November 16th, 2016
Rain clouds covered most of Western Washington. In some areas, the clouds released their load in a downpour. Others, the rain was lighter, and in the areas where it wasn’t raining, the clouds loomed as an ominous sign of a coming storm.

People went about their week day as if everything was normal, which for people native to Washington, the weather was pretty normal, especially for this time of the year. Some people gathered supplies for the inevitable windstorms, while others simply stayed at home.

But things didn’t stay so normal for long. At first, it wasn’t all that noticeable, but then sounds of panic started to sound all around, as people started attacking other people in the streets, intent on eating the victim. Emergency Broadcasts started broadcasting all over, warning people to lock their doors and stay indoors, and that military action was being taken. About the time that things seemed to be seriously going towards a downward spiral was at around 12 PM, and people all around were panicking to figure out what to do and where their family members were, or if they did know, rushing to make sure that they were safe.

Elizabeth "Effy" Walker
Elizabeth, preferred to be called Effy, had blown off school today, not even showing up like she did so often, somehow managing not to get expelled yet because she still came back with fairly good to good grades when she actually did do her schoolwork, so they kept her, despite her blowing things off and seemingly aimlessly wandering the area instead of doing what she was supposed to do.

And as soon as she realized things were going crazy, hearing car alarms going off and such like that, and people panicking, she didn't get scared, oddly enough. She got curious, and began wandering to investigate what was happening...

Of course, all she saw was complete chaos, with people fighting off these undead, trying to get into their cars, being eaten, and so on. She actually looked a bit horrified now, not curious, but at the same time, she didn't seem to care a ton nor do anything to help, and instead, decided to go the other way, where less chaos was unfolding at, to try and grasp exactly what was happening. She had, just like anyone, heard about the sickness thing, but everyone just thought it was a typical passing sickness that would come and go, but it seemed to have just massively escalated in a very short period of time instead. And now, this is what was happening. She didn't entirely know what to do right now, so about all she ended up doing was wandering away, taking in everything that she had seen going on, and trying to figure out what exactly to do with it, hoping that she wouldn't encounter any of those zombie things herself, though it was unlikely....

Thea Okonedo
Thea was currently at her middle school in Monroe, Washington, when things had begun to hit the fan suddenly. Surprisingly, not a lot had hit the actual school yet, but there were reports of things going to hell in places around Monroe. Everyone had heard of the whole infected thing for a while, but it only erupted into what it was today, and immediately it sent everyone and the world into a panic. Classes were canceled, obviously, and the teachers immediately gathered up all of the children and tried to keep them safe, and if they could, to get them safely to their parents, but it was a chaotic scene at the school nonetheless.

Thea was rather scared, asking for her parents repeatedly, because, unlike some of the others at the middle school, she didn't have a cellphone to call her parents. However, they hadn't managed to get to calling her parents yet, but thankfully for her, her parents immediately after realizing the situation, had packed up and went straight to the school, trying to call the school, but the lines were busy. They had packed up stuff in case they weren't capable of ever going back, so that delayed their time a bit, but they figured it was better to have supplies than rescuing their daughter with nothing and being stuck, though they certainly hoped that the delayed extra bit of time didn't make it too late for them to rescue their daughter or something...

Joseph Steel

(Before Zombie Attack)

0700 Local

Joseph was leading a party of 5 people down a river as they kayaked down a river deep in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The River current was picking up quickly going from Class 1 (Easy) to Class 2 (Moderate). He shouted a warning to the people he was guiding........

A few Hours later they landed at their planned landing, and loaded up the Kayaks onto a trailer and loaded back up into the van. Joseph jumped into the driver's seat and drove the van back to the guide office, just outside of Buck Creek Campground, with the radio off. Upon arriving back at the guide office, Joseph stashed all of the gear, while he took his personal Kayak of the trailer and loaded it up on to the top of his truck.

He then drove to his house which overlooked the town of White Horse. As he arrived at his house, he backed up to his trailer, and hooked it up, and loaded his Indian Scout Motorcycle onto the trailer strapping it down, as he was getting ready to go on a trip and ride his motorcycle after arriving at his destination. After he finished packing his clothes for the month long trip, he fed his back lab/blue healer mix dog named Gumbo, and went to bed with Gumbo joining him.

1200 Local

Joseph woke up with a start as Gumbo started barking. Joseph opened up the nightstand by his bed and grabbed his M1911 Pistol chambered in .45 Cal, chambered a round and pulled a shirt on.

He walked to the front door, and looked out the window and saw some people outside his home. He couldn't believe his eyes as he saw some of them eating the others. HE shook his head as his training kicked in, and threw open the door. He sighted the pistol and fired 3 rounds into the nearest common infected. These home defense rounds ripped into the undead and dropped it, but attracted the attention of the other nine undead. They slowly shambled towards him. He leveled the Pistol, and fired 6 rounds on 6 different targets, the pistol then clicked opened as the pistol was empty. 6 of the Zombies dropped to the ground, unmoving. Gumbo stayed where he was at but charged once the pistol was discharged. Joseph turned around and grabbed his shotgun. Gumbo had took a Zombie to the ground, but at the cost of his own life. Joseph then shot 4 times with the 870 dropping the last two zombie. He walked over to where Gumbo was laying at. He saw the infection already working its way to Gumbo, so he put the barrel of the shotgun to Gumbo's head and pulled the trigger.

He then buried the bodies of the dead, and Gumbo, crying as he did so. He then grabbed his rifles, and ammo for all his weapons, loaded them, then pulled on cargo pants, He then put the pistol in a drop leg holster on his tigh, His Bowie Knife and Tomahawk on his belt, and finished loading his truck and decided to go deep into the mountains.

He jumped in the truck and turned on the radio and listened to the Emergency Broadcast for any info on safe zones.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is suppose to go here?

Layla Sadik Williams
Layla was on vacation this week and as such was at home watching a Turkish Soap Opera. At the moment, she was in the kitchen fixing herself up a salad and cup of coffee. The tv was paused in the background so she wouldn't miss any of the show. All was quiet in her house. She liked it that way. And that's why she was especially angry when someone crashed their car into her next door neighbor's house. Now, she would have been angry even if it was loud already, but this ruined her perfect silent that she almost never gets to hear, due to her working the hospital all the time. Plus, the sudden noise made her drop her food.

She ignored the mess for now and quickly grabbed a bag full of medical supplies and put her lab coat on, living next to a doctor can have it's advantages after all and she had to fulfill those advantages. Running outside as quick as she could, having no shoes on and having a driveway made of rocks doesn't have it's advantages.

Once at the house she knocked on the door in rapid session as other neighbors looked and came over to the house. No one answered. She walked over to the whole in the house the car had made. The car was halfway through the wall. She looked into the back window, half of the front window as missing, namely the part of the window the driver sits in front of, the rest of it was shattered, but still intact. There was no human in the car.

