The year is 1920, wars have been fought in history and many nations have been founded. This is a time of change, innovation, and even warfare. Inventions once thought impossible are being created by geniuses in labs, new methods of engineering, trade, politics, and above all else warfare are being introduced to the public every year. As the sun rises once again on planet Earth a new age dawns. It is up to the nations of Earth to write this new age for themselves and for the history books. History is book that is only half complete, the pen is yours.

Nations with under 50 scientific advancement must make techs 15 years before the roleplay date. Nations with under 100 but over 50 SA must use techs from five years before roleplay date. Nations with over 100 scientific advancement may use tech up to the roleplay date, and nations with over 200 scientific advancement may use techs a year after the roleplay date.

Breaking rules will lead to consequences, the harshest being banned for RP for a week and having your previous RP posts voided FOREVER

1. No capturing nations with settlers
2. One nation per person in roleplay, no puppets.
3. Make land claims realistic for your population, no populations of 5 million inhabiting all of Brazil.
4. Founding posts should be be realistic and not map hogging. You may also NOT found with any colonies, and nations you found with must have VERY similar culture. For example, Portugal and Spain have very similar culture, but not Germany or Denmark.
5. All nations have a military maximum of 10 million soldiers when semi mobilized, provided you have the economy to maintain these soldiers.
6. All posts are expected to be IN CHARACTER and a MINIMUM of 5 lines with full grammar, there are no exceptions.
7. No creating too many and UNREALISTIC technologies for the current year. You should know what we mean by unrealistic. No laser guns in 1920.
8. No god modding. (Winning a war unrealistically, making unrealistic techs as mentioned above.)
9. Unless using a free tech, you can only create two techs per year.
10. All nations start with techs before the year 1900.
11. No weapons of mass destruction are allowed.
12. No reverse engineering.
13. Report all god modding to a moderator or Minister of Roleplay.

A Strong Country

GreatestBanks is a Constitutional Monarchy with an elected Parliament that is located in the United States. The country has a large population and one of the best-trained and best armed militaries in the world. It is a dominant economic power, with the highest GDP and one of the highest GDP per capita rankings in the world. With an industrialized economy, the nation is modern, powerful, and strong.

Nationalism, science, and work is deeply embed in the culture. Since its establishment, the country has been involved in many different wars and the population feeling a great sense of pride due to the achievements of the Industrial Revolution. The ''Middle Class'' of the country has a sense that they ''made themselves'' ''If you work hard, you can do it'' is an unofficial motto of the country. Also, the population has the 2nd most scientific advancement in the world, showing its commitment to learning and mastering the art of warfare. Work is also embedded, with work being seen as the key to success and self-worth. Without work and production at the local factory, you do not contribute to the society.

During the late 1700s and early 1800s GreatestBanks was the first nation to industrialize in a period known as the First Industrial Revolution. The first oil refineries in the world were in fact invented here in Texas by Chevron. Living standards rose dramatically and sustainably for the first time in all of history. Average people obtained stable jobs at the factories in large cities and the population dramatically urbanized. Agricultural work and the Rural population both shrunk dramatically. Despite a short dominance of manufacturing, foreign competitors quickly arose and much of the developed world also industrialized, giving competitors to the once invincible domestic producers. This meant that in order to stay alive, domestic producers needed to revitalize themselves, this has led to what current historians dubbed ''The Second Industrial Revolution.

And so, a revitalization of the economy occurred. Genius inventions such as motorcycles, better electricity, improved steam engines, and the like revitalized domestic manufacturing. These inventions, however, spread to the rest of the world, and, once again, being competitive became a top priority.

By the turn of the new century, an incredible invention, the automobile, changed the world. It allowed for easy and quick transportation and was much faster than a regular carriage. Buying an automobile became even easier when entrepreneurs invented the ''Assembly Line'' allowing for mass production. By far the most important invention, however, was the airplane, a hunk of metal that flew into the air despite being heavier than air.

All these revolutions were used not only by the populace, but by the military. The military invented tanks with revolving turrets, airplanes with forward-firing machine guns, and warships with increasingly powerful engines. This revolutionized warfare and technology, and brought militaries into the new age. GreatestBanks's military is armed with all the latest gadgets, and is one of the best trained in the world.

And so, it is 1920. The economy is booming, the trade surplus is fantastic, and the army is stronger than ever.

Automobiles

A genius invention, the automobile, is being mass-produced in GreatestBanks. The four largest automobile companies are Ford Motor Company, General Motors,Chrysler/Maxwell Motors, and Rolls-Royce. (each of which contain the brands that they actually have right now)

The most innovative company is certainly General Motors, despite the fact that Ford invented the now famous ''Assembly Line'' mass production tactic. GM, as it is called, has produced new ads that target emotional appeal of its cars and often produces, cheap, and powerful models. Chrysler/Maxwell Motors is a middle-class brand, and is the third largest automobile company in the country. Ford is the largest and most influential company. Rolls-Royce is exclusive. Producing only the highest performance and most luxurious cars, Rolls-Royce is the brand of the elite.

