This RP is a Sandbox Medieval civilization RP ( as the title clearly says). For those of you whom may not be confused with this summary, allow me to explain: this world will be created via the apps and ideas of the participants, with the only restrictions being that technology be around the medieval era and that this remains low fantasy ( you can have oracles and sorcerers, but no mythical creatures). As an example, say you place your app as a nation in the south eastern most point on the map and detailed how it was a desert like region. That part of the world would now be considered desert like from now on, and future apps of other players would have to reflect this. Note, that this continent does not have an official name; this being because your civilization will call it something different than say the neighbor one ( this may change in the future, depending on the gameplay).

Along with terrain being affected by your apps, you will be able to create an entire civilization ( with details regarding religion, culture, tradition, and history being included) from scratch.

This is a nation/adventure RP, meaning that the intention of this RP is for yours and other nations to partake in shaping the history of this continent ( war, trade, marry, and convert other nations). You shall be playing as the leader/s of your nation and shall simulate your nations action; an example of this is done in the spoiler below.

I am hoping for an incredibly detailed and riveting RP, the feel of which resembles and epic story or simply magnificent history. I would ask that you help me make it so.

* This continent is roughly the size of Africa

The court of King Tyrion could be best summarized as dank. Few windows were present in the room, so many areas of the hall were shrouded in darkness. The humidity from the recent rainfall made the room feel, despite it's immense size, claustrophobic. King Tyrion sat upon his stone throne. Despite his age, he held his back up straight and his chin high, a look of practiced nobility. His gaze was cast down upon a leather clad man kneeling, with sword in hand, before his throne. " Your grace, despite my efforts, Fort. Mcgalluen has been taken by the Barbarian hordes. They now posses a clear lane of passage into our homeland. I am the only one to blame, your grace, for it was my failure to hold the fort which has led us to our current predicament. My only regret is not dying alongside my men."

The disgraced commander held his head down in shame. King Tyrion was too caught in the information that he had just received to regard the pathetic look of the commander. The court goes silent for a time. The aging monarch then takes in a deep breath. " Send ravens to every settlement along our border. Tell them to prepare for a barbarian attack at any time! General Cornelius!?" Another leather clad man stood up in attention along one of the benches present in the court. General Cornelius saluted, " Your Grace?"

" Prepare your army to march south in two days time. You are to drive out any horde you find there, and to reinforce our settlement towns. If a settlement should happen to fall before you reach your destination, retake it and drive out the invaders. Nobles, gentlemen, prepare your prayers and bless your sons, for we are in grave times. We must prepare the last of our forces for war!"

Three days later

General Cornelius rode atop his horse, watching the rows upon rows of leather clad men marching through the wooded path. Every step closer, their hearts grew more fearful, every second they were away from the front made them more anxious. They had only been moving for a day, but they were already half way to their final destination. Once they reached the south, they knew it would be solely up to them to spearhead any counter attack against the barbarians. If they failed, it would spell doom for the whole kingdom.

Rules:

1. General NS Rules of play
2. You shall make no startling jump in technological advancement without my personally expressed permission
3. Your posts must not show significant amounts of time gone by. You cannot say, for example, that you marched your army from one end of the map to the other in only 1-2 posts. Significant travel ( and action) requires a linear progression of posts to show the plausible movement of time.
4. I want this to be a serious RP, so I would prefer that IC posts be made in a conservative and appropriate manner ( I do not want to read about your leader doing bungee jumping off of a cliff.) This is not to say, however, that you are not permitted from writing gruesome things; this era in time was known for it's brutality, so to show this is more than acceptable ( again, so long as it is done in an appropriate manner).
5. You may not write the actions or dialogue of another player for that player.
6. A continuation of 5: battles will inevitably occur between player controlled groups; when this happens, you will show your army committing an action, and waiting for the enemy army to respond.
7. If you are defeated in battle, or in a situation that almost certainly spells defeat, please lose gracefully. Sore losers and deus ex machina will not be appreciated or tolerated.
8. I writing of a high quality, and of no less than two paragraphs. The exception being conversations.
9. You are permitted to sim the actions of unimportant NPC characters.
10. I am supreme in all OOC and IC regards, my word is law and I retain the right to kick out or deny any application.

* In regards to magic and it's usage in this world: magic does indeed exist, but in a limited manner. Magic users are rare, and retain limited powers ( these users and limits will be dictated by you). As an example: civilization A posses 10 men known augurs, whom can read the minds of people in their presence, and civilization B posses 30 shamans whom can bend the wills of most local life.

Civilization name ( in native language): Yahghil
Language name: Yahg
Nation on map ( Make it relatively small. Make it a different color than other player colors): ( its the sky blue one)
Capital ( if any): Kulvask
Leader/s and title: High King Yver

Religion ( if any) name: Thu'umism
General rundown of mythology ( must be at least 1 paragraph): In the beginning, Thu'um created the land of Yahghil by lifting it out of the sea. He then created the sun and the moon. With Sun and Earth, life began to sprout upon Yahghil, so Thu'um pulled off one of his fingers and turned it into the god of the wild, Kemli, to watch over and protect the wild.

