It seems that the next President of the former colonies is going to be either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. Since those are two terrible, terrible choices, what if the Americans made Elizabeth II Queen of the United States?



Of course the US would not cease to be independent, but think of the advantages:

- No more political gridlock between the executive and the legislative branch, since Congress would also elect the Prime-Minister of the United States;
- No more Republican Party, since there is no longer a republic to defend;
- Think of all the money you would save if you did not hold presidential elections;
- A victory for progressivism, as Her Majesty would be the first woman to reign as a US Head of State;
- Congress would never elect Donald Trump as Prime-Minister.

As a Canadian, I think I can safely say that you Americans don't know what you are missing. No country has fought harder or longer than mine to not be independent. We would still be a colony if they would let us.

As an American, I can say with full confidence that I would heartily welcome it if Her Majesty was to accept her rule over the United States of America, and bring the country into the Commonwealth of Nations. That statement in blue above seems to be misleading. The UK. had 13 former colonies which tended to huge the Atlantic coast. A larger portion of what is today the US was under the Spanish Monarchy. So would it not make more sense to bring in the current Spanish Bourbon Monarchy.

Haha, Eurovision is a guilty pleasure of mine. I wish I was actually in Europe so I could vote, though. I'm really bummed this year though since Romania got disqualified ;_;.