Production generally occurs in the midwest and parts of the North-east. The factories of Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler/Maxwell Motors are based mostly in the Midwest, mainly in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Illinois, however, Chrysler/Maxwell Motors has a significant production presence on the West Coast, especially California. Rolls-Royce, on the other hand, produces in the land with only the most highly skilled labor, the North-East. Rolls-Royce, however, has only 4 factories, the Dover Production Plant, the Newark Production Plant, the Portsmouth New Hampshire Plant, and the Nashua Production Plant.

London, United Kingdom - Late Winter, 1920

Monsieur Edmond Prieur stands outside the Concert Hall of the Auraluxian legends before him in the capital of London, for he was yet another 'First Consul' in Auraluxia's history. It had been one of the slimmest elections in Auraluxian history, and he would represent the final link of pacata libatis, a concept that dominated Auraluxian politics for over a century.

Edmond was one of many First Consuls, many have ruled Auraluxia beforehand. Despite it's French origin, the First Consul is democratically elected every four years. As he entered the Reichstag, he pondered of how his rule would affect his nation. For long it had been a multicultural society, however there was a rising trend of Auraluxians hoping to create an 'Auraluxian culture' for Auraluxians and Auraluxians only. These attempts have been mostly failures, however they started to catch on with the populace now.

Walking into the Reichstag, his secretary by the name of Wilhelm Solf led Edmond to his office. Edmond took a seat in the leather lined sofa, Wilhelm sat next to him shortly after. "So I hear that you're the new First Consul? I must congratulate you, you know how hard it is to be elected, even in the years where there were large gaps.". Edmond took a short breath and then spoke shortly after. "I got elected, and now I want to make sure that I will lead Auraluxia to it's peak. I'm just a bit nervous, a simple signature of my mine could affect the whole country.". Edmond and Wilhelm started a long conversation, as the nation ventured into another age.

In 1769, Ireland and Great Britain forged a union, however economic difficulties brought both nations down to their knees by the Depression of 1778. At first the depression led to a rise of the black market, but by the end of the year Northern Ireland and Scotland were almost in complete anarchy. As anarchy spread, in 1786, the United Kingdom signed their Declaration of Fragmentation, which divided the United Kingdom into England, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. However the new fragmented states also failed, with Scotland being the last state to fall to anarchy 1795. In the early 1800s, a semi organized state in the southern coast of England began to appear. Eventually as the Pact of Aura began to reach into former London, a form of elected government started appearing. The first prime minister was Harvey White, elected in 1827. Harvey White named the Pact of Aura Auraluxia in 1833. In 1835, Dermot Brennan became the new prime minister, Dermot prioritized on fast recolonization of former lands. Thirty years later, Auraluxia had reclaimed all of the former United Kingdom, but what most Auraluxians had pride on was their fast modernization. In less than a century, they had become a modern state with a world class economy and a sizable military.

Eristia is founded
The Democratic Republic of Eristia has been founded in the nation of Mexico. Eristia seceded from the Spanish Empire 100 years ago but had not been sent as a independent, sovereign nation until 1850. The nations Capital is Guadalajara and it's largest city is Mexico City. Eristia is split into 10 regions. The people of Eristia, also known as Erists, are very open to changes in society and enjoy many political freedoms. The countries civil rights are some of the best in the world. Elections in Eristia are held every six years. Politicians can only have a maximum of 3 terms. The people under Spanish rules were treated brutally, and revolted Becuase of said treatment. The war took three years, but Eristia gained independence from the Spanish.

Invasion of Canada

Most of the land of Canada has been invaded by Banksian forces numbering 25,000. Several Siskin bombers launched attacks and raids before the invasion, although they faced little to no resistance. There was no real Canadian military force waiting for them.

When 15,000 troops marched into Ontario, they were excepting a big battle, one of epic proportions that would test them, instead, nothing. Only the snow slowed down the march to capture the entirety of the province, and even that could not stop the inevitable advance. Ontario was easily secured and captured by the army.

The 10,000 troops sent to conquer the more depopulated and colder lands of the West also faced nothing but the snow. The troops marched through British Columbia quite easily and are continuing their advances northwards. The government of GreatestBanks plans to annex the valuable territories of Canada that are West of Ontario (including Ontario), which produce much oil and can boost the profits of glorious Exxon Mobil.

