CONGRESS OF ISHIKAWA

Image

OOC: Okay. Welcome to the congress of Ishikawa. Classic rules such ass human only, MT and seriousness apply always. This is sort of a summit thread, so I want everybody to understand what is happening. This is partially inspired by congress of Vienna - a diplomatic summit taking very informal way of presentation, where among dinning, dancing and discussion important Geo-political topics are moved.

LIST OF TOPICS TO BE DEBATED SO FAR:
- Homofront Terrorism; Kojiro's "Crusade on Terror".
- Economic protectionism, free trade, and integration.
- Military security, alliances.
- Maritime security, Maritime law reforms.
- Energetic security, oil.

I want every nation of yours to know something about those topics and try to get in depth. Your nation has to have formed opinion about those matters - the more encompassing, the merrier.

Also: I want this moving at slow pace. Contrary to my other RPs, I am not requiring ton of writing to be done. You have to, however, post a short bio of your characters upon entry. This does not have to be long, but here is the scheme:

One could say many things of the Nihonese capital; but no one could say that the great city of Ishikawa wasn't imposing. Originally it became the Nihonese capital at times of Chosokame no Yorimoto, the first Christian shogun of the Empire of Greater Nihon; and remained so until this day. When eyes of foreigners looked at it, the glory of past Shoguns, Emperors, statesmen and samurai who ruled from this place instantly came to mind - and somehow, it hadn't passed even among the star - like array of neon lights, towering skyscrapers indicating the modernization and architectural marvels that filled the former capital of Chosokame Bakufu, contracting with the mountains visible in the distance that surrounded it like a high wall protecting it from the foes. Nihon was modernizing - and ironically, the values of the past found perfect application for the modern days. Working culture, contributed to by ethics of Tanzhist philosophy and protestant Christianity brought here in XVI century by missionaries, now so widely accepted by the sons of Amiral Yi, contributed to development to nation that could manufacture a lot, and with high quality. The commercial fleet, and trade with it, was growing, and with Kaigun protecting it, few dared to touch the swarms of commercial ships that flooded the waters. When Murakami Akira and man responsible for the economic miracle, current PM, would leave the office he would eagerly admit that the success surpassed his expectations. Properly designed education system produced people who worked for enormous zaibatsu conglomerates, fueling the one of freest markets in Southern Furukuran sea. And such powerful county had powerful demands.

Nihon lacked natural resources, thus it was basing it's economy on manufacturing and services sector, producing plenty of goods of high quality and cheaper than the competition; yet such industry required enormous resources to be imported to Nihon, then only be put of use. As such, the land of Blazing sun was reliant on the sea for it's economy to function. While Kaigun has been perfectly suited for defeating any enemy - with it's massive submarine fleet always ready to wreck havoc on any foe that dared to mess with the Imperial Nihonese Navy - there were some foes that needed attention. In the past days, competition with European powers was fierce, developing in the Nihonese strong sense of cultural pride and national unity... and now when another European power was on the move, the Nihonese government would likely not receive that well.

At the middle of Ishikawa laid an old palace, surrounded with thick walls built years ago, with it's several roofs towering upon the city's parks and casting shadows upon the mountains, laid the Tosa castle, the old seat of Shoguns. While the cherries started to show first bosoms in the castle's gardens, an older man was sitting, chatting with his several advisors. One could easily say that he was someone important, judging from the uniform he wore - the classic, dark olive uniform of the officer of Imperial Nihonese Army, that contrasted with his gray hair, long cheekbones, and oval face. This man - was Shogun Maki Kojiro himself, current Shogun of Nihon. Some called him semi - authoritarian, some - even worse names, but Kojiro was not a tyrant, although everyone could say that he restricted the powers of the Imperial Diet a lot. "McCarthy of Asia", hero of the right wing and nightmare to the left, Kojiro always caused extreme emotions; some adored him for Nihonese free market economic miracle, and some - hated him with fire for restricting LGBT rights or communist witch hunts.

He was now, in the middle of his palace, with a middle aged woman, aged around 40; her yellow skin visibly contrasted with her raven dark hair aligned in pony tail, while a pair of two, small green eyes scanned area around him, preparing the entire event. Kojiro, although well known figure possessing an enormous degree of Charisma, formerly served in the military intelligence for most of his life; something that taught him preference for secrecy. Maki Shogun, despite his well known abilities to rally the crowd, was rather humble in his attitude and hadn't felt perfect on the banquets; although his skills in faking his real feelings surpassed several Hollywood actors. It thus fell on his foreign affairs minister, Asuka Tokugawa, and his friend, current prime minister and wealthy industrialist Murakami Akira, to organize the event. Akira, a middle aged, short man with an oval face and dark hair was at the heart of this meeting; for him, it was always a good chance to serve Nihon... and do business alike. After all... justly earned money is not evil...

Tokugawa delivered him dossiers from the diplomatic intelligence about who will come and who they are. Maki learned everything he could, studying every person that he had dossier on; after all knowing them would have helped him in conducting negotiations. At the same time, security of the palace was in hands of Commodore Ibuki Ryuta - current head of the naval intelligence, who volunteered to do that. Ryuta owned his position to Kojiro, not to mention lack of any moral stoppings when applying the violence; born among the Nihonese mafia, Ibuki wasn't someone that any terrorist or assassin wanted to do anything with.

Kojiro smiled as he observed the three main halls being prepared. For him, it was a game to be played; Kojiro loved risk, loved game, patiently waited for the moment to execute his move. A lot of chances, but also opportunities to loose were ahead. Yet for the old intelligence officer none of that was bothersome. After all, heavenly father guided over him all the time, and Kojiro never ceased in his devotion to Christ the Emperor. With them on his side, he hoped doing what had to be done - ensuring continuous survival of Nihon.

The guests were coming.... and the grand game begun.

(OOC: Skip the arrivals; I do not want to bother with them. You are on place, just pass through the front doors).

The three halls:

[*] Dining hall: possess three long low tables. Generally decorated for "traditional Nihon" - the walls are decorated with traditional Nihonese paintings portraying most glorious moments from Nihonese history, and there is large collection of samurai armor & weaponry on one of the walls.
People to be met: Maki Kojiro - current Shogun, Asuka Tokugawa - External affairs minister, Takenaka Hachirou - Chairman of Fujita zaibatsu, General Takeda Daisuke of Kaigun Rikusentai, General Ikeda Saburo of the Imperial Nihonese Army.

[*] Dancing hall: Generally mixing traditional Nihonese decorum, mostly related to the sea and maritime activities, with European neoclassicism, of which Kojiro is great fan of. The music will be provided live by Ishikawa Orchestra.
People to be met: Murakami Akira - prime minister, Murakami Takahiro - current chairman of Murakami Zaibatsu, Admiral Kobayashi Shinji of the Imperial Nihonese Navy, Admiral Inoue Kenshin of the Imperial Nihonese navy, Nakahara Yoshirou - chairman of Tsukumo zaibatsu, Admiral Mizushima Katsuro of the Imperial Nihonese Navy.

Square cabinet: Smaller room where only the most important figures will be allowed to later on for more formal negotiations. Modern apparition.

The New Edomite government began making overtures towards attending the summit through the Foreign Ministry nd the embassy as well as through Princess Jocasta, the Heir, who had something of a friendship with the daishogun. The old statesman-warrior and the young strong willed heir apparent had some mutual admiration in it, perhaps.

King Elijah was very busy managing a number of regional crises as well as the administrative, infrastructural and economic concerns of his country and already had two other summits to attend. Queen Mara, while admired and good hearted, was not in sufficient health to go, so this left the Heir to visit. However she would be accompanied by the newly appoinated ambassador to Nihon, Count Adam Ram-Gilead, an elderly but still hearty man who had been Foreign Minister to King Josias II and later an ambassador to the Imperium of Arbites. Lately he had done academic work kbut also a lot of committee work in the government reforms over the last four years. By now he was 74 but still well able to travel, lived an active life and had an active mind.

The concerns presented to the government of NIhon wer the following:
- Dealing with the supporters of Homofront and exposing where the rot lay.
- Dealing with balancing human rights concerns with preventing the spread of atheism and leftism
- Improving trade between SACTO members
- Improving cross training among allies and scheduling larger scale operations, particularly Naval and Air Force exercises.
"The three articles of Civil Service faith: it takes longer to do things quickly, it's far more expensive to do things cheaply, and it's more democratic to do things in secret." - Jim Hacker "Yes Minister"

Name: Major-General Charlomann Osswouck
Age: 54
Family & Relationships:
-Wife: Hulda (Née Wenzichund) Osswouck
-Children:
--Thanckmaar Osswouck
--Roland Osswouck
--Héidi Osswouck
Occupation & history:
Charlomann Osswouck was born in Schaarlwa (Charlua), the Principality of Allemania to a landowning family in 1962, his father being famed soldier, politician and businessman Sigmund Osswouck. He studied a combined course of international relations and military history at St. Merowech’s College, sponsored by the army on condition he serve for 5 years. So, having obtained a First, he attended Chléixenhoern Military Academy for officer training, and then onto Yssengaardkazérne for armoured warfare training. He was commissioned into the Hlasschaart Carabiniers, a tank regiment in 1985. Civil War broke out in 1987 between a former Chancellor; Hildobert Jasson and the then current chancellor; Gundebricht Zwouckérte over legitimacy claims. Charlomann, a Captain, lead a tank company on Ulfwoorde, Jasson’s stronghold. This was his only action in the two month war. By 2000, he was commanding his brigade; 9th (Armoured) Brigade. By this time too, he was married to Hilda Wenzichund, a Salian noblewoman and had had their first child; Thanckmaar. Action came in 2005 when he, amongst most senior military officers launched a coup against Chancellor Wiedo Zallherich’s Socialist-Wodinist Bloc that came to dominate parliament in what has long been known as a botched election. Charlomann’s brigade advanced on and engaged a Gendarmerie Air Base at Chlossou which refused to surrender and its aircraft harassing ground troops. For his role, and having been acquainted with the coup instigator; Field Marshal Elerich Jawoerkund, Charlomann was given a minor cabinet seat in the new military government. In 2012, having increased his popularity and showed loyalty as well as competence, Jawoerkund made him his deputy and potential successor.
Political believes & Stance on Nihon:
Charlomann was brought up in a Catholic family, conservative fiscally and socially. His upbringing enhances his current views. Like many Gauliscians, he is a strong believer in free will, so whilst on a personal level he is opposed to prostitution, homosexuality and even recreational drugs, he sees no issue in their legality. Though, he is strongly against gay marriage and abortion. He believes strongly in letting businesses do what they want and keeping the government out of personal lives. Charlomann supports a strong military and string foreign ties.

Nihon is little cared for by the Gauliscians, not through contempt but lack of knowledge and relevancy. Charlomann is of the view that Nihon is an essential force behind combatting the red menace and supports many of its doctrines, however, thinks that the government is very authoritative.
Psychological profile:
Charlomann retains the manners of a high born man, but is known for not being very direct and often flowering answers to disguise what he actually means. Whilst not selfish, he pursues his own personal goals before those of the state and wider people. And, though not unkind to most, is willing to put down someone who affronts him.

Gauliscian Delegation,
Tosa Castle, Ishikawa
Empire of Greater Nihon

Though in the high halls of Clovisburg most affairs were of a military nature, occasionally a foreign hand needed to be shaken with a firm and virile grip in order that Gauliscia may exercise friendliness but also strength. Who better to send than the deputy himself? Battle-hardened, wisened beyond his years and this was reflected by a greying hair. Major-General Charlomann Osswouck, son of recently departed Sigmund Osswouck from whom was inherited land, insomuch as power and influence. It had been a lengthy course to Nihon, a flight deep into the Orient, where few Gauliscians had been before. As such, Charlomann's eyes only wished that they be able to close and grant their wearer a long and deep sleep. Alas, matters of great import were necessary to be taken up with the Shogun, in addition to simply introducing himself yet more importantly, putting the name of Gauliscia in the mind of the shogun, that he may be aware of it in future times. Like an otter weaves through sea kelp on the bobbing surface, such was the movement of Charlomann through the nameless hordes that had inundated the castle floor. Undoubtedly, the Schoegun would be constantly harried by the likes of himself, smaller nations hoping for favour and fortune from him. Finally, having waited with great patience, dropping kind remarks liberally here and there amongst the people, a break came in conversations, he took his chance.
"O Shogun;" He declared, making a low and sweeping bow. "If ever my nation has dishonoured you, let me know that I am the most unhonoured of mortals. Otherwise, may I introduce myself and my nation?"

