Oh, no, not that bad, more like c. 5-10 meters for a pistol of that size, with less effect as it goes farther, your current usage should be just within the limit, you are just not going to snipe anyone with them.

EDIT: Actually, just re-reading your weapons bit, switch that to more 4-5, given that the range tends to decrease with the weapon's range. Still works as a ranged weapon, for certain.

Over the next few days, the two grew close and realized that Saxon was force sensitive. The man's name was Silveo Rishak a Knight of the order at the time. Once Saxon was well enough, he was shipped to the jedi to start his training. At the age of 15, he had received word that Rishak had been killed in a sith ambush on Alderaan. This was the second loss he had to the sith and though he was taught to not give in to hatred, he found himself to be containing it. While most jedi thought this was a bad thing, over the years he has used this hatred to put it behind his attacks. While he does not believe strongly in all the Jedi tenants, he does believe for what they stand for. At the age of 18 he was given the rank of Knight and could now join the fight against the sith. But he choose to remain on coruscant to deal with the lower city and attempt to make life better. Though he as been in the battles that cover Alderaan several times.

RP Sample: Saxon heard footsteps behind him, and they were coming up fast. He quickly turned around to find out that it was just a rat scurrying across the floor, the Temple had a whole new feel for it now. It was as if darkness had seeped into the temple or what was left of it, he came up to the area where his quarters used to be and moved some rubble, he had obtained some armor and he had to run to get out of the massacre at the temple. After some time of moving rubble he finally managed to slip into his old room, the place was an utter mess and he would be surprised if anything had survived this let alone any other jedi. He walked over to a container and couldn't open it, after examining the container he realized the opening mechanism had been damaged. He used the force to pry open the box and saw that his armor was still intact, he quickly donned his armor. Well at least I look kind of like a sith in this armor now. Though I doubt the sith troopers would be fooled into thinking I was a sith. After all this is jedi armor and not sith. After a few moments of thinking to himself he heard voices coming down the hall. "Spread out! We have orders to clear this place again, if you see a jedi shoot!" Barked a trooper as they passed Saxon and he gave a sigh of relief then left his room. He turned on both is light sabers and the sound alerted the troopers, they turned around and started to fire at Saxon. Saxon quickly cut one of them down and turned to the next as he felt a pain in his right shoulder. He looked over to see that he had been hit by a blaster, he had been so careless charging into the fray that he had let his guard down. He quickly distpached the others and quickly fled, the sith had called for back up just before he got to the last trooper and now troopers would be searching this place high and low for him. He needed to get off the planet and fast or this planet would become his grave.

Also the Republic and Sith forces are fighting together against the Black Hand's forces, so all you managed to do is make to enemies allies against said third party.

Plus you just committed one of the biggest rules of warfare, which neutral ground (Alaraan on those case) is to never be attacked while negotiations are on going.

We originally attacked cause the sith massacre the Jedi and still are but there having a conference with the republics which will likely end with all their deaths.

Well I was forced to abandon my ground forces and only escape with half my remaining fleet
