FA M118 105mm High Explosive Round (HE)

The FA M118 105mm High Explosive Round is designed for use in combat against lightly armored targets, soft targets, buildings, and other medium and light tanks. It can be used to destroy enemy fortifications, bunkers, entrenched positions, and much more.

DESIGN:

The projectile consists of a hollow steel forging with a boattail base, a streamlined ogive, and gliding metal rotating band. A base cover is welded to the base of the projectile for added protection against the entrance of hot gases from the propelling charge during firing. The FA M118 105mm HE round is packed with high-explosive TNT, and fitted with a fuze. When the round impacts the target, the fuze becomes activated and detonates the TNT inside the round. A cavity liner, to preclude dusting of HE during transportation and handling, is seated in the cavity and expanded into the lower projectile fuze threads. The percussion primer assembly consists of a percussion ignition element and a perforated flash tube containing black powder. The seven numbered increment bags are tied together. These are assembled into the cartridge case, around the primer flash tube. The round, while in flight, is stabilized by the grooves inside the bore of the howitzer.

FA M118 105mm High Explosive Squash Head (HESH)

The FA M118 105mm High Explosive Squash Head (HESH) round is designed for use against enemy armor, fortifications, and buildings. The round is also highly effective against infantry personnel, and is used primarily as support for infantry and armored columns.

DESIGN:

The FA M118 105mm HESH round, part of the Perseus series, has been designed with functionality and effectiveness as the primary goals. The round is made of thin, light-weight metals to necessitate an easily movable munition in times of war. The round is loaded with plastic explosives for two reasons: first, the plastic explosives are much more stable than other alternatives, proving for a safe experience when not in use, but also, that the plastic explosives are much more effective against armored targets than explosives like TNT, which are used in High Explosive rounds. The HESH shell uses a delayed-action fuze, to ensure the round penetrates some of the armor of the enemy vehicle before detonating. The main killing power of the HESH round derives from its shock wave. The explosion against the armor of an enemy tank creates shockwaves that are carried through the armor of the vehicle into the metal/air interface (the crew compartment), where some of the energy is reflected in a tension wave. This causes interior spalling within the vehicle, which can severely injure crew members.

The FA M118 105mm Illumination round is designed to provide nighttime lighting for troops in combat (TIC) while supporting the movement of infantry personnel and armored columns. This is a non-explosive round.

DESIGN:
The FA M118 105 Illumination round is a lightweight round that can fire up to a range of 15 kilometers. The shell is fired with a mechanical fuze which is timed to ignite the munition inside which illuminates a large area of about 650 meters, radius. The round is equipped with a parachute that deploys once the fuze is activated, slowing the descent of the round itself and providing lighting for longer periods of time.

It is intended for use specifically against armored targets and heavily fortified bunkers, and is used to assist in the conduct of infantry operations and the movement of armored columns.

DESIGN:
The FA 120mm APFSDS-T cartridge is an Armor-Piercing, Fin-Stabilized, Discarding Sabot, with Tracer cartridge consisting of a depleted uranium long-rod penetrator with a three-petal composite sabot. The round is designed for a 120mm bore, and is most effective when fired from such. The penetrator on Freyport Armory's design of the APFSDS-T is a heavy tungsten carbide penetrator, which is safer for crew members and transporting officials than depleted uranium, and has just as effective penetrating power. The tungsten carbide penetrator is mixed with other alloys, such as nickel and/or zinc, to provide increased penetrating power. The mixture of compounds is also pyrophoric, which means that the heated fragments of the penetrator ignite after impact on contact with air, setting fire to fuel and/or ammunition in the target vehicle, thereby compensating for the lack of an explosive warhead in the penetrator.

FA M8200 120mm Armor Piercing Tracer (AP-T)

The FA M8200 120mm Armor Piercing Tracer (AP-T) is a round designed for targeting enemy heavy vehicles on the battlefield.

DESIGN:
The complete round consists of a steel projectile and a propelling charge assembly. The projectile body is a monobloc slug with a blunt ogive and hardened face. A forged aluminum windshield is attached to the front of the solid projectile body and two separate gilding metal rotating bands are located near the base of the body. A tracer is threaded into the base. The propelling charge assembly consists of a cartridge case, propellant, and a percussion primer. The tracer provides a visible trace during the first 3 seconds of flight or a range of approximately 3,500 yards, Upon impact, the windshield spreads over the surface of the target, and the hard core projectile body penetrates the target by means of kinetic energy.