Layla quickly looked past the glass and into the house. There was no person on the floor directly in front of the car, just a pool of blood and a trail coming from the pool that leads into the neighbor's bedroom. A scream that was silenced by a chomping sound came from inside the bedroom

"We need someone to get inside this house now!" Layla yelled out to the neighborhood.

Theo Brzezicki-Sadik
Theo had been camping up north in the mountains for the last month with some friends. So he didn't even know there was a sickness going around to begin with, and that's why he was especially curious when he and his friends got to Vancouver and saw it. They had a look of shock, terror, and confusion on their faces. Theo only had the look of curiosity on his face. The four of them saw the chaos that was the city. Normally cities were chaotic, but it was controlled, this was only madness.

People were killing each other, eating each other, smashing the brains of each other. All the while the only thought Theo could have was, "When did this happen? This can't be legal, can it? Should I join in the fun?" Sadly for him, those thoughts ended when a person started attacking his car door. Without even thinking Theo opened his door with a force that knocked the person attacking his door to the ground. He grabbed the back of the person's head and repeatedly smashed it into the roof of the car, quickly turning it into a pile of mush.

He took a minute to turn around and observe what was really going on. He saw that people just weren't killing people left and right. They were defending themselves. From these people who all suddenly decided to be violent cannibals. Then he noticed something was off about them, they were zombies.

"No, this can't be real. It's not possible. But, it's happening right in front of my eyes. So, it has to be happening and has to be real." He thought to himself. He noticed that some of the zombies were walking in his direction, "Oh, there is no way in hell I'm dying at the start of this." He said under his breath before taking the only throwing knife he had with him out of his pocket and aimed right for the nearest one. Throwing it at him, he ran at the second closest and kicked it to the ground and stomped on it's head a few times. He ran to get his knife out of the first one and used it as a stabbing tool to kill the rest.

Looking around he saw that his friend's had left him, "Can blame them for wanting to survive." He said as he glanced at an unoccupied car. He ran over to it and smashed it's window open, the car alarm got him some unwanted attention from a few zombies. He quickly unlocked it and found a pair of keys in the glove compartment. Jamming it into the ignition and hoping it was the extra pair, he stepped on the gas and the car started moving. Running over a few people, both dead and undead, he left the city as fast as he could.

Orville looked at his desk. Notes were neatly organized, and behind him, a coatrack held his airmans gabardine raincoat and Panama hat. Burning inti his eyes, before him, was a multi page document, sitting neatly on his oak desk. It was only a month into the job, and already, while enjoying himself, was looking forward to the long weekend combining up the next day. He had even made a number of shepard's pies, bought a brand new RV for the weekend and the summer, and made a grand effort to prepare to make the most of the long weekend. He even pre-packed the RV for the weekend.

The bill before him was one of the less pleasant bills. An anti-weed initiative, requesting additional funding for city park gardening operations. He was already through the first few pages, and he was already feeling like voting against this bill in the next council meeting. Being in his office, he turned on his radio. The emergency broadcast began. The broadcast spoke of a new virus plaguing the world. While sounding frightening, it wasn't long before his intern cane in with the papers he asked for earlier, and he had to shut off the radio, cutting off his link to the news.

Seattle–Tacoma International Airport

BEFORE OUTBREAK

Fortunately, her credit card had been filled with money needed to rent a room at the airport hotel. This problem was not just her, but so did the others. Reports of angriness and tire had came from the passengers and the airport staffs were doing anything they could by now, even offered a free breakfast for the next morning as well as discounted prices for the rooms, or free for the ones without the money needed to rent one. She got the discounted one, and she was on her way to there. It was quite a night when she arrived and booked her room, when she saw...

She arrived in her room, just in time to opened and peeked from inside her room when she saw one mother being attacked by her children, it was a horrible sight. She put the chair at the door, and locked the door, before tried frantically to called her parents to no avail, since the line was busy. Panicked, she decided to opened a bottle of water and drank it entirely, calmed down, finally.

But now she might be trapped, and there might be no way out. Unless she makes her own way out...

The work day ended today around 4:30, being a Friday on a long weekend didn't change that much. Looking at his clock, that was in around half an hour, and then the end of day board meeting would commence for the next hour. Orville looked at the papers sitting on his desk. Extra notes to help with the bill, and a new one he was working on to improve funding for the healthcare industry to help reduce the costs of healthcare for people.

The clock ticked, 4:20 as he continued to look at his papers. Suddenly, a shock took storm outside his house as what looked to be a riot was developing. He swivelled his chair around, and looked outside. Thousands of people were marching down the street, and a wall of riot police were pressed up against them. The area behind the triple wall of cops was eerily empty but the cops were moving back, solely but surely.

Being near the end of the day, Orville, assuming the situation below was another strike, packed up his desk work into his briefcase, and with nothing left of crucial importance on or in his desk that could risk investigation if it was stolen, he went to the board meeting. Now 4:30.

Orville sat in the boardroom, listening to the monotone voices of the other people, most of whom seemed just as interested in getting home for the long weekend as he did. Today's meeting didn't have a lot to cover, the most important piece being some kind of new super virus that was sweeping the country, and the introduction of a new book to school libraries, and a new sandwich in the downstairs cafeteria, in that order. So after Roberts rules allowed a polite motioning to adjourn, he quickly seconded the chairperson. Soon after they adjourned, came the eerie march of boots up the steps, and soldiers filled the office, intent on getting the city bigwigs out of the city safely.

Hurried, he was marched down into the parking lot and told to get into their car. Not wanting to leave his car behind, and being near the edge of the city, he asked if he could take his RV. The soldiers running short on time, and room, agree on condition that he take soldiers with him, and follow. Without cause or ability to disagree, he agreed, and he got into the back middle seat, while 4 other soldiers jumped practically brand spanking new recreational vehicle, and took off to get out of the city. The road they were on would take them out if the city, and towards his parents farm, where he had his 1930's Auburn Parked, but it would also take him, the soldiers, and his fellow bureaucrats, towards the Washington safe zone.

Orville was pleased that due to the long weekend, the city had allowed him to leave early. The day before he and the board had discussed something about a sickness going around, but it didn't seem like much to be concerned over. It was scary, sure, no one would want to get it, or be near those with it, but the chances of contraction seemed slim. Orville lined up his golf club on the country club range. Making sure that no one was behind him, or beside him to be whacked, he swung. The green ball flew into the air like Christmas wrapping paper tied to a hot air balloon.

