BAN FLAMETHROWERS IN WARFARE

A resolution to slash worldwide military spending.

Category: Global Disarmament

Strength: Mild

Proposed by: Lextra

Description: Objective: To reduce the amount of forest-fires and burning down of cities per year.

Main Text: Lots of forest-fires and cities burn down per year destroying acres of lands, people lose their properties and their belongings. Per year 100,000 forests burn down destroying 4-5 million acres of land and around 80 cities burn down destroying 80,000 acres. Our research team spent years figuring out the main reason of these fires. 69% of the times humans due to carelessness use fire and forgot to extinguish therefore burning down acres of land. Most of the times people use flamethrowers in warfare and accidentally burn down a tree which keeps on burning and burns other trees in its surroundings which burns others thus destroying millions of acres.

Urge: Flamethrowers cost the government a lot. Thus, banning flamethrowers will slash worldwide military spending and save a lot of cities and millions of acres of land.

And using flame-throwers (or anything else) to start uncontrolled fires in forests is already illegal, under the terms of GAR# 295 'Prevention of Wildfires', anyhows... so that's duplication, too.

Police Taser Program

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Arvira

Description: Rendering unarmed or armed with police baton, police officers helpless in situations involving armed criminals or situations where the police officer is vastly outnumbered.

Figuring that arming police officers with firearms would only add to the lethality and lack of safety of those involved in any situation mentioned above.

Sees fit, that police officers should undergo training in usage of tasers to help them deal with situations mentioned above. If a situation involves firearms and is beyond the police officers capabilities this would ensure that the police officer can at least hold out until special forces arrive.

The training protocol would consist of:
-regular mental health check ups, to determine if a police officer is capable for safe taser armement.
-and the Taser Education Program, which aims to teach any capable police officer to use a taser and when a taser should be used.
-a police officer that passes both programmes would be armed with a reloadable taser and multiple cartridges for the taser.

Laws regarding safe taser usage:
-tasers should be used only after a criminal attempts escape or previously threatens the police officer, if these do not occur the police officer is not permitted the usage of a taser on a target.
-the taser should be holstered at all times when it is not needed.
-intimidating a target which does not fulfill any conditions as metioned above, by aiming the taser in their direction is prohibited.
-if any of the laws are broken the police officer should be given a punishment depending on the severity of their misconduct. The punishments should be layed out by any country employing this resolution.
-civilians are not permitted taser usage unless the country laws state otherwise.

Finally asks all nations participating to ensure the safe use of tasers, if any of the laws regarding taser usage are broken by a police officer a respective punishment should be involved.

May as well call this Police Neutering Program, because that is what it is.

So... just silly and not illegal, is that what you're saying? I will say that looking at all the tasers and training/evaluation required, it does seem to fit into IS/Significant.

Public STD Database Act

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Turpann

Description: Description: The purpose of this act is to create a publicly accessible database of all person(s) whom test positive to all known sexually transmitted diseases (STD).

ACKNOWLEDGING - We understand that any information found in a persons medical record is considered private information, however find information specifically relating to the diagnoses of STDs valuable to the millions of lives unaffected.

ESTABLISHING - A public database containing a list of all person(s) diagnosed with an STD. This database includes the most recent government photo of that person (whether it be drivers license, government ID etc) so that people whom share the same first and last name may be differentiated via photo provided.

CLARIFYING - Below depicts specifics on all aspects of the act

1 - This is a database available to everyone.

2 - Once the database is accessed by a person, via the internet, the user will type in a first and last name. This will bring up a list with photos of all person(s) matching that name whom have tested positive for ALL known STDs.

3 - More detailed information about the person listed on the database is provided. Once the user has clicked on a person in the database, they will be provided basic medical information depicting the STD(s) the person is diagnosed with, date of diagnosis. The person will also be provided with a description of active STDs to educate the user on that particular disease. Warning information will also be provided to inform users of potential side affects that come along with making sexual contact with that person.

5 - It is important to note this database will only record person(s) whom have been professionally diagnosed by a trained, licensed, educated medical doctor/ establishment.

DISCLAIMER - The database will not provide a list for all person(s) who obtain an STD. It will only provide valid information for those diagnosed (See clarification 5). Liberator force

A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Category: International Security

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Dp Country

Description: The forces of DEN continue to take over regions.

Each and every proposal I have seen to condemn DEN has been repealed or the proposal shot down.

If we can not condemn DEN, then we must take back the regions that they own.

Attention moderators, according to the rules, the WA can not establish a military or police force. To be clear, this is not a military or police force. To be clear, this a proposal that would establish a coalition of nations that would go in and liberate regions under DEN's control.

Attention Dp Country, this is meta-gaming. This is a textbook example of a WA military. This is about as illegal as a proposal can get.

