middle Ages. This is still the case, so note the time span. Additionally, all Empires rise and fall, often some Empires have multiple Rise and Falls like in our Ancient Egypt so note that Empires are not gonna last forever. And when they last for a long time, it changes.

Note 3: Is there Magic? To us, no. But write like your in the shoes of these people. The things we can identify using the scientific method were often dismissed as ghosts and magic. So there is a certain element of fantasy in this segment, keep it Low Fantasy.

Name: The Bismarck
Demonym: Bismarcker
Region: (Mark in Map)

Time Span: (Start from 5000 BCE and end at 500 CE) 1242 BCE to 622 CE
Description: (Customs, Traditions, Religions, etc.) WIP.
History: Originally migrating from North East Kaea, the Bismarcker was a nomadic people who settled in the modern land of Bismarck in 1242 BCE. The Bismarcker was a maritime people, who traded with the neighboring people on the North Brettonian Islands and their land based neighbors, isolating themselves in the mountains of the Bismarck Peninsula. However this changed upon a large Barbarian Invasion from the south, the Barbarian King Uversk wanted to claim Bismarck for himself, having no choice but to unite, the City-States of the Bismarck elected a King to lead their united armies in battle, the first King, Augustus managed to defeat Uversk on the field of battle, and managed to convert his followers to his own cause, LATER invading the City-States and founding a unified throne and a new dynasty to rule over all the Bismarckers.

Although he later died from poisoning by his political rivals, his son Tiber succeeded him after a civil war that saw a split between the Royalist North and the Republican South which the North won. He declared the Imperial Destiny, that Bismarck had the right to rule over all the peoples of Brettonia, and that he and his descendants would sacrifice all worldly pleasures until Brettonia was decided under the Augur banner of Bismarck. Tiber reigned for 20 years before dying while leading his Legions.

The Empire reigned from 1024 BCE to the Sacking of Bismarck in 2 CE however the people of Bismarck lived on in their little peninsula, ignoring the world that they had ruled over until a Barbarian invasion finally did what Uversk failed to do. Subjugate the former Nomads that were the Bismarck.

Name: The Aisukuer Tribes
Demonym: Aisukuer
Region: This is the territory the Tribes truly control, though the tribes and their influence spread across all of Northern Brettonia.
Time Span: 5000 BCE to 964 BCE, though the Tribes themselves existed without territory for much longer.
Description:
Many Aisuku customs have been lost to simple time, but some still remain. One is the Snow Oath, an Oath performed by Aisuku Warriors back in ancient times, and still sometimes practiced today. Another is the Prayer of Plenty, a mass prayer delivered by a tribe to their chosen god to gift them and their lands with (relative) plenty. As for religion, worship varies from Tribe to Tribe. Although all Aisuku recognize all Gods on their pantheon, each tribe has a single God, who is replaced with the choosing of every Chieftain. If two tribes end up choosing the same god, they must perform a traditional fight between two chosen champions, one from each tribe, to the death. The Tribe that wins gets to keep the protection of the chosen god, while the defeated Tribe must choose another. A major part of Ainu belief is that the power of the gods flows throughout all living things, and that each tribe receives the words of their chosen god through the mouth of their shaman.
History: The Aisuku existed before man learned to write. Their Tribes fully formed, they settled, unopposed, in Northern Verein. They soon had to learn to live off the land without harming the extremely fragile ecosystem of their adopted homeland, and also learned to use the cold to fight off invaders. There was no need to fight a battle your enemies fought among themselves, after all. Though not truly united, the Tribes existed under a tense military alliance, for if one Tribe fell to invaders, the rest might be next. Although they only controlled Northern Verein, the Aisuku could be found living in Brettonia whereever there was snow. Although the isolation and cold of their home kept the Aisuku safe, it also kept their population low, and kept them technologically behind as the rest of the world advanced. Things only worsened for them when the Tomoi arrived, who conquered their lands easily with their superior weaponry and numbers. The Aisuku continued fighting an endless war in the snow, but their nation was finished.

Name: The Chackola Tribes
Demonym: Chackolite
Region: (Mark in Map) Blue in bottom left corner.
Time Span: (Start from 5000 BCE and end at 500 CE) Around 4324 BC to 500 AD.
Description:) The Chackolites believed in three gods, God of Kings, God of Water, and God of Land, and these beliefs were practiced until the Tribal Genocide of 1763, in which the Chackolas and a tribe to come in the 1500's were subject to total genocide. As such, this and their flag are the only things we know about this simple, supposedly peaceful tribals. Their flag was a white background with a blue strech on the bottom half and the rising sun from the water.
History:
Sometime around the year 4324 BC, the native tribes on the island of Chilea united into something they called the Chackola Nation, Chackola being the Chackolite word for: A. the island they were on and B. still water, as the island Chilea is famous for how the water barely moves, sometimes being regarded as the "Water God's Blessing", as it allowed for easy fishing. They expanded to cover the whole island, and remained undisturbed for thousands of years, but eventually, the unity fell apart and they separated into Northern and Southern Tribes, which we'll learn about next lesson.
