MBO
ONE

Here is the commentary from Mitoland...

The contest begins

Announcer: Well, that was a perfect opening act - it's set the mood just right for this spectacular WorldVision 44! Now, let's introduce our commentators: Georgìos Thamnéa and Lucè Masdìa!
Georgìos: Well, I have to agree with that! I am impressed by that opening act! What will WV45 come up with?
Lucè: I'm not sure, Georgìos, but one thing I am sure about is that WV44 will be so amazing! Let's get this show on the road!
Georgìos: Yeah, and our first contest act is Polkopia - by Justina Vlašic and called Death, this is one of the fans' favourites! It's just a shame they have the dread of going first. Here they are on their Talvezoutan postcard...

Justina Vlašic - Death - 01 - POLKOPIA

Lucè: Well that was rightfully promising; this will be a true contender tonight unless we have an unexpected winner! That melody went so well with that voice!
Georgìos: Yeah, and may I remind you that Mitoland's is the ninth act in the show.
Lucè: Up next is the host of this amazing WV44, Talvezout. Here they are doing something traditionally Talvezoutan in their postcard...

Isobella Bachelor - Undone - 02 - TALVEZOUT

Georgìos: What... was... that? This is WorldVision, not a ballet school! And her scratchy voice - ugh, so glad it's over - definitely did not live up to Talvezout's sublime opening act!
Lucé: Yeah, I have to agree with that, Geo.
Georgìos: Next up, The Sword Bloke is doing their act. Must say, I've been waiting for this one because it seems very intruiging. Although it'll be dodgy. Beware crowd...

Shop Owner & One-Hit Jimson - End - 03 - THE SWORD BLOKE

Lucè: Well, I don't know about you, Geo, but I don't really like songs that say I'll be bombed, although the melody was alright. Plus, acts with people being killed in them are traditionally not very popular.
Georgìos: That song was so amazing, it's going to be stuck in my head all night! Tonigh-igh-igh-igh-igh-ight, you'll be bombed! Just kidding. It was (censored). I could have died!
Lucè: Well, off they go (thank goodness). Time to focus on act 4 now...

superCOOLownerBAND - A Million Ways To Know Shop Owner Lives In Your Country - 04 - OWNER-OSITY

Georgìos: I loved that. Tune was pretty good, not typical at all!
Lucè: Well, I'm not sure the crowd agree with that, Geo. I mean, look at them! Also, the second act in a row with people being killed! WV44 is being swarmed by madmen!
Georgìos: Yeah, actually, come to think of it, you're right. Oh, never mind. Coming up next is act 5 - this has been prepared very last-minute. Here is their postcard, where they tried fishing...

Retired - DREAMPLANET

Lucè: Oh, we've just received the last-minute news that Dreamplanet have pulled out from WorldVision. What a shame - I remember watching their spectacular entries from past WorldVisions! Dreamplanet will be missed, that's for sure.
Georgìos: Well, I guess you're right, Lu. Up next, though, is Brittanny with their act.
Lucè: Act five. Here's their postcard!
Georgìos: And before the act starts, may we remind you that Mitoland is performing eighth now.

Sophié - Dans Mes Rêves (In My Dreams) - 05 - BRITTANNY

Lucè: A very weird melody there, I'm not sure I liked that!
Georgìos: That woman had everything but a voice! WV is not all about the looks, Brittanny, you know.
Lucè: Okay, okay, Geo. Up next, though, is a song that I have been waiting for - act six, by Ekoz. They always have good acts.

Jorge Sollarmann - The Beginning - 06 - EKOZ

Georgìos: Look, the crowd aren't very happy about that. That was very disappointing, especially for a WV veteran nation.
Lucè: That just had no charm, no effort, no tune. It looked as if he was forced to do it.
Georgìos: Well, let's hope that Arioslavia can bring the atmosphere back up, or then it'll be Mitoland's job. Act seven, here it is...

Belovodye - Slava - 07 - ARIOSLAVIA

Georgìos: Well, that had no good tune to it whatsoever, and nobody was in desire of a patriotic song.
Lucè: Patriotic songs are one thing you should never enter into WV. Still, moving on, it's out turn next! I can't wait to see what Hestava and Senìa, our singers, will have. They tried samba dancing in their postcard.
Georgìos: Let's hope we can bring the mood right back up, this is the moment for Mitoland!

Hestava Mojâ and Senìa Distave - Between Us - 08 - MITOLAND

Lucè: That was not disappointing - wow!
Georgìos: Yes, it may have been typically WV, but I think Mitoland has amazed the world - I loved that melody and their voices were amazing - not to be biased or anything...
Lucè: The proof is in the voting - I can't wait! Up next, for act nine, is the nation of Ethane...

Kristian Dowling - Nothing Wrong - 09 - ETHANE

Georgìos: Really? Since when did these ever have a chance of getting something other than nil points?
Lucè: I really don't know. That was just borderline boring. NEXT! Act ten - Kyzyl Khan 8 is representing New Tuva SSR, what will they come up with?

Kyzyl Khan 8 - Pumpkin Spice - 10 - NEW TUVA SSR

Georgìos: It's just that pumpkin spice!
Lucè: That song is now going around the head of billions of people - it's a shame that it was nearly right after our nation. I think that Mitoland will be awarding points to them, although they have ruined our feel to the WV...
Georgìos: Next up, Robert Gilmore is singing a tune for Mister X... I'm really not sure how this will go!