Child Destruction Ban

Recognizing that the procedure of ending the life of a partially born child is gruesome and gravely unjust,

Understanding that the mother has no legitimate health interest or right to end her child's life once the birth process has started,

Observing that most intelligent species, including mankind, are well-developed at the time of birth; each having a living brain, beating heart, a full body, or their functional equivalents; and are, in every way, persons who are entitled to the full and equal recognition of their dignity and protection under the law of their inherent rights, among which includes the right to live,

This Resolution Hereby:

1. Defines child destruction as an overt act or intentional attempt to end a child's life during birth;

2. Further defines birth, as used in this resolution, as the second and third stages of labor, namely the passing of a child from the uterus and through the birth canal as well as the expulsion of the afterbirth;

3. Requires that all member states criminalize and duly prosecute child destruction as a form of murder;

4. Clarifies that this resolution does not interfere with any legal right to terminate pregnancy.

Standard Labor Act

A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

Category: Social Justice

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Federate Empire

Description: The purpose of this Act is to ensure that all workers in WA member nations have basic access to work and have rights that protect their status as workers. It also creates an committee which will supervise the proceedings which this Act has mandated.

ACKNOWLEDGING- Member nations might lack laws that prevent workers from being economically dependent on their employer(s) as to make their status as freemen worthless.

ESTABLISHING- That nations establish basic rights for workers which will further be explained in this Act.

CLARIFYING-
I. That all physically and mentally able working people not be prevented from attaining a job, and that the governments be mandated to provide a job for the unemployed in state-run services.
II. Governments should establish a minimum wage based on the yearly inflation of the nation.
III. Workers who might not have transportation, receives government transportation to their job.
IV. Workers must not work for an excessive amount of time, not exceeding 40 hours per week, unless extra pay is accounted for; in such case they may work on their own free will.
V. This Act also creates committee which stands as an independent, non-partisan agency that protects the interests of the workers, and inspects working conditions and workers' rights.

HEREBY- Establishes a committee, which shall supervise within its jurisdiction what is proposed in "V." and establishes basic rights which have been proposed as "I.-IV."

It appears to contradict Individual Working Freedoms

Also, mandatory government transportation to work? Most places already have this. They are called "Buses".

Lazer Tag Industry

A resolution to develop industry around the world.

Category: Advancement of Industry

Area of Effect: Tort Reform

Proposed by: Darrinlandistan

Description: Fellow nations, I am highly disturbed by the lack of proper Lazer Tag establishments in many of our fine states and regions around the world. We are robbing our citizens of the best entertainment available in the modern world. Lazer Tag is not just a "game". It is a lifestyle. Our citizens have a right to be entertained; it is a basic right for people, right up there with food, water, clean air, and shelter. An interesting fact to consider: developed countries, such as the US and Australia, have many, many more Lazer Tag establishments than lesser developed countries, like those found in Sub-Saharan Africa. Coincidence? I think not. Another startling stat: the Lazer Tag industry in the US brings in $246 million a year and employs nearly 7000 people a year. What a way to boost your state's employment rate, economy and happiness! Also Lazer Tag can be (and is) used for realistic military training. With the mandatory establishment of Lazer Tag arenas in every state that this proposal proposes, high quality troops will be just around the corner. In conclusion, all the cool kids should vote for this bill because Lazer Tag is fun, a sign of modern advancement and sophistication, stimulatory to the economy, and good for the military too. Also, it's Lazer Tag, so there's not really a down side. I hope you will consider my proposal.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: helvetica_neue_1457998573

Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights

Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Helvetica Neue

Description: Understanding that certain nations have a large population of undocumented immigrants;

Realizing that many of these undocumented immigrants have contributed to society by working hard and paying taxes;

Believing that undocumented illegals should be granted the same rights as any other citizens;

Further believing that a general amnesty throughout WA member states would help to build a more humane society;

Concluding that a collective approach should prevent masses of undocumented immigrants throughout the WA community in the future;

The World Assembly thus urges its members to:

(A) Proclaim a general amnesty by:

Granting temporary legal status and work permits for all undocumented immigrants currently living in a WA nation.

Waiving a pardon for all incarcerated illegal immigrants independently of the duration of residency in the nation.

(B) Grant citizenship for all children below the legal age of majority as defined in their nation who have lived in the nation for at least one year.

(C) Grant citizenship for all undocumented immigrants who have:

Lived in the nation for at least ten years; or

Paid taxes for at least five years; or

Completed secondary education and are less than 25-years-old by the date of the citizenship submission.

(D) Grant free-mobility to all WA member states citizens giving them the following rights:

The right to freely travel, study, work, or live in any WA country of their choice.

The right to be treated as a citizen of the nation which he currently resides.

To assure that the terms are respected the World Assembly:
i. Creates an independent organism that shall oversee the treatment of illegal immigrants throughout WA member states.
ii. Creates the Humanitarian Relief Emergency Fund (HREF) which aims to help nations confronted with humanitarian crises.

Abolish Protesting

A resolution to restrict political freedoms in the interest of law and order.