Asleau is founded in Greece and Turkey. Asleau is a cultural melting pot, with all different types of religions, colors, and cultures. Asleau has an open border policy, however, they must go through a thorough check, and pass a full test, which is challenging. All races, religions, colors, and cultures are accepted, however, they must abide by the rules of Asleau, and they must also be non-violent. THE CULTURE IN BOTH GREECE AND TURKEY IS HELLENISTIC, NOT MUSLIM. Asleau is being recognized along with its two new ships being introduced as of now, as the first ships have already been produced. Despite the heavy winds bogging down many troops, the Banksian army continued forward through Canada. The depopulated areas that it was conquering had almost no remaining soldiers. This allowed for a swift march through the oil-producing lands and a swifter conquest of them. GreatestBanks is conquering the provinces of Ontario, Manitoba, Sask, Alberta, British Columbia, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and the Yukon Territory. This will allow for the Alaskan state to be connected by land to the mainland GreatestBanks and for a dramatic increase in oil production.

Within one month of establishment, over 4,000 members had enlisted, and with Prussian funding and training beginning from Head-Quarters in Goose Bay. All Trade Cut off With Prussia, Canada Razed

With the treacherous and savage Prussians funding the Canadian enemy of the state, GreatestBanks's government has decided to ban all trade with Prussia and has decided to bomb and advance naval forces northwards to Greenland and around the Atlantic. This is being done to block the shipment of any new Prussians to aid the primitive Canadians. This is a perfectly reasonable reaction, said the CIA Chief.

Now, with the fact that this Canadian ''Resistance'' has no airplanes, the military is sending more Siskin aircraft than ever to bomb and strike Canadian and Prussian forces. The initial tactic of facing Canadians head to head has been recognized as worthless, as guerrilla warfare is the new opposition norm. Forces are now organized and sleep in constantly guarded towers and fortresses in order to provide maximum protection to them and protect from guerrilla attacks. Siskin fighter-bombers provide as great terror use against both the guerrillas and the population, frightening them due to the fact that the Siskin is both well armed and fast.

The border has been sealed to all people and will remain like this for some time. Anyone even suspected of being part of the Canadian Resistance is taken by the secret police, the CIA, and shot dead. Canadian forces re-take Sudbury

Following intense Urban combat, the 14th, 15th and 17th Company's, amounting to 500 men, retook the town of Sudbury, and restored the Government office their. The government office has now been used as a garrison and armoury, and captured Banksian munitions and weapons are being stockpiled. Among actions taken were the capture of members of the CIA, who not only revealed that they were committing illegal and dishonourable acts, but also the location of oil lines, and transports, which were exploited when over 20 shipments of oil were either captured or destroyed, and 2 oil rigs were blown up with dynamite. The CIA operatives were tried and sentenced to death by hanging.



The Prussian government has since laughed off the attempt of embargo by the GB, as Prussia not only produces more goods than GB, but also has a larger and more efficient motor industry anyway, with companies like Opel ''Driving Ford off the face of Europe''.

Sevania Rises From The Ashes

A country once believed to simply be a myth, an empire so brutally strong and powerful that many have regarded them as an impossibility. The Order of Sevania was once existent. Hundreds of years ago, 1531 was the year it first opened the gates to more citizens. Now, people have sighted the flag, scattered over the middle-east, and people have begun spreading rumors. It first spread a message of terror, and mass panic followed. The flag was torn from the poles that supported it, and the poles dug up. But more flags cropped up, just as quickly as they were being torn down. Many moved away, fearing that they had returned. Fearing that after years of calm and peace, they would now return to retake what was rightfully theirs. Once the flags were up, next was the attacks. In the space of just two days, over 3,000 had been killed.

Nobody could explain what was going on, as many believed that the Order had dissolved many many years prior to now. Uniformed men caused hassle in the streets, attacking people whom had never seen such brutality before. Random citizens were humiliated and chained up to fences and rocks. They were whipped into submission and succumbed to the pain. The authority were not bothered. Sevania had gained power, it had been part of their plan. After all these years, the government they had called their own was now nothing but a corrupt group of evil people, wanting to take their frustration out on the people of their nation. Nobody was prepared for what was about to hit them. Citizens were locked up, seemingly for nothing. The outside world had no way of knowing about this, for the borders had been guarded. Large walls were built around cities, blocking the helpless populace that resided there from ever escaping.

Through the night, men vanished. People had sighted them being dragged through the streets into small buildings. In a new language, one that had never been recognized before, signs popped up, defacing the once beautiful structures, down to nothing but pieces of old stone and brick. The populace panicked, and subsequently rioted. Thousands gathered, but were quickly terminated. Riots sprung up all over the country, but none of them picked up enough momentum to make a difference. The Order has regained control, from hundreds of years ago, up until now. They had no idea that this was going to happen to them, but now it had. 1920 was the revolution for Sevania. A year that they would take their country back. The people had become nothing but resources used for the economic growth of the country. The capital city had been renamed, the language had been changed, and the people of the country would be altered forever. New born children with defects were immediately abandoned, people with any disability, of ANY kind, were not permitted to have children. Extremely strict laws were made, seemingly from nothing but a pen and a paper saying so. The country was a death trap for foreigners, nobody of foreign blood was permitted into the country, and anyone who attempted to get into the country was hanged.