The premier munition that Freyport Armory provides our clients is the 155mm smart munition, dubbed "Overlord". This round is a highly capable and flexible munition, providing enhanced artillery support and effective on-target fire within minutes of a target being designated. Overlord was developed as a longer-ranged alternative to conventional artillery shells, with GPS guidance for improved accuracy. Overlord has a range of anywhere between 40 to 57 kilometres (25 to 35 mi) depending on the configuration, with a circular error probable (CEP) of around 5 metres (16 ft) to 20 metres (66 ft). The small area for error is minimized by the use of GPS guidance, and has proven to drastically minimize collateral damage and civilian casualties. The extended range of the round is achieved through the use of folding glide fins, which allow the projectile to glide from the top of a ballistic arc towards the target.

Combat operations undertaken with Overlord have proven to be extremely successful, with over 95% of all rounds landing within 4 meters of their intended target, and no rounds hitting friendly positions. The regular soldier only needs to be equipped with a GPS of any variety as deemed by their command, and they will be able to give the GPS coordinates to the fire team which can place an Overlord shell anywhere within their designated target area. The round is highly flexible, which is proven in the methods by which it can engage the enemy. The Overlord round can engage enemy targets in three distinct methods:

1. Height of Burst
2. Point detonating
3. Delay/Penetration

I am contacting you with regards to two aspects: Your ammunition, and your recent public release of the LMI-100 Soteria and MEADIN systems. Firstly, I would like to address the aforementioned surface-to-air missile system.

As a relatively small country with limited military capacity, the Meriadni military is constantly in search of effective and cost-efficient alternatives to mainstream armament options. A number of recent changes to our strategic geopolitical positioning necessitate the replacement of our outdated Crowning Aeronautics TMP-81E SAM systems. Your newly-released systems appear to fit well with our current array of ground-based radar units, as well as with the Army's recently-updated Command and Control systems. As such, we are interesting in investigating the possibility of replacing our current missile system with your MEADIN system.

We are very interested in ensuring that your system is compatible with our already-operational radar systems, most notably our newly-procured Saab Giraffe 4A AMB units. We would therefore like to invite individuals from your corporation to visit the Army Missile Command Center at The Citadel in Gröstavik to assist us in assessing the feasibility of transitioning to a combination of Giraffe and MEADIN units to achieve superior airspace defence.

In addition to this, we would like to inquire as to the possibility of establishing a branch of your corporation in Meriad, in order to provide our military with superb ammunition without the necessity of ordering it from abroad.

The MEADIN system is a highly advanced and reliable platform, designed for maneuverability, effectiveness and accuracy - all traits that we borrow from the base Soteria platform and build upon in the MEADIN structure. Our maneuverable and precise firing platform provides overwhelming airspace denial for enemy forces, and has been tested in combat to provide only the best for your defense forces.

In regards to your concerns over the Soteria and MEADIN platform's compatibility with the Saab Giraffe 4A AMB, we believe that the compatibility should be flawless in every instance. The Saab Giraffe 4A AMB uses low-frequency x-band RADAR, which is similar to what the MEADIN and Soteria systems use, and all that would be required is an additional interface module to connect the Saab Giraffe to the MEADIN battlefield network. The information the Saab Giraffe 4A AMB will send to the MEADIN command and control centers may need to be optimized for functionality, but we believe it should be fairly compatible as-is.

Freyport Armory would like to offer the Meriad Ministry of Defense a complimentary battery of the MEADIN system, to conduct testing and compatibility stress-tests with the Saab Giraffe 4A AMB to ensure maximum integration is possible. Freyport Armory will further work with the Meriad Ministry of Defense to ensure any bugs, problems and glitches found in the interconnectivity of the Saab system and the Soteria and MEADIN systems is mitigated as much as possible.

Further, Freyport Armory would be extremely excited to begin negotiations on the establishment of a small arms plant in Meriad to produce small arms and artillery munitions for the Meriad Ministry of Defense, and will implement hiring practices that have been seen as highly effective elsewhere abroad, in promoting the hiring of veterans of the Meriad defense forces, as applicable to domestic law. We will be happy to send officials from Freyport Armory at the Ministry of Defense's earliest convenience.

Upon arrival at the Gröstavik, Meriad, Army Procurement Center, your equipment and personnel will be greeted by a team of experts from the Army Missile Command Center, who are well-versed in Meriadni command and control structures, battlespace management systems, and radar technologies.