Robert Gilmore - Kill You All - 11 - MISTER X

Lucè: Not sure I liked the lyrics, and the song had too much of an 80s feel to it. We need to move on from those times - WV should be moving forward.
Georgìos - Kill us all? Don't like the sound of that, just like I don't like the sound of that song.
Lucè: Volusca Primj will be represented by Anica Vastreascjo, and she will sing Just Tonight. Here is their postcard...

Anica Vastreascjo - Just Tonight - 12 - VOLUSCA PRIMJ

Georgìos: That was very refreshing - the whole thing was trendy, Anica had a stupendous voice and that melody and that beat... just so good! A great contender, hopefully Mitoland will award points to this.
Lucè: Yup, and coming up are some brilliant acts. Fourteen will be Electrum's. This year, what would've been act thirteen is actually act fourteen, as one of the band members of this following band suffers from fear of the number 13.

Will Gray and Co. - Your Reply - 14 - ELECTRUM

Georgìos: That was (censored). It's like Vengaboys meeting Peppa Pig, that tune. Not to mention, I have no idea what this song meant - I think it was some kind of love, but I'm not sure.
Lucè: I'm just thinking... Vengapigs... just no. No.
Georgìos: Time for a quick break now, while some interviews take place in the Green Room with the representatives. Thank you for watching this - the acts will resume in half an hour!

Mid-time interviews acts 1-14

Lucè: Overall, I'm not 100% sure that everyone like Mitoland's entry, but I think it could be an unexpected winner - to be honest, most people either find it nice or find it terrible. Like Marmite.
Georgìos: Ugh, that Electrum song was just going too far. Please take that sound away with song 15.

Karolina Rabbani - Kepergianmu (Your Departure) - 15 - ANTAHBRANTAHSTAN

Lucè: Wow! You could really feel that emotion being conveyed through the song and her voice... just wow... I hate to say it, but this could be a better version of our song.
Georgìos: The crowd certainly agree with that - oh no. But moving on, let's see song sixteen, called Looking Out for Ya by Zekso. It's representing Estogium.

Zekso - Looking Out for Ya - 16 - ESTOGIUM

Lucè: A nice upbeat number from Estogium, can't wait to see how nations vote on that - people either love it or hate it.
Georgìos: Me too, Lu. Up next, is Niltche Eriksen representing Aloquirbe. Here is an image of him posing for a pic.
Lucè: What a tiger!
Georgìos: Well, it's a coincidence that the caption describes him as a tiger too...

Niltche Eriksen - Our Right, Unite - 17 - ALOQUIRBE

Georgìos: I think the whole world is in agreement that the song would have been better sung by Elouisa. Niltche had everything except musical ability there. And that matters. How has he achieved three Christmas #1s?
Lucè: But the tune was good.
Georgìos: Yeah.
Lucè: Next is Normandy & Picardy. Here we go...

Desmat - Fools - 18 - NORMANDY & PICARDY

Georgìos: Desmat think that was cinematic. It wasn't. It's trying to be more than it can - it just sounded heavy and dreary. Ever heard the expression 'more is less', Desmat?
Lucè: I have to agree there, Geo. Let's see if act 19 cam cheer us up...
Georgìos: Hope it can!

Sun Brigade - Naştere şi cuceri (Rise and Conquer) - 19 - BLOODBATH GENERATION

Lucè: Those lyrics just do not go with that tune.
Georgìos: And the lyrics were brilliant, just it was completely the worng tune! Totally agreed, Lu!
Lucè: Up next, a song with no tune, I wonder how this will do in the voting.

Operator - Fight On - 20 - OISINISTAN

Georgìos: Nobody was expecting an a-cappella song. I found it somewhat boring. Should get lost in the voting.
Lucè: Well, WV's 20th act seems to be a place to have a break. Let's check on the Green Room where acts 14-20 will be interviewed...

Interviews act 15-20

Georgìos: We have Izmedu's song in store for you up next...

Nema Minorca & Konstanca Vrebac - Hearts of Iron - 21 - IZMEDU

Lucè: You can tell how much effort Nema and Konstanca have put into this cinematic track; they used the best of their voices and a powerful track. If you combine them, what do you get? That song.
Georgìos: Yes, Lu, and I fear it might be the one that takes our points away...
Lucè: Nope, our act wasn't actually too bad. Actually, we say it's our best act ever, others can't make sense of that. However, if our act was completely rubbish, it'd still be the best, because it's our first. It's a trick to entice, I think.
Georgìos: That's quite clever! Up next, though, Bonestock will represent Kalosia.

Bonestock - Together Forever - 22 - KALOSIA

Lucè: That sounds all too familiar. So typically WV, that it gets boring.
Georgìos: And look at the crowd. Booing and hissing. I'm unimpressed as well.
Lucè: So, for act 23 (which will hopefully lift the mood here) Electrum Diplomatic Offices are doing their thingy thing.
Georgìos: Yeah, their thingy thing. Totally makes sense. Start the postcard...

Gertrude Pullman - Juicy Ass - 23 - ELECTUM DIPLOMATIC OFFICES

Lucè: Ah, Gertrude Pullman's back.
Georgìos: And she's singing about juicy asses
Lucè: Quick, show act 24 before I throw up!

Renée - I Prayed - 24 - THE SARIAN

Lucè: It's not bad. The song is pretty clever, the lyrics are quite nice, but... hanging from the stage? Just no.
Georgìos: It's not bad, but not great either. It makes me feel no emotion whatsoever.
Lucè: So let's try and give you something to feel with act 25.
Georgìos: Yes, we're getting into the later stages of the night. Act 25 marks at least the 3/4 point normally.

