Rioters in Jacobstown
Nova Capile had controlled East Africa for almost a century. During that time, millions of Capileans had migrated there, away from the overcrowded Capilean homeland. And the native population, was, at best, uneasy with this situation. However, due to the modern technology which was flowing freely into the country by the Capilean government, progress was made. Infrastructure and public services were built up, and the African population gradually adjusted to the new lifestyle. As well, the Africans were steadily given more rights and eventually became equal to a standard citizen; the only restrictions placed upon them were: 1, they were not allowed to marry a white Capilean(and vice versa); 2, they were not allowed to immigrate to Nova Capile; and 3, they were not allowed join the armed forces(unless they were in their own, separate units) or posses a firearm.
Everything remained peaceful for a time, and it seemed like the two races might get along. But in Ethiopia, part of the Capilean Colony of Greater Ethiopia(including Ethiopia and Eretria), the natives were especially unruly. The thought they should be truly free, under a democratic government representing the true people of Ethiopia. For years they operated in secret, gathering followers and equipment. And finally, they struck. Using the murder of an elderly black man by a Capilean police officer, they instigated bloody riots in Jacobstown. Using weapons smuggled from the nearby Republic of the Congo, they slaughtered any whites they came upon and fought riot policemen in the streets. In the following weeks, an open revolt against the state began.
The terrorist group known as Free Ethiopia, under Warlord Alem Melech Mekdem, declared a war against the "colonist invaders". Northern and Western provinces went into full revolt and eventually became rebel controlled, whilst adjoining provinces are a bloodbath of fighting. Droves of Africans are flocking to join the rebels, and the latter are having a hard time arming them. Mobs inside cities armed with clubs, bats, rakes, and anything else they can find engage the police in open combat, loot businesses, and rape and murder Capileans they find. It has descended into chaos. Colonial forces, both white and black, are struggling to return the situation to control; right now they are pleading the government to send troops to their aid. Amongst all the bloodshed, many await the international community's response as the death toll mounts.