Category: Political Stability

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Aaroncorpia

Description: I believe if we want to keep our countries safe from riots, uprising, and and civil unrest we need to abolish protesting. There are way to many risks of letting people defy the government. Also think of the danger you are putting your police at when you let these violent protesters storm the streets, many people die and death is bad. Also productivity in your country slows down when you have half your people constantly protesting about one thing or another. Please stand with me against protesting.

Blog, bloviating, was never going to pass anyway. Possibly strength violation too.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL
ID: eskaeba_1457884646

Nuclear Waste Act

A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental

Industry Affected: Mining

Proposed by: Eskaeba

Description: Description: The purpose of this act is to ensure that less radioactive material and nuclear waste is being put into the environment.

ACKNOWLEDGING - that tons of nuclear and radioactive waste is being thrown into the environment by the means of mining and evasive nuclear tests. This prevents nations from overly harming the environment with nuclear tests, and acknowledges a annual nuclear clean up service funded by the government.

ESTABLISHING - that all governments cut down on radioactive and nuclear waste, and ensure nuclear tests occur less often.

CLARIFYING - that governments run a monthly check on nuclear and radioactive waste rates, and, if too high, condemn those who increase its rate (whether this be a business or a singular person). Punish (not severely, like ejection) nations who refuse to abide by acts that this proposal offers, OR highly increase their region's nuclear waste outputs monthly.

ENSURING - that nations do not conduct nuclear tests away from the public eye or have private mines that produce waste and mine radioactive material for governmental and economical purposes, those who do so can be punished (again, not severely). New explosives that previously produced heavy amounts of nuclear or radioactive waste can and shall be manufactured and put to use to not only prevent environmental damage, but also cut down on risks of an inhumane birth.

HEREBY ENACTING - that nations cut down on nuclear waste emissions and decrease the size of their carbon footprint.

I see this little gem got missed. Massive category violation, and contradicts "Nuclear Testing Protocol" which demands nuclear tests be conducted in as much secrecy as possible.

ID: freshprinceofbelair_1458131089

Men's Health Act

A resolution to reduce income inequality and increase basic welfare.

Category: Social Justice

Strength: Significant

Proposed by: FreshPrinceOfBelAir

Description: Men in all corners of the world are insecure. Men can have depression, anxiety, can be insecure and can feel lonely. Men can have it hard just like women. There is a stigma towards men that must be stopped. A man isn't a hulking human being that doesn't have feelings. Men have feelings to, men can have problems, men can be raped. It's a double standard we must eliminate if we want gender equality.

Approvals: 2 (Independant Canada, Relasis)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 106 more approvals)

Voting Ends: in 3 days 3 hours

Blog, category fail, duplication of CoCR.

Recognizing, an unborn child has the same rights as any other citizen of the world,

Noting, if a child has the same rights as everyone else, abortion is therefor the capital crime of murder,

Thus, The World Assembly Bans Abortion in all cases.

Take away the gun control laws

A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.

Category: Gun Control

Decision: Relax

Proposed by: United States of Farmers

Description: We have too many gun control laws as it is and everybody wants to add more. What ever happened to the old days, when people could carry guns and have no reciprocation. Think of all the good it will do society!

- It would deter crooks from robbing people walking down the
street.
- It would make the carriers feel safer walking down the street.
- Husbands would feel safer about letting their wives go
somewhere alone.

Now, of course, everything has a down side. Here are some of the bad points.

- Crazy people could have a gun and kill somebody walking down the street.

There is a lot more but we can stop all of them with three rules.

- The first is a concealed weapon carry perment. If you want
to carry a gun it has to be concealed.
- The second is that you can't carry if you have any kind of
criminal record.
- The third id that you have to take a gun safety test before
you can get you carry permit.

Kind of bloggy. Some pretty arbitrary and simplistic ideas too. Doesn't really do anything either.

Funding Space program act

A resolution to develop industry around the world.

Category: Advancement of Industry

Area of Effect: Environmental Deregulation

Proposed by: Treka-conland

Description: This world hasn't put much effort into funding national space programs.
I say we up our funding the space program and look on to a much bigger universe.

Argument:

1.) We should all support the programs around the world because the exploration of space could unlock new possibilities for the nations of the world. Not every nation has to participate though, citizen can also have the right to found their own space programs. The one expectation is the governments had to fund them.

2.) This world doesn't need your space programs, all we need is money! The govermants shouldn't waste their time on these petty space programs.

3.) we should build an international space program and Reigions will find it. Combined our technology could be amazing and sending us to space would be no problem, Next up Mars!

So … Flat tax, but tax some more than others. Self contradicting. Also, the WA has nothing to do with domestic taxation policies.

Repeal "Landmine Safety Protocol"

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal

Resolution: GA#356

Proposed by: Trump Is Boss

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #356: Landmine Safety Protocol (Category: International Security; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

1. A war may last more than the predetermined time for a landmine, posing a threat for active soldiers

3. The best way of preventing civilians from getting blown up by a landmine when a war is over is putting a "Warning Minefield" Sign

Please consider these reasons in order to repeal this resolution.