The millions of men, vanishing into the night, had become soldiers. They were trained for 16 hours a day and never given rest. Sevania aimed to become the worlds strongest force. Not only on economic grounds, but technological grounds as well. A leader was not designated until 3 months after Sevania took over the country. When the leader was announced, he quite literally became the people's God. His name, was Estefaro Guadarelka. A ruthless dictator, known for his brutal way of dealing with crime. One offence, one quick shot to the head. The people were incredibly afraid of Estefaro and his 7ft frame, towering over the citizens as he made his speeches.

He was crowned: "Sir Estefaro Guadarelka, His Brilliance, King Emperor of The Sevanian Order." People bowed to him in fear, not daring to say a word against the government, lest they get executed. At the age of 49, he will permanently reign until his death, by which time he would have a son to take over from him. There shall be no Queens or Princesses ruling the country. This decision was made by Estefaro himself, as guards made sure that no women become powerful, nor men equally. In Sevania, the government has all rights over the people and the animals within the country borders. Searches are done over all people every few days to make sure that nothing against the law of the government is taking place. Crime in Sevania went from 18% down to 2% in less than 6 months, and now, the country is ruled by a new constitution, a new set of laws. The old constitution was burnt, as Estefaro sat smoking a cigar by the fire.

Canadian Resistance attack GreatestBanks base in Ottawa

The Gunter's Geese resistance group continues to grow, and has swelled in number from 25,000 to 35,000 over the past few months. Following this, a decisive move was taken by Hauptman, now Oberst. Gunter Schleef himself. At approximately 4:30AM, Banksian soldiers awoke to the sound of artillery fire. Several 75mm howitzers fired upon the largest base in Ottawa while 15 Companies, the entire Ontario Brigade, numbering 2,000, stormed the city. Many civilian irregulars joined the fighting, being issued weapons and ammunition captured during the Battle of Sudbury.



The 1st. Quebec artillery brigade in action. Over the course of the battle they fired over 240 explosive shells, of which and apparent 200 landed on target, while the rest went further than the base, hitting a nearby areas harmlessly, though the damage and shock likely weakened fortifications.

The use of both the lighter and more cost effective MG-21 won the day for the Canadians, who's excellent use of the light-machine gun allowed them impromptu but effective firing positions through out the city. It is said a Canadian fighter could carry as much as five times as much ammunition owing to the lighter weight of his machine-gun and ammo.

However, in the urban combat the MP-21 showed its starch, with the name ''Corpse Rattler'' being given to it by Banksian soldiers, owing to the notable ''Ratatatat'' the gun produces when firing, and the amount of corpses this noise produces.

By the end of the combat, Banksian casualties were high, with over 350 dead, and the base damaged beyond any use or repair. The Canadians, owing to their superior close-quarters weapons, were able to take minimal casualties, with only three companies taking any casualties, the 5th Ontario, the 3rd Ontario, and the 1st Ontario, who took roughly 40 casualties each.

The Battle however was not decisive, fighting in Canada will continue, however a force of 500 are being left behind in Ottawa in order to keep peace in the city, and ensure that things remain under control. The rest of the Ontario Brigade will resume partisan activities until further notice, while the 75mm pieces used in the attack will be repurposed as anti-aircraft guns in the event of any revenge bombings, utilizing their shrapnel shells to tear through the canvas bodies of the Siskin.

Over the next 48 hours, all men within the borders of Sevania will be drafted directly into the military, through either of the five branches. The Grandu Forcenlans, The Aiirik Forcenlans, The Ocealvik Forcelans, The Resurtier Forcenlans or The Intelikorp Forcenlans.
These five branches are the core of the military and stand for what the defense forces of Sevania are willing to do in order to protect it's people and it's resources. Over 300,000 men have handed in their admission forms and are now being trained and selected into one of the five branches. Projections indicate that a further 1,200,000 could be forced to join at the click of a finger, due to a new law recently introduced, named 'Forcendruft El Selectica Mu Rondros.' Translating to 'Forces Draft and Selection Process.' This law says:

'Any male citizen of Sevania, over the age of 16, can and will be extracted from their current location to fight for the country if it is deemed necessary by the King Emperor and his most loyal advisers.'

The picture you see above, is of the Grandu Battalion X02. This battalion is on a 6 hour walk through the arid climate of Sevania, waiting for further instructions via their commanding officer. In additional news, over 700,000 women have been drafted into the intelligence divisions of the Forcenlans. They have been assigned duties, and must remain on that duty until told that they can be removed. These shifts last around 18 hours, and breaks last about 30 minutes.