DISQUALIFIED - BOLGE ARAZI

Georgìos: Er... let's swiftly move on.
Lucè: And now, the representatives for acts 21-24 will be interviewed while we have a break. The voting now opens, however it is recommended that you see all acts first.
Georgìos: To vote, call 3781 and add the act number afterwards.
Lucè: Or you can text WIN to 3781 followed by the act number you loved afterwards. Remember - you can only vote once.
Georgìos: If you want Polkopia to add to their successful WorldVision heritage with a win tonight, call 378101.
Lucè: If the act of the host was the one you loved most, call 378102.
Georgìos: If The Sword Bloke had you blown away, call 378103.
Lucè: If Owner-osity owned you with their act, call 378104.
Georgìos: If Brittanny would win in your dreams, call 378105.
Lucè: If you wanted Ekoz to win from the beginning, call 378106.
Georgìos: If Arioslavia was your favourite act, call 378107.
Lucè: You cannot vote for Mitoland, if a Mitolian phone number has called or texted 378108, your vote will NOT count.
Georgìos: If Ethane's song had you on cloud nine, call 378109!
Lucè: If you want a little more pumpkin spice in your life, call 378110.
Georgìos: If Robert Gilmore killed you all with your love of his act, call 378111.
Lucè: If you want Volusca Primj to have the glory just tonight, call 378112.
Georgìos: If you were electrified by Electrum in amazement, call 378114.
Lucè: If Antahbrantahstan is the country you want to win, call 378115.
Georgìos: If you think Estogium's Zekso was zeksy, call 378116.
Lucè: If you want to give Aloquirbe their right to win, call 378117.
Georgìos: If you think Normandy & Picardy reigned over the fools, call 378118.
Lucè: If Bloodbath Generation sealed your vote, call 378119.
Georgìos: If you want Oisinistan to fight on and win WorldVision 44, call 378120.
Lucè: If Izmedu's was your favourite entry, call 378121.
Georgìos: If you want Kalosia and a WV44 win to be together forever, call 378122.
Lucè: If you were impressed by Gertrude's juicy ass, call 378123.
Georgìos: If you're praying that The Sarian is going to win, call 378124.
Lucè: Bolge Arazi has unfortunately been disqualified for secret reasons, so any votes towards 378125 will count towards the next act, by Adab. Do not call 378129, that is the number for the British embassy! This could land you in huge trouble.
Georgìos: The final acts are coming soon, see you in 15 minutes!

Interviews 21-24

Lucè: Up next - the number of the act has been changed to 25 now.

Kinan al-Salaman - The Soul Laments - 25 - ADAB
Georgìos: Although that song was what we needed, and the lyrics were good, we do NOT live in 1966. Let us spool forward to fifty years after that.
Lucè: And the crowd are completely silent - they don't love it, don't hate it. Just like I feel. Call 378125 if your soul laments all the others but you love this.
Georgìos: Next is something just as gentle to soothe your mind. Act 26, here it is.

Panseline - Life Goes On and On (Day by Day) - 26 - LYMANTATIA

Lucè: Can I just check with you, Geo, that we are in 2016?
Georgìos: We most certainly are. Why?
Lucè: Because this is the second song in a row that sounds like it's from the middle of the 60s.
Georgìos: And these lyrics were awful. So repetitive (chorus played 5 times) and the two verses have meaningless lyrics. At least with Pumpkin Spice the tune was at least good and up to date.
Lucè: I know none of you are going to do this (please don't) but call 378126 to see Lymantatia win.
Georgìos: Now let's take that bad taste away from our ears and start act 27.

Henrik Lang & Gabija Yamaguchi - Set Us Free - 27 - TODLICHEBUJOKU
Lucè: That was beautiful, although it was somehow boring as well.
Georgìos: True, I didn't know what to feel.
Lucè: If you liked that act the best, call 378127. Up next, act 28 which is the last act of the show...

The Sunny Sunny Girls - (It's Okay, Because) I Believe - 28 - KASANOVA-KORATICA

Georgìos: This is possibly the worst edition of WV I've ever watched, and I've watched this since I was a child. This act just made it worse.
Lucè: Combining eroticism with religiousness is not going to go well. Especially not in WorldVision.
Georgìos: I completely agree. Oh, and adding to what I said earlier, Mitoland's is one of the only decent acts here, making it a brilliant contest to debut in!
Lucè: Well if you believe in this act, call 378128. And that completes the acts of this WorldVision! It was a pleasure to be the first commentators to represent Mitoland!
Georgìos: The current top ten trending hashtags on the WorldVision Tweeter page currently are:
10. #SunnyOrRainy?
9. #WorldVision44
8. #WorstWVEver
7. #GeorgìosAndLucè
6. #DarkHorseMitoland?
5. #MurderOnStage
4. #GetOutGertrude
3. #DouzePointsPolkopia
2. #WotJustHappened
1. #LetsBanShopOwner

Lucè: I'm pretty interested in number 6 there, it suggests that Mitoland may be a dark horse!
Georgìos: Maybe we could seal a win! Who knows?
Lucè: Well, we're nearing the very end of the performance stage of WorldVision, the results will be announced soon!
Georgìos: And remember to vote by calling 3781 followed by the act number, or text WIN to that same number of whoever you want to win.
Lucè: Alternatively, you can vote via the app! Follow the instructions on the voting interface there.
Georgìos: The voting will remain open for exactly ten minutes from NOW! The voting will end once the results commence! While the voting happens, the acts 25-28 will be interviewed!
Lucè: Good luck Mitoland! We're revealing the results first! But now, just before the results commence, there will be a lovely interval act!