Kemli was beautiful and cruel, and because of his cruelty, the first death occurred. The creature existed in a state of Limbo because it could not go back to the world of the living, but had no where else to go. So, Thu'um created the White World, a world where the dead would live for eternity. This White World was an exact copy of Yahghil, except that it contained every living thing that ever lived and died in Yahghil. Thu'um pulled off another finger and made the god and ruler of the White World, Kana.

Thu'um created a friend for Kemli by pulling off yet another finger and making the god of emotion, Gan. Gan was the embodiment of all emotion ( Love, hate, confusion, joy, jealousy, fear, curiosity, thrill, and sadness). Gan and Kemli were friends for a long time, but as their friendship went on, Gan became jealous of all that Kemli had to rule over. In the cover of night, Gan created man in secret from seder trees. He placed a small amount of his soul in each man, so that they were emotional just like him. By the time Kemli had found out of his friend's betrayal, man had populated the entirety of Yahghil.

Kemli would vow to destroy man, by beginning a two year long winter that would kill thousands of living beings. The death toll became so high that Kana was overwhelmed and demanded to Thu'um that Kemli stop. Kemli replied that he was seeking just retribution for what Gan did. While Thu'um saw that Kemli was in the right, he also did not want kana to be overwhelmed by the burden of so many suddenly dead. He then demanded to Kemli, that his winters last no longer than 5 months.

That is the mythology so far.
Afterlife ( if any) description: The White World: an exact replica of Yahghil, only all things that have ever died in Yahghil live here eternally. It is always summer in the White World. Those whom have done good with their lives and have loyal and paid back all their debts will be allowed to live in peace with their lost loved ones. Those whom have been disloyal, or whom have not paid back all of their debts will be met with constant struggle in the White World.
god/s?: Thu'um the creator, Kemli the god of the wild, Kana the god of the White World and death, Gan the god of emotion and man.
Demons/Devils?: Kemli and Gan are also the religion's antagonists. They are constantly fighting each other, and each can be both merciful and extremely cruel.
Religious Human leaders?: The White Seerers ( description below)
Commandments ( things that this religion demands of it's followers?): To always remain loyal to your house and your peers. To Hold all oaths and promises made. To pay back all your debts.

Holidays ( what are they called, what are they about, when): Tvise: March 1st, to celebrate the end of winter. Families leave their homes and do not enter again for an entire day. While outside, they sing and fish and play with friends. At night, they pray to Kemli to let the summer be warm and the rains plentiful.

Kvise: October 30th, to prepare for winter. Once the summer is over and the winter begins again, every family enters their home on this day and does not leave until sundown. While inside they prayer to Kemli not to make the winter too harsh, they pray to Gan to protect them through the cold, and they pray to Kana that if they should die that their souls be made happy in the White World.

Kashu'un day: June 6th, to celebrate the end of the civil war. 400 years prior to the events of this RP, Yahgil was divided between 20 major families that constantly warred against each other. Hundreds of thousands died and warfare was constant. It was only after Takor the wise negotiated with the heads of every other family did the war thousand years of war finally end. In the place of the feuding states, a feudal system was established. At it's head was a High King, whom was elected by the heads of each noble house upon the death of the old.

The current noble families gather in Kulvask on this day in a spectacular ceremony, where stories of battle and epic songs are sung. Feasting lasts for three days, and on the third day the High King and the noble houses travel to the Kulvask crypt to honor the noble dead.

Customs: It is customary to look another directly in the eyes as they are talking to you. The peasantry must speak in formal tones to the High King and members of high families. Children get the first pick of food at any feast. When an elder is in your home, he must be offered the home owners finest tobacco; the elder must then smoke it in front of their family.
Gender roles: Men are the heads of the household and are responsible for hunting, most farming, construction, leading prayer, leading song, ruling, and going to war.

Women are the secondary masters and are responsible for cooking, farming, cleaning, child rearing, fishing, and teaching the children

Family structure: Families are the most important aspect of Yaghil society. Each family, from the lowest peasantry, to the highest noble house can posses any where from four members, to over 200. Each family has a clan head, and these heads are in charge of leading clan ceremonies, making long term business plans, calling up certain men to serve in war, and possible apprenticeships.
Fashion: Peasant fashion: Men ware brown pants, with silvery belt buckles. Baggy green or red shirts with brown and gold tunics. They usually wear a hip length, or even occasionally knee length cape. All men posses beards, as being clean shaven is seen as either woman like or childlike. These beards are either allowed to run free or to be tied up in locks. Their head hair is kept at no longer than shoulder length.