Gauliscia is a Wodinist and germanic parliamentary democracy headed by a monarch. The Stalwart Boar Party in power backs a strong military, friendly foreign policy, a pious proud people and government support for the needy. It's a primeval landscape roamed by rich fauna. Gauliscia is lead by its aristocratic elite but fuelled by the working class.
Dutch and Hungarian, British educated. I have yet to find a political camp but my tendencies are to traditionalism, collectivism, nationalism and statism. I enjoy epic poetry and literature, hunting, drinking, wenching and rugby.

Name: Arata Kasuga
Age: 26
Family & Relationships: Yui Kurata Kasuga (Wife)
Occupation & history:
Arata was born in In'eodong, Kiyomisu Prefecture to two normal parents. When he was four Arata's mother and father perished in a plane crash leaving Kasuga to be taken in by his Aunt and Uncle as well as their daughter Hijiri in Fukusu Village in Kiyomisu. Growing up in a village away from international attention led to Arata seeing a more Traditionalist way of life and was constantly frustrated with the government trying to eliminate their culture. Arata had to make a descision would he stay home and complain or gain enough power to change the system. Arata chose the latter and while others in Junior High wondered what they wanted to do with their lives Arata sought a career in politics. Arata worked hard which paid off in a scholarship to attend Royal Bibla Academy in LaRousse. Once he graduated he received a scholarship to attend Aridane University where he studied Government Politics and World History. Kasuga while in school had internships at the Kokumin Gikai in Heiwa where he got to observe committee meetings and the like. While he was there he fell in love with the young and emerging H.E.S.L Coalition Party and joined it where he gained a reputation as a traditionalist. Upon graduation Arata received an internship in the Federal Palace where he got a closer look at the executive position. When Kiryuin stepped down from office Arata seized the opportunity and presented his case at the HESL coalition Party convention with his "Simpler Times" speech. The party took a chance on his traditionalist views and selected him as Satsuki's successor. Arata was a little green at first but he grew into the job and with his latest election victory it seems the nation is pleased with it's current direction

Political believes & Stance on Nihon:
Arata is unknowingly related to the Late great Empress Tsubaki Kasugano, a traditionalist who sought to rescue and re-promote Kirishinan culture as a rebellion against foreign dogma. She also was a very devout Lake Shorian and it seemed those traits passed on to Kasuga. As a result he is a Taisuist economically and socially Lake Shorian Conservative. Kasuga strives to find a proper balance in regulating business, with too much bogging the system and too little being destructive to the ecconomy. Arata once described it as "A never ending game of Russian Roulette, eventually you die." Kasuga likes to focus on trade and bringing in even more tourism revenue.

Arata on a personal view has mixed feelings on Nihon as does most of his nation. Arata is wary of the style of government in Nihon and at times receives flash backs to fellow nations in SACTO Kirishima is less friendly with. The growth of Nihonese influence is also watch wearily considering his nation's bad history with very passionate Judaeo-Christian views. However on the other hand Nihon is of geopolitical interests, a side better to like than dislike, Nihon respects Kirishima rights to it's culture just as Kirishima respects Nihon rights and there is always that fellow Asiatic bond that Kirishima has with other similar nations.

Psychological profile:
Arata has a carefree and cheerful personality most of the time, able to crack jokes and poke fun of others even in tense situations. He is also known to be perverted, sometimes finding himself in risque situations or confessing his desires towards a girl (should he be on friendly terms). Most of the time it's accidental, but he simply rolls with it, and lets himself enjoy the situation without getting worked up about it. Arata however knows where to draw the line and still has a set of morals. He has a high sense of justice and can take some opposing views really negatively but is good at masking true intent and feelings. Arata can be dependable and is very calm under pressure, in all situations (casual or professional). His natural way of thinking allows him to make rational decisions and develop solutions to problems that otherwise others would panic to. Kasuga is the type to believe people are fundamentally good with bad traits being a result of environment as well as circumstances. There are a few situations were Kasuga can noticeably lose his cool but is unknown ???

Tosa Castle
Ishikawa | Nihon

Individuals. Individuals can only do so much on their own without any help to the point that individuals can be ignored frequently. The problem is when the ideas or frustrations of an individual spreads and multiply. One such example was SACTO approval rating which has been taking a lot of hits which could've costed him the election. With situations like Nosamo, Shadforad, and Homofront one organization keeps coming up. Back in Kirishima it was a battle of the minds that weigh the pros (such as Additional Security, quality military tech, fellow allies against the left, trade opportunities) and cons (like prevailing incompatible Judaeo-Christian Conservatism, mistreatment, lack of support against threats to Kirishima if it's not leftist, bad PR) of being this involved with SACTO.

Arata originally wanted to be an ally and partner with the alliance but next thing anyone knew Kirishima was inside the alliance and it wasn't that bad at least pre embassy attack which begun a downward spiral. To combat this Arata wanted to show that it was a functional alliance and remove further talking points of the Liberal Union by meeting with various SACTO leaders at the Congress of Ishikawa. All of these issues were currently on Arata Kasuga's mind as his personal Seongwoo Taikyū drove though the city of old and new. The same type of old and new that reminded him of his capital city of Heiwa or his entire nation for that matter. Arata chuckled to himself as he thought about how visually Kirishima and Nihon didn't seem so different...but that was where the similarities begun and ended visually. Social, Economic, and religious views all differed to almost an incompatible degree.

Arata's veichle came to a stop before he looked a head at Hisako who sat in the passenger seat looking back at him and simply nodded. Arata would not know where he would be without Hisako. She was simply Phenomenal as her secretarial skills were extraordinary. She was very good with time management and she was a great advisor as his Chief of Staff. She was his safety net and if he wasn't aware of something yet, she would always be ready to brief him. Arata then turned to look at his wife,Yui, the love of his life. She could make any situation better just by being there and seeing how it was an informal presentation could not find any reason to delay seeing her. Just then a tap came on his window indicating the all clear sign from security before he stepped out and helped his wife out the car.

After stepping though the doors into the castle he silently appreciated the effort put forth for the event before being taken aback by the scene the Gauliscian Delegate performed trying to win the Nihonese favor. This in turn made Kasuga feel like puking however he simply took a deep breath before his wife pulled closer to him. Once she had her head on his shoulder he smiled feeling at peace and simply observed.

Name: Sultan Ibrahim Muhammad Albani
Age: 43
Family & Relationships: Wife (Jamila, 40), Children (Muhammad Sharif, M, 29/Fatima, F, 20/Basid, M, 17)
Occupation & history: Since the beginning of the Estrada administration, Albani had served different ambassadorial attaches and catered himself to the service of diplomacy. His reliance to his learnings of different Asiatic cultures made him a Foreign Service Officer for Muslim Affairs by the former Joseph Estrada, and remained also in service during the days of the Arroyo government. After PGMA's resignation, Ibrahim continued to service the diplomatic community by hearing out the concerns of his fellow Filipino abroad as an open channel to their woes. He was later on assigned by the Paz administration to serve as FSO with Japan for 2 years now.
Political believes & Stance on Nihon: The Philippines-MPK/Philippine State believes that Nihon is as vital of importance to the world affairs and shares the same view of anti-internationalist agenda in bringing forth the defense of the free world. This was also the core virtue that Ibrahim looks over and maintains with Nihon as far as his concern with Filipinos are in play. He believes that Nihon sets an example of a "true defender of Christian, monotheist faith", even though he is a Muslim. He also respects the views of Christian Nihonese regarding their well-endowed culture of discipline and society at large, although most of his peers are irked about their fanaticism to Christianity, but was faithfully balanced with their Riysan brothers-in-faith.
Psychological profile: Ibrahim is a professional person. He puts boxes in everything he does and dedicates intense focus on it. He loves talking to people and during idle times, he reads the Qu'ran in silence in his office. He is often seen happy and positive, as he knows he is at the right of way with Allah. Most of his peacefull attitude steps from their holy readings, even though most of the time he works with Christians. He was also known for being cooperative and honest of intentions.

Tosa Castle, Ishikawa, Empire of Greater Nihon

For him, it would seem like he was landing to Japan, but it was a different country. From his view aboard of his helicopter, he sees the abundance of the skyline of skyscrapers and monumental sites giving honor to their heroes and political idols.Landing at the grassland area of the Castle, the helicopter alighted the Foreign Service Officer for Nihon Ibrahim Muhammad Albani, the Philippine-MPK diplomatic service personnel for the occasion. As he walked to the staircase of the castle, he was met with local ushers to help him be introduced to the Shogun Maki Kojiro. When it was his turn to pay his initial respects to him, he made a full bow with a smile with Kojiro and greeted him in Japanese the words "It's quite colder here than Japan. Anyways, it's great to be here. I miss the sushi and teriyaki." He was casual beyond formality, although he poses as a supreme example of Filipino hospitality. He smiles as his speaks those words. He laughed as a jest towards the good climate of the country he visits in.

Six days prior, Elder Castle, Fortham.
Council Chambers.

It was not a meeting, which would be documented anywhere else then in the memories of those attending it.
And there, it would be set down.
Fifteen Elders, sitting in their robes in a semi-circle on a small podium, fifteen old men and women regularly speaking wisdom and deciding in the name of the Fifteen Tribes, focussed on a single point in the room. Standing there was an old man, age weighing down on his old body, but not on his ever-sharp mind. Donald Críonna of the Tribe of Louth stood in front of the Elders once again.
"Elders.", he began, well aware of not only these fifteen listening to him, but also a row of people sitting at the back wall, listening to him. "I came before you today to ask you for permission to send an Ambassadorial Mission to attend a summit in the Empire of Greater Nihon, in their great capitol of Ishikawa. The Free Lands and the Empire share a set of mutual interests in which we can help each other despite the obvious differences in size." He made a short pause. "We both depend on trade and on the seas to conduct this trade, on technology to provide safe and secure energy - we both face the challenge of terrorism and maritime security. To discuss these matters and to reach a conclusion, not only with Greater Nihon but also with other nations, would provide us with measurements to face the future better. Plus, such..."
One of the Elders raised a hand. "Correct me if I am wrong, Master Crionna, but isn't the Empire a member of SACTO?"
Crionna nodded. "Yes. However, SACTO could proof to become a valuable and valued acquaintance to us, despite their rather... harsh views on certain politicial ideologies.", Crionna explained, "We already had the pleasure with several members of SACTO, both on governmental and on economic levels. I had the pleasure with Admiral Kobayashi of the Kaigun, during the talks about the COSTAL Accords." There was nodding around the table. Even the Elders of the Fifteen Tribed had heard about the mighty Navy of Greater Nihon. "You yourselves met Doctor Ghazi, a diplomat from Riysa." This time, the smiles were fonder, as Doctor Ghazi had made a very good impression on the Council. "Growing nearer to SACTO, maybe even joining, could proof very beneficial for the Free Lands and for the Selkie."
There was nodding all around.
In the end, the decision was clear: The Elders would send an ambassadorial mission to the summit.
Their missions were clear: Make friends and reach agreements.