Interval Act

Georgìos: I have to say, I enjoyed the interval act even more than the opening!
Lucè: Me too, although the only thing it could've improved on would be to make it a bit less, you know, okay, it's perfect.
Georgìos: No way! Lu just said something was perfect!
Lucè: It would only last for 35 years. Now let the results COMMENCE!!

(Suddenly, the MBO falls off air accidentally for the first time since 2007. WV has to be paused)

Georgìos: Sorry about that, it wasn't your TV box! It was the main broadcasting system: it was struck by lightning. All systems have been temporarily moved to the Blakomé Studios.
Lucè: WV was paused for us while we were gone, so now...
Both: LET THE RESULTS COMMENCE!!

DURING RESULTS
Georgìos: Yes, a few points.
Lucè: Maybe we could have a top ten?

After 6 countries revealing
Georgìos: This is preposterous! This is why we never participate in WorldVision!
Lucè: Yup, all the crazy totalitarian communist dictatorships (who normally make up 60% of the countries) vote for the stupid acts. For crying out loud, Gertrude Pullman is doing better than us!
Georgìos: This is no exception. I would advise that Mitoland enters a completely (censored) act next time. If we do, then we would obviously win! I have finally found the formula of WV! I am a genius!

After 10 countries revealing
Lucè: What?!? This is just borderline stupid.
Georgìos: The Sword Bloke has more points than us. EDO do. In fact, a nation who has just got one ten points, would beat us. These people have no taste in music.
Lucè: Next time's act is better than this time's act I think. That means we will do even worse next time.
Georgìos: We haven't got points since the 4th country.

After 17 countries revealing
Lucè: That was an ominous interview with OHJ and Shop Owner. Don't like them.
Georgìos: WERE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO THE PREVIOUS VOTES?
Lucè: Er.... no. Sorry.
Georgìos: WE GOT TWELVE POINTS!!
Lucè: Nah, you're just trying to trick me.
*replays*
Lucè: For crying out loud, we have actually got (I think) 21 points now! That should be enough to not come last. We should aim for 15th-23rd, somewhere like that.

After 18 countries revealing
Both: ANOTHER SEVEN?
Georgìos: Now (I think) we have 28 points. Not bad, I guess for a debutante.

I'm a Libertarian Socialist. That's good.

Current month: December 1994

News of Mitoland this week:
- The government scraps tuition fees for public universities.
- Planned Christmas Day terror attacks on the Marktplatz in Rheine are discovered and foiled. Eight arrests have been made in connection.

Apart from capital punishment, this nation represents 95% of my views. Some NSStats are slightly wrong.

20- Oisinistan (Operator- Fight On)
(no real stage direction, just a blast of light before the chorus)

Verse 1:
It's our fight, and ours for the winning
It's our right, stay strong, survive.
It's our night, prepare for ambushing,
It's our bright futures fighting on.

Pre-Chorus:
When destiny calls,
When your fate calls,
Why wait any longer?
Why wait any longer? (x2)

CHORUS:
When pressure pushes you down,
When you're at death's door,
When your energy is run down,
When you can't take any more,
When your spirit and desire,
Is almost dead and gone,
Just remember when your father said,
'You'll live another day, so fight on'!

VERSE 2:
It's not the end of it all for us
We must keep on fighting til the end

(Prechorus)

(Chorus)

(Chorus with added passion)

WorldVision Coverage with| Réporége pau MondeVis avé|Faþalträssvé Velmendéntøn Tañi Michiel Serven

Hello, Bonjavis, I'm not Marcus Riveron and I'm here in Talvezout, for the 44th WorldVision Song Contest. Yep, they got rid of old misery guts and replaced him with me, Michiel. This is WorldVision, a contest where many nations comes together to share their songs and cultures, all vying to win. Expect a menagerie of different acts, along with some lovely pop "WorldVision" type songs. Just have a free mind and enjoy the nights entertainment, despite all the weird entries we will see. Now, let's see the opening, and what's on offer tonight.

0. Opening Act
As I said, welcome to this spectacular show, tonight presented to us by TRT. Let's see what they give us tonight; I'm sure the BNRT officials here with me will be making notes...

What a brilliant start; big bombastic music coupled with a wonderful performance of the Talvezian creation story, and all done to perfection. It got a little bit weird as the singing begun, but I love that unique, odd and almost awkward (if that's the right word to use) style that Talvezout bring to the play, and it was very avant-garde. Then, we have the wonderful song welcoming us to all that that creation has brought; this contest. Overall, this is the best opening since Ekoz, back in WV40. I can't wait for the acts!

1. Polkopia
Normally, I love the Polkopian entries, and they often do deservedly we. So, you can imagine I was disappointed by this. The lyrics didn't seem as good as usual, and although the music was alright, it wasn't as good as normal. Despite that, I expect this to do well.

2. Talvezout
Dark, mysterious and brilliantly produced. This is a stunning entry from our hosts and one that could see them do very well. Yes, it did begin to drag towards the end but that can be forgiven when you consider the lyrics and the staging. Simply astounding.

3. The Sword Bloke
The music was good, but not much else. These guys always seem to choose excellent tunes but then destroy them with the lyrics and the performance. Also, I preferred the jazz one from last time.

4. Owner-osity
Well, that explains why those limited edition Völmele* cards were fakes. Still, nice to see he's trying to get around every nation. What's not so nice is that it's Shop Owner that's doing it. I've always thought that was a weird name for a ruler... Anyway, the song wasn't that great. Let's move on!

5. Dreamplanet
Well, they pulled out. That could be a good thing, but you never know. For all we know, they could have finally figured out what staging is. Now, we next have our friends, the former colony of Brittanny. Let's see what they bring.

