Is it just me, or is the Proposals page (with seventeen proposals running, Jesus Christ) unusually full of absolute garbage?

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#359

Proposed by: Pardenivs

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #359: Sexual Health and Education Act (Category: Education and Creativity; Area of Effect: Educational) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Identidade de gênero deve-se ser excluída, a mesma não é algo provado, muito pelo contrário, isto é apenas um delírio, ou seja, isto seria desinformação para as crianças.

Approvals: 1 (Vancouvia)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 108 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 3 hours

Not even in English.

Repeal "Sexual Health and Education Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#359

Proposed by: Rektslovakia

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #359: Sexual Health and Education Act (Category: Education and Creativity; Area of Effect: Educational) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: 1) The ages where students start studying sexual education is too young. Children at these ages are easily impressionable and may lead to fear of sexual contact. (Clause 1)

2) Private Schools shouldn't get to choose to follow a different curriculum. The government should be the only organisation that is. (Clause 4)

3) Physical Education, which sexual education is part of, is designed to also help out students if something bad happens. If they catch a STI, they are unable to tell, as they haven't learned what they look like, which is caused by clause 3.

4) A student shouldn't have different education because of different religions, and they shouldn't also be able to refuse to watch information regarding to sexual education. Without learning about these diseases, they are unable to help prevent them in the future.

Approvals: 2 (Normlpeople, Gotthard)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 107 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 3 hours

No repeals clause.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: socialist_republics_of_kasar_1458213380

The Shawshank Act

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: Socialist Republics of Kasar

Description: NOTING that the vast majority of nations still employ traditional prison systems instead of progressive rehabilitation centers;

CONCERNED that the conditions in many of these prisons can be appalling;

AKNOWLEDGING that numerous studies have shown that rehabilitation centers are far more effective than prisons in keeping ex-criminals out of jail;

REAFFIRMING the right of nations to choose for themselves their own criminal justice systems;

HEREBY propose The Shawshank Act, a resolution to encourage progressive rehabilitation centers instead of prisons, to establish cooperation between WA nations on the subject of criminal justice, and to establish progressive rehabilitation centers as the official policy of the WA, without infringing on the rights of individual nations to create their own criminal justice systems.

Approvals: 1 (Relasis)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 108 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 3 hours

Wrong strength. I'm pretty sure eliminating prisons and using rehabilitation is not mild. Possibly not human rights, too.
Imperializt Russia wrote:Is it just me, or is the Proposals page (with seventeen proposals running, Jesus Christ) unusually full of absolute garbage?

No, it's just unusually full. Oh look, more illegal proposals.

Repeal "Sexual Health and Education Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#359

Proposed by: Civilisunio

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #359: Sexual Health and Education Act (Category: Education and Creativity; Area of Effect: Educational) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The argument for sexual education standards hasn't reeally been addressed untill the sexual heath and education act was written and put into place.

I agree on some factor of the act but most of it is wrong. Even though he said that parents can exclude their children from thw course it's bot taking into consideration of the childrens rights.

You might not care if you run a communist government but it should be up to the government and the people of the country to decide. Wether or not they want to allow such education or at least regulate the education rhe the standards of the people/government.

Approvals: 1 (Vancouvia)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 108 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 2 hours

Blog, no repeals clause, NatSov argument.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: trump_is_boss_1458222844

Removal of Gun Control Laws

A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.

Category: Gun Control

Decision: Relax

Proposed by: Trump Is Boss

Description: Gun control laws are tyrannical and should be banned. Here are the reasons why

1. In most nations there are more law-abiding citizens than criminals.
2. Women who have guns will be able to defend themselves against rapers better than ones that don't.
3. If a criminal starts shooting at a mall, instead of waiting for a security officer or policeman, a law-abiding citizen can easily take out the criminal before any major damage is done.
Here is what this proposal(and if it becomes a resolution) will do:

1. It will be legal for every citizen over 18 without a criminal to get a concealed carry permit and be legal to open carry wherever they please.
2. All existing gun control laws will be nullified.
3. Any taxes that increase the price of guns and ammunition will be reset to regular sales tax.
4. Schools will be safer because the will no longer be gun free zones, instead all teachers must be trained in proper gun safety and be ready to defend their students if the need arises.
This proposal will reduce shooting casualties in all WA nations because all guns and ammunition will be legalized and it will be legal to open and concealed carry everywhere. Because of that, it is more likely that a criminal will be stopped before doing too much damage.

With all of the information provided, for the good of all WA nations, please vote for this proposal.

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 109 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 1 hour

No operative clause, bloviating.