Women wear green or white tunics with brown and gold coats. Brown pants are worn underneath their tunics. They wear their hair back in either a single pony tail reaching all the way down the length of their back, or in a single bun.
How and or when does one reach adulthood?: Both boys and girls reach adulthood when they are married ( almost unanimously) at the age of 15.
Marriage ( is it voluntary or arranged?): For the peasantry it is usually voluntary, but for the noble clans it is almost always arranged.
Music ( give some favored instruments, a song if you want!): Nearly all music is done via singing alone. Highly skilled singers are deeply regarded in Yahglin. Many families send their sons and daughters off to apprentice under professional singers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cer1un9vciI
Most important virtue in life ( Ex: Pious, honorable, knowledgeable, devout, ect.): Loyalty

Terrain/s present in nation ( where?): Bordering between Deciduous and Taiga. resembling of southern Norway. This being everywher
Agriculture, fishing, hunting; which is the most prominent source of food in your civ?: Agriculture
(Only agriculture) tell how bountiful your harvests are and what crops you mostly grow: Reasonable/ wheat, barely, hay

Number of people living in your civ: 400,000
Nomadic or stationary: Stationary
Does slavery exist ( if so, how many slaves are there? How many freeman are there?): No, but indentured servitude for debts does
Describe ( or provide a picture) the appearance of your average male and female citizen: Men are on average 6 feet tall and around 200 pounds. They posses bright red hair, to strawberry blond hair. They wear shoulder length head hair, and posses long braided beards. They also have brown eyes.

Women, are on average 5 " 8" feet tall. They are around 160 pounds. They posses brown eyes and have bright red to strawberry blond hair that is usually put in a long pony tail or bun.

How many soldiers do you have ( no more than 16th of your population, the more troops you have, the harder it will be on your nations welfare when they are deployed): 10,000
Political System ( how is your civ ruled): Feudal system
Main mode of travel: Foot
What powers do your civs' leader/s posses; how do they gain power?: The High King is the absolute ruler of Yaghil and retain the ability to strip any noble person of the privileges associated with their family. The High King also retains the ability to declare war and truces.
Distinct Caste ( classes) in your society?: Peasantry, Noble families
( Optional) flaws inherent in your society ( For example, infighting or class tensions): Corruption. Noble families maintain most political control in Yaghil affairs, and constantly favor either their relatives or supporters.

History of your civ ( be as detailed as possible. The more you write the better!): The history of Yahghil can be traced back to around 2,500 years prior to the events of the IC. Yahghil was originally inhabited by a series of nomadic tribes that would rely on the hunting of boars and other large mammals. The first permanent settlements would be riverside villages that would farm wheat.

2,000 years ago, the first noble clan was founded in a riverside village, the Avakarii. The Avakarii would gain power in their village through a game of Kagath ( a fighting ritual sport, where two men would battle over possessions.). The Avakarii family head, known as Hagoth the great, would go on to conquer all of Northern Yahghil. His dynasty would rule over northern Yahghil for the next 200 years, until the Hadvarii family would take the throne. Once the Hadvarii came to power, they would wage a 30 year war in taking southern Yaghill. They had finally conquered all of Yahghil.

The Hadvarii dynasty would only last 70 years before the lakghal family would take power. They would begin the usage of the White Seerer's as the official religious leaders of the nation. Their dynasty would last for 302 years. Once their dynasty failed to produce an heir, Yahghil would soon collapse in a state of civil war between the now 29 noble clans.

This state of constant warring would last for the next 1,028 years. It was only after Takor the Wise, head of Clan Hadvarii, negotiated with the now 20 other noble clans for a peace. This council would unite every noble clan into a single kingdom, headed by a High King whom would be elected by the clan heads. The first High King of Yahghil was High King Tarion of Ancient House Avakarii. Over the next 400 years, the Yahghil would gain minor territorial gains in it's east, and would increase their own agricultural production tremendously. The last 400 years have been a time of peace for Yahghil.

( only if you want magic users) Magic Users ( What are they called, how many of them are there? What are their powers? Give a general description of them): The White Seerers. These are men and women whom were born blind to this world, but able to see into the White World ( world of the dead). Not only would they be able to see into the White World, but they could speak to those whom lived there. There are 12 White Seerers across Yahghil. On the day that a White Seerer dies, a child is born somewhere in Yahghil with the White sight. The seerers must then search for this child to replace the old seerer.

Capital: Thiudabaurg (Also the only permant settlement)
Leader/s and title: Euric, sunaus Jaramir, sunaus Ellac; Haugh Thiudans. (Euric, son of Jaramir, son of Ellac; High King)

Religion name: Himinsguth
General rundown of mythology: Himinsguth is a very simple religion. There is one god, Himnis, the God of the Endless Sky. The Marhusfrauja are his chosen people, and Himnis has given the earth to them, to conquer. The Marhusfrauja believe they have been given a divine mandate to conquer the entire earth and subdue the haithns (non-believers). Birds of Prey are the sacred creatures of Himnis, and seeing a bird of prey before battle is a good omen.

God: Himnis - God of the Sky.
Demons/Devils: None.

Holidays: Thiudansdag - The First Day of the Year, in which all chiefs and lords come to the Thiudabaurg and swear their loyalty to the High King. This is followed by a week of feasting, and ends with a great hunt.
Customs: The High King is given a immense deal of reverence. In formal situations, all present lay themselves prostrate before the king until he gives them permission to rise. (This is ignored in battle and in casual situations, for obvious reasons.)
Gender roles: Men fight, hunt, and lead, women cook, clean, and do work around the home.
Family structure: Patriarchal family structure, with the father as leader of the household. Men may have only one wife, but can have as many concubines as they wish. Wives must be Marhusfrauja, but Concubines can be of any people. There is a great emphasis on family bonds, and family loyalty is paramount. Wives are held in high regard, while concubines receive no special social status. Adoption is frequent, especially of the children of a slain brother or friend.