Behind him a club attendant seemed to be shuffling towards him. Setting up his next ball, and aware of the man behind him, he turned around. The man looked dreadfully pale. Careful to avoid harming him, he lowered his club. "Hello, sir". The man didn't respond. Orville suspected that the man was in a bad mood that day, and didn't bother continuing. "Would you be able to stand behind the yellow line sir?" Orville asked politely. As he moved his club back, the biter shuffled back. "Good man". As he went to hit the ball he swiped through and hit the ball across the field. As the club moved forward, the walker moved forward as well, intent on biting Orville. But was took out when the club came back over his shoulder. The biter fell over onto the grass. Orville felt bad for walking the man. Until he noticed that the man wasn't living. He wasn't breathing. His flesh was pale, and his eyes were white. His uniform was filthy, and blood was in his teeth. Screams poured from the country club, as people ran out. From the windows he could see chaos erupting inside the clubhouse. The biter was still by Orville's legs, so he backed up, and grabbed his bucket of balls and took off, throwing a two dollar bill at the walker, as both a tip, and apology for hitting him, though softly, in the torso. "Sorry, Wilbur" he told the fallen biter as he tossed the money down to the walker. Taking off, clubs and balls in hand, he went for his RV in the parking lot.

The RV was there as expected. He soon hoped in, and seeing the chaos and Carnage outside, put the pedal to the metal and took off. His gas tank, at full.

(Before infection)
Simon brushed his hair from his face and leaned against his rake, looking at the pile of leaves he had raked up. Deciding he had done enough for now, he put aside his Rake and headed to his house, pulling a cigarette pack out of his pocket and lighting one up, before heading inside. He checked the fridge for something to snack on, and decided that he needed to make a stop to the store to restock. And so, he changed out of his work clothes and in to his leather riding clothes, grabbed his helmet and his keys, and headed out to town.

(During infection)
Simon rode his motorbike in to town, and what he found there wasn't exactly what he had expected. It was chaos. Some people eating others, some running away, some fighting back. He slowed his bike, watching someone be taken down by one of the people who were eating the others. Revving his engine, he sped off down the road, dodging around various abandoned vehicles, and also some occupied ones that were trying to get out of town. Meanwhile, he made a beeline for the store. Pulling his bike up outside, he quickly headed in, trying to avoid drawing attention to himself.
Times are looking grim these days~