Nuclear Peace Act 2016

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Alnama

Description: All nuclear weapons should only be tested in certain key areas in a bid to get close to a world with no violence.

This Act includes:

All nuclear tests above ground should be done at least 120 miles from the nearest border and nuclear tests underground should be done at least 60 miles away from the nearest border.

If a country has no location more than 60 miles away from its nearest border that nation shall not commit any nuclear tests in its borders.

This act is to stop noise and after effects from effecting neighbor nations and to stop conflict between nations.

Approvals: 2 (Tannenbergia, Burntwood Lions Club)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 106 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 7 hours

Arbitrary numbers, category fail.

More like a strength fail than a category fail. The way I read it, militaries may have to spend some money to move testing sites, but only those near its borders. Looks like IS/Mild to me.

Repeal "Sexual Health and Education Act"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#359

Proposed by: Civilisunio

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #359: Sexual Health and Education Act (Category: Education and Creativity; Area of Effect: Educational) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The Sexual Heath And Education act is a violation of the rights of the people of the country. Even though it states that Parents can take their children out of the program it does not take into consideration the governments position or even the childs position. The child may not want to learn about that "Disgusting" lesson making it infringe the rights. I understand that some nations are communist or some type of government that does not have many rights to give their citizens or children. So that brings into consideration that maybe the government has something planned and this resolution could intervene with how the government wants their nation to stand like/be like

Quasi-NatSov, bloggish, no repeals clause.

Repeal "Nuclear Waste Safety Act"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal
Resolution: GA#116
Proposed by: Eutristan

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #116: Nuclear Waste Safety Act (Category: International Security; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Applauding the Nuclear Waste Safety Act for regulating the export and import of highly sensitive nuclear wastes.

Recognizing that the Nuclear Waste Safety Act does not completely cover all problems occurring in the transfers of these highly sensitive materials.

Defining these highly sensitive nuclear wastes as any material left behind directly in corralation with the nuclear object itself that is harmful to the environment or organisms surrounding.

This Act Hereby declares that the following regulations must be instated to further regulate the safety, integrity, and manner of the deals and build upon the great successes of the Nuclear Waste Safety Policies in order to further protect the people and environment with nuclear waste within a close proximity:

The countries exporting the highly sensitive wastes cannot advertise compensation amounts to potential receiving countries.

Only receiving countries may request to receive the nuclear waste.

Sender countries cannot advertise the sale of the waste.

Compensation amounts cannot be any lower than what is deemed reasonable to the quantity being traded

The money figure of the compensation amount will only be provided to the receiving country after they are aware of the effects of the highly sensitive wastes.

The facilities created must meet a standard of quality, and serve their purpose efficiently and correctly.

The country can participate in only three trades.

No facility can be within a close vicinity of a populated area.

One facility can only hold a surplus of waste if it can meet the standards for each pound of waste that will be outlined in the new resolution.

In No Way do the above regulations replace or amend the regulations in the Nuclear Waste Safety Act. The following terms stated in the Nuclear Waste Safety Act will still be regulated and enforced:

Both the sender and recipient nations are responsible for the highly sensitive nuclear wastes.

If the recipient nation cannot keep the nuclear waste from being stored safely and out of the wrong hands, no deal shall be met between sending and recipient nations.

Sender nations are responsible for providing monetary compensation for technology or the technology itself that will aid in the creation of the nuclear waste storage facilities.

Recipient nations cannot jeopardize the national security of a nation by requesting any intelligence or technology deemed unnecessary.

Nuclear waste cannot be within a close vicinity of water sources or any body of water with living organisms, areas with seismic activity, wildlife reserves, and most importantly, international borders.

Hence the Nuclear Waste Safety Act will struck null and void.

Approvals: 2 (The Union of Mandalorian Erebor, Eldrahar)
Status: Lacking Support (requires 107 more approvals)
Voting Ends: in 3 days 9 hours

Illegal for legislating in a repeal.

PARA Trade Pact

A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: United Kanter

Description: Description: To implement a trade system where all WA Nations trade with one another.

WHAT is it that we want to accomplish? WE want trade throughout all nations in the WA. WHAT to trade though? Anything you have to offer.;

BELIEVING that this will strengthen the alliances of nations and create no alliances.;

FURTHER NOTING that there will be NO terrifs. The state will have to pay for all shipping and flying.;

FURTHER BELIEVING this will let the citizens of other nations explore new worlds. Travel abroad whilst trading. ALSO trade with Natives, as long as they follow the rules set by the state.;

HEREBY

1. ESTABLISHES the Para Trade Pact, a pact all nations must follow;

2. PACT RULES are that no arms and/or ammunition may be traded. No live stock will be traded. No nuclear powers of any sorts will be traded. No people may be traded.;

3. DECLARES all nations unite and form a better world for all to live in.;

4. INVITES members of the World Assembly to vote yes for the pact.

Not sure what PARA stands for, but this seems a bit out there. Bloggy, committee only, simplistic to the point of cringe worthiness.