History of your civ:

The Marhusfrauja have long lived on the Steppe, but were only united under King Ellac the Great. Ellac was a tribal chieftain, and the Marhusfrauja were divided, and quarreled among themselves. But the God Himnis spoke to Ellac and his brother Regin, and commanded him to unite the tribes, and told them of the Marhusfrauja's destiny to rule the world. Ellac and Regin then began a campaign to unify the Marhusfrauja. Some tribes joined willingly, others were bribed, and others had to be forced. But after thirty years of warfare, the Marhusfrauja were united. Ellac was made the first High King, and Regin the High Priest. The Marhusfrauja wreaked havok upon their neighbors, pillaging and enslaving all those who would not submit. Upon Ellac's death, he was succeeded by his son Jaramir, who led the Marhusfrauja, already legendary horsemen, to conquer several nearby tribes. However, after reigning for only fourteen years, Jaramir was killed in battle with rebels. He was then succeeded by his son, Euric, a charismatic man, who plans to continue his ancestors' legacy, and bring all the earth under the dominion of the Marhusfrauja. Euric has since tighted control over the clans, and has been preparing the Marhusfrauja for invasion.

Magic Users: None, although the Priests and Oracle claim to be able to see the future.

Language: Vellax
Nation on map: http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/685f/z ... 1gz4zg.jpg (Purple)
Capital: Carlon
Leader/s and title: Lexe Marosis Naphine ("Voted" Marosis Naphine)

Religion: Pephis Pantheon
Mythology: The Pantheon is an amalgamation of differing religious beliefs and doctrines. They are tiered depending on the age of the faith, relative power of the god and how closely linked it is to the primary trinity. However the primary understanding of the Pantheon's belief structure is that the gods govern existence from a land found high above the clouds. The Pentagon are so powerful that they cannot interact with the human kingdoms, instead creating lesser gods who can.
Afterlife description: For the Pantheon of the Fangs afterlife is the land of the gods. After death, the soul is weighed. If it is light enough due to the person having committed more good deeds than bad then the soul can live with the gods. If not, then it must stay on the mortal plane.
Primary Gods:
- Pephis: Pephis is a gender neutral god who was the first thing to be in existence. They did not simply create the universe, they were the universe. Everything that could be seen, and everything that could not be seen, was Pephis. In depiction, Pephis is illustrated as being the circle on the edge of a painting. They have no interaction with mortals.
- Oromo: Goddess of the Above. She is depicted as long-limbed, her black hair coming down to her knees. Her domain is Azure and realm of the gods. She has no interaction with mortals.
- - Hala: God of Aether. He is depicted as a slender man wrapped in a blanket of clouds. His domain is the air. He is linked with the weather.
- - Sut: Goddess of Empyrean. She is depicted as a broad woman with red hair or as the sun. Her domain is the high skies. She is linked with light.
- Nyki: God of the Seen. He is depicted as a bulky man, short and with a short heard. His domain is Earth and the realm of mortals. He has no interaction with mortals.
- Pala: Goddess of the Below. She is depicted as the youngest of the high gods, blonde hair always kept in a tight braid. Her domain is the land beneath and realm of the beasts. She has no interaction with mortals.
- Asi: God of the Between. He is depicted as wearing a crown, with red hair. His domain is that which is between the sky, earth and the underworld, as well as the realm of the unseen. He has no interaction with mortals.
Demons: The spirits of those who were unable to enter Azure. They become vengeful after the death of their families and being unable to leave the mortal plane.
Religious leaders: The Baan are flock leaders, looking after a specific religious site and all of the civilians who worship there. The Lexe is considered the highest religious leader but that is more a ceremonial position. There are several other locally found religious figures, the most prominent being the Uit el Sacro (Assembler of Veneration) whose teachings have taken hold within the military.
Commandments:
- Honour the gods
- Live a good life
- Protect your family
- Serve your home

Holidays: There are no recognised annual holidays, local customs holding true in this respect. The only universally recognised holiday is the day after a octium's disbandment. To honour the gods no commercial trade is permitted, the Senators instead forced to pay for food and drink for the day's celebrations. Sometimes an individual hoping to gain public support will pay for it their self.
Customs: A coloured braid is a common courtship gift. Farmhands who are unable to work due to age or infirmity are encouraged to become assistants to religious figures. Those who falsify their military exploits (by wearing their hair in the military fashion or outright lying about serving) are ostracized by their community. This goes as far as direct relatives disowning them.
Gender roles: Women run the household, form friendships, marry freely, bear children. Men work, support their family, die for their home.
Family structure: direct relatives who you are obliged to support and protect (spouse, siblings, parents, children) -> related relatives who you are expected to support and protect (grand-parents, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins) -> distant relatives who you are generally accepted as supporting and protecting (great-grandparents, great-uncles, great-aunt, great-niece, great-nephew, second-cousins) -> kinsman are those who bear the family name but who you may not have even seen before (related in some respect)
Fashion: Light cloaks and loose-fitting tunics are the norm. Short boots for outdoors and slippers for within a building. Long hair among men and women, with beards kept quite long, although mustaches are generally shaved off. Hair dye is widespread among those with money. For military men, short, oiled hair and clean-shaven faces are enforced. This style is maintained even after returning to civilian life.
How and or when does one reach adulthood?: Sixteen is generally accepted as the age when one can begin to make their own decisions, though eighteen is when they truly become independent adults. For nobles however, even twenty year-olds are expected to remain submissive to their parents.
Marriage: Nominally arranged, however both participants must agree to it without coercion
Music: They like their violins, flutes, drums. Also enjoyed are harps.
Valued Virtue: Diligence