"How do you find that hammer, by the way?"
Flak set down the hammer in question on the deck next to a puddle. It was about two inches longer than those used by most tradesmen and the four extra ounces of steel felt considerably heavier at the end of that lengthier shaft. The young man looked up from where he knelt to regard Andy, the middle-aged carpenter he was assisting with the formwork for the next concrete pour, "It's got it's pros and cons," he admitted, "harder to aim but you don't have to swing it as hard, and you get more leverage for pulling nails and it kicks arse at demolition since it's pretty much half-way to being a sledgie."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
"But harder to aim, right?"
"Aye."
"That must explain all these then," Andy remarked, gesturing to the half-dozen or so bent and discarded nails scattered around where Flak was working.
"Nah," Flak laughed, "That's just cos I'm shite with a hammer!"
"Just swing it hard and you won't miss," the chippy advised and Flak nodded and started rummaging through one of his work pants' pockets. "What're you doing?" Andy asked.
"If I swing hard and I do miss, I'll end up crushing my fingers," Flak explained, "Just let me get my gloves on."
Andy shrugged and went back to his own work. Dark haired, approaching his fifties and heading well on the way towards fat, Andy was regarded by most on site as a pretty good carpenter, who had apparently learned his trade in the Army and later served during the first Gulf War. He was friendly and had time for anyone that would not waste it, which meant he often got paired up with the apprentices and the more skilled or experienced labourers who could actually learn something useful. This latter category included Flak. His teaching methods were pretty typical of most tradesmen; point out what the student was doing wrong and poke good natured fun at them until they asked for help or figured it out themselves. Flak liked working with him.
Along with several other workers, Flak and Andy were up on scaffolds above the ninth floor of what would eventually be a thirty-something storey office building, setting up the plywood boxing and steel reinforcement over which the concrete of floor number ten would be poured tomorrow morning - if the rain stopped, which seemed unlikely. The project was already falling days behind schedule thanks to a whole bunch of the crew being off sick with some bug, so of course the bosses were finding the weather just peachy. Around them in every direction the city of Seattle sprawled, skyscrapers jutting up around them as monolithic giants of glass and steel, and here Flak was; just a worker ant constructing yet one more. It was a familiar thought and yet one he actually found far from humbling. In years to come he would be able to look at this building (in pictures, probably; he would be long done with his travels by the time it was complete) and say "I built that; I laid those foundations; I framed those walls; I spent two whole days on the jackhammer when some dickhead fucked up the formwork and wet concrete spilled out everywhere on level seven." There was a kind of immortality in that; a satisfaction - something he reckoned he never would have found in a law office.
"Guys, hey guys!" The shout came from down below. Holding onto the scaffold Flack peered over and found Mike grinning up at him. The teen labourer was holding a tape measure between his legs with the tongue extended straight out for about four metres. "Reckon I could measure my dick with this?" he asked.
Andy rolled his eyes and went back to work. On the scaffold Flak could make out a few others pointedly ignoring what was going on. No-one really liked Mike; he was a lazy obnoxious pain in the arse who spent more time using his phone than any tools but, as the son of one of the company owners, he was an irritation you could not get rid of - so basically like herpes.
Flak pulled his own tape measure - one of the few on site that had metric as well as imperial; his refusal to use American measurements had become a running joke - from his toolbelt and tossed it at Mike, shouting, "Nah mate; that thing's in inches; you need something with millimetres!"
Mike caught the tape on reflex (since Flak had aimed for his head) just as his own snapped and went flacid in his hand. Andy and a few others started laughing. "Hey," Mike shouted, "Hey fuck you ass-woah!"
Flak saw the flash of the explosion before he heard it; a deep, rain-muffled rumble that seemed to shake the buildings to its foundations. He spun in time to see the fireball above the buildings a few blocks away.
"Holy shit," muttered Andy.
"That was the Seven-Eleven gas station," Flak breathed, "I got my coffee there on the way in this morning."
"Shit."
"Yeah."
Andy shook his head, "Think anyone's hurt?"
"Fuck knows. Probably."
They watched for several minutes, stunned and saying very little, as smoke rose and reflected firelight glittered off the glass facades of buildings between them and the blaze. Everyone else had stopped work as well. Flak wondered why there was no sound of emergency sirens yet; the nearest fire station was only a block away and they usually heard the trucks being called out at least once a day.
No sirens but after a few minutes came the sharp squawk of an air horn. Three consecutive blasts; the site evacuation warning. Flak slid between the bars of the scaffold and lowered himself down to the floor before retrieving his tape measure from Mike and running to grab his backpack from the temporary shelter they had set up for lunch breaks.
"You know you're meant to leave that, right?" Andy chastised, appearing behind him.
"I'm on barely above labourer's wages," Flak muttered, stuffing his respirator and hard hat back into the bag, "Think I can afford to replace any of this stuff?"
"Could be a drill?"
"Do you think it's a drill?" Flak asked, waving a hand at the pyre a few streets away. Andy said nothing but silently grabbed his nail gun.
The stairs leading down gradually filled with other builders as they got lower. There was one temporary lift cage running the height of the tower but it was supposed to be left alone in an emergency. Still, Flak saw it make a couple of trips as he descended. The consensus of most of the grumbling around him seemed to think that the evacuation was just precautionary because of the explosion up the road. Maybe someone in the office thought it had come from on-site. It was only when he reached the fifth or so floor that Flak saw someone in an orange hi-vis point towards the ground and say "Fuck, look at that!"
The wire-mesh fence bordering the work site was surrounded by people with more arriving by the second. Figures were fleeing down the road away from the blaze at the gas station. Others were throwing themselves at the fence itself. Already they had formed a crush eight or ten bodies deep. As the hubbub of disgruntled tradesmen died, Flak heard another sound: screaming.
As he looked, Flak's attention was drawn to a blonde-haired woman in a plaid shirt and black hot-pants. She was hobbling as though missing a shoe. Several other people sprinted past her, then on caught up and tackled her to the ground. Within seconds she disappeared beneath three more attackers and Flak watched on in dread and confusion as together they started to beat - no, tear at the woman on the ground. It went on for several sickening seconds until the assailants seemed to abruptly lose interest and got up. One carried on down the road; the other three joined the press against the fence.
The woman's abandoned body lay prone and still for a few moments. Five strories up, Flak could still make out the blood. Then she got up, looked around once, and went towards the fence.
The fence gave way. People flooded into the building site.
In the stairwell the tide of people suddenly changed. Instead of a calm, swift downward procession there was a confused upwelling of bodies as people many floors below tried to turn and climb back up. Flak saw Mike on the landing below slip and go down beneath the surface of hard hats and fluro. He did not reappear.
There was a tugging on his backpack. Andy was pulling him out of the stairwell, through a door that led onto the fifth floor. Flak allowed himself to be pulled.
Someone was shouting. A few other people were peering over the edges at the insanity unfolding beneath. Flak thought he was going to throw up. His legs buckled and he felt his body hit concrete. Andy appeared in front of him. "Flak," she shouted, shaking him by the bag straps, "Flak, son, we gotta get out of here. Climb down the scaffold on the outside. Come on!"
Flak was hauled to his feet and started drunkenly making for the scaffolding that encased the lower levels of the building's exterior, vaguely aware of Andy beside him. A few other people had the same idea as them and had abandoned the stairwell to scale the outside like spiders. Flak locked eyes with one man about his age as he lowered himself from the floor above.
Downstairs there came the shrieking sound of tearing metal. Three sharp bangs echoed up from beneath and Flak saw the other man's eyes go wide in fear. Then he was gone. The entire scaffold buckled and collapsed like a roll of dominoes, crashing to the ground in a panic of steel poles, wooden planks and screaming human beings.
There were screams in the stairwell now. No-one was trying to go down that way any more; everyone was pushing to get out onto whatever floor was nearest. There was a new sound among the screams now; a wet, rasping, many-mouthed groan. Whatever was happening downstairs was travelling up. Adrenaline starting to bring him to his senses, Flak glanced around frantically for another way down. "The lift!" he shouted.
Andy looked as though he had not heard. "Huh?"
"The fucking elevator!" Flak screamed, flapping his arm wildly at the lift cage assembly off to their right. They ran for it, finding it stopped on the floor below. Andy hammered the call button desperately and repeatedly and it started to rise. By the time it was halfway between floors they hand already climbed over the railing and lowered themselves onto it. Flak clattered against the side of the cage and gasped, "What the fuck is going on?"
Andy just shook his head and stared blankly. The cage started to descend. On the fourth floor something threw itself at the cage's doors with an animal snarl. They were down to the third floor when the first body fell from above.
At first Flak thought the poor fucker must have slipped off the edge somehow. Then he dared to look up. Three more people were standing on the outside of the buildings, holding onto the railings with grim, fearful faces while others climbed over. As he watched, one of them leapt off, screaming as he fell.
More people started to jump. Even as he forced himself not to ask the question, Flak wondered if they were really trying to escape, if they thought the fall was actually survivable, or if oblivion was simply preferable to whatever was coming up those stairs. He clung to the sides of the cage, shaking. Screwing his eyes shut did nothing to shut out the sound of each scream that was cut off by a wet, bone breaking thud.
"Come on!" Andy was shaking him again, "Flak, come on!" They were on the ground now. Andy pushed open the elevator doors and dragged Flak out, only to stop as something hit the ground right in front of them. Before Flak could even process what it was, it lifted its head and let out an angry snarl. Not everyone who jumped was being killed. There were whimpers, anguished moans coming from some of the crippled bodies lying on the tarmac. Others were not moaning; by whatever limbs they had available, they were actively dragging themselves to the ones who were.
"My truck." Andy instructed. Somehow the words seemed to penetrate to Flak. Andy's pickup was parked where it always was; at the nearest edge of the sight carpark. They ran again, somehow ignored in the carnage around them. By now most of the creatures (at some point Flak had stopped thinking the word "people") seemed to have swarmed the building or otherwise be occupied with less ambulatory fare. They reached the truck, opened the doors, climbed in and slammed them shut.
Flak was immediately sick.

Sherry Alhuma

"Oh my god oh my god oh my god," said Sherry, panicked and extremely worried. On the outside, the infection really went strong, while in the television an Emergency Broadcast is on the run, explaining to not get outside and to stay inside. But it is too bad since inside the room there's almost no food safe for some snacks, and two glass bottles of water.

She needs to get outside, she sat down first, prayed for safety. It was done, she went to the bathroom and washed her face. She took the toothbrush, the paste, the bottles of water, and the snacks. Pulling out almost all of her belongings except for few clothes, powerbank, her small bag, and charger inside her big bag.

"What I should I pick, what should I pick?" said Sherry to herself, looking for something to defend herself. She looked at one of the glass inside the bathroom, she dropped it to the ground and picked up the largest shard of glass. Now ready to head out, she opened the door slowly, peeking outside. Save for a dead body, it is empty.

Closing her nose because of the smell, and extremely scared but tried to be determined to escaped, she walked out from her room and slowly walked to the stairs...or lift, if possible.