6. Brittanny
That's how you return to the contest! A big, fun entry that should see Sophié do really well. Will she have the sort of night you could only dream about? Who knows? However, this is easily Top 10 material. BTVS should be proud of what they've sent. However, I wonder if the French will effect her chances...

7. Ekoz
Once again we get a slick, well produced entry from probably the most unlucky nation in the contest; they have been 2nd and 3rd so many times. I love the mixture of the traditional and the modern, and I think this is another solid entry. Not everyone seems to agree with me, however. But, I love the music and the performance.

8. Arioslavia
I love ethno-rock, so I should've loved this. However, I sadly didn't. They've done a reverse Normandy; our first three entries took us on a giant trajectory up in quality and results. Arioslavia, meanwhile, have got worse and worse. Sorry, but patriotism isn't my thing, or WorldVision's.

9. Mitoland
At the risk of sounding like Marcus, this is the first dreary pop song of the night. I don't mind pop music, but I don't normally like pop ballads. This was no exception. Typical lyrics with a typical tune; this is nothing special, and should get lost during the voting.

10. Ethane
After the last song, this is much better. However, there is little something that doesn't feel right about it; something with the music I think. The message is good as well, although sometimes I do get annoyed at the same "Accept Everyone!" stuff; don't get me wrong, I agree with it, but once every couple of editions is enough. It's an alright song, really, but nothing special.

11. New Tuva SSR
What...was...that? I don't even know where to begin... The music itself was alright; it's the sort of song that would do well in the Normand charts. But those lyrics... they're a different matter entirely. Let's move on swiftly.

12. Mister X
Once again, a song with brilliant music but abysmal lyrics. I think everyone needs new lyricists. The tune for this song was amazing, and it's better than some of their past stuff, but it was spoilt. Please don't vote for this and let it die the respectable death it deserves.

13. Volusca Primj
Like I said earlier, I like pop music. However, this just didn't click for me. Nevertheless, it is a well done Worldvision type song that will bring in the votes, just not from me. It was okay, but nothing more.

14. Electrum
This was certainly an experimental choice, but I don't know if it worked. This is a truly baffling entry, but at least the lyrics were half decent. I'm very torn about this, and I'll be curious to see how it does in the voting.

15. Antahbrantahstan
I like seeing non-English entries at WorldVision, and this is a good example. It may got lost later on, but it's a lovely little tune that I imagine we could end up giving points to. This certainly isn't going to win, but it's a good debut and if it isn't in the Top 15 then they have been seriously and unfairly wronged.

16. Estogium
Well, it was alright I suppose. Much better than some of the songs tonight, but not a contender to win for me. Rwhitten seems to be a decent language, though at times the English was questionable (grammar wise, anyway). I wouldn't mind these men serenading me, but if they could use a different song for that that would be better. An alright entry, but - as I said - not a winner. Let's see what their brethren in Aloquirbe bring next.

17. Aloquirbe
He certainly has the body, and it's one I could stare at all day... but, this isn't a beauty contest. Unfortunately, he lacks the voice to go with everything else, and overall I was left a little underwhelmed by this. It's a shame really.

Oh, it's us. I remember Desmat from Téol, and this was better than any of their performances on that. They've certainly been putting in the work, that's for sure. From what I've heard from other commentary feeds at the moment, there has been a good reception to the song. We'll have to wait and see, however, if that translates to points.

19. Bloodbath Generation
Ooh, I liked that! Ethno-whatever is always a big yes for me, so obviously this is perfect for me. Also, that language is beautiful, and to be honest I don't mind them not singing in English; they're all foreign languages if they aren't Normand. However, for whatever reason something doesn't feel right or fit, but I can't say what it is. However, I'll be intrigued to see how this does in the vote.

20. Oisinistan
Is there meant to be no music, has there been technical issues or have I lost the plot? Don't answer that! Anyway, acapella doesn't tend to do well...at all...ever.

21. Izmedu
Everyone else seems to love this, but I'm not sold. Yes, as always the staging is absolutely amazing; they are the undisputed masters of staging. And the lyrics... they are so poetic. But the music... I'm just not sure about it. It's a shame really, considering previous acts.

22. Kalosia
Well, this could well take points away from Desmat. However, I thought this was among the many "alright" entries tonight; there hasn't been any brilliant songs since Brittanny and Ekoz. The Kalosian language is absolutely beautiful, and sounds almost like it could be a distant relative of Normand. Sené'ra ace pau Kalosi bene! N'adorale'ga erön mé er aimi'ga**, and nothing more.

23. Electrum Diplomatic Offices
Burn it! Kill it! Someone wipe everyone's minds so we never have to remember this monstrosity existed. As if Gertrude Pullman on stage wasn't bad enough, now she's twerking with La'Trill. I hope this doesn't do well... Don't you dare vote for it at home! Çé ön tazi pau ferémentesse foilles!***

24. The Sarian
Anything is better after that abomination, but this helped soothe me a little. It's not their best entry, but it could still do well. It did sound dated at times, but sometimes that can help as people vote for what's familiar. Will that help this? Who knows?

25. Bolge Azari

26. Adab
I couldn't help but tap along to this lovely little song from Adab, and once again I can see points going there way. Some people might find it boring, but to me this is a lovely song, with interesting lyrics (though at times questionable). The style is, of course, different to your average WorldVision song, so I can see this even doing really well or really badly. Well done Adab!