Geography: Rolling fields (majority), with forested valleys (south-eastern) and a minor range of mountains (south-west)
Agriculture, fishing, hunting: Agriculture
- How bountiful your harvests are and what crops you mostly grow: Generally favourable - wheat and barely, goats and pigs
Exchange system: coins

Population: Recent consensus puts it around one million
Society: Agricultural settlers
Slavery: Yes, with a 2:1:9 split between slaves, indentured servants and freedmen
Describe the appearance of your average male and female citizen:

Military: ~60,000 professionals
- Ocyria: Military unit 4,200 strong. There are a total of twelve permanent Ocyria within the military. It is comprised of eight Octium. Commanded by a Hathan
- - Octium: Subdivision 521 strong. This is a semi-independent fighting unit, comprised of eight Occin. Commanded by a Hoplatus
- - - Occin: Unit 65 strong. This is the smallest permanent fighting unit. Commanded by a Daero
- - - - Yarocissin: Squad 8 strong. This is the base formation of the military unit. Commanded by a Phoxon.
Those soldiers within the Ocyria are collectively called Capanii, leading to the distinction of Capanii Ocyria. They are expected to provide a deposit for the equipment they receive from the senate, with the size of deposit dictating what armament they receive. Generally speaking, there is a 1/2/1/2 division between skirmishers, heavy spearmen, skirmisher cavalry, lancer cavalry.
There are also professional soldiers who do not join the Ocyria for various reasons. Instead, they join the Pelites Ocyria. The Pelites Ocyria function as the maritime and patrol element of the military, garrisoning settlements and forts deep within friendly territory and manning the war galleys which ward off pirates from the shipping lanes. They are termed Milites collectively and tend to have a higher proportion of skirmishers and the inclusion of lighter infantry as it is deemed a less glorifying service than the Capanii Ocyria. Generally speaking, there is a 2/1/1/1/1 division between skirmishers, light infantry, heavy spearmen, skirmisher cavalry, lancer cavalry.
Political System: Cair Lyn Direct Democracy (Large landowning families send one representative to the Council Senate. They hold the authority over how much money is taken from the treasury. Possible laws are voted for in the Senate and then given to the magistrates, who either take it to the people or veto it)
Main mode of travel: Foot
Leadership: The Lexe. This title is held by the man who received the majority of votes. They keep it for five years before passing it on to their successor. They have authority over administration, legislature and the military, although are still answerable to the Senate.
Castes: menial slave, skilled slave, menial servant, skilled servant, house slave, house servant, free foreigner, free slave, free worker, free craftsman, free woman, merchant, small landowner, large landowner, appointed noble, hereditary noble, Grya
Societal Flaws: While class promotion is surprisingly attainable for most men, foreigners can never remove the stigma of not being born in the country.

History: For many centuries the land now known as Patagon was part of the larger grazing grounds for the nomadic Ya'an people, a multinational culture of tribes and clans who herded great packs of horses and bison. Warfare was generally sporadic, skirmishes between tribes amounting to nothing more fatal than a dozen deaths. This changed with the appearance of the Grya. This people settled around Lynn Folo within a matter of weeks, throwing up a web of interlocking settlements. Between them, they had divided the land. For the Ya'an this was a new phenomenon. They did not understand why someone would want to remain in the same place for more than a few weeks, tilling the land for a few seeds instead of following the beasts of flesh and leather.
Peace and commerce was the relationship between settled and nomadic for a few years. Yet ever year that the first tribes of the great migratory Ya'an made their way by Lynn Folo they discovered that another portion of the land had been cultivated, stone dykes and stakes marking the boundary. As each year passed, fewer and fewer made the movement by Lynn Folo as a result. Soon enough there was not enough free land to keep the Ya'an during their autumn journey in to Patagon, a situation which led to a confederation of the nomads to remove the Grya before they encroached anymore on the ancient grazing fields.
The Grya had thrived in their mountain holdfasts, excavating great settlements out of sight of the wandering onlooker. They had taken to the valley floor across Patagon, villages nestling against fast-flowing rivers and rainwater sustaining lakes. Civil war had come quickly to them, creating a martial tradition they kept alive more out of pride than any real love for war. This factor was key for their eventual victory over the nomads.
The Grya not only defeated the Ya'an confederacies which declared war, they also forced them to settle on Grya land. It was this forced vassalage which saw the beginning of the Senate. The Grya tribes and clans united together as a single people, naming Carlon as the foremost settlement of the new nation. It is here that the senate first met, wisemen who had harnessed the arcane to develop such advancements in architecture and metallurgy to raise the tribes from division to civilised unity within half a century.
At first Carlon had a ruling family, a pure bloodline of the Grya hero who accepted the first Ya'an chieftain as vassal. However they were killed during a great rebellion comprised almost entirely of foreign-born citizens. This rebellion, the Thousand Sunderings, was the catalyst for xenophobia within the nation. The royal family had been beloved and with their deaths the surviving leaders played to the public's anger by legalising chattel slavery and ensuring that those born outside of the Senate's authority were considered as little better than slaves.