"Dr. Alex Hamilton, I regret to inform you that the President of the United States has invited you to dinner with his family in the White House." His Fiancé jokes as he slightly altered the content of the letter.
The couple was driving to a concert for the Seattle Symphony, one of the many things they had arranged days prior.
"I guarantee they didn't say that, just because I'm a republican doesn't mean they'd make such assumptions about my disposition." laughed Alex, turning left at a particularly busy part of the road.
"Ok, ok, they just want to meet you. There's apparently talk of you becoming Ambassador Hamilton."
"I see. Well, you'll just have to come with me if that's the case. I can't exactly go trotting off to a foreign nation without my second in command now can I?"
A stop light came into view, and subconciously prompted Alex to turn on the radio:

"We're no strangers to love.
You know the rules, and so do I.
A full commitment's what I'm, thinking of.
You wouldn't get this from, any other guy"

"Jesus Christ I'm changing it." moaned Alex, much to the behest of his Fiancé who was actually enjoying the song quite a bit.
As they drove, things became eerie, much more quiet, and considerably darker in a manner only noticable by Alex, and these differences were so prevalent, that he couldn't avoid tearing up the left side of an approaching sedan. The accident jolted them both, but was clearly not enough to cause injury or massive damage to either car.
Alex was embarrassed.
"I'll get out, you can stay in. Its better that way if this guy turns out to be a whackjob."
Without waiting for an answer, he moved swiftly from the vehicle and approached the owner of the other vehicle.
"What the hell man, why don't you watch where the fuck you're going?" Spouted the clearly peeved driver of the sedan.
"My apologies sir, I'm willing to pay for any and all damages, this was my fault, I was distracted. I can pay you now or we can call the cops if you'd like?."
The man shook his head.
"I'd rather not get the police involved, the less paperwork I have to go through the better. I appreciate you're willing to pay. I'd say it looks like about 25 hundred worth of-"

Screaming.
Bloodcurdling Screaming.
A few of the cars around the duo slowed to a halt, and became the source for screams and panic, blood being sprayed from the windows and against the windshield.
"What the fuck. What the hell is that? What's wrong with that guy?!"
One of the individuals inside a vehicle had broken the window.
He looked hungry, but otherwise completely normal, aside from the human Larynx hanging from his blood filled mouth.
"Jesus Christ. Theres more than one. They're zombies. This can't be happening."
The man panicked, and attempted to start his car.
It failed.
Again, and Again, and Again it failed.
People were getting free from the cars now.
"Get in my car, we need to get the hell out of here."
Alex ran back to his car, the man following, and entered to see an oblivious Matthew playing some dumb video game.
"Oh hey, wait what the fuck are you doing in our car man?"
He posed to the visibly terrified stranger in the backsear.
"Something's happening Matt, something horrific. They're eating each other, or at least that's what it looks like."
Thats when the alarms started.

Joseph Steel. Just west of Darrington, WA

Joseph was busy flipping through the channels, but then realized he had something in Arlington, WA to pick up, So he found a spot to turn around and did so. As he traveled back west he went around the towns he could on back roads, but finally came to Arlington after 30 minutes of driving and slowly drove into town, using the trucks modified bull bar to push cars to the side.

"Easy son. Easy."
Not taking his eyes from the road, Andy risked removing one hand from the steering wheel for a moment to rub Flak's back as he hunched over the semi-digested remains of the tuna mayo sandwich, apple and cereal bar that had all landed between his legs. Reasonably sure that the retching had stopped, Flak spat away the thread of saliva that still connected him to the food from his coffee break and looked up over the dashboard.
When he saw what was happening in the streets around them, he wished he had never looked.
"I'm going to the airport," Andy announced, steady eyes remaining fixed on the road and speaking with alarming calm, "If you want, I can drop you off somewhere on the way?"
Andy's home had burned down two weeks ago, Flak remembered; something to do with the oven in his neighbour's house, which had gone up as well. His family were staying at a hotel by the airport while they waited for the insurance money to come through. They chose one near SeaTac because it was neatly between his work in Seattle and and the kids' schools in Tacoma, where they had been living before. Of course Andy would be heading there first.
Flak shook his head. He lived in Wallingford on the north side of town. His housemates would be at work and the idea of going to look for them or any of his friends in this mess filled him with dread. Where would he even start to look, on his own? In the truck with Andy was as safe as it was going to get for now.
Andy avoided the interstate and other packed major roads out of the city that, on an ordinary day, could have got him to the airport in under half an hour, instead weaving and skidding his way through the rainswept grid of city streets and, as often as possible, ignoring them entirely to cut straight across the expansive car parks of the Industrial District. He paid no heed to speed limits, other vehicles or even any of the horrific scenes they swerved to evade on the way. Sitting in a gradually cooling pool of his own vomit, white-knuckled hands gripping the dashboard, Flak could focus on little else.
After navigating South Park they made it onto 8th Avenue where Andy managed to gun the engine for all it was worth down the ruler-straight suburban road. It was quiet here. Apart from a single SUV they passed, crashed into a tree and abandoned, there was nothing that would visibly suggest anything of the hell that was unfolding downtown. Yet even over the roar of the pickup's engine, they could hear the screaming from inside the houses.
They swerved hard left across the car park of a garage before a Chevron gas station and smashed through a chain link fence. At this point Flak had no idea where they were going but a few seconds and another fence later they were off road and thundering across the open runways of SeaTac airport. Two jets were burning together on one strip. A few silhouettes scattered dazedly across the field had their attention seized by the truck and began chasing after it. Ignoring them, Andy weaved between the terminal buildings towards the airport highway.
The northbound road was basically empty of vehicles; the southbound road had suffered a mass pileup. Wrecked cars smouldered in front of the departures terminal and, as Andy pulled to a brief halt to find a way across, a red sedan on the edge of the fire exploded, spitting burning debris onto several other nearby cars to continue the chain reaction that would probably last until it either ran out of fuel or the rain finally doused it. Flak thought he could make out movement in some of the cars but he heard no screams or shouts for help over then engine's idling hum, only the same infernal snarling of the creatures at the building site.
Zombies, a part of his brain reminded. The word had always been there in his mind - ever since he first saw the beaten woman in the flannel shirt get up and, as though asleep, shuffle towards the perimeter fence - and yet somehow he had kept it locked away in his subconscious. It was too outlandish - too insane to be real. But looking at the bloodied figures still moving towards them in the rear view mirror, Flak was able to admit it to himself. What other explanation was there?
Andy shunted the truck back into gear and manoeuvred gently to the front of the pileup where the road was still clear and they were able to cross both lanes. The Crowne Plaza Hotel was directly in front of them, with a few casualties of the outbreak staggering aimlessly between the cars in the parking lot. They perked up when they saw the truck arrive and started moving towards it.
"You still got your hammer? Flak! Have you still got your hammer?"
"What? Uh..." Flak looked down at his toolbelt, "Yeah. Yeah, I've got it."
"Don't wack out on me, son. You follow me, okay? Watch my back and if you see any of those things coming I want you to brain 'em. We good?" Andy spoke slowly and clearly, enunciating every syllable while gripping Flak's shoulder firmly in a manner that was meant to be reassuring or encouraging.
"Uh, shouldn't someone watch the truck?" Flak asked nervously. The hotel windows were dark as though the power had gone out but he was sure he could still see things moving inside.
"Against who? They won't bother with the truck if no-one's inside it."
Flak could make out a note of command in Andy's voice that he had never heard before. Andy Burnham the carpenter never gave orders; it was always a suggestion or at most a request; "Could you pass me that power saw?" "It'd be handy if you swept up here." This was Corporal Burnham talking. While Flak was sitting there, possibly going into shock in a pair of damp work trousers, Andy had switched back into soldier mode. No wonder was acting so coolly. He must have clocked what was going on ages ago.
"Okay," he breathed, and rolled his shoulders to stop himself shaking before undoing his seatbelt, "Okay let's do it.
The truck pulled up in front of the Crowne Plaza's glass entrance doors. The nearest zombie was about a hundred yards away, with more navigating the parked cars close behind.
"Pull those doors shut once we're in," Andy ordered, "and try and lock them. Maybe it'll hold them for a bit so we only have to deal with what's inside and not out."
Flak nodded. The zombie was getting closer now.
"Go!"
They both rolled out of the truck, with Flak darting round the front to join Andy at the door. Without power the automatic doors slid open with a push and Flak thumbed the latch to lock one of them in place as they went through. He saw Andy with a screwdriver, trying for a moment to do something work the lock of the other one without a key before giving up and just pulling it closed behind them. Hopefully the zombies would just struggle with sliding doors. At least the glass looked thick.
Stopping only long enough to catch a quick breath and turn back to see the scattered horde still advancing, Flak pursued Andy into the hotel foyer.
He drew his hammer out of its loop.

