I like how they edited me out of this update, given that I wrote every ounce of it and picked the pictures myself. :P

Why would they want to include an update which features a former official who now seems intent on black-brushing them, again? It always seems like such a waste of time to acknowledge offended turncoats in an official release of news and/or media coverage.

You should, if anything, be glad that they aren't like your own precious news medium and didn't give you a segment which called out shortcomings and belittled you. I wonder if the next TRT issue will feature an article on you doing the reverse.

Although, your ego might be less offended by this release if they had actually decided to mention your actions. What a pity. :o

Yeah BT, I wrote this update. Every syllable. It was even released in a few regions before I was redacted. You should know, you saw the draft in the private cabinet area of the forum. :P

@Xoriet Whatevs son. -_-

Then again I suppose Deadeye Jack will play the stooge for Funk. Funk nagged over IRC because I approved an embassy for like 2 imperialist/raider regions that I thought we could at the very least have a cultural thing with, but to quote him "I don't want to buddy up with raiders/imperialists. It might make us come off as independents." xD

I wrote the piece about the Summer Festival, which makes up quite a bit of the report.

Also, don't you dare speak of Jack that way. You have no idea who he is or what he's capable of accomplishing. You're getting rather close to burning that bridge.

A mention should have occured - isn't right to just steal the work of someone. More to the point I don't really see a point to "mention his actions" when the actions seem to be nothing larger then someone expressing free thought.

I'll leave it there - Not gonna argue with you of course Sandy. :3

Statement of the Sovereign of Lazarus on events in Osiris

I've never had much to do with Osiris, and I don't know Cormac very well, though he did seem friendly and helpful when he was hanging around on the Lazarus forums after the Stujenske coup, and he ran a prefectly gentlemanly campaign when he ran for Sovereign in our December 2015 elections.

I was looking at some of Cormac's posts and found this, which he wrote in the post announcing his candidacy:

Cormac wrote:Aren't you a raider? Won't you coup?
Yep, I'm a raider. Regarding couping, whatever crappy track records I may have on other matters, I have never supported a coup against a Feeder or Sinker. I have opposed every coup that has been perpetrated against a Feeder or Sinker during my time in NationStates, including the NPO coup against Lazarus. There's no reason to believe I would coup and every reason to believe I wouldn't, but I know I won't convince anyone who is predisposed to thinking I'm bad news, so that's all I have to say on the matter.

After he finished a distant 3rd in the voting, Cormac stopped hanging around the Lazarus forum. Maybe he didn't like not having power and influence. Maybe he didn't like losing an election to a NationStates nobody (me!). Current events in Orisis suggest to me that the answer to both those questions is "yes".

For my part, this is all very reminiscent of the Stujenske coup and the antics of the Gang of Five (Stujenske, Pergamon, Feux, AMOM, and Milograd). The rhetoric coming from Cormac and his cronies is virtually identical. The mindset is probably similar: they see Osiris as their personal plaything, they don't want to share it with anyone who isn't part of their clique, and they'll use whatever means and justifications they think they must to hold on to it. It's disappointing to see this kind of childish selfishness, but sadly it is far from surprising.

In any case, the Humane Republic of Lazarus condemns Cormac for his actions in overthrowing the legitimate government of Osiris; condemns Tim Stark for enabling Cormac's seizure of power; condemns their hangers-on, apologists and sycophants for betraying democracy; recognizes The Almighty Jesus Whale as the legitimate Pharaoh of Osiris; pledges to support The Almighty Jesus Whale in restoring democracy to Osiris; and calls on regions holding embassies with Osiris to withdraw them as a show of soldidarity with the Osiran people.[/quote]

So I couldn't help but notice that, well prior to the above announcement, former Lazarus Delegate Funkadelia dropped the WA status on his main Lazarus nation, applied it to a puppet, and then endoswapped with every WA nation he could in Osiris before being banned.

I also noticed that the Lazarus-Osiris Nonaggression Pact is still technically in effect.

Doesn't this action count as a violation of the Nonaggression Pact and if so does that mean Lazarus just more or less declared war on Osiris?

If I might add, the treaty is with the Osiris Fraternal Order, whose Pharaoh is The Almighty Jesus Whale. The current regime in power in Osiris is one that is actively hostile to the OFO.

The Pact is with legitimate governments:

Article 1 - Mutual recognition

We recognize the signatories of this treaty as the sole legitimate government of their respective regions.
We further recognize any legitimate successor government that may legally arise in these regions in perpetuity.

Since Cormac's junta came to power illegally, and is therefore illegitimate, we aren't bound by the terms of the pact.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Osiris signature on that Pact belong to Tim Stark?

Very ironic that this Lazarus government is now disavowing the very leader who signed the NAP on behalf of Osiris.

It was signed by Tim Stark, but only in his capacity as a representive of the OFO. The office he presided over was the source of his authority and legitimacy. The only contradiction here is Tim and his colleagues' actions - whose behaviour uses the force and authority bestowed to them by a region and its constitution against that very same region and its democracy.

You condemned and name-called a neutral member (Zaolat) and a supporter of The Almighty Jesus Whale (Revert) in your emotionally-fueled verbal carpet bombing, Lazarus. Watch the collateral next time.

I supported the PRL during the Stujenske coup and cheered when the NPO/"NLO" was defeated in Lazarus. Now I find myself on the other end, supporting Cormac, Tim, Koth, etc in Osiris.

That's because at the end of the day, I don't pick my side based on sovereignty, democracy, or any of the fake facets we have in this game. I pick my side based on who I feel comfortable being alongside. I've had OOC interactions with nearly everyone involved in this, and I chose the side with the least toxicity in my mind. That's it. I don't care what labels that puts on me, or what it does to my reputation.

If reputation is what I cared about, I'd be staying out of this shit.