Magic Users: The Grya, the founding tribe of Carlon. They possess arcane knowledge of metallurgy, as well as the ability to see in to the future. Now the term Grya relates to a specific community of metalsmiths and seers who reside within the highest mountain strongholds and among certain religious centers. Individually they are the most revered people within the nation although their actual authority is very limited.

What powers do your civs' leader/s posses; how do they gain power?: The King and Queen have absolute power, with individual island Nobility handling their own affairs. Should they act unjustly the King can elicit emergency control until a new leader of the nobility of the island is chosen

Distinct Caste ( classes) in your society?: The Nobility are clearly distinguished whereas the poor and working poor to middle class are often blurred, but not explicitly known

History of your civ: Patrída has always been an island nation, renowned for their naval power and high amounts of fishing trade. The people of Patrída are known for their kindness and willingness to trade openly to other nations and have always been this way. Their deep rooted belief in the goddess Tima has guided them to prosperity from their first to current King, they have worshipped the land and seas for what it has given them. In order to repay this they prefer to focus on sea faring development in an effort to preserve the land and natural wildlife beyond their own homes. In recent years, King Michaíl & Queen Narkísa, have brought about a golden age of progress among Patrída. The coinage of money has increased, fishing yields have increased, and the creation of the Temple of Tima has neared it's completion. Patrída has long dreamed of days as easy as this for things were not always this way. Under their former King Níkos, father of Queen Narkísa, war was abruptly brought to their shores on the East. This development of aggressive nomadic tribes showed their need for a stronger naval presence by all of the Island governors; to which Nikos did not obey whatsoever. In an attack that claimed the lives of 1,000 Patrídans, it was made clear that the aging King Nikos was stuck in his ways, citing that if Patrída developed farther militarily, it wouldn't be long before they betrayed the land in sights of war and defense. Whether he was right has yet to be seen as the Island Governors insisted that the king's emergency power be given to them in this time of war where he would not act. This temporary coup allowed the governors to defend respective parts of Patrída and showed the growing disloyalty to the crown.

Queen Narkísa soon would take over from her father who willingly stepped down three years before dying of old age. In her short time of ruling alone she enlisted policies that gave the crown emergency powers in case an Island Governor, often titled Noble, grew out of control. The Noble Island Governor would have near total control of the island and was elected by the people residing in the island but naturally were a part of the kingdom. In an odd move, the queen's next and final solo rule policy would be to remove women from any active service in military, except for the case of medical needs. Soon she would marry King Michaíl from s smaller eastern set of Islands, further expanding the control of the kingdom without truly being a part of the mainland. Together they revigorated the people, who once more felt comfortable with the ruling class. The King and Queen began to enlist the coinage of money as a means of trade within the kingdom in order to eliminate bartering, modernizing their kingdom. One thing they have never been able to escape from was the King's age in comparison to the Queen who was nearly 20 years younger than he. Despite this their first challenge of war has yet to come to the Island kingdom, but their greatest project began nearly a decade ago in erecting the temple of the goddess Tima for all to worship. Now nearing it's completion, King Michaíl has begun his own project with the military forces. Shoveling money and resources to naval production has nearly double the size of their armed forces since the death of King Nikos.

Out of the Darkness came Arzl Maris, the Serpent, who defiled the water, and spreads evil. Ever Dies Maris hunts hims, and ever Arzl Maris alludes and escapes, until the day when Dies Maris gathers all just gods and men in the Land beyond the Sea, and he will lead them, and they will slay the Serpent and its followers, the wicked men it has devoured.

Once a year at the Feast of Alto Maris, the head of a family (usually it's oldest male member) presents his homage to the High King. Animal sacrifices are burnt and thrown into the sea. At this feast also the Calendars (records of past years and a table of date of future years) are chanted. It is customary to greet by touching one's hand to one's forehead, to greet a Tracian, one bows. If dishonored, it is customary to sacrifice oneself to the Sea by throwing oneself off a cliff.