Meh.
Hack and Fris used to grumble about a time when they'd had twenty pages of proposals to wade through...

I'm used to seeing like nine in the proposals tab as "unusually high activity".

The Monopoly Tax Act

A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: TheGemini

Description: NOTING that many developed nations have monopolies that has been gained through forceful means.

FURTHER NOTING that a strong economy is fundamental to national prosperity.

APPALLED that these national, or transnational, monopoly corporations gained their monopoly through forceful means.

THE WA THEREFORE:

A) Creates a flat tax of 5% on Monopolies in Developed nations.

B) Mandates that all WA member nations reinvest the tax money as they please.

C) States the guidelines of the Monopoly Tax as such:
1. There shall be a flat tax rate of 5% starting with economies that have an annual revenue of 5 trillion in their respective currency.

2. Only Corporations can be considered apart of a monopoly.

3.A Corporation is defined financially as brining in a revenue of at least 2 million a year in its respective currency.

4. Where there are any grey area's in this resolution; then the member nations laws shall govern.

Pretty sure wrong category, mandating domestic tax policy, god-awful definitions, numbers pulled straight outta fantasy. All in all, pretty bad.

Military restrictons
A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.

Category: Political Stability
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: Metsellia

Description: This act helps military rights for nations that want to save money and grow strong.This act makes sure Nations do not go crazy and stay peaceful. Military funding can be supported by:

ALLOWING other nations to support by donating or giving a loan.

They can do that already, anyhows, without needing WA approval.

FORCING the money to be spent for only military.

SUPPORTS taxes to be raised ONLY if it is in military crisis.

If that means "forbids tax raises EXCEPT in military crises" then it's illegal for Contradiction.

KNOWING that the military can turn evil, it is up to the people of the country or the other nation if that nation can use the money for what they want to do with the military.

GIVING delegates and regions to decide if the nation is in military crisis or not.

Meta-gaming.

Year of Mellow

A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity

Area of Effect: Educational

Proposed by: Troopland

Description: School is a place for work, knowledge and play. Lately, I have been seeing more work and less play in schools.
Children are becoming overworked and tired, leading them to have a lack of motivation towards school. A lack of motivation will amount to very little.

i propose an extra year be added to schools, the Mellow Year.
The year wont be like any other-
instead of work, work, work, the children could attend talks, fundraise,
attend work experience, etc.
in general the year is more hands on and less writing.

the year would be completely optional as some children may like work or feel they do not need the Mellow Year. It would take place

this will mean a little more money to the Education Budget but as it is commenly said,
Children Are The Future

Education Quota Act

A resolution to promote funding and the development of education and the arts.

Category: Education and Creativity

Area of Effect: Educational

Proposed by: Shearvrout

Description: Description: An attempt to raise education standards throughout the world.
Recognizing the lack of education apparent across many nations, and can affect people from achieving what they are capable of;

Concerned that youths may not be able to accomplish the service of the economy because they lack a proper education;

Creating an education quota that controls the percent of youth that graduates from primary schools, junior high schools, and colleges and universities compared to the rest of the youth population;

The General Assembly declares the following aspects:

Requiring that all nations The Education Quota Act applies to adhere to the following:
1) Requiring that certain ages must meet a certain percent of youth graduation.

a. Requiring that 35% of children between the ages of 11 and 13 graduate from primary school.

b. Requiring that 40% of children from the ages of 14-16 graduate junior high school.

c. Requiring that 48% of young adults from the ages of 17-19 graduate high school.

d. Requiring that 50% of all youths from the ages of 21-23 graduate from a college or university.

2) Recognizing that small nations will be able to afford the Education Quota Act because of a small population equivalent to their size.

3) The Education Quota Act applies to nations that are above the 30% economy cutoff. Once a nation rises above the cutoff, The Education Quota act applies to them, and as soon as it falls below the cutoff, the Education Quota Act no longer applies.

4) If a member state does not meet this requirement, they must put effort into meeting the requirements at the expense of other sources of expenditure.

Seriously? Quotas? Also, metagaming for tieing it to gameside stats. And just a bad idea anyhow.
