What is your favourite accent?

What's your favourite accent, why is it your favourite accent and what is your mother tongue/nationality/base accent?

I'm an American with a 'General American' accent and i am rather fond of the English accent, very soft sounding accent.

My state's (Maine), Scottish, and German (both of which I have a large heritage from).

I have a weakness for French accents, but Hungarian accents fascinate me.

Japanese accents are pretty cool.

I've got a primarily New England accent with strong Appalachian tinges and a hint of Old World English.

As for English, used to be RP, but I don't want to sound extra-european, so it's Scottish now.
My German sounds mostly like Rhineland.
As for my Italian, it's markedly Milanese.
In French I guess I sound rather Cote d'Azur.
My Russian used to sound more Leningradese than Muscovite, I was told.
In Latin, I go for the classical pronounciation (scientia sounds like skee-ehn-tya, vulnus like ool-noos).

I don't know about a favourite - I haven't heard enough of the ones I like to really judge which one works the most for me. Maybe soft irish, but also french, various british ones, and some germanic/nordic ones too.

I have received pronunciation with some elements of a general 'london accent' in it, though it can 'poshify' itself further in certain situations.

There is no "General American" accent. The closest we have to that is Hollywood English, but it definitely is not how most people in the country speak. You have a regional accent even if you aren't aware of it. Similarly, the appearance of a catch-all "English" accent only can appear from the outside. It also is subdivided by various regions.

I disagree. It's very neutral. I've a friend who grew up in the Midwest and his speeches patterns are wholly unremarkable, save for that he lacks the Appalachian tinge of my area.

I fucking love southern accents. This is probably because Im from the south myself, so it reminds me of home, as Im linving in the north now.

I also really like russian accents. Something about russian accents sounds very philosophical and strong at the same time.

That's a hard choice as I like German, English or Irish accents. But I think I like British accents the most.

I grew up in South Florida. Homestead/Naranja area.

What accent would your characterize that as?