Number of people living in your civ: 1,000,000

History of your civ ( be as detailed as possible. The more you write the better!):
For centuries Maro was composed of Seven distinct coast dwelling city-states, each led by a Prophet, easily overrun by invaders from the Northwest. At the height of the greatest of these invasions, a small fleet arrived from the Western Sea (possibly exiles from Patrída) at the city of Marito, with a contingent of marvelously armed soldiers, lead by a man named Regis, who had brought with him a golden crown set with a single sapphire jewel. Driving the foreign hordes from the city's walls, he was proclaimed King by the Prophet of the city, as he was at each city he proceeded to liberate. His descendants expanded his conquests, ruling all of the islands save Patrída, and according to legend, much of the North and West. but slowly these lands broke away or were lost to tribal invasions. It is still believe in Maro that to the Golden Crown rightfully belongs dominion of the World, and that all kings and lords will someday pay homage to it, but if this is true, there is little to prove it so. For the past 500 years the power of the Crown has not extended beyond the traditional borders of the Maro homeland, and it takes the majority of the Kingdom's resources to maintain those borders. However, for the past hundred years, there have been predictions by Six of the Seven Prophets proclaimed that a King shall arise who shall begin by the conquest of the islands, and whose descendants shall rule the earth, and Tomis IX Regis has been preparing his army in the hope that his son and successor Tirios will be that prophesied King.

( only if you want magic users) Magic Users ( What are they called, how many of them are there? What are their powers? Give a general description of them): The Seven Prophets, high priests anointed to perform the Royal sacrifices, have the ability to receive premonitions of future, the High King is said to be able to control the sea and weather in the important harbors of the Kingdom.

Civilization name ( in native language): La Serenissima Repubblica di Porto Santi ( The Most Serene Republic of the Harbor Saints)
Language name: Aurian (pretty much Italian with a different name.)
Nation on map ( Make it relatively small. Make it a different color than other player colors): The Pastel Green
Capital ( if any): Orapont
Leader/s and title: The country is lead by a council of 4 "Harbor Saints", 1 for each Reparto (Region). Henrico Octavian for the Orapont Reparto, Teodoro Valensia for the Centallo Reparto, Marian Cicero for the Marianopoli Reparto and Perla Turpilani for the Monte Mis Reparto.

Religion ( if any) name: Bulism
General rundown of mythology ( must be at least 1 paragraph): Bulism is very similar to the American and the Porto Santi political structure, with 3 "Buleuteriums", The Harbor Saint Buleuterium, which consists of deceased Harbor Saints, whom are often granted god status after they have passed. the Middle Buleuterium, with 50 gods who most of are not named, and the Royal Buleuterium, with 12 gods, whom control the way of life and the elements, and they created the world.
Afterlife ( if any) description: After they die, they go to the Cieloro, and are sorted into districts. If you are good and follow the rules of Bulism you go to the Fausto districts and if you are bad and do not follow the rules of Bulism you go to the Misero districts. It is said there are as many districts as there are skies. The better/worse you are, the better/worse the district you are put in.
god/s?:
Hester // Goddess of the Cieloro/Sky
Horatius // God of Literature
Nerida // Goddess of the Sea
Florentius // God of Land and Nature
Grania // Goddess of the Crop
Hermes // God of Health
Adorabella // Goddess of Beauty
Carmin // God of Music
Constantia // Goddess of War
Karol // God of the Mankind
Leandra // Goddess of the Animals
Phanes // God of Art
Demons/Devils?: N/A
Religious Human leaders?: The Harbor Saints themselves.
Commandments ( things that this religion demands of it's followers?):
1. Treat others with respect, regardless of status
2. Respect the nature and ocean
3. Respect others of different religions
4. Do not take what is not yours
5. Do not lie
6. Do not harm, hurt or kill any living creature, human or not. This does not apply when defending yourself

Holidays ( what are they called, what are they about, when): Terrella (Earth Day), This is when it's estimated the earth was created and is celebrated for 2 weeks with festivals, it is in the beginning of spring, when flowers, trees and crops start to blossom. Atroxilla (Terrible Day), this is a remembrance day because of the Great Earthquakes, which had killed ~40% of the population, but it's still celebrated because of the recovery from it, and that Porto Santi did not fall in ruins. It's celebrated in early October.
Customs:
Gender roles; There really are no gender roles. Both women and men work, and when there is a child in a family they decide which one stays home and who works, and as soon as the child is 12, they can start working, or pursue higher education in the capital.
Family structure: Marriage is very common, and almost all people over the age of 15 are married, and no discrimination towards same-sex couples. Same-sex couples aren't uncommon, but they aren't really common either. The normal family is 2 parents, and most families have from 2 to 15 kids. In the case of same-sex couples however, there is a thing called "Presbino", where same-sex couples take in orphans, which often isn't a choice (The state makes them take in orphans), which is why same-sex couples have more kids then opposite-sex.
Fashion: Similar to Roman.
How and or when does one reach adulthood?: When you reach 12, you get to decide if you want to work or pursue higher education in the capital, although only wealthier families could afford sending their child to the Capital.
Marriage ( is it voluntary or arranged?): It's often voluntary, but the more "noble" families had arranged marriages to maintain power.
Music ( give some favored instruments, a song if you want!): Very similar to this.
Most important virtue in life ( Ex: Pious, honorable, knowledgeable, devout, ect.): Equality

Terrain/s present in nation ( where?): Flat and many forests.
Agriculture, fishing, hunting; which is the most prominent source of food in your civ?: Agriculture, as harming animals is against Bulism.
(Only agriculture) tell how bountiful your harvests are and what crops you mostly grow: Basically, where there are no forests there are farms. Grain, potatoes, tomatoes, and most crops that can be harvested in a Mediterranean climate.
(Exchange system) how are items bought and sold in your civ ( Ex: money, bargains, credit etc.): They have currency, copper coins, there are 1,5,10,50 and 100 coins. It has no name.