Present Day, Tosa Castle.
The five Selkie, who were tasked with attending the summit on behalf of the Free Lands, were impressed.
They knew castles, both at home and in foreign lands, but rarely they saw structures so impressive as this - and even rarer of this kind of impressiveness, the kind of non-flashy impressiveness, despite the best efforts of the city of Ishikawa.
Of the five Selkie, four were of Ambassador Groups, Groups 1 and 2, plus an officer of the SDF-Navy.
In the lead was Donald Críonna of the Tribe of Louth, the closest thing to a minister of foreign affairs the Free Lands had, leaning onto a cane as he walked, escorted by his friend and colleague, as well as Ambassador of the Selkie, Marla Cróimiam of the Tribe of Cork, the blue haired woman keeping and eye on him.
The other group were Leonard Lách of the Tribe of Galway, a Marcach acting as Ambassador of the Selkie, eyecandy and lover of cheese, and Kendra Sciamhach of the Tribe of Waterford, the black haired woman having her long hair in a braid, silver threads woven into it as highlights.
With them was Commodore Gwen Ard of the Tribe of Tipperary, the commanding officer of Silverport Station, tasked with advice concerning all matters going to sea.
All five of them were dressed up to their nines, Geansai for the ambassadors, SDF-Navy Blue Dress for Ard, who held Crionna's other side.
As the five made their way towards the front doors, Crionna spoke up using his native tongue: "Alright, you all know what to do. Leonard, be eye candy and support Kendra, Kendra, you talk to people. Commodore, I would like to ask you to float between both groups." The officer nodded. "Marla..."
"I'll stay by your side. You need somebody to look after you, so that you don't do anything too dumb, Daideo!", the young woman remarked with a smile.
There was giggling shared by the Selkie, even Crionna smiled. "Well, then... the objectives are clear as well. Let's do this!"
And with that, they entered.

OOC: Despite the first two appearing otherwise, many of my characters are WiP, hence why they get a little bit scarce with details. I'm sorry about that.

The Ambassador Groups were his idea, their raising his responsibility. He also selects the Ambassadors of the Free Lands to this day.

OOC: Sorry for poor quality - not feeling well.

Selkian Delegation:

First sight to greet them was the fact that - contrary to what was often told about Nihon - sons of Admiral Yi were no bloodthirsty barbarians screaming about God and honor as they rushed with katanas to detonate themselves against the "marxists". Nihonese were normal men, and - ironically - military knew that it's place in society is as servants, not as rulers. Huge amount of people in politics having military background was equated with grassroots politicians and wealthy industrialists, all united by spirit of Nihone nationalism to serve their county. It was a custom in the land of the White Blazing Sun to make a good impression on the guests, thus, the delegation could very quickly expect a person sent to welcome them.

The person awaited them right at doors, dressed in dark blue Kaigun uniform contrasting with gold and silver of multiple medals decorating the space on his chest, and a sharp wakizashi attached to belt of the tall figure. Since Nihon begun it's resurgence in late 80s, three Admirals emerged to lead the Imperial Nihonese Navy, and proven themselves to be commanders skilled beyond belief. Their names were Inoue Kenshin, Mizushima Katsuro and Kobayashi Shinji. In front of the delegation from Selike stood one of them in his own person - Inoue Kenshin. To see him was a quite sight to behold - this careful lord of the sea was over 190 centimeters tall and possessed figure of a true athlete, although his muscles weren't overgrown, if one examined him carefully, he would have found not a single ounce of fat anywhere on tall admiral's body. This natural figure made him even more threatening for those who knew what that meant - explosive power ready to emerge on his demand, in a lighting fast strike that no one could even attempt to intercept. Admiral Kenshin was actually different from the remaining two, especially in his character; not afraid to publicly say unpleasant things about current leadership of the Imperial Nihonese Navy, often using harsh language directed against them - yet still able to keep positive opinion due to his reputation as skillful commander and honorable soldier, enjoying enormous popularity among the soldiers. Emerging from the submarine fleet, Kobayashi made his way up top carefully, through decisions that often seemed mad and risky - but always came to success through his courage and bold, aggressive action.

"Konbawa to Tosa castle, esteemed delegation from Selike" Inoue bowed himself slightly with grace "I am admiral Kenshin of the Inoue family. I have been tasked with leading you in. It is a pleasure to meet you today."

Despite his reputation, Kenshin portrayed an enormous level of culture and politeness in his speech.

New Edomite delegation:

To greet princess Jocasta - since the Shogun awaited inside - another important man was sent. Contrary to admiral that came before him, he was wearing an expensive suit, likely for several thousands of dollars, indicating an enormous fortune. This short, a bit overweight man scanned the area with a pair of green eyes mounted on a oval face, decorated with small straight nose. Those, however, who knew him, were far from joking; this was Nakahara Yoshirou, fifth Chairman of the Tsukumo Zaibatsu aka "The Emperor of Aircraft Industry". In Nihonese economy, few sectors seen rise of enormous conglomerates known as zaibatsu, with Tsukumo Group and Murakami Industries being one of most prominent ones. Elected to lead the group ran by his family ( as in Nihon families often went into hundreds of members), Yoshirou had over 40 companies subordinate to him. Apart from that, Nakahara was also known as philosopher and economist, often advising the government.

"Jocasta - hidenka ue, Adam Ram Gilead - tono, welcome to Nihon!" Nakahara bowed himself before them "I have been instructed by the Nihonese shogun to guide you in. It is a honor to have you here!"

He was to show them way in, but Jocasta could feel Nakahara watching her. Not out of any degree of lust - perhaps he was sensing a chance for negotiating some kind of deal. After all, who forbidden people to profit on fulfilling requests of others?

Gauliscinian & Philippine delegations:

Osswuck was the fastest one to find himself near the Taishogun. Looking at Kojiro from this close.... ironically hadn't been making that much of an impression. Kojiro certainly wasn't giant warlord that devoured liberals as some media attempted to paint them; he was actually quite short, his figure looking unimposing. Neither did he sat on a golden throne decorated with swords, with horde of savage Kaigun Rikusentai ready to tear apart everyone he orders surrounding him - to the contrary, only two bodyguards stood by his groundchair as Maki - Shogun was slowly eating tempura the moment when Gauliscinian officer appeared near him.

To be frank, Kojiro hated being called "lord" or treated like was some kind of royal. There was a reason why he rejected the throne - Kojiro had one lord in heavens, and treated himself only as public servant, "father of all" who took care of the Nihonese people.

"There is no need, Osswuck - san" the Gauliscinian general likely hadn't realized that the Shogun had photographic memory, and before even daring to travel to the meeting hall, Kojiro screened through bio of every person that planned to come in several times "Major General Charloman Osswuck, age 54, has wife and three children. Took part in 2005 military coup, attacked air base of local gendarmerie air arm. Nice execution indeed..."

The shogun paused, look of his face calm and emotionless. It looked almost like Kojiro was smiling.

"Being in military intelligence requires foreknowledge, Osswuck - san. I know too well you and your nation, and I have to say that I am intrigued...." he seen Kojiro pausing for a bit, likely for effect. This man had astonishing acting skill "Yes. If you don't know your enemy, and know yourself, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. I was at military intelligence, Osswuck san. In there those who are slow to predict - die."

It was well known fact. Kojro has been head of Gunpeitai for several years - and made this organization into what it is today - an extremely effective intelligence agency with an enormous network virtually everywhere.

He then turned to recently arriving Philippine envoy:

"Ibrahim Muhammad Albani- san! Welcome to Nihon!" he said, pointing for both him and Osswuck to seat "sit down with me. It is a pleasure to have you both here. How can I be of service to you?"

Kirishiman delegation:

The Shogun cleverly deiced that they should be greeted by a civilian - and it had to be the one with greatest diplomatic skill, one whom Kasuga already knew. Tokugawa Asuka, a lady in her early 40, recently widowed after a car accident, was also the one who negotiated with him earlier during agreements concerning military aid. She approached him almost instantly as he entered, bowing. The minister of external affairs was almost total opposite of Kojiro - peacefully minded, but not afraid of making rough decisions, Tokugawa was seen as a woman with real character. Apart from her diplomatic skill, most notable part were parties which she performed with slendour and glory, but usually costing a lot of money.

"Konabawa Arata - kakka ue!" she adressed him in a warm and polite voice "Welcome to Tosa castle. It is a great honor to see you again in Nihon."

Five Selkie were greeted and only one of them had an idea about who they were greeted by: Of course, Commodore Ard had heard of Admiral Kenshin and his rise from the depth - literally. She wasn't very fond of submariners, she had to admit, but she respected his skill and reputation, the tall man impressing her beyond belief. His cultural manner of speaking and politeness only enlarged that effect.
Starstruck, in the widest sense of the word, as she was, she was basically out for the count.
Crionna's smile got another note added to it, one of delight. He bowed his head to the Admiral, slightly, but full of respect, a gesture reserved for greeting someone of equal standing in his culture. "Thank you, Admiral, the pleasure is ours. It is a great honour to be here.", he said politely, "I am Donald Críonna of the Tribe of Louth, Ambassador of the Free Lands. My companion is Marla Cróimiam of the Tribe of Cork, Ambassador of the Selkie, Servant to Carman Fea and one of the best Marcach to ever mount a horse."
The young bluenette bowed her head with a grin, one of her hands at her hip, where her sword would be - a gesture of greeting from someone of lower rank.
Crionna motioned to the side of Marla, where Kendra and Leonard took position, making a gesture similar to Marla, bowing their heads with their hands at their hips, Leonard's a bit closer to the back, where his quiver would be. "Kendra Sciamhach of the Tribe of Waterford and Leonard Lách of the Tribe of Galway, Ambassadors of the Free Lands and the Selkie respectively.", Crionna introduced, before motioning to his far side, where Ard saluted with a sparkle in her eyes. "Commodore Gwen Ard of the Tribe of Tipperary, commanding officer Silverport Station and one of our best naval officers."
"Sir.", she said, still starstruck.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.

Tosa Castle, Ishikawa, Empire of Greater Nihon

"My dear Shogun, it's been a great pleasure to serve both my country and this attendance to your nation, and I would like to extend the warmest of friendship, among all of the Filipino civilizations, our greatest gratitude to see an exemplar of Asiatic virtues, which is Nihon." Ibrahim remarked as he walks with Osswuck and Kojiro to their seats. "Our nation sees Nihon as a great country of friendly prospects. I am expecting soon that we can hold these negotiations with great success and soon, we and Nihon will prosper from this event." He paused for a while and continued "And surely, I am greatly applauded about your efforts in maintaining the national integrity of your empire despite setbacks from the World Assembly and other communities, which is something we look up to." He now straightens his seat and asked "So, most honorable Shogun, our nation is open for free trade and exchange of goods. What are your thoughts for this?"

Arata smiled cheerfully. "Konabawa Tokugawa-san" Arata stated with kindness. Arata was glad that the first person he was speaking to was a "civilian", it's a well known fact that there is a difference in aura between government officials from the public sphere, military, and intelligence. Also it helped that Arata was already familiar with Asuka due to their prior meeting.

"It's a great honor to be here in Ishikawa once again." Arata added as he gestured to his wife. "This is my lovely wife Yui, considering the nature of this event...I had no valid reason to be apart from her."Arata stated warmly as Yui blushed and did a light bow in greeting.

Arata then gestered towards his Chief of Staff. "Ah yes last time we met was before the election, with Zhu Li as my new minister of science, I would like to introduce to you my new Chief of Staff Arato Hisako. She is very talented and manages to keep my schedule very efficient as well as keeping me informed." Arata added

Gauliscian Delegation,
Tosa Castle, Ishikawa
Empire of Greater Nihon

The trained eyes of Osswouck bulged as the great Shogun, the supreme warlord and chieftain of Nihonese Warriors recalled his name, but also details close to him. His head hung low in humility.
"Oh my- Shogun, you honour me beyond necessity for I am neither God-favoured sovereign nor populace-elected leader of the high halls of Clovisburg. Indeed are you benevolent and omnipotent. As such, I find it hard to dare to ask further of you, as you have placed grace more grace on me than any living should wish. Alas, I ask thus, that we may discuss further relations between your magnificent nation and my humble, wooded land?"

Still greatly honoured, his shaven cheeks glowing with suppressed pride he awaited patiently amongst all those wishing to take the ear of the mighty Shogun, or even be so audacious as to provoke the great Shogun to speak.

