B. Ain't a fan of loosing characters, even if we do have a shit ton.

And we can still have a story plus sidequests.

Attempted to shoehorn in a distraction, Torsi. I would suggest that one of the characters in your tent wish for /really/ sharp hearing.
Out of the changes, Cer- option B sounds best.

All - apologies for short post etc, parent off work.

Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Unless one is a genealogist, therapist, geneticist, or FBI agent - who is acting within the scope of their job - to claim that anyone is wrong about their own identity is not merely absurd but also extremely rude.

My kneejerk inclination is either B or D. Ultimately I'd be fine with either.

I'm torn between the possibilities of A & B.

Ultimately, B is a solid option -nodnod-

Looks like many are for B. It's loosely outlined on the prior page but we'll flesh out things to work for all. Establish a hospital in the village, for one. Establish a working relationship with dwarves as another. Pitch ideas here and let's see what we can worldbuild in a pinch.

I think option B is probably gonna be the best for us right now. Things have kinda been cluttered with chars that sat around and do nothing, taking up the time of those that actually do something and stall them and furthermore us too as the players. Initiative and even some ambition are crucial in making things we want to happen actually happen, without it a RP will remain stagnant, and a stagnant RP is either one that is dead, or one that is completely devoid of the characteristics that made people want to join and play in the first place.

So please, do make option B be a thing. As I see no practical alternative right now.

As for the reboot? (in categorical order)
-I personally wanted to still see some sorta played-out resolution to the Varg and Fiend plots, perhaps not as big as a final confrontation, but I just wanted the build-up for them to be worthwhile to how they were made out to be in the first place.
-I'm okay with a lengthy timeskip, as it will simply take too long for everyone to play out getting to know one another's chars. But for location and zone information that our chars would learn in the meantime, I would obviously like to see some of that information posted something for us the players to see. I imagine a description will suffice.
-So anywhere is a no-go unless it's for supplies and more information? So not really part of a written, dynamic world, but rather a boring hub where none of your actions would greatly affect it, no matter what? I'm not sure if that's what you meant exactly, Cer, but I'll be honest, I don't prefer any limitations of what we can do in general. Not to of course say it'll be a good idea to do anything rash in those zones anyway, but it would still be nice to have the freedom to make mistakes and poor decisions. :P

Also with your mention of gates...
-Hell yeah I like this concept! At least in the sense that chars can get to do cool stuff, in far-away places, all the damn time! Though I am worry about what would happen when we do this involving new-players. As we'll be reliant on them for that part, which could be... Well, y'know.

I guess it could be trial by fire then.
-Posting minimums? I was already good for the idea, so I would say I'm good again for it.
-Anything else? Umm, well I guess there could be more, just that I can't think of any right now. :P

Anyways, those are my thoughts.

"Don't fuck up the setting" applies. Players can use the gates to mess up other places (unwise but allowed -- this is NOT a license to post gorn/devastation). Galli's zones need to carry a neutral ground feel. No cultists pouring cocaine into water supplies. No hunter characters killing goblins or vampires. No Luxans or Sith mangling citizens.

Players may alter the setting provided it doesn't fundamentally change what's established. Don't kill the vibe. Every action will have a reaction; negative impact will gain negative attention. Consider the setting (and how your character will be treated) should a player opt to behave like a selfish shit.

Ched pretty much said anything I could have. I would like Varg to still have a conclusion because we gut quests way too often and we've already put a lot into it.

In favor of Plan B.

In regards to the minimum posting frequency requirement, I think 2-4 days should be reasonable for it. Before you guys assume I'm going to show up long enough for Demens to go ballistic on me, I may not post regularly for the next two weeks due to working on my layout for the college yearbook.

Also welcome back, Cer!

I'm down for option B as well. It feels like it'd be best for everyone.

And I really do must apologize to Torsii, and everyone that I've made wait for my posts as of recently. I thought/said I'd have more time over Spring Break to post, but considering that I ended up hanging out with friends for most of it, I realized I didn't have as much time as I thought.

But now I'm headed back to school, so I'll have a lot more time to post in the evenings, now that friends won't be calling on me all the time now.

I also vote for B but I would like to finish up Varg quest official.

I totally understand if we can't do that however due to time and what not.

A suggestion that just popped into my head is a sort of Quest Board a document or page anyone can edit that lists all the different events, who's in them, how to join, what the events are, the post schedule and other important details. That might help make the divisions extra clear and keep things moving smoothly. (a quick example I whipped up.)

The cool thing I'd say about the going to retrieve characters rather than them just popping in, it gives characters of all power levels things to do. Like obviously we won't need powerful ones to run to a safer world, or one that lacks similar powers. For example most of our mundane group could do fine in a fallout setting, and since they could focus on retrieval from mundane worlds the more powerful peeps could go to things of a similar level of power too.

Of course overlap is possible too. Just a thought i had.

World building ideas.
  • Not jumping the tech hurdle but perhaps getting some work done towards it. Like cell phones that work close to the building or a single computer that can get internet. Perhaps even from another realm? I don't know whatever you think is appropriate for the time skip.
  • A better understanding of the surrounding land, better maps, knowledge of neighbors.
  • Gates. I am all about this this as are my characters. It opens up so many avenues of possibilities so maybe having one nearby would be useful. I would like to have some special way for my characters to interact with it given their background but if that's not feasible i understand.

The idea of a neutral zone in Galli with other areas that can be partied in is great. In general I think you made a great move with Varg. We need to dial back the threat level and deescalate the conflicts. We dont need some universe shattering thing to give us a challenge a dragon works fine too.

So if we're going with B, does that mean we shouldn't reply to Varg anymore as it is?

I'll have things sorted by this evening. Nobody has to reply to Serendipity but they can wrap up other things.

@Bran. Rache would have stressed the importance of not revealing much in order to preserve the timeline. It's important that the Chancellor remain unaware in order for her subordinate to step up with the solution.

@Gio. Let me hammer out the wonky-skip and then I'll read through HWE again to form a reply. To clarify, Hurricane is still MIA, and we don't know where Chris and Brit are?

A reminder for everyone:

You don't need a CoOP to corral MIA players. Haven't seen someone post in a while and you're frozen? Do them some kindness and reach out to them. Send a TG, track them down on Steam, poke them in the IRC channels. Warn them that a CoOP or I have asked for events to move, or to wrap up.

TNEL has posted regularly in Wallaby. He's kept GT and NA frozen in PL. He's dropped.

Honestly, I felt like I wasn't contributing. Between personal life and school it's been much easier to slap out a few Wallaby posts once in a while instead of being here, and I had assumed people moved on without me (since I was never contacted beforehand.) Assuming I'm given yet another chance, I'll get back to this in a few weeks and attempt to keep up again.

Personal apologies to Germanic Templars and Aksarben for bogging you guys down. I understand if you guys don't want to deal with me again, but college has been eviscerating me thanks to mid-terms and the death of my laptop has basically halved my ability to post at all, let alone in PL.

Could I be given one more shot to unscrew this up?
