• 3x 21R5/150-2 R2 voith cycloidal rudder = 1000kW*0.4*150% = 800shp each or so? Surely five or ten knots on all three, plus docking 'n stuff, and they're good for roll control. I know they're not specifically designed to install off-horizontal right now, but I really like this approach to auxiliary power.

Background: Due to increased needs of the Allanean Navy to project its force far beyond the reach of Allanea’s regional border, the Department of Research, Evolution, And Developement [DREAD], has carried out preliminary research for a long-range, nuclear-powered frigate, capable of replacing the previous Firefly-class FFG in Allanean service, and carrying out long-range patrol missions beyond Allanean borders, both as part of aircraft carrier battlegroups, and independently.

After the preliminary research had been carried out, several arms companies have competed to attempt to create a ship that would fit the new national requirements. Three had come to the contest - Kazansky Heavy Industries, owned by the King himself, with their KHI-23 frigate, Hammond Motors, with the HM-12, and of course, Allanean Arms, with the current design, which rapidly beat out all competitors, even the one produced by the King’s company.

The result has been a semi-stealthy, reasonably fast frigate (or, if one chooses to dub it so, a ‘small destroyer’), with a sensiblea armament and aviation capacity (we recommend the purchase of Lyran Arms helicopters.

The Type 69 is available to all state and private purchasers that are not generally blocked from arms sales by Allanean export rules.