Azur Delegation to the Congress of Ishikawa, Tosa Castle, Ishikawa, Empire of Greater Nihon
It never ceased to amaze him, the resplendent continuity of the decorum bequeathed to diplomatic forums of such import.

George Francis Kemper had been to exactly one hundred and thirty-seven diplomatic functions in his renowned career; some of great import, others of little consequence. And yet, when all manner of cultural, economic, sociopolitical and theological barriers were stripped away, just as one cleaved the gristle from a choice cut of meat, so too were the dichotomies of the nation-states brought to naught. The community of the nation-states had more in common than one would be prone to admit; such was his perception on the matter, at least. The imbued grandeur, the gentle pageantry of such a noble venture as this Congress of Ishikawa, conveyed in the quiet grace of the Castle Tosa, was not unlike the functions of state he had attended before within the Evenguard itself. In this diplomatic gathering of the intellectual and political elites, however, his function was more than a dignitary of symbolic consequence. He and his confederate were the representatives of Phaedra herself this day.

I could only hope to wonder what Serr Majesty was thinking when she chose us...

Kemper quietly stole a look towards his associate, noticing with bemusement that the Praetor still bore the same pitiful look of helpless consternation that had accompanied him since their arrival in Greater Nihon. Michael Frémantle would have been George's last choice for such a sensitive diplomatic mission; the Evenguard of Azura had yet to extend even the most base of diplomatic courtesies to the Empire during Calixte's young Phaedraship, and Frémantle wasn't exactly known for his... affectionate disposition towards other countries. Still, perhaps Phaedra had her reasons—hidden as they may be—for sending such an eclectic pairing to Ishikawa. Perhaps the counterbalance of a staunch Azur nationalist and a political moderate would keep the aims of the Azuran delegation true at the Congress; perhaps Calixte had a perverse sense of humor. In any event, their mandate was irreversible: represent the Evenguard with distinguished candor, and embrace the Host with overtures of political cooperation.

Of all the nations attending, Phaedra desires closer ties with Greater Nihon the most...

It was a noble gesture, and certainly one with considerable desirability. Phaedra's desire to establish closer diplomatic ties with the Empire of Greater Nihon was not without significant merit: the strategic value of forging diplomatic partnerships beyond their present sphere of influence represented a significant divergence from the conservative policies of Serr Majesty's forebearers. The Evenguard had, for too long, been content to isolate itself from the geopolitical spectrum of world affairs, allowing its prestige to crumble in the face of a new generation of leaders, who had hitherto confined the grace and might of the Children of Azura to the dustbin of history; relics in their own time, unworthy of the fear and admiration once bequeathed to the vengeful hand of authority upon Tsyion. The Azur people had lost their rightful standing in the world, and Phaedra was purposed to reclaim that which should have never been lost. Such diplomatic overtures were the first step in the restoration of such a paradigm.

Even now, however, as they entered what could only be considered the commiserate hall to Praeclarus's Atrium, Kemper wrestled with the magnitude of the task at hand, especially considering his accompaniment. He was chosen for the task perhaps out of necessity; his knowledge of the Empire and their noble ways had most certainly been the preeminent determining factor in his selection as co-counsel for the Azur Delegation to the Congress of Ishikawa. While he was confident that his approach would bear some fruit, given enough patience—and luck, of course—the simple truth was that the Empire was still an unknown quantity to them. There was no explicit prescription for success negotiating at the Congress, nor was there any guarantees that the overtures of Phaedra wouldn't be rebuffed. And with Praetor Frémantle's stoic determination to cling to the Pax Azuras narrative with ever damnable fiber of his being, George had to concede inwardly that their chances for success were, at best, constrained.

Even so, not according to our purposes, but to the will of Phaedra, praises to her be.

It was a reassuring axiom, even now in the surly face of such a monumental diplomatic task. The butterflies abating with the halcyon balm of purposed determination, Kemper straightened up a bit as the Azur delegation entered this new forum, their cadre festoomed with the standard of the Evenguard and of Phaedra herself, flag-bearers draped with the neatly-pressed dress uniforms of the Sentinels, flanked on either side by Pseuronader escorts in their black coats and brass buttons. Kemper shot a glance down at his neatly-pressed three-piece suit, hand-made by Gimble & Lords in Ballantyne for the occasion, replete with the gold-encrusted pocket watch hanging from his pants pocket upon a slender gold chain. Praetor Frémantle, for some unknown reason, had decided it appropriate to wear his military uniform to the function; his cover a stark contrast to the top hat Kemper wore. The Praetor's military commendations were neatly arrayed on a crimson sash which was worn over his shoulder with flair.

It will be a damned miracle if the jackass manages not to embroil us in a damn war...

"Councilor," Kemper whispered under his breath, taking care that their stewards and flag-bearers—to say nothing of the Empire's formal delegation standing at the ready—couldn't hear. "Why are you dressed as if you're invading our host?"

"We are the envoys of Serr Majesty, the Phaedra," Frémantle exclaimed boldly, not bothering to conceal his voice beyond a conversational tone. "Would you rather I have come before this gathering looking like a damned homeless bum?"

George did a double-take, looking down at his suit before shooting a steely glance back towards his co-councilor. "You trying to imply that I'm dressed like a vagrant or something? I spent a lot of damn money on this suit, thank you very much."

"You look like a drapery clerk," Michael smirked, shaking his head. "A well-dressed drapery clerk, but a drapery clerk nonetheless. You should have worn your military dress with me. Now you look like the help, not the leading diplomatic voice."

"You wouldn't know style if it rose up and bit you in the ass," Kemper cursed at him, trying to resist the urge to use more colorful language in their formal setting. "Besides, Phaedra herself instructed us to convey with honor in Ishikawa!"

"And so I shall," Frémantle replied, looking ahead with that same bittersweet look, as if he were marching off to the executioner's chair in a prison camp. "What could be more honorable than wearing the uniform of the Evenguard?"

Kemper had to resist the urge to scoff once more. "Oh, I don't know, Praetor; not looking like you were the despot of some third-world Banana Republic? The last I checked, the sash is hardly considered your typical accouterment."

"It is considered formal regulation wear by the Codebook of Standards and Practices for Legionaries of the Evenguard," Michael answered him. "Just because I've never had the occasion to wear my sash doesn't diminish its value."

"Codebook of Standards and Practices!?" Kemper exclaimed, immediately challenging Michael's asinine position. "Praetor, that stylus was done away with in 1952! Good Lord, man! I've heard of antiquated practices, but damn, Michael."

"I will not hesitate to kick your narrow ass up and down this hall," Praetor Frémantle scowled, his voice lower than before. "Life imprisonment for treason would be a small price to pay for the privilege of jacking your fat jaw, Kemper."

"You'd like that, wouldn't you?" George started in, arching an eyebrow. "And I'd bet—"

"Shut up, George," Michael protested. "The host is ready for our formal introduction."

The realization took a moment to sink in before George sprang into action, replacing his erstwhile-look of irritation with the stoic countenance of a true Son of Azura. The flag-bearers had come to a halt some five feet ahead of the delegation, coming to attention in the customary manner, bringing the colors to bear for the host of the Empire, even of Castle Tosa to admire. With the carefully trained precision bequeathed to Praetors of Phaedra, both Michael and George simultaneously stepped forward to either side of the principal flag-bearers, the colors positioned forward to mark their station. The delegation behind each assumed the standard greeting—an outstretched hand, placed sideways over the heart, bowing their heads—behind them, while Praetor Frémantle assumed the posture of a soldier, clicking his heels while coming to attention. As the senior diplomat, Kemper dressed his rank at the last, bowing before their host in honor and deference, before straightening up. He cleared his voice—

For the love of all that is holy and just, please don't let me go and screw this up...

—And cried out with a loud, booming voice. "Live forever, Children of the Empire! The Evenguard of Azura has arrived!"

Principals of the Azur Delegation to the Congress of Ishikawa
Serr Consiliarius George F. Kemper, Praetor of the Evenguard

Name: George Francis Kemper

Age: 65

Family & Relationships: Wife, Alva Virginia Kemper (née Banner - b. 1956) | Children, Edmund Lucian Kemper (b. 1975), Walter Henry Kemper (b. 1983), Lilly Kemper Prescott (b. 1986), Leonard Parker Kemper (b. 1989), Graham William Kemper (b. 1993)

Occupation & History: George F. Kemper is a member of the Praetorian Council (Concilium Praetoroam), a senior advisory panel of political and military leaders whose invaluable council has led to the establishment of a unique form of Privy Council to the Phaedra of the Evenguard of Azura. Praetor Kemper is the elder-statesman of said-Council, having spent the better part of forty years in service to the Evenguard. Rising through the ranks of the Army of the Evenguard to command the famed XXV Indomitable Legion, the career military officer was assigned to govern the Dominion of Karajaani Azura in 1997, a post he held successfully for nearly thirteen years. Upon the passing of Phaedra William II, and the assumption of the throne by his daughter Calixte, Kemper was recalled to Kinseleagh, where he was appointed as military liaison to the new Phaedra. In 2014, he earned promotion into the Phaedra's inner circle of advisers, the Praetorian Council. Praetor Kemper is a graduate of the Imperial Institute at Leicester, and a member of their Board of Trustees, having been elected to serve therein in 1999.

Political Beliefs & Stance on Nihon: Kemper, like Phaedra herself, is a political pragmatist, viewing Azura's historical stance on alliances and multinational arrangements to have been 'the great error of the Evenguard'. Though Greater Nihon remains a 'hidden' variable in Azura's geopolitical stratgem, Kemper approaches the Congress of Ishikawa with an open mind, contemplative of the potential rewards for bringing a new diplomatic presence to the table of negotiation in Kinseleagh.

Psychological Profile: George Kemper is a political moderate in the Evenguard, one of the Praetorian Council's 'voices of moderation', between the three major factions which vie for political capital in the Court of Phaedra. Despite his staunch advocacy for a politically neutral tract, he is still a true Son of Azura, and will not hesitate to defend its honor, or its prestige, with great vigor. Eloquent and reserved, Kemper is a tactful strategist, keen to observe those around him before formulating a true conceit. Kemper is among the more trusted political and military adjutants operating in the Evenguard of Azura.

Serr Consiliarius Michael S. Frémantle, Praetor of the Evenguard

Name: Michael Scott Frémantle

Age: 51

Family & Relationships: Wife, Katherine Eleanor Frémantle (née Conway - 1965-1992); Child, Susan Eliza Frémantle (1990-1992)

Occupation & history: Michael Frémantle is, like Kemper, a member of the Praetorian Council in the Evenguard of Azura, having been directly appointed to the position from his military post in 2005 by Phaedra William II. Having risen through the ranks of the Army of the Evenguard to command the infamous XXXII Bloodmouth Guard, Frémantle is likened to a prodigy: a fast-rising officer in the Army, and a stalwart of the 'Last Generation', the colloquial term for a wave of young and energetic appointees made by Phaedra William II shortly before his passing. Frémantle, conveniently, was the only member of the Praetorian Council to retain his seat after the death of Phaedra by the executive decree of Phaedra Calixte, a move demonstrative of Frémantle's considerable reputation and honored esteem in the political circles of Kinseleagh. Unlike his older counterpart, Frémantle was not college-educated initially, having been promoted through heroism in the Raizhoan Rebellion of 1989 to OPS training from his background as an enlisted solider. Later on, he completed his bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of Camden in 1999, in preparation for a potential political career later in life. Michael is an avid outdoorsman, noted for his skills as a hunter.

Political Beliefs & Stance on Nihon: Frémantle is a member of the conservative wing of the Praetorian Council, and is a considerable voice of import in the Conservative Orthodoxy of Kinseleagh. As such, Frémantle is somewhat skeptical of the need for alliances and multinational associations, believing them an 'unnecessary risk' to the propriety of the Evenguard's status as a political hegemony. Despite this, he is a loyal servant of Phaedra, and will not openly deny the execution of her will, once her will has been established. Nonetheless, he is a true believer in the doctrine of Summatus Caeruleum, the Azur Supremacy, and will defend this line to the last, with his life if necessary. Thus, his view towards Nihon is one of vague indifference.