Orville drove out of the city. It's sights and sounds enough to concern even the hardest man, women or child. His objective being getting to his family farm on the outside of the city. As he drove, he saw 5 military trucks drive by, into the city, and 2 trucks leaving the city behind him.

Orville looked to his passenger side mirror briefly, and saw a man going down on another individual and, like a vampire, had teeth latched to his neck.

Elizabeth "Effy" Walker
Effy had wandered off away from the brunt of the mayhem in the city area, deciding to just stick with being in the area of the high school instead. Not at the high school, because fuck high school, but around the area. Not that anybody was even doing anything at school right now, beyond likely panicking and freaking out, trying to find their families or mauling each other, but that was just more reason to stay away. It helped that the backpack she had, which she had on her now, was already conveniently full of stuff, because she automatically threw a bunch of weird stuff in there out of her daily way of holding things, somehow never getting busted for the things that she had in said backpack. Nothing particularly apocalypse useful, but again, she didn't care. In fact, she didn't even bother calling her parents, which was fine considering the lines were busy at this point anyway from being overly flooded. Instead, she went straight towards something she knew about, a car, to try and steal it, because it was apparently the damn apocalypse, so might as well make the most of it, right?

Eventually, miraculously managing to dodge most of the chaos since it was a less busy area of town, she found the car, which was a nice Lotus Exige. Immediately, she went to picking the lock instead of just smashing the window open, preferring a functioning car, and eventually got the door open, but the downside is that it was a rich person that wasn't stupid, and the car alarm immediately went off. She jumped into the inside of the car at that point, slamming the door shut to make sure none of the infected people could get her, then went to trying to hotwire the car. To anybody nearby, her location was rather obvious now, including the zombies, who were beginning to be drawn to the sounds in her area...

Thea Okonedo
Thea had been stuck at her school for a while, until her parents showed up to pick her up, because the lines were too busy and her parents arrived by the time that they managed to get to her to call out to her parents. It was a bit chaotic for her parents to get there, since things were a mess in town, but they eventually made it, and once they found each other, they immediately embraced each other, Thea holding on tight to her parents like she was clinging on them for dear life.

"It's okay baby, mamas here" Thea's mother commented, her father also hugging her, the poor girl clearly scared out of her mind. She had thought that for a moment, she wasn't going to see her parents again at all, because things just had to go bad while they were separated. But like good parents, they immediately came for her, to get her safe. Though what was safe at this point? The school? The road? Their house? They had no idea, but all they could do was take Thea out of there, and back to their car, because if anything was better than nothing, it was them all being there together, and not being stuck in the mess that had become of the school with the teachers trying to find all of the frightened children's parents, and contacting them when literally everyone was trying to call each other and make sure family was okay.

"Are we going to go home?" Thea asked, though despite maybe acting like it, she wasn't a really young child, so she understood well enough that just simply going home was most likely wishful thinking. She was 12, she was old enough to understand this more so than someone too much younger than her might be able to. She noticed her parents already appeared to have packed up quite a lot, as if expecting not to be staying at home. She climbed into the back seat, frowning deeply, still terrified out of her mind. You could just hear the chaos around you, even if it wasn't currently directly AT you, and you could imagine how much something like that tore into a child mentally.

"I don't know honey, I don't know" Her mom said. They were going to try, to maybe get some other stuff that they might need that they decided wasn't worth it enough to get right now while making sure that they would be with their daughter, but they really didn't know if it would really count as going home, or if they would even make it there at all. They started up the car, dad driving, heading back home, while mom just tried to do her best to try and keep Thea from completely panicking, which was only sort of working.

"You got to be fucking shitting me. Out of all times it has to be now that a damn car alarm goes off." Joseph said to himself as he had just pulled into a house. He got out of the truck, grabbed his AR-15, and the Shotgun loading both, putting a round in the chamber of both, and added a round to the AR's mag and another shell into the shotguns tube. He then carefully made his way to the sound of the car alarm, when He came to a fence. He gripped the top of the wooden fence and climbed over the fence.

He dropped down and was immediately attacked by a trapped Zombie. Joseph was tackled to the ground. As the Zombie tried to bite Joseph he jammed his left forearm into it's throat and pulled his Bowie Knife out. He quickly pulled his left arm away and stabbed with the right, bury the Knife in the Head of the Zombie killing it.

Joseph shoved the now body off of him, and got to his feet. He kept going towards the sound of the car alarm, and saw Zombies closing in on a young girl in a car and he shook his head. He waved at the car as he was to the front and left of the car about 75 yards from it. He then saw a Zombie started beating on the driver's window. He pulled the AR off his back, sighted the Zombie, and pulled the trigger killing the Zombie, but also advertising his location to the Zombies and the person in his car due to to the rifle noise.

Sherry Alhuma

Walking from the fourth floor to the first floor sounds easy on paper, but on practice? It is harder.

First, with the elevator not working (she tried the buttons several times to no avail), the emergency stairs is the only option. With her suitcase it's going to be a tiring trip. Second, almost nobody near her aside from screams downstairs and sounds of TV at each rooms. Third, and the last, the undead...the zombie...no one is in front of her, but who knows on the lower floor.

Taking a deep breath, she opened the emergency stairs, and strike her glass ahead, to take care of any threat. Fortunately, no one's there. She closed the door, and started went downstairs. She was about to opened the third floor when she heard, "No! Pleas---ARGH!" sounds outside, followed by sounds of...biting, eating, gurgling. Sherry almost vomited, but able to controlled it. She managed to went to the second floor, and of course when she opened the door of the emergency stairs, she found no one.