27. Lymantatia
They do know that they have a stage on which they can perform? Despite that, this seemed like an old-fashioned, slightly dated easy listening type of song, but actually I didn't mind it. It could be because I was surrounded by this type of music when I was younger, or just because I'm slightly mad. It won't do well, unless by a miracle everyone suddenly likes it.

28. Todlichebujoku
Ah, the champion of champions and one of the most successful WV countries. Unfortunately, this entry doesn't live up to that mantle. At the start, it felt almost sickly, for want of a better word. After that, things didn't improve much. Once again, there is no doubt this will do well. But, Todlichebujoku have had better songs not win in the past, so I almost hope this doesn't win. It'll also be interesting to see how this does in WHF.

29. Kasanova-Korotica
I don't...I don't even know how...what?...why?...I have truly seen everything now. I don't know whether to be sick, to dance along or go on a rant about the youth these days, so I think I'll stick to stunned disbelief for the moment. At least they are sticking true to their "unique" style.

*Völmele is a massive game in Normandy and Picardy, sort of a mixture between D&D and Pokemon
** Kalosia's act was good! I didn't love it but I liked it.

21. IZMEDU
NemaMinorca & Konstanca Vrebac - Hearts of Iron

(stop at 4:37)

The plans for the Izmeduan 10th anniversary were laid bare as early as post-WorldVision 41, where RTI were figuring out what to do after the 15th place finish from Koraljka Franic's song, which left a downer ending on an era started by Jolana & Arijana's win in WorldVision 38. Fast-forward to WorldVision 44, where the channel is off the heels of a 2nd place from Poslie Postojanje from the edition prior, a stunning result that builds on top of the excellent result from the WorldVision 42 in what's largely been dubbed as the “Izmeduan Renewal” era, where the nation is hitting its stride musically and also results-wise. As a result, there was a massive amount of attention placed on the WorldVision 44 entry, a small teaser released by RTI only exacerbated this hype earlier as many had hoped for the channel to follow the direction of Poslie Postojanje and Terezija Novak, seeing as RTI had been incredibly coy about their WorldVision 44 plans. The reveal of Marija Jurisic's “Ufanje” along with 10th anniversary of participation celebrations being seen as unnecessary led to a PR disaster of massive proportions. Despite “Ufanje” being considered as superior to the two entries that inspired it and also praised for being in the Izmeduan language, it was deemed by fans, the general public, and music critics alike to be a step down from the Izmeduan entries of WorldVisions 42 and 43. This led to Marija's voluntary withdrawal of her entry, with RTI conducting a behind-the-scenes search for the replacement entry utilizing the criteria from WorldVision 43 as they negotiated with Marija's management.

Thus, Synthpop duo NemaMinorca, consisting of members TI Blazevic and Miran, and baroque/electro pop singer Konstanca Vrebac, were announced with as the new Izmeduan entrants immediately after Marija's withdrawal of her entry. Immediately described as a 'coup' for RTI along with NemaMinorca and Konstanca being critically respected in the Izmeduan underground scene as well as being successful in their niches, a collaboration between the two artists has been clamored by fans for a few years. The road to the WorldVision Song Contest was largely unorthodox, and both artists did not have WorldVision in their radar as submissions were initially closed for the WorldVision 44 cycle, but it was a chance meeting in a studio as the controversy around RTI that led to the idea of collaboration that created “Hearts of Iron.”

NemaMinorca was established in the mid-10s just as the Izmeduan music industry began to take its footing as the dominant entertainment industry, starting off as first as an underground Synthpop band by offering an 'alternative' music choice for Izmeduan listeners as the industry exponentially grew through the years. Initially starting off as a trio betweeen TI Blazevic, Miran, and Novosel, the third of who spearheaded the creation of the group and led them to success within the alternative charts. However, a creative conflict once Nema Minorca began to get popular as their genre was pushed into the limelight saw Novosel break his ties with the group permanently, believing TI Blazevic and Miran for having 'sold out' the trio to major labels as well as developing a sort of 'pop sheen' to the sounds, though the group still remained distinct from the music that dominated the charts. This caused the group to become a duo, causing their success to stagnate despite scoring some deals for them to develop songs for other popular media, such as TV shows, films, etc. Following the recent successes of Poslie Postojanje, NemaMinorca have sought to apply to WorldVision, seeing as TI Blazevic made for an able vocalist and provided the vocals as Miran did most of the production work, but the roadblock of the 10th anniversary forced them to push an idea of their hypothetical WorldVision entry to the backburner, until they met someone with similar goals...

Konstanca Vrebac is that 'someone' that NemaMinorca met, a baroque/electro pop singer who started off as the former, but eventually added electric elements to her music as her career furthered on. At age 23, she's seen as the 'dark horse' and gamechanger of the music industry, someone who makes music that is listenable to pop yet at the same time challenges its conventions, imbuing heavy themes with melodies and sounds that are both intricate yet able to be followed. Her debut album Sacred Ground, released when she was 20, was what put her on the map in regards to her wide acclaim, utilizing sweet melodies as well as her unusually powerful yet equally melodic and dynamic voice to create a pop record with songs that defy normal pop conventions. Sometimes long, with wandering melodies that seemed to hew to a structure, but remaining conventional while trying to experiment with them. While unorthodox, this put Konstanca within the WorldVision radar by many fans, with many believing that, with the right sound and under the right circumstances, she would be able to maintain the recent success of the country. Similarly to NemaMinorca, she decided to make WorldVision 44 the one WorldVision where she would apply to, only to find that the artist selection was closed due to '10th anniversary celebrations...'