Psychological Profile: Praetor Frémantle is among the most accomplished of Kinseleagh's military and political ruling elite. He is also perhaps one of its most tragic figures, having lost his wife and child in 1992 due to a terrorist attack by revolutionaries in Saint Cearan while on holiday there. Formerly a moderate, it is believed that his severe depression in the wake of this loss pushed into him the conservative orthodox movement, and galvanized his fierce determination to resist any and all attempts at the usurpation of Kinseleagh's authority. He considers the sovereignty of the Throne of Tsyion sacrosanct, and has thrown all measure of personal pleasures and frivolities away in service to the state. While some question his mental faculties in the wake of fits of anger and hostility, his accomplishments as both a military leader and as a Diplomat of the State render such musings as whispers, only.

"Nakahara Yoshirou," murmured Ram-Gilead to Princes Jocasta as the man approached.

"Who?" she murmured back to him.

"Perhaps Your Highness does not remember being briefed on those close to the Shogun? He is a very wealthy man, one of the most important Zaibatsu in this country, over forty companies. A particular focus on aircraft, strong investment in Murakami..."

"Now I remember..."

As the plump plutocrat greeted the Heir and the Ambassador, Princess Jocasta smiled in response, inclinng her head in response to a bow. the Emperor of Aircraft himself," she said. "Among the recent improvements to our national defense are the systems produced by Niohnese comnpanies. And I see you know us both."

"Reputation precedes you Highness," said Ram-Gilead genially.

"No doubt," said Jocasta. She began to walk forward if they were to meeet with the Shogun. Wealth did not intimidate her though it did interest her. It was a good means to an end. "I know you are more focused on air power, but is ther anything definite about an improved LCAC? The King is very keen to improve our naval infantry force projection...in these troubling times we must be ready."

“Fortune favours the bold"

Sanfu

Ishikawa was everything Sanfu had hoped it to be, the glistening model of economic progress which fascinated him so much. Sanfu was always fond of Nihon and so was his elder brother Qiang. Both saw in it the same things: they shared a marvel for its military capability, its economic might among and its general competence. Both respected it to varying degrees, Qiang himself was a great fan of Kojiro’s own ideology and outlook on the world.

Nemawashi very much fascinated his trusted brother, a man of tradition yet lacking the reactionary nature of many Akai aristocrats - he was often described as being particularly imperialist in his goal to establish a protective barrier of buffer states between Akai and the world. Its rejection of liberal thought, totalitarianism and especially communism. Qiang loathed his eldest brother’s vision for Akai, the one which Akai had become increasingly shaped by. He found in its vision of the ideal nation particularly wonderful.

Sanfu on the other hand was more confused by its nature, its conservatism was a curious thing which seemingly helped define it in the modern age. He was curious to whether how much of this was the results of Kojiro’s time as prime minister and latter Shogun or whether it might have been the combination of values in Nihon which led to its prosperity. The former suggested that the authoritarian rule of its benevolent autocrat was Kojiro and his policies which brought this or it was inherent in the Nihonese people that they’d create this marvel with such an opportunity. Sanfu very much wanted it be the former rather than the latter as in his eyes it put doubt in Akai’s ability to ever be as prosperous as some.

However it is what his elder brother, Yanfeng who concerned him most. He seemed to he the absolute principle of mindless ambition, going from an already influential prince to the head of the largest paramilitary corporation in Akai - one which several clans and Jituans have grown to be incredibly reliant upon. Given the technical illegality of privately held soldiers in the form of traditional soldiers, Waidiyi was supposedly around several thousand men in size - rivaling some of the larger divisions almost in its scope. And now he was climbing either further with his de facto seizure of a large section of the Grand and Enlightened Conclaves, appealing to their vanities and ambitions rather nicely. If there was defining feature of his psychotic brother, it was a relentless quest for power and dominance.

What intrigued and made Sanfu particularly fearful was why was Yanfeng particularly interested in Nihon. Maybe he saw some interest in its large amounts of mercenaries with their impressive reputation for loyalty and competence or was this just some other market to him. Or maybe he was seeking allies, ones capable of actually influencing things back home. All possibilities concerned Sanfu.

Sanfu utterly loathed his brother, for the tireless and endless torment he suffered underneath him. Qiang was nearly broken and Sanfu was by this man - something which still haunted him. The desire to just crush Yanfeng with his new power was always tempting. The idea of revenge always was. But he was not Qiang and did not want to embrace this desire, this lust for vengeance against someone for he did not want to be shaped into the deformed creatures that were his other brothers. It was in his eyes one of his few redeeming characteristics and he intended to keep it intact.

His nephew on the other hand seemed characteristically composed, seemingly building up some more body mass since January presumably to account for the lack of strength he had in his battle against Michael. He wore a white double breasted suit with a black embroidered waistcoat underneath it and an almost renaissance like mandarin collar white shirt, also embroidered with geometric silver floral patterns. Hulang also carried his black three-eyed demon like mask on his head as he did. Sanfu always envied Hulang’s refined self-confidence, masked behind layers of etiquette, he always came off as being particularly cool headed. His sharp crimson eyes with black bags beneath them, astutely observed his surroundings. His diamond shaped face was defined by his sharp features and sharp cheekbones, a mixture of his father’s and mother’s faces in that sense. His skin like most Lazin was characteristically pale and his in particular was unusually perfect in appearance. His silver hair was kept neatly intact in a bun behind his head.

Yanfeng on the other hand was wearing his old Tezhentuan officer's uniform, a combination of a double breasted silver trench coat and with a prominent mandarin collar fitting around. There was a strange practicality to the design Sanfu knew, with it being oddly flexible on top of being bullet resistant. His face was similar to Hulang’s but instead of the look of perfection that his nephew had, it was a roughed, worn face which carried a sense of charisma. A silver neatly trimmed beard covered his face while the other half was covered by his three-eyed half-mask.

Sanfu himself wore a black tangzhuang, made from the Shanrou silk of Nueshan, and the calm As Sanfu approached the variety of figures waiting outside with Hulang at his left and Yanfeng on Hulang’s left, he contemplated his particular possible trade arrangements Akai could possibly propose as well as other ties. Hulang seemed to have noticed someone else it seemed, although she seemingly vanished before Sanfu could spot them once again. As Sanfu reflected on missing his own wife, he loved her dearly and found her to be one of the few things he still appreciated with sheer joy. Aelia was as fair and wonderful as anyone could be. As he reflected upon his reality he thought to himself, away from the ears of others this is going to be an interesting day.

Name: Ditor Hulang I Huieke Lazin
Age: 16
Family & Relationships: Son of Ditor Jieke and Dihei Machiko
Occupation & history: Ditor of Akai, currently exercising partial power. Used to be a crown prince under Jieke, raised in isolation from the rest of the dynasty.
Political beliefs & Stance on Nihon: Hulang in private believes Nihon to be a “dangerous tiger, which is wise not to provoke but direct against our enemies. " He sees its its perceived fanaticism with approach to some of its enemies as an intriguing curiosity, however he also respects it as a nation and a culture - finding it to be vastly superior in its conduct than many other nations. His opportunism does not rule out anything which might benefit Akai in his eyes and so if Nihon benefits Akai or hisgoals, he'd be more than willing to collaborate.
Psychological profile: "His personality is described as being an unusual person with a strange personality. He displays an understated confidence which is present in his actions. Despite this he is often described as calculating and eccentric. His sister, Princess Lilisi Limei Lazin described him as: "A shadow concealing a furious fire" given his occasionally emotional nature. He displays a consistent desire for perfection and to improve himself, this ambition often drives his actions. He is also noted for his eccentricity, politeness and generally gentlemanly behaviour."

Name: Prince-Regent Sanfu Salong Lazin
Age: 44
Family & Relationships: He is married tom Aelia Quadrata - first cousin of Emperor Valerian of Rome, is an uncle of Ditor Hulang and son of Ditor Long.
Occupation & history: Prince Sanfu is currently the de jure regent in Akai, although his power is limited by the obstructionism of the Grand Conclave which he formerly was the State Chancellor from 1990-2014.
Political beliefs & Stance on Nihon: Sanfu regards Nihon in a positive light, viewing its free market economy as an example of what the benefits of his proposals could do for Akai, however he is relatively curious about furthering ties.
Psychological profile: A well spoken, well mannered character who is particularly capable with regards to deal making. He is however is seen as weak by many of his peers due to his hesitance to explore military options unless forced to by superiors. He is often underestimated by others, being a very capable economist and responsible for much of the reworking of the Akai economy..

Name: Prince Ditoral Yanfeng Yalong Lazin
Age: 56
Family & Relationships: Oldest living uncle of Ditor Hulang, brother of Ditor Jieke, unmarried. Half-brother of Sanfu and Prince Qiang.
Occupation & history: Prince Yanfeng was born as the second child of Dibai Linghin Lazin, seven years after his elder brother Jieke. Practically the opposite of his brother, he often conflicted with his father and later his brother on many matters. After an confidential incident he left Xungong to go and joint the OND Tezhentuan regiments in which he his extreme tactical adaptability and innovative tactics lead him to rise high enough to command his own regiment at an age which is particularly young. Some speculate there was some intense intrigue occurring at the event, where he capitalised on his status as a son of the Ditor. His bold leadership was particularly well received in the Guizitong where he conducted operations in Keng, destroying the Maoist KNRF’s guerilla forces means often described as a “heavy fireforce.” During the same conflict he was also responsible for the destruction of the ancient Clan Raigao, as was ordered when they refused to disarm.

Yanfeng however was dissatisfied with his existence, craving something else he decided to leave the OND and with the help of a few close associates created the first paramilitary corporation in Akai in the form of Waidiyi. It specialises in counter-insurgency, psychological and asymmetric warfare although they’ve demonstrated a capacity for maneuver warfare in the past, thanks to their widespread use of helicopters and technicals.
Political beliefs & Stance on Nihon: He views Nihon as a nation to be not only respected but also one which might be potentially used for the benefit of his own corporation. He admires its unfettered approach to the world and rejection of internationalism. He also takes an interest in the activities of SACTO, mostly to observe developments in conflicts it is in involved in.
Psychological profile: Nicknamed the mad prince by many, Yanfeng is on the surface as sipperly and unpredictable - often perceived as an almost random force of malevolent nature. He is as fluid was any liquid. However beyond the man’s seemingly mindless cruelty lies a domineering and intelligent man who has a disturbing lack of empathy displayed at times but is capable of masquerading among high society.

OOC: Yet again the apologizes for shorter and lower quality reply than I wished to be and for the time you had to wait. I am facing ton of health issues, but at least I am feeling myself well enough to reply today. It costed me a lot of pain to write this post.

Selikan delegation:

Moving slowly, Kenshin saluted her back, evidently showing his respect for her. It hadn't required much attention to see that the tall admiral was very fond this situation, and that - how multiple intelligence agencies called him - "Sub Tzu" enjoyed the chance to be given exactly this delegation to greet. Long ago, Inoue visited Selike - since it was required for every cadet at Naval War College in Fujian to take a trip around the world on a ship they themselves crewed on the 2nd year of the officer studies, and that year's time Silverport was where the ship stopped. Inoue wondered how much had the selike changed since 1969, when he put his feet on Selikan soil for the last time.

"Please follow me" he pointed them to the gate with a slow movement of his hand "Kojiro - taikun ue is awaiting you inside. He will deliver the welcoming speech once we all assemble."