"Alhamdulillah." said to herself. Cut short, when a room in front of her was opened, and a zombie, mangled, losing its right hand, walked outside. Trails of blood behind him, and Sherry turned and went back to the stairs. Closed the door, but at the same time she heard sounds of steps on the lower stairs.

She's kind of...trapped. "Oh no," said Sherry, extremely worried, panicked, and about to cries.

Elizabeth "Effy" Walker
"Fuck!" Effy shouted to herself, hitting the steering wheel in frustration. She had hotwired a car before, but it appeared that newer cars didn't have the capability of being hotwired like the car that she had hotwired in the past, because nothing was happening, and now she was stuck in a small little sports car surrounded by zombies. However, she saw a man in front of her waving in her direction, probably trying to get the zombies attention away from her. She let out a scream however as her focusing on the man ended with her hearing a zombie beating on the driver window, them seemingly being smart enough to actually try and break it, though thankfully, not enough to crack it yet, but it tried to beat on it instead of just clawing at it and snapping at it.

However, that was quickly interrupted when the man in front of her shot the zombie, making her gasp and jump, and obviously, it splattering a bit everywhere, which was rather horrifying and gruesome, something she was NOT quite accustomed to yet, despite trying to act like the world was a playground. The noise seemed to distract the zombies from her car with the damn alarm going off, them slowly turning to face Joseph instead. She didn't have any weapons, so it wasn't like she was much use. But she saw this as an opportunity to get out, since they seemed to have become more interested in Joseph than her car with the alarm going off. But her definition of using this as an opportunity might not have been what Joseph had expected, nor wanted...

As soon as it seemed relatively clear, besides one slower one lurking around the car, which she just quickly opened the door on and slammed the door into it rather hard, she jumped out of the car quickly and made a run for it after slamming the door shut again. Not towards Joseph, but towards the house that the Lotus Exige was parked at, to look for the keys for it instead of trying to hotwire it. To nobodies surprise, the house door was locked, but she still had her lockpicks, which she immediately started to utilize...while Joseph was being chased by zombies behind her and the car alarm was still going off.

You have go to be Fucking Shitting me!!!!! I give her a damn distraction and she still wants to steal that damn car. Fuck her." Joseph mumbled under his breath.

He quickly sited and pulled the trigger five times, dropping a Zombie as Hollow Point rounds ripped into it. Then the one of the rounds jammed between the mag and the bolt, Joseph let loose a whole stream of cuss words that would have made a Drill Sargent cry. He let go the AR-15, letting it's strap go tight and went to his side. He then drew his pistol fired off 3 rounds, dropping another Zombie as the group shuffled towards him.

He then turned and ran. Only this time as he lead the group of Zombies down a twisting path in some alley's before finally losing them in the twisting confusing path.

He finally made his way back to his truck and saw a couple Zombies around his truck, so He holstered the pistol, drew the Tomahawk, and threw it at the first Zombie, killing as it buried itself in the Zombies head. He drew his Knife and dispatched the Zombie Quickly with a stab to it's head.

He then recovered the Tomahawk, secured his weapons, fixed the Jam in the AR, jumped in the truck and drove off.

Tanya
11/16/2016

Sunlight poured in through the windows, pastels coming alive with their gentle colors in the cottage. Set aside in a little area away from the busier roads of the city, the cottage certainly lived up to its name. Since she had stepped in her with Natalie, Tanya felt as if she was in a dream. She loved the town as a whole, with it's Victorian architecture intermingling with the more modern buildings. It brought her no end of satisfaction that she could enjoy the view of the homes while going down to Starbucks not far down the road. The best thing, undeniably, was how she could do it all holding the hand of her new wife.
Their honeymoon was...perfect.
As Tanya dressed in a white turtleneck and pants she glanced at a clock in the bedroom. 8 AM. Natalie had left to go grab the both of them some breakfast. The thought of being here rather than in her old classroom teaching history to students who couldn't process dates in time let alone what time of day it was was one she relished. Pretty soon she would be teaching in a new classroom on the East coast, Natalie would be reenlisting back in the army, while her brother and his family would be closer. She just couldn't wait to start the newest chapter in her life, feeling blessed and thankful to God for this. Natalie would've said that they were just lucky, but Tanya believed that divinity played some sort of part in it. Putting on her cross necklace, she left the bedroom and entered the living room, where the TV sat on a wooden dresser with the remote on the coffee table. Stretching herself out on the couch and grabbing the remote, she turned on the morning news.
What came on the TV...horrified her.
The local news showed footage of what appeared to be riots going on in the streets. But it wasn't in protest to anything. No signs or leaders commanding chants graced the screen. Instead, she saw chaos as people were attacking one another. It was as if a war had broken out on the streets, with the sides being citizens attacking other citizens. But war was different; guns and bombs were how wars were done when speeches and negotiations failed. Ripping people limb from limb, tearing them apart, feeding from them...animals did that. These weren't people she was seeing on the screen any longer.
She ran to the bedroom to grab her phone and called Natalie. It felt as if ages had passed listening to the dialtone until Natalie picked up.
"Babe, are you okay!?" Natalie's voice rang loud and clear thought the phone, easing Tanya's heart.
"Yes, I'm fine! But where are you?"
Shouting could be heard on the other end. "Babe, I'm fine, but you need to be careful. Is anyone outside? Don't draw attention to yourself." Natalie was frightened, though Tanya doubted it was from whatever situation they found themselves in.
Holding the phone close, she glanced out the window, seeing nothing. Glancing back in the living room towards the large bay window, she quickly pulled the curtains while trying to stay out of any line of sights she could've been in. "I don't think so, Natalie, I don't see anyone."
A sigh escaped from the other end. "Good. Listen to me babe, and don't panic, okay?" Steeling herself, Tanya listened to what was about to be said. "Get yourself to the police department. There are rescue teams there taking people out to the docks. Ferries are taking people across the bay to the old fort out there, it's the safest place in this city. I have the car, but I can't get to it right now. It's just too dangerous. So you're going to have to go on foot. Take the tiny trail beside the cottage and stay off the main roads. And whatever you do, babe, don't come into contact with anyone else. Whatever is going on, it's most likely a virus of some sort."
"Okay," she replied after taking a moment to contemplate what she had to do. "But what are you going to be doing? Where are you?"
"I met up with a small military force. Right now we're Southwest of where you are, trying to hold off a massive wave." Somewhere in the distance on the other end, Tanya could make out gunfire. "Trust me when I say that I am safe where I am at, but you need to get yourself out to the station. If that's no longer an option, get yourself to the docks. Do whatever it takes. I love you." The line went dead.
Fear took root in her heart. But she had been told what needed to be done, and she trusted her wife. It was why she married her.
5 minutes later, Tanya had grabbed a small backpack and put the med kit that was found in the cottage within. And as a cautious measure, she took a butcher knife from the kitchen, hoping that she wouldn't have to use it. Glancing at the image staring back at her, she could see that that was wishful thinking at best.
Please, God, guide me safely.
That's when a pounding came at the door, as if someone were trying to wrestle it open. From out in the distance, Tanya began to hear faint moans intermingled with bloodcurdling screams of pain and fear.