This would lead to Konstanca releasing her hypothetical WorldVision demos to the internet for free, and this was how she caught the attention of NemaMinorca, who were also planning something similar. With NemaMinorca having a more concrete idea, a mastered version of their potential entry at hand, the duo showed what would become 'Hearts of Iron' to Konstanca Vrebac. One thing led to another as numbers and details were exchanged, and a week later, Konstanca and NemaMinorca were in the studio together. Seeing as nothing much was on the horizon in the future with the WorldVision 44 entry seeming to be locked into place, the newfound trio saw it fit to have a collaboration to make up for wasted pre-WorldVision promotion. Konstanca had enjoyed the song that NemaMinorca had presented to her, but TI Blazevic's vocals were shaky, as well as Konstanca feeling that the song's form was far too electronic for the 'cinematic' feel to push through. These decisions brought the song closer to its current form, with Konstanca in the vocals as well as an orchestral backdrop for the song.

The moment Marija Jurisic withdrew from the contest before it was known to the public, RTI created a hidden song selection process that mirrored the WorldVision 43 process. This easily made headways through the grapevine of the Izmeduan music industry, and the duo of NemaMinorca and Konstanca Vrebac, seeing this as their lone chance with viable material, sent in a duo of 'Hearts of Iron' to the channel. It was a close call, seeing as RTI searched for entries that were sonically distant from the original WV44 entry, but the duo was chosen for the contest and were fast-tracked all the way to Yaru-Bzheirut in Talvezout, not having much time to promote the entry, but the response in the short amount of time they had was a positive one, especially compared to the prior entry. With the entry being hyped on the names of NemaMinorca and Konstanca along with it being drastically different from Ufanje, “Hearts of Iron” salvaged pre-WorldVision hopes and restored some of its popularity.

This, of course, comes with the weight of expectation. As NemaMinorca and Konstanca waited for the nation's turn, anxiety was abound at how the positive reception was putting a great weight on their shoulders. Expectation began to get stratospheric, but RTI had faith in them, a strong enough faith that allowed them to select the two so close to the contest. This faith in them, despite the immense amount of risk and ridicule if the entry were to fail on the stage and the scoreboard, is what gave NemaMinorca and Konstanca the confidence to succeed.

Only Konstanca would be on the stage, with the contributions of NemaMinorca being made clear through the song's production. She glanced one more look at TI Blazevic and Miran one last time, who both mouthed a good luck and a smile to her. Heaving a sigh, Konstanca walked out onto the stage...

The stage was darkened as Konstanca was situated in the center, a lone spotlight shining on her as the song's electronic backing track was being readied, with the song's orchestral aspects being played live under RTI's request. A 'whirring' sound could be audible as a spotlight began to shine on Konstanca, only revealing a silhouette of her. Then, after a second or two, drum sounds could be heard with flashing lights timed to it, and the song's production kicked in. The entire stage was bathed in an orange, fiery light, rendering Konstanca visible to the audience as her eyes were closed during the song's intro. She was wearing this outfit. The horns of the orchestra boomed through its live sound as the LED panels showed a beautiful city skyline at night being torn apart by fire and brimstone. Glass buildings crackling as the intro put forth an atmosphere of apocalypse.

Faint explosions in the screen were timed to the song's melody, as Konstanca held her head down, standing solemn amongst the virtual destruction. Strategic camera angles were able to show Konstanca's head against the LED panels, her looking forward with a glint of survival and toughness in her eyes. As the instrumental intro ended, with drums going in a rapid face as the horn held a note, caused the LED images on the panes to fizzle and distort until it showed an image of a city's ruins, smoldering in ash as the orange lights faded to a dimmed white, with a strong spotlight on Konstanca. She put the microphone to her mouth and began to sing...

A dying world, eclipsed in darkness
Fading souls, broken minds
That remain unyielding

Konstanca carefully enunciated each word, her unique phrasing drawing each syllable out. The camera made a slow rotation around her as she sang the song's first verse, the smoldering ruins of a city becoming more visible on the screen, accentuating the lyrics as the stage remained bathed in darkness. At the third line, the camera began to zoom out as Konstanca looked at it with a certain gravitas, a determined but weary look in her eyes. She moved forward as she sang, getting ever so closer to the audience but stopping before she got close to the edge. The song quickly transitioned to its chorus, with further drum beats accentuating the movement.

The path of grief is an endless road
Until our last breath

The arena lights erupted in red as Konstanca unleashed her vocals for the chorus, causing a slight echo as the instrumentation and the orchestra became louder. The stage that Konstanca was standing on erupted into a moving whirlpool of color, a mix of reds and oranges that seemed line up and flow upwards into the two columns, making it look like Konstanca was moving upwards as the destroyed city was displayed again on the LED panels, with some of the material from the floor screen seeping into the panels, causing the image to become fuzzy at specific panels.

Transcend the pain
There is no mercy, no joy

The camera maintained a mid-close view of her as she sang the chorus' last half, making sure that the 'stream' on the floor was present simultaneously alongside her. At the third line, Konstanca took a few steps forward, seeming to struggle as the camera made a bird's eye view temporarily to catch her movements defying the screen. At the final line, she bent down slightly with the camera catching her agonized expression, and looking directly at it as she sang 'no joy.'

As soon as the chorus was finished, the stage became blank as the LED panels were replaced with destroyed forestry, filled with dead trees along with smoke flowing around the panels. as she began to make her way towards one of the columns, stopping at one from the audience's right.