In Kenshin's eyes Selikans were all the same, like stereotypical characters from some Celtic legends - although he, as foreigner, had to say that he quite enjoyed it. His attention however was captured by Marla Cróimiam of the Tribe of Cork, and it weren't her blue eyes that captured it - but rather Marla continously staring at beautifully ornamented daisho (set of katana and wakizashi) resting on Inoue's hip, each of them with golden tsuba shaped like a lotus flower, with their tsuka wrapped in ray skin. It was customary for the officers of the Imperial Nihonese Army, no matter from whatever branch they came - was it Ground Force, Air Force, Imperial Guard or Navy - to wear swords with their ceremonial uniforms, and short tactical version of wakizashi was popular even nowadays, used in similar fashion to kukri knife of the Ghurkas. Knowing who she was and her belonging to swordsmaines, the Nihonese admiral wondered what she was thinking - and she better hadn't thought of challenging him on this congress, except if guests wanted some entertainment...

Inside could see however that the Nihonese were no barbarians that they were pained to be. Two halls represented two faces of Nihon - the high tech, quickly modernizing Nihon of today and samurai filled legendary Nihon of the past. In this place, both worlds came together; samurai became CEOs of large corporations or officers of the Imperial Nihonese Army; and high technology supplemented traditional values in surprisingly well put together way. Selikan delegation could also see the Nihonese Shogun sitting together with Gaulinisican and Philippine delegates, debating something. He likely noticed their entrance, even though his eyes hadn't even moved; it was always like that with him...

Kirishinan delegation

"It is an honor to meet you Hisako-san!" Asuka Tokugawa bowed herself in front of the Kirishinan woman "Fujita Kenji-san will be likely leaving post of Chief of General staff of the Imperial Nihonese Army on days, and we are still unsure who will replace him. Admiral Mizushima - san or General Saburo - san are most likely candidates. It will mean a lot for Nihon depending on which one would be selected."

She mentioned two most important officers of the Imperial Nihonese Army; one from Rikugun, Ikeda Saburo, and one from the Kaigun, Mizushima Katsuro. Two of them were both decorated commanders and considered capable enough to take this function; yet had different visions of how Nihon should achieve it's strategic goals. Ikeda, ardent traditionalist and believer in power of asymmetric warfare vs fascinated by high technology Mizushima, who additionally believed in primacy of the navy. Citing the times that were at hand... theories of both were to be put to test.

"Kojiro Taikun ue is awaiting you Arata - kakka ue!" Kasuga could see feeling of being frank in Tokugawa's eyes. Indeed, Tokugawa quite liked him and considered Kirishima to play more important role in Nihonese foreign policy than people like General Takeda Daisuke, current commander of Kaigun Rikusentai, seen it to play. Maybe because it was easier for her to communicate with Kasuaga, who seemed to distrust the part of the Nihonese leadership that came from the Imperial Nihonese Army.

She led him though the dance hall, decorated in mix between European neoclassicism which Kojiro adored and traditional Nihonese elements, mostly related to nature and common life, to the place where the Shogun was sitting.

Edomite & Akai delegations

"Indeed I am" smiled Nakahara, while instantly taking his pad from the pocked inside the expensive suit "Type 022V, currently in development by Tsukumo Ironworks on order of Kaigun Rikusentai. Estimated final length around 55 meters, estimated capacity enough to ferry three MBTs in or decent amount of armored vehicles, perhaps a company depending on type you are using, or if you wish, over 500 infantrymen. Everything you desire in just one hovercraft, Jocasta - denka."

The plump plutocrat smiled while switching the image. It seemed that he was always prepared to do business deals - no matter what kind of event it was. Capitalism had this advantage that if you had money, you will always get what you desire, even if out of personal interest of the deliverer, you always gotten it.

"Kinesaki may be another thing of interest for you, Jocasta - denka. It is a true LST, something many navies forgotten to use. It has capacity to carry a tank company of 16 tanks directly onto the shore; perfect as weapon of second echelon during amphibious landing. "

In his eyes Jocasta could see joy from making a deal... but also happiness. Nakahara always wanted to meet her, after all, due to being greatly interested in politics of Cornelia - partially out of personal interest, and partially because of business.

At the same time, prince Sanfu arrived at the entrance. If one was overtly concerned, Akai hadn't been occupying a lot of interest in Nihonese foreign policy until now, when - due to relations with Cornellian states such as Ghant, or New Edom - Nihonese presence for good appeared in the area, as it's commercial significance increased. Most of knowledge that Nihonese had at this moment came from Nihonese - or the Ghantish, who hadn't been most pleasing in their descriptions. Indeed, Kojiro himself had, despite his thankfulness for supporting anti - homofront efforts and some common measures - certain degree of reserve towards the county of Lazins. It was well known that their religion incorporated certain elements of Gnosticism, something with which Kojiro had to do earlier... The three Lazins were to be greeted by Admiral Kobayashi himself, another of the "triad". Kobayashi himself was an ardent traditionalist and, as his shogun, held certain degree of reserve towards Akai; although he was more than willing to live live with them on good terms, especially that in his view, Aakai could guarantee security to Nihonese commercial and maritime interests in Southern Cornellia - after all, the tankers coming to New Edom for oil would need to be safe. Yet the style of governance held him in reserve; Akai was well known to be totalitarian, and as such... it earned certain degree of suspicion.

"Konabawa Sanfu-denka and your excellencies" Kobayashi bowed himself, before noticing that - by some occasion - Jocasta found herself nearby. Edomite princess enjoyed huge popularity in Nihon, and it would be rude not to pay tribute to her. Thus, Kobayashi bowed to herself also, greeting her.

"My apologizes, Jocasta - denka and Sanfu - denka. Maki - taikun ue is waiting for us!" Nakahara said, as he led her through the dance hall, allowing her to admire the beautiful works of art, such as neoclassical styled painting of modern Ishikawa or more traditional styled painting of fishermen on the waves, before venturing into samurai - themed dinning hall, where they could see an enormous painting taking the entire wall on which Chosokame no Yorimoto, first Christian shogun of Nihon led 3 500 samurai against 35 000 strong army of usurper - emperor during the battle of Shimazu that won him that title. Among the screams of wounded men and sounds of clashing arms marched Date Kenshin in his furry, two meter tall figure cleaving the terrified warrior monks from Emperor Go Jimmu's army with his massive odachi being over two meters long. To his right stood Komatsuhime, Ghantish wife of Chosokame, blind but restless swordswoman that just by herself jumped on Emperor's guard to save her husband when he fell from his horse during third and final day of the battle. She earned her death, but it costed the emperor 30 of his elite samurai killed just by her alone at that moment. And below this captivating painting sat no one else than Maki Kojiro; the famous Nihonese shogun. Contrary to propaganda, he wasn't two meter tall monstrous warlord sitting on a golden throne among array of wealthy capitalists and bloodthristy samurai ready to invade communist nations on his order and exploit them economically. He was actually short and calm, almost unmoving, though those who knew his past in the military intelligence would have instantly assumed otherwise.

Azuran delegation

Nihonese long waited for this moment, especially seeing the geopolitical value of Azura having close relationship with Nihon - a county that gained status of any influence in international affairs just recently, although in doing so Nihon ruined multiple states that had at least some degree of recognition on the scene. Some were extremely afraid of- how they called it - "rapid" rise of Nihon under Maki Kojiro's leadership. Experiencing extremely quickly growing economy exporting to multiple nations at once and coming with it increase in military capability, land of the blazing sun posed bigger and bigger question in foreign policies of multiple nations - many of which were afraid of it, as Nihon brought to political scene new concepts and ideas that weren't heard of before. First was rejection of almost any ideological universalism. Even if Kojiro's fierce anti - communism was known widely, the leadership of the Shogunate always considered things such as cultural, religious or ethnic conflicts as a natural phenomena. Second concept was dislike for international institutions such as WA and firm belief in "rights of sovereign states" and resulting of it desire to reshape international order to suit Nihon. Third was staunch nationalism of Maki's government.

It was a land of golden opportunity - citing the trade opening that happened only recently. The land of Admiral Yi prided itself on low taxes and extreme amount of private initiative, although engaging in trade with other nations usually on it's own terms. Yet, when one looked at some past issues such as ban on Mikurajima gay pride and social conservatism that dominated Nihonese society, it made multiple nations reject Kojiro's government. As many however had no issues, citing the fact that the Empire was eager to work with anyone who was not communist and hadn't posed a threat.

In such county, awaiting for Azuran delegation, was a short man, about 170 centimeters tall, dressed in the uniform of the Imperial Nihonese Army. Classic Nihonese Army cap decorated his wide square face filled with tanned skin, with a pair of deep set green eyes watching the area around him carefully, piercing almost everyone he looked upon. Around thin mouth was a short, squarely beard linking with mustache, dark as were the untamed hair on the top of his head. Across the man's face went a large scar, and two more were on his cheek. His impression, especially when combined with daisho, a pair of samurai swords on his hip, made him look like some mongol warlord, ready to raid, kidnap and plunder everyone he points at.

This was General Ikeda Saburo. Original protege of legendary Gen. Iwata Michinori and representing "the classic school of military thought" so present in the Imperial Nihonese Army, which tended to combine conventional with unconventional. It meant a lot that Shogun chosen him to greet the Azurans; Ikeda had opinion of efficient and ruthless commander, as well as being a legendary figure from several wars. By choosing him to greet them Kojiro wanted not just to show Azurans respect, but also the sharpness of Nihonese katana, so they would realize that they are talking with equals, not with subjects.

"Kemper-san, Frémantle-san," Ikeda bowed himself slightly, as was the custom greeting for the Nihonese "Welcome to Nihon. Kojiro - taikun ue is awaiting you."

Ironic was the fact that the dress made, contrary to expectations, positive impression. For Ikeda it has been symbol of cultural status. But he had only a handful of time to contemplate that. They headed inside through the dance hall, having Azura go through the room that mixed european neoclassical decorum with traditional Nihonese elements, before going into more traditional decorated eating room. Here in Nihon tradition and modernity blended with each other, mutually inspiring themselves. In front of eyes of Azurans spread the beautiful works of art, such as neoclassical styled painting of modern Ishikawa or more traditional styled painting of fishermen on the waves, before venturing into samurai - themed dinning hall, where they could see an enormous painting taking the entire wall on which Chosokame no Yorimoto, first Christian shogun of Nihon led 3 500 samurai against 35 000 strong army of usurper - emperor during the battle of Shimazu that won him that title.

Philippine & Gauliscinian delegation

Kojiro decided to address first the question by the Philippine delegation first, citing the fact that they were seen as his fellow Asians. Interests in his own backyard were more important at this moment:

"I do." he said, his voice being calm, measured and expressing great degree of self control "Trade agreements at this moment would have to wait however. I intend to portray my vision during the opening speech"

Then, he turned to Osswuck and looked directly in his eyes:

"Please, end that. We are on a ball. Address me like your fellow man." he said, in polite but a bit annoyed way "It is my intention however that the empire of greater Nihon is eager to expand relations with the government of Gauliscia. I would portray you more information after my opening speech."