Number of people living in your civ: ca. 450 000
Nomadic or stationary: Stationary
Does slavery exist ( if so, how many slaves are there? How many freeman are there?): No.
Describe ( or provide a picture) the appearance of your average male and female citizen: Just how an average Italian looks, tanned, well-built and average height.
How many soldiers do you have ( no more than 16th of your population, the more troops you have, the harder it will be on your nations welfare when they are deployed): 9000 (ca. 2% of the population)
Political System ( how is your civ ruled): The council kind of works as a parliament, they make the law, and they are elected.
Main mode of travel: By foot, on horse, and horse carriages (for the rich)
What powers do your civs' leader/s posses; how do they gain power?: They're very charismatic, smart and sharp. They make the laws and act as the first-in-command of the army, and also have power over trade going in and out of the country.
Distinct Caste ( classes) in your society?: Harbor Saints: The rulers of the country; Lesser Saints: In each Reparto there are advisors of the Harbor Saints, these are Scholars, Noblemen, former High-Ranking generals and Landowners. There are 10 in each Reparto. Respected Classes: Scholars, Ship Captains, Teachers and Farmers.
( Optional) flaws inherent in your society ( For example, infighting or class tensions): N/A

History of your civ ( be as detailed as possible. The more you write the better!):
Settlement in the area began when merchants from the south were looking for a place to establish a trading port. After exploring the seas they settled on the island now known as Dorisla, and established the trading port known as Orapont in the center of the island. Orapont means Golden bridge, because the area that it is in looks like a bridge connecting two larger islands and they hoped that it would bring them a lot of gold.

After a few years many of the original settler had left Orapont as they had become broke and only 4 of the merchants had remained; Alvaro Siciliani, Silvano Mancini, Roberto Cicero and Dionisio Pisani. They declared themselves leaders of the island with less then a 100 inhabitants. The 4 of them decided to spread around the island and establish 3 other ports, whilst one would stay in Orapont. Siciliani stayed in Orapont and their plan of spreading out worked, as sailors and merchants from the Soleil Levant, Patrido and Maro started stopping in Dorisla to buy and sell items. The 4 merchants were getting richer and richer, but they didn't know how to split the money, so they decided to split the island into 4 parts, which where individually called Reparto.

Many decades later, all of the leaders had died and they had no descendants. That was a problem and the inhabitants had no idea how they would solve this, as they had no other ruling officials, and the previous leaders had not named anyone as the next leader of their Reparto. After many months of anarchism they population decided in unison who the next 4 leaders should be via an election. Every citizen could nominate whomever they wanted to be the leader of the country. //still working on this, had to go, whoops dont know where to save it.

He dies honorably in battle and that earned him his deity powers as the God of Honor, his wife later died of a barbarian attack. A large group of barbarians attacked, raped, and killed his wife and her farm which caused the wrath of Devion to be unleashed because, of this Devions name and his family's story is known across the land of Devijak and possibly in other unknown lands. His wife when killed lives on to receive deity powers and become the God of Plentiful Harvests after having held the family farm togehter for so many years on her own with such nice harvests.
Afterlife ( if any) description: It is a peaceful after life is you have been honest in your lifetime and honorable on the battlefield.

Music: Our people like to play on drum-like containers and string-like boards.
Most important virtue in life : The most important virtue in life is honorability and plentiful harvests.

Terrains present in nation: We have plentiful rivers and lots of farmland.
Agriculture, fishing, hunting; which is the most prominent source of food in your civ?: My civilization relies on agriculture as any civilized nation should.
Tell how bountiful your harvests are and what crops you mostly grow: We have very bountiful harvest only having suffered a crippling drought a few hundred years back. The kingdom relies on grain(wheat), lettuce, cabbage, potatoes, etc.

History of your civilization: Prador started out as a small little tribe known as the Pra'doric. They were founded and lead by one of the first intelligent men of the world, Gavienus. He led his tribe into a peaceful and stationary life expanding outwards gaining more and more lands until he died. His whole life was spent expanding his tribes land until they had enough to become a kingdom. Several king's after him all spent their lives expanding the kingdom's prosperity and harvest. Until the 17 king came along. He was a man of honesty and honorability until he lost his family and became a bitter old man. He waged war and forgot his faith and caused turmoil across the land. A drought hit and the Kingdom of Prador severely suffered. People got little harvests and many wars were lost until Prador became a much reduced kingdom. The 21st king, King Huidemar has spent his lifetime as the other two kings after the 18th rebuilding the kingdom's prosperity. Now the kingdom is stable enough and prosper enough King Hudeimar considers going to war for more land.

When you make your app, your app will decide for the entirety of IC what that region of the map looks like. I made my nation borderline Taiga, so now much of the north in my area of the map is also borderline taiga. So far, down south with the orange and yellow countries is pretty close to what you want.
