My race will ahve been partially pushed to the brink of extinction due to the powerful psionics in the system fighting each other. And very few of them exist now outside of the one world still native to them. I was thinking, during recent years depending you race could have started hunting them, or something like that.

We are a tall and slender species, with a body structure similar to humans. We are long-lived by human standards living for thousands of years unless dying from accident or disease. Our cardiac and neurological systems are much more advanced compared to humans, which allow heightened reactions and agility. To us, most species move in slow motion with a degree of awkwardness while to others we move at a distracting grace and can be blindingly fast in close combat. We have two genders, male and female. My people are naturally psionic, allowing almost all of us to have atleast sigma class psionic abilities. However a major disadvantage is that their superior mental capacities causes them to be more emotional than most species, forcing them to exercise constant mental restraint to prevent a mental breakdown.

But our abilities made us outcasts in our home galaxy. We hail not from the one I reside in but elsewhere. We were feared for our prowess and in return my people were slaughtered in droves. No where was safe. No matter how many of them we killed, thousands more would rise up. Hunters would gleam in delight after a successful 'hunt'. Our bones dangling around their necks and our spirit-stones sold like jewelry. To my knowledge, we are pretty much extinct at this point because of their fear. It takes 50 years for a child to be born. It would take thousands of lifetimes for us to return to our numbers. But even in this galaxy, we are still hunted.

The Great Destiny, a ship that has been part of numerous tales of infamy and riches. While it is called the Great Destiny, another name for it is the Ghost Ship. The Great Destiny is something that is regarded more as legend than actual fact. Something of a ghost story to frighten novice sailors. Yet at the same time an entertaining story of exploit and adventure for children to hear about. Does this ship perhaps derive it's name from this children's day and ghost story, or do they derive from it?

In truth, it has been a reoccurring thorn in the side of authorities for what seems like centuries. It appears in a certain sector for a year and then disappears for many more years and then reappears again. There has been no actual evidence of this ship aside from bits and images. They leave no survivors and no trace of their existence. The long-lived captain, Hieron, ensures that it is kept that way. He was the one who designed the ship and he will be the one to captain it. While he is generally unpopular among his own crew, he cares little for them. So long as they get the job done and keep their mouth shut about their activities, they will be paid generously. There have been mutinies on his ship and he has survived all of them. While his ship is generally unknown to the public it is more known in the underground and the criminal world. He performs whatever tasks as long as the pay is excellent or the challenge is doable.

Bio:

I don't like talking about my past to others. But in this device I can record my personal history and thoughts regarding my life without any concern. In here I am truly free to express my thoughts and desires. If someone where to find this, I hope it is from my own kin. Despite my kind wanting to kill me for the greatest failure of my life, they are my kin. And without them I am truly alone in this universe. There are numerous galaxies and species out there and yet I find no rest. It seems as if fate itself is trying to end my kin. This "gift" that we have is more of a curse. A mark of death.

I was born on a worldship like my father, mother, uncles, aunts, grandfathers, grandmothers, brothers, sisters, peers, and mentors. My people were wandering nomads, we never stayed too long in an inhabited system for fear of reprisal. Even when I was young, I was trained to fight and use my powers. Everyday my parents and my mentors told my peers and I that one day we shall be charged with defending the worldship. This vessel was our home and our life. It was a cradle which offered safety to my people. I once asked if there was any more of us out in the galaxy. My father responded, if there was they would be just like us, hiding from the outsiders.

We never trusted the outsiders, but had to interact with them nonetheless for resupply and parts. Before adulthood, I only met outsiders about twelve times my whole life. My people age slower than the rest of the galaxy. At age 300 I reached adulthood and I was trained to use my powers after the discovery of my immense psionic prowess. My parents were proud of their son. The society I lived in was a meritocracy due to the fragile conditions we all lived in. All of us were taught to be soldiers because one day the outsiders would come to our vessel and attempt to destroy it. After a hundred years, I was given a command over a small scouting vessel and sent to gather data and explore the home galaxy. During this tenure, I was able to hone my skills as a raider captain enabling my people another access to supplies. The elders disapproved of my decision but accepted it due to its necessity at the time. The outsiders began demanding more from the trade with us and many of these deals were unfavorable for us.

At age 573, I reached a prominent position in my society as part of the military council. I became the leader of what I started 173 years ago, the raiding force of the worldship. We would pillage lightly or undefended worlds and convoys for supplies and material. Soon learned the liability of leaving survivors after a few ambushes which lead to my policy of no prisoners. We were sloppy at first, losing a dozen ships in the first decade of the raiding. But I then perfected my craft and was able to master it. My raiders brought back not only the basic necessities but luxury items as well. I was praised as a hero among my people for my actions. However it was this arrogance that led to my downfall and my failure.

With the mounting victories, my strategies and raids became more bold and often. I stopped raiding for necessity and starting raiding for the sake of obtaining more glory. Unfortunately my actions vibrated across my soldiers who increased their own raids and caused more problems among the outsiders to emulate myself. Then my failure began, when I planned to raid a whole inhabited system for my next conquest. It was then that I forget to care for my people. I had foolishly believed that my people had the power to claim a system for themselves and establish ourselves as a power.

No more hiding, I called. No more seclusion, I yelled. We claim this for our people, I demanded. The attack went off without a problem, we focused a majority of our forces in this attack. Cities burned. Civilians were massacred. Everything was to be destroyed so that our people could rise again. But in my arrogance I did not forsee our coming doom. This system we attacked was part of a larger empire. An empire who we had been raiding for centuries and who had been planning for our demise ever since I took command. They left the system undefended and watched as our ships charged into the system. They waited after our raid when I sent a few ships back, they followed them.

It was then they found that worldship and it was then that my failure was completed. The first sent an attack force at the occupying forces in their system. We beat them back easily but they kept sending more fleets into the grinding to delay us. For while we laughed and reveled in our victories over the outsiders. The Outsiders had attacked the worldship. They overran the defending starships. And they began massacring everyone aboard. By the time I received the message and returned to the worldship, the outsiders had occupied half of the worldship. They gave the same mercy that we did to them.

I managed to rally the survivors but we had to abandon the worldship. By the time we escaped, there were only about ten thousand of us left. Ten thousand out of seven billion survived. I was rightly blamed for this disaster by my people. I was given a ship and some supplies as a homage for my service. After that I spent the rest of my life in wandering and solitude. Even though a few of my kin wanted to follow me, I denied such requests. They should not interact with a murderer. At some point that I can't remember, I decided to construct the Great Destiny. Perhaps I can find rest in what I have been doing my whole life. I have lived with these outsiders and learned their names. Frankly, I cannot find anything that will ease my burden and my sorrow.