He braced himself, seeing that his people were leading everyone in, towards him. This was to be something that would come to history, a vision he intended to portray... for all of them

He braced himself, seeing that his people were leading everyone in, towards him. This was to be something that would come to history, a vision he intended to portray... for all of them

The intelligence had been well aware of Admiral Kenshin once visiting the Free Lands on a Cadet Cruise, in 1969, when he saw the old Rhiannon, who welcomed the ship the cadets cruised around the world in Silverport with eight salutes. They even managed to get a photo of young Kenshin.
If he got himself a sweetheart back in the day or not was not something they were able to find out - there were no childbirths recorded for 1969 or 1970, which would point towards a later Nihonese Admiral procreating with a child of the Free Lands.
Not that the Free Lands would use that against him...
The intelligence informed them about that.
"Please follow me", Kenshin said and made an inviting gesture, "Kojiro - taikun ue is awaiting you inside. He will deliver the welcoming speech once we all assemble."
"Ah, I look forward to it.", Crionna said in place of all of his delegation, a smile on his lips. "I sadly only know the shogun by his large reputation, so I look quite forward to hearing him during his speach and to talk to him later. It should be quite interesting."
Crionna followed the Admiral inside, the rest of the delegation following him. Marla's eyes went off the Admiral's swords. She found them interesting, as short swords in the Free Lands were practically non-existing nowadays - long daggers were a different story, but they were hardly short swords. Unless someone challenged her for entertainment, she would not dare to challenge anyone here.
Still, finding someone to sparr with for tomorrow would hopefully prove easier then one would think. Marla might even ask the Admiral, if he was up for it tomorrow.
Then, they passed the doors and were impressed. They did not think, that the Nihonese were barbarians of any kind, no more and no less then they were, but this place was a bit like Athrú Hall, the great hall of Fortham's Temple of Rhiannon, a modern multi-purpose hall build in traditional Selkie Style of wood and stone, where ceremonies and many other things happened. There, old people turned to Elders of their Tribe, maidens and younglings turned to servants of their gods... this hall had similarities to Athrú Hall in another way: Here, a swordrider from a long line of those and a horsearcher from a line of farmers turned into Ambassadors of their People.
Traditions and modern technology - for Selkie, both were present, formed life together. Life was supposed to shape technology, to dictate its use, not the other way around. Fusion of both was... interesting. Leonard made a note to himself to talk to someone about culture later, it would be very interesting for both.
Meanwhile, both Crionna and Kendra locked onto the main actor for the evening: The Shogun was sitting with a few delegates, discussing something. Both assumed, that he already saw them approaching, for thinking otherwise would be foolish.
Still, it was polite to remain back until invited into the conversation.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

Nakahara

"Thank you, that is most impressive..." she said of the first hovercraft. "And my goodness, this second one is a real beast isn't it? I wonder if it will fit on either of our amphibious ships. What we really need is that, you know, is the capacity to move troops and equipment ashore more efficiently. Right now we have just four old fashioned hovercraft and otherwise we are using older vessels for our ships. Of course such vessels are a bit slower and less well equipped for modern operations. Our fleets are engaged in operations in the Diols Archipelago in Arcologia and along the coast of Delvian States.

"But forgive me for leaping into business. I hope all is well here. I regret that my husband Prince Michael could not be here, for I am sure he would have enjoyed this trip," she lied. Michael would have been bored out of his mind. in fact she had come to wonder what exactly he was interested in other than being supportive and getting along well with people, and encouraging good relations with his family. I should have been the man, and he the woman she thought, not for the first time. yes, she loved him, and yes, she had her ambitions, but it had begun to irk her a bit. "How is the Shogun's health and mood today?"

Kasuga

Hisako made a mental note of the Chief of General staff of the Imperial Nihonese Army nominees. If it was important to the Nihonese then it was of the intrigue of Kirishima, which meant that Kasuga may need to recall this news someday.

Arata sensing that Asuka was ready to lead him to the shogun simply nodded and let Tokugawa lead the way. Arata did not necessarily trust various Nhonese officials to have respect or even a favorable view of the archipelagic state. In his opinion he felt that world affairs were nothing more than a game to some military officials with various parts of everyday life nothing more than pawns. Nevertheless Arata sought to change that and figured that relations will deepen with more dialogue and exposure. He personally found benefit in being close partners with Nihon and wanted to show assure his people back home that the Islands hidden in the mist were no pawn.

Arata smiled as he walked though the dance hall as he looked around fond of the setup before he was brought before the Shogun Maki Kojiro, the McCarthy of Asia as he was called in Nihon. Despite the negative connotation with McCarthy in Kirishima usually being associated with public attacks on the character or patriotism of political opponents that are often untrue. An event that took place as recently as the aftermath of the Homofront attack on Sakura Air. Something that has a lot of Kirishinan fed up but he would look past the titles and reputation and only refer and speak to the man he can see in front of him.

Arata bowed moderately with a trademark cheerful smile "Konbanwa Shogun, it's an honor to finally meet you in person. Also despite us believing in different deities, I pray that we have a successful and positive encounter!"

Gauliscian Delegation,
Tosa Castle, Ishikawa
Empire of Greater Nihon

The General retraced through his mind every phrase, word and syllable which may have caused offence, but he knew not where or how. Greatly dismayed and shamed, he struggled to meet the Shogun's eye.

"My Lord, Great Scourge of the rapacious and licentious red hordes and Keeper of the Christian Outpost of the Orient, if ever my utterings caused you offence or my gestures revulsion, have no hesitation as there are no consequences for you, and declare me the most unholy and unhonoured of men and, like a sunflower in brown Autumn, shall I wither away and be nothing to you any longer. Yet, that aside, the ever diligent pen wielding officers in the high halls of many turreted Chlowisbuerg have suggested to me that the beasts of war that your blacksmiths and mechanics forge and design in your hallowed and blackened smithies are of great repute and exceptional quality. My mind cannot stray from these as to procure such mechanisations would place a might so great upon our shoulders, many Hosts might think us fortunate in our dispositions."

“Strangers in a foreign land"
Tosa castle
Ishikawa
Nihon

Hulang

The Ditor of Akai found the nation of Nihon to be a curious place. He held a certain level of respect for its particular curiosities; he reflected upon Akai’s similarities and differences as he came over to this land foreign to him.

It was habitual for the Ditor now to study in intensive detail the nations he took an interest, as well as those who held Akai interests close at hand. The rise of the Steel Shogun Maki Kojiro in particular was something the young Ditor had studied at great lengths. To him it was a lesson on how to secure power and how to manipulate the public but also a lesson for himself. Akai had many people who could easily become the Akai Kojiro. His step-father the spymaster that was Molxue Woerjin, the faux-politeness of his uncle Qiang Lazin and worse of all the mad-prince Yanfeng who stood next to him. If all it took was information, he could be pressured in a manner which could make those who controlled information his masters in all but name. Those who controlled information about him ruled him but he also realised the opposite was true. They too were open to blackmail, their name being slandered and other things. He could be the judge of a nation if he held a monopoly on information. He already held a monopoly on the use of the force, if he was able to control information in a manner similar to his father - it would be one extra layer of security for him.

But it was not Kojiro who they first met but instead another member of his triumvirate - someone who Hulang and presumably his two uncles have been briefed in about. The Admiral Koyabashi was typical for the sort of man who’d Kojiro associate with. A military man from the Kaigun it seemed, and one who held the traditionalism of new regime in particularly high regard. The three Lazins observed him with the mask of sincerity, Sanfu offered a respectful bow while Yanfeng curved his head forwards in what Hulang could have described as almost a greeting. The Ditor himself however did not bow, instead acknowledge him with a glance. It would not be right for a Ditor to bow to someone lesser than him, it for Hulang implied a sense of equality to him. The Ditors were above men, at least in the traditions of the nation - something Hulang preserved.

"Konabawa Sanfu-denka and your excellencies" Kobayashi began before bowing however his attention seemed to be elsewhere. Jocasta… she might be useful here the Ditor thought, reflecting on his birthday now a few months ago. A strange friendship had formed between the two royals there and she had a much better reputation in the land of the most devout. He greeted her also, she was seemingly accompanied by some Nihonese oligarch. Hulang always had a healthy distrust of business - finding them as foolish as young noble who was led by the loins at times. Their selfishness and greed is what concerned him and how they often lacked the patriotism which was to be expected if let free. While the Akai state didn’t directly control business, it was a hand which helped make sure it did not undermine its interests.

“Admiral Koyabashi,” Sanfu began politely stepping before Hulang, in a subtle manner. The Ditor observed them both with great caution: “It is a pleasure to meet one of the great servants of Nihon. May I present my half-brother His Prime Highness Prince Ditoral Yanfeng Yalong Lazin and my nephew His perfection, Ditor Hulang I Huieke Lazin.” Sanfu was quick to veil his hated and loathing for his half-brother Yanfeng particularly carefully.

“You have an interesting and most respectable nation,” Hulang cautiously commented behind his mask as he did. “It shall be interesting to see the results of this meeting for sure, I have heard particularly great praise of Kojiro whether it be intended or not.”

"My apologizes, Jocasta - denka and Sanfu - denka. Maki - taikun ue is waiting for us!" the businessman spoke, as he paved a path for the Crown Princess through the halls of this palace. Hulang, ever keen to meet this Kojiro followed and began to study the art around him. The neoclassical style was to be expected of such traditionalists, it depicting the progress Ishikawa had created rather starkly. The more traditional paintings were also expected by the Ditor, reminding him of the Akai styles quite a fair bit - focusing on fishermen.

As the trio entered the hall they all seemed to notice a shift in the motif of the paintings - now they focused on the samurai of the Nihonese and it was one sight which captivated him. A painting so great and grandeur it covered the wall. The Christian Shogun, Chosokame no Yorimoto Hulang thought as he studied him. He had studied Nihonese history for a while, as a way of understanding their nation and this character in particular seemingly played a critical role. He and his Ghantish wife shaped Nihon into its Christian self, and carried an Odachi sword which would impress even Shang.

And in a very Akai manner, sat Maki Kojiro - the bane of communism and internationalism around the world. He was as Hulang expected him to be, a man calm and shrewd - and if rather small in comparison to himself. Hulang knew this man however was a giant in terms of his true nature. He was intelligent, patient and one who had carefully orchestrated Nihon’s ascent. While his uncles bowed their heads again, Hulang did not and instead he studied the man before him and the symbolism of him sitting before this great Christian Shogun. “Thank you, sáugiaān - Shogun Maki Kojiro for hosting us here today. We hope that the results of this meeting shall be as wonderful as the art you have displayed here. I am his perfection Ditor Hulang I Huieke Lazin, son of Ditor Jieke, and these are my uncles Princes Ditoral Yanfeng and Sanfu - sons of Ditor Long and brothers of the late Ditor Jieke.” The Ditor paused for a second, contemplating his next words carefully as he did and continued his red stare. “Could I inquire whether the figure depicted in the painting behind you, is Shogun Chosokame no Yorimoto? His feats against the Emperor Go are exceptionally impressive from what I have been able to study of him. Also, may I ask would you prefer it if you would prefer it if me and my uncles removed our masks?”

Arrival of the Fehélángan delegation

Count Vlagyimir Dúmedves could not deny the beauty of Ishikawa as he looked up to the great palace in front of him while wiping the sweat from his brow. He still had to get used to the hot climate of Nihon and walking fully exposured to the sun didn't help. The reason they did this was because Vlagyimir had wanted to have a good look of the old city which he propably wouldn't visit again any time soon.

Vlagyimir had been surprised when he was asked as envoy to the conference but he later realised it made sense as he was a neutral noble with much economic expertise and Fehélángország had mostly economic interests at the conference.

Vlagyimir was happy to see they were now reaching the palace as his walk trough the city had been hard for his old body. Besides, he would be late if he wouldn't reach the conference soon.

With Vlagyimir were only two Fehélángoi at the moment, a bodyguard and a lower aide which had allowed Vlagyimir to move freely the way he liked. Now they had reached the palace, however, joined Nihonese honour guards Vlagyimir as they led him up the stairs to the palace.
Vlagyimir admired the Nihonese soldiers on his way to the palace. He was no soldier but he could cearly see that these were elite soldiers and he had learned to respect such men. The disciplined Nihonese soldiers were not without reason known for their capability within Fehélángország which was of course the reason why several regiments were employed there.

Aside from his resect for their military held Vlagyimir a mixed vision on Nihon, he respected their merocratic system but disliked the unimportance of noble bloodas well as the too openly present autocracy as well as the too ectreme conservatism. On the other hand, however, he liked the mentality and the respect for old traditions as well the good-organized economic system.

By now had Nihonese guards guided Vlagyimir into the palace and he could now see the person who would propably take him to the conference room(s). Vlagyimir took once last breath before approaching as it had been a few months since his last foreign visit. Then he walked confidently forwards.