Leroy sat quietly in the complicated and twisting back alleys he called home, at least at this moment in time. He opened a pack of M&Ms, and his dog friend came over, wagging his tail and tilting his head at the bag.
"No, you can't have any," Leroy said, playfully narrowing his eyes at the dog, who whined in reply. "They're not good for you. Chocolate bad," He said, pouring the M&Ms in to his mouth and grinning at the dog, who looked utterly betrayed. The look earned a laugh from Leroy, causing him to nearly choke on his mouthful of M&Ms, before he pulled out a bag of dog treats from his backpack. He took a bacon strip out of the bag, and waved it in the dog's face, which earned him a happily wagging tail. Also nearly earned him some teeth marks on his hand. "Hey, be nice," He scolded through his mouthful, tossing the treat to the dog, before sitting back to finish his bag of M&Ms.

Kyraina wrote:You have go to be Fucking Shitting me!!!!!

With no TV, Radio, phone or computer, Leroy had no way of knowing about the infection. He only noticed that his dog seemed to be on edge, head lowered, ears pinned back, like he sensed something was wrong. Leroy just assumed he was being moody about something or other, until the dog bared his teeth and growled, facing away from him, down the alleyway. "What is it?" He asked, getting up and grabbing his pocket knife. He went and stood beside the dog, who's hair was raising along his back. It wasn't long before he saw a dog come wandering in to view. He recognized it as one of the other stray dogs in the area, but it looked ill, and badly wounded. Really, he wasn't sure why it was on it's feet. The infected dog limped forward, snarling and drooling, teeth bared.
"Hey, it's OK," Leroy said softly, crouching down, trying to make himself seem less threatening to the dog,"I'll get you some help. You'll be OK."
His dog, on the other hand, could see what he couldn't, and he snarled, snapping at the dog and standing between it and Leroy protectively. As the zombie dog got closer, however, Leroy began to realize that something was wrong. It's eyes were clouded and vacant, and it looked like it had been torn to shreds, it's insides hanging out. Upon seeing this, he stumbled back, eyes flying wide,"What the f-fffudge," He stammered, just as the zombie dog leaped forward, knocking Leroy's dog out of the way and leaping at Leroy, who rolled back just in time for it to land on top of him. He grabbed it's neck, holding back it's snapping jaws and ignoring the claws as they dug in to his torso, trying to get a grip to force it's head close enough to bite him. After a bit of a struggle, and some assistance from his dog, Leroy managed to get his arm up and stab the infected dog in the brain, causing it to fall down on top of him, and it wasn't exactly a particularly small dog. This is why Joseph probably didn't notice him when he ran through the alleys. As Joseph ran by, he was pinned under the dog, off to the side, in the shadows. Managing to shove the dead weight off of him, he grabbed his backpack with shaking hands and swung it over his shoulder, looking in the direction that Joseph had run. He then heard the sound of snarling coming from the opposite direction, and decided that following Joseph might be a reasonable idea. "Dog, come," He said, patting his leg, and the dog ran to his side, following him as he ran after Joseph.
He came running out of the alley just as Joseph was getting in his car to leave, and he ran out in front of the truck, putting his hands out in front of him, trying to keep Joseph from leaving, hoping to get a ride.

Elizabeth "Effy" Walker
Effy noticed that Joseph had started shooting some of the zombies behind her, seemingly clearing out most of them, but not all of them, and then making a run for it, to no surprise by her, though she mostly focused on the unlocking of the door. However, the few that Joseph had run away from were now wandering back in her general area, though heading towards the car alarm instead, not her, to her relief.

Eventually, she managed to successfully pick the lock, and immediately opened the door and shut it behind her, to make sure nobody she didn't want to followed her in. She was pretty sure that the owners of this house were out, because she remembered seeing multiple cars before, and right now, she only saw that sports car she so desperately wanted. So she immediately started to dig around the house, looking for the car keys.

However, there was another issue she didn't think of...Someone with a fancy car also decided it was a rather good idea to have a house alarm as well, and suddenly, that started to blare loudly. "Shit!" She exclaimed, and the alarm was so loud it overpowered the car alarm, the zombies suddenly finding that sound much more interesting. Thankfully, the door was shut, and there was no real way in, but she couldn't exit the same way that she came in anymore. She did start to hear thudding and thumping going on outside on the door, and she was becoming rather tense, even though it wasn't really an immediate threat.

Eventually, she managed to find the car keys, letting out a satisfactory yes. The keys were quite obvious, considering it had a Lotus symbol on them. Now, her only method of escape was out the back door, which she took, and slowly went around towards the front of the house, peaking around a corner to see where the zombies were located. She saw them hanging out by the front door, and made a run for it towards the car, quickly hopping into it, slamming the door shut, putting the key in, turning the key, and attempting to be dramatic with a quick spin out to get the hell out of there, but realizing she didn't know what was where, so instead, while the zombies still seemed to be thankfully distracted by the loud house alarm, she was trying to figure out what buttons were where. But before long, she figured out where the basics were, and got it out of park and into drive, immediately slamming on the gas when she did. Of course, the acceleration caught her a bit off guard, it being quicker than she had expected the take off to be, but she didn't really react much beyond that, though she did jolt herself around a bit by slamming down on the gas then letting it off so she wasn't flying through residential areas insanely fast.

"Jump in the truck, put the dog in the back of the cab, so the back righthand door." Joseph said just loud enough for the Leroy to hear. Joseph saw some of the Zombies come out the alley, He opened up the truck's left side rear door, grabbed the AR, Sighted the AR, and waited to pull the trigger to see if they headed towards the truck.

"Thank you," Leroy said breathlessly, opening the back right hand door. He basically just picked up his dog and shoved him in to the back, the dog was kind of freaked out and may not have cooperated if he just instructed it. Closing the back door, he quickly climbed in to the front passenger seat. As soon as he closed the door, he let out a long sharp breath, not really having had any time to think or process until now. He then took off his jacket, which had been unbutton despite the rain. Doing that made the it clear to see that his black button up shirt was torn and somewhat bloody from the scratched the dog's claws had left on his chest. While somewhat deep, they weren't life-threatening beyond the risk of infection, and were mostly just painful. After examining his wounds, he crossed his arms and hunched his shoulders, trying to steady his shaking.

Leroy looked at the rifle, then nodded to Joseph. He realized he was still clutching his pocket knife, and he shakily stuffed it in to his pocket. "I'm Leroy," He said in reply, taking a few deep breaths, before smiling over to Joseph,"It's nice to meet you, Joseph, even despite the situation." He looked back, trying to see his dog and make sure he was OK. The dog was just cowering in the back seat, looking rather alarmed by everything.