The McNernian Delegation

His Royal Highness could not deny that the city of Fujian was a city comparable to Seoul or Beijing, or Tokyo for that matter. He had visited the three cities, one in a bid to show the solidarity of the Mcnernians with the Anti-Communist ROK Government in South Korea and the Beijing visit was a bid to not subvert the elected Government but at the encourage of various voices in Parliament that did not preach appeasement to the degree that the PRC was abke to get all of what they wanted for their agression. But the end goal was to secure the interests of all kinds of people. But there were other things that was on the mind of Prince Emmett, the business of Homofront, these terrorists. They were a dangerous bunch. KMSF, the MRC Special Task Force, Special Branch and the Security Service, SIS ,CCHQ were all obligated under the Terrorism Act to take a role in the fight.

The prince was dressed in his usual uniform of the Army Air Corps, a duty Uniform though he had shaved and that had gotten a kiss from his Neice, Princess Emily was due to meet some of the troops but the girl, a beautiful young woman had time for a kiss for her uncle before he left. Silvarianna had been so happy to be back as had the Princesses and the Prince. And the woman his brother Fredrick loved, wedding bells would perhaps toll for the dark skinned lass and his dear brother. She was a beauty and a friend of his brothers wife. Would he get a fine lass like that. Best to leave that for later. As of now there was something that would have to be done. The Prince had arrived by the usual MRAF VIP transport. The Prince smiled looking at the beauty of the Palace. He was accompanied by the usual aides.

Name: Imperator Tyler Holland

Age: 49

Family & Relationships:
-Wives: Allison (Née Kaiser) Holland
-2nd Imperial Consort: Fabia Attica
-Children:
-Matthew Holland (Crown Prince)
-William Holland (3rd in line to the throne)
-Annabelle Holland
-Aaron Holland (4th in line to the throne)
-John Holland (5th in line to the throne)

Occupation & history:
Tyler Holland (born in the year 1967) is the fifteenth Imperator of the unified Empire of Shalum. He assumed the throne in 2004 following the sudden death of his older brother, William, who had long standing heart issues. Between 1985 and 1990, Tyler served as a marine in the 103rd Naval Infantry Division. Due to his status as a royal who could inherit the throne at any time, the majority of his postings were in ‘safe’ areas of the country, where the chances of him seeing combat were not likely.

Since assuming the throne, Imperator Holland has made great strides to see his country become a well respected and powerful nation on the international stage. His predecessor had similar goals, and is responsible for a good deal of the Imperial military’s modernization and expansion, which Tyler has seen furthered under his administration. Under Imperator Holland’s rule, the Empire of Shalum has created a number of military alliances with friendly, like-minded nations, and has also entered in the organization known as SACTO.

Other alliances have been secured through marriage, like with the Late Roman Empire, who married a noblewoman by the name of Fabia Attica off to the Imperator.

Political beliefs & Stance on Nihon:

The political stance of the Imperator is something that could be considered ambiguous. Identifying as an independent of sorts, he often finds himself in the middle grounds, between the liberal and conservative elements of the Empire he rules over. As far as his feelings towards Nihon, the Imperator is eager to improve relations between his nation and his hosts. He has expressed regret in the past over not being able to meet with the Shogun or any members of his administration beforehand, and hopes that the Congress will be a chance to set things straight for some time to come.

Psychological profile:

The Imperator is a well mannered man, thanks in no small part to his upbringing. While the stereotype of royals is for them to be extravagant, in reality, they are being raised to be the next leaders of their country, and are treated to act as such from a young age. Tyler is known to be a rather professional and serious person when on the job. He takes his occupation seriously, and carries himself as he thinks the leader of a nation should. In terms of his personal life, that is how he prefers to keep it, personal. Other than during special press events and some holidays, when he is not ‘on duty,’ he prefers to remain and out of the spotlight.

Name: Duke Joshua Blackburn

Age: 55

Family & Relationships:

Wife: Nicole Blackburn
Children:
-Count Alexander Blackburn
-Count James Blackburn
-Cont Jonathan Blackburn

Occupation & history:

Joshua is the Duke of Heneheim, the largest Duchy of Shalum, which is known as the Empire’s breadbasket. He has been a constant supporter of ‘green’ technologies, and crop-production methods that do not have harmful effects on the environment. In the year 2004, when Tyler Holland ascended to the throne, he was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture.

Political beliefs & Stance on Nihon:

Joshua is a strong supporter of the crown, though he is not especially active on the political scene otherwise. While he has strong executive powers, as the Duke of his Duchy, he prefers to let elected legislature handle matters, and only step in as necessary. He is indifferent to Nihon at the moment, due to the fact that he wants to meet with Imperial officials and witness how they carry themselves first.

Psychological profile:

Joshua Blackburn is known to be a quiet, but well mannered man with a good heart. He is hardworking, and travels often; something many blame on the fact that his relationship with his wife could be considered ‘strained’ at best. He is rich, but is known to give good deals of money to charities and the poor year-round, as he believes the Lord commands him to do.

Shalumite Delegation
Tosa Castle, Ishikawa
Empire of Greater Nihon

“If you are early to a meeting, then you are on time. If you are on time to a meeting, then you are late. And if you are late to a meeting, it is best to simply not show up at all, and beg forgiveness at a later date.” In Shalum, such a statement was one that many knew by heart, and practiced in their daily lives; whether it meant arriving at work fifteen minutes before their schedules required the employee to clock in, or ten minutes early to daily or weekly mass so that one would have time to silently reflect on the divine mercies of the Lord.

Unsurprisingly, the statement had become popular with the military culture of the Empire many years ago, perhaps even as early as the inception of the modern Imperial fighting force. It was a phrase synonymous with many of the values that His Majesty’s Armed Forces sought to pass onto young cadets.

There were, of course, many other teachings that were passed on from drill instructor to the next generation of Imperial warrior; however, no others came to the forefront of Imperator Holland’s mind as he glanced down at the platinum rolex watch that was wrapped around his wrist by a band that likely cost as much as the state car he was riding in.

While he would have never admitted it aloud, Tyler Holland was nervous, or at least anxious to arrive at his destination. If the readings on his timekeeping device meant anything, he was already late for the reception of sorts at the palace. And late to an official meeting was something he hadn’t been in years.

On the contrary to the executive of Shalum, the Minister of Agriculture looked quite content, eyes cast outwards towards the passing Nihonese countryside as the state car zipped along the road towards Tosa castle. Always one to admire nature, as well as architecture, he was. “It kind of reminds me of Hostillia. Just more developed,” the Duke of Heneheim said; trying to fill the silence as he smiled slightly. Of course, the Asiatic nation in question (who Shalum was also allied with) was of the Chinese blend, whereas Nihon was not.

Finally, the car came to a stop at the palace where the Congress would take place, and the Imperial party prepared themselves to exit the vehicle. The Imperator and Minister of Agriculture were not the only ones present. No, they had brought a secretary along with them, who had the job of keeping track of things like their laptops and work tablets in case they were necessary later. There were also a couple members of the Imperial Lifeguard present, one of whom immediately exited the vehicle to open the door for those he was charged with protecting.

With the surge of Nihonese recruits in the Imperial military, thanks in no small part to their diaspora, there had been a push for some of the Imperator’s bodyguards today to be those of local blood. And while he would have certainly welcomed it, enough time had not yet passed for any of the foreign recruits to make it to the level of training and experience that the Lifeguard expected of its members. Given that they would not compromise their standards for anyone, even to impress foreign dignitaries, it meant that their hosts would be stuck with Germanic and Polish guardians.

“Thank you, soldier.” Tyler said to the man quietly, but gratefully as he exited the vehicle. Pausing for a moment, the Imperator ran his fingers through his hair, wishing that he would have cut it before he departed from his homeland, instead of simply applying some gel to it. There was no time to fix it now, however, since they were at their destination. Looking over at Joshua Blackburn, he nodded at the man, before they began to make their way into Tosa Castle together.
Conscription is the vitality of a nation, the purification of its morality, and the real foundations of all its habits.

It is better to be a warrior in a garden then to be a gardener in a war.

Name: Albert Simon Niveus
Image
Age: 67

Family & Relationships: Albert Simon is the fifth Prince Niveus of Morion and is distantly related to King Petrus Niveus the Marmor (reigned 1867-69) via the lesser known Niveus family at Silvermere. The Niveus family was given the Princedom of Morion after the death of Rachael Feldspar, the widow of Prince Hamilton of Morion. Since 1869 there has been an unbroken line of Niveus Princes in Morion. Unfortunately, while the Niveus family is a preeminent one with a great deal of sway in national affairs, most houses have been wary of intermarrying with the former regnant house, which has isolated the family to some degree.

Occupation & history: Albert Simon is the third Niveus to serve as the Chair of the Order of the Kingdom, which is Geara’s official, princely oversight committee on the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As such, Prince Albert Simon is considered the foremost authority on foreign affairs and has the right to advise the King on policy. It is a relatively common practice for government positions to be unofficially inherited such as the chairmanship of particular Orders of the government.

Political believes & Stance on Nihon: Like most Gearan scholars, Prince Albert Simon is a protectionist and a staunch enforcer of the Public Trade Act of 1983, which strongly curtails the ability of foreign businesses to practice any form of investment. However, much like King Aethereus, Prince Albert is ardent merchant who is willing to make exceptions to ensure the widespread sale of Gearan goods. Economics in Geara have been strongly influenced by Dr. David Lowfield’s 1960 classic work Trade, which in turn is typically described as Keynesian.

Nihon, being a developed nation with an aristocratic class, is an obvious target for Gearan export of luxury goods and services. However, given some cultural comparisons, there is room for possible conflicts over sericulture and tea. Secondly, the essential function of Geara’s own aristocratic class is to supply capital, which typically is based partially on depressed interest due to foreign investment, of which Nihon may be a profitable source of capital. Finally, Geara’s blooming information technology sector typically depends on foreign manufacturing. Therefore Nihon is potential importer, capital source, and manufacturer.

Psychological profile: Gearan gentlemen of station do not stoop to anything so base as nationalism, but Prince Albert is very proud of his work in international affairs. He does not typically negotiate so directly, preferring to differ the actual talking to Matthew French his Minister of Foreign Affairs. However, in an effort to show solidarity with fellow Christians, King Locuples has asked that Prince Albert personally attend. This makes it both out of the Prince’s comfort zone and an extremely grave undertaking. Thus is stressed (in a genteel sort of way) and may not be prone to charisma.

Prince Albert Simon
Tosa Castle, Ishikawa
Empire of Greater Nihon

He tugged slightly at the edges of his jacket and cleared his throat. He was a man past his prime who had spent a great deal of time attempting to prevent the passage of time. His dull brown skin was cared for meticulously and he seemed healthy generally speaking, but that did not prevent his jacket from riding up uncomfortably on his ever-expanding gut. He tugged at it again, attempting to satisfy himself with the shape and rather wishing that he could have worn his better-tailored evening dress instead of his old court uniform. It was certainly elegant in its own way. A soft, shimmery white that made it obvious that it was silk, swooped up to a high standing collar and his glossy black beard. The same material ran down to his sparkling shoes, but did little to distract from seven brilliant gold lines that traced their way from his left should to his right hip. These were golden threads, the ultimate symbol of accumulated status in Gearan society. His only other ornament was a discreet pin with three grains of wheat in a bushel which completed his so-called “Nivean” uniform.

He was alone, a peculiar business, but definitely another kowtow to the empire. Singularity meant that he had nothing to fear and nothing to hide as well as demonstrating his executive authority to carry out negotiations without consultations. The many, many metaphors enclosed in his solitude were ponderous and sometimes contradictory. That was simply the way of Gearan Princes, like a lumbering tome of bygone poets who wished to recite.

Prince Albert Simon Niveus, for that was the name of the slightly off gentleman, was pleased to finally see something of the heart of the city for he had quickly grown bored of the stifling newness of the city. Gearans love old things above all else, the more ancient the more they valued it, so to be sitting in the remains of an archaic city’s heart, Tosa Castle, relieved the old man’s worry and replaced it with a kind of childlike glee. The many shimmering parts of his uniform, from the golden ornaments and luminous silk, to the glossy blacks of his hair and shoes, he seemed to catch the light and project it in an aura around him. He breathed a sigh of relief and turned to greet his hosts.