Pride, is our fall
Persistence is true power

She sang the second verse's first half as she made her way to the left column, the camera switching to a closer view of her as as she seemed to be singing to someone distant, her eyes wistful and losing their determination, replaced by a feeling of defeat and survival. The camera stopped moving the moment where she sang the second line, where Konstanca found herself at the column. There was a brief orchestral break as a picture of city rubble being consumed by wildlife. She began to move forward as she vocalized slightly, the picture dissolving as she made her way to the right column.

Strengthen your spirit, our end draws nigh
Outlast torment and agony

She stood in front of the column as the camera had a view of her entire body imposed on it, now a picture of an abandoned encampment at dawn, with the sounds of the wind now visible billowing throughout the arena that complemented the vocals and instrumentation. Konstanca held one hand to her chest before extending it outwards, with that free hand fisted looking like it was holding a weapon. With one swoop of the arms after 'agony,' she seemed to command the lights to rotate sideways while transforming into a grim red once again, then fading into a gray when the music softened.

The result vocalizations saw it to be a joint effort between the hidden background singers and Konstanca, with her walking around as the camera maintained a wide view of the stage with the image of a city's ruins on the stage's floor screens instead of the panels. The darkness of the stage accentuated Konstanca standing amongst the rubble on her own as the song began its transition to the bridge.

We must remain extant
In suffering we must endure, we fight on

The LED panels then began to show black and white pictures of various people, looking tattered and weary, as if they were the lone survivors of the apocalypse shown before. The background singers could be seen walking into the stage, staying at a distance behind Konstanca with no spotlight, but the camera, maintaining a mid-range static view of Konstanca as she sang the bridge, her eyes closed with her placing a hand to the microphone in occasion. Her eyes opened for the final words of the bridge, a battle-ready look in her eyes as she sang 'we must endure, we fight on.'

The path of grief is an endless road
Until our last breath
Transcend the pain
There is no mercy, no love

Konstanca put a free hand forward, commanding red lights to go forth onto the audience and fading as if they were actual units. The whirlpool from earlier was back again for the song's finale, moving to the columns with great speed, with this chorus containing a much more stronger horn section as Konstanca put her all in it vocally, moving forth close to the edge of the stage as she defied the whirlpool on stage. At the third line, more people resembling those on the screen could be seen walking, with their pictures fading away on the panels, with the camera emphasizing that they were walking against the floor's effects.

The path of grief is an endless road
Until our last breath
Transcend the pain
There is no mercy, no love

This was where the song carried its instrumental peak, and where Konstanca truly unleashed her vocals and stamina, belting out the lyrics while maintaining control over her pronunciation. The orchestra was at its strongest, playing at a volume that equaled the production and providing a rich sound. For this, Konstanca stayed still as she sang this chorus one last time, with the camera angling itself to make sure the entire contingent behind her was spotted, three rows of 10 people in a straight line. Remaining defiant despite the whirlpool behind them making it seem like they were moving backwards, making it look as if Konstanca was leading people to their survival.

The lights were then replaced by a bright white as the whirlpool slowed down, the destroyed city from earlier reappearing again as Konstanca adlibbed as passionately as she could, bending down slightly and stepping back to make sure she wouldn't fall. Now was the song's finale.

Never falter to weariness

The production maintained its intensity as the smouldering smoke of the destroyed city seemed to permeate the columns and 'erase' the whirlpool and also dominate the panel. Regardless, Konstanca seemed to evoke what the song was saying and stayed determine, willing the contingent behind her to do so as well through her vocals, never looking back.

Never falter to hopelessness

At the instant the song's final line commenced, the arena lights flashed off except for spotlights on Konstanca and the people behind her. The production disappeared as the orchestra took over, the strings and the horn dominating the sounds aside from Konstanca's vocals The camera then pulled a close-up view of her face as she sang the final line with eyes closed, opening as she held out 'hopelessness' for as long as she could.

As her last note was finished, the spotlight on her faded, replaced with a dimmed one that only revealed her shadows. The camera panned out as the orchestra carried out the last seconds of the song, displaying the defiant stand of Konstanca and the rest behind her, their shadows from dimmed lights being the only thing that can be seen on the stage. As the orchestra played its last note, the lights were off and the song was over.

After a moment, the crowd cheered as the lights were turned off, a visibly stunned Konstanca can be seen mouthing a wow before staggering back slightly. The people on the stage began to disperse in order to make sure that there wouldn't be any delays in the show.

“Thank you WorldVision! Thank you Talvezout!” Konstanca shouted as the crowd continued to cheer, and she walked back to the stage.

KALOSIA
Ensam Perteži — Bonestock
"Together Forever", performed in Kalosian to the tune of A Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay

After everything, after everything we’ve been through
In joy and in hardship
After everything, you’re still mine and I’m yours
Our love lives on

Remember when we travelled through Europe?
And we were wanderers
After everything, I hope we’ll be
Together forever

But time is changing because the year has ended
And life passes by
Every day, there will be new challenges
That we must overcome

What will happen to us, to everything?
Will we survive?
In this new year, I hope we’ll be
Together forever
Together forever

After everything, I hope we’ll be
Together forever
In this new year

Kalosia's current economic crisis began during the bidding process of the previous WorldVision Song Contest. Regardless, it did not stop them from hosting and it did not stop them from continuing to bring quality music to the show. On 19 December RTVK announced the band Bonestock as the nation's 22nd entrant at the contest. It is only a coincidence that they were drawn to perform 22nd as well. The band hopes this is a sign of good luck for them.

Now here they were in Yaru-Bzheriut. The band's lead singer (wearing a hat in the picture linked above) was positioned at a piano, while the other 2 members were on the drums and guitar respectively. Everything was pitched black.
Then the song began and all screens and lights flashed white. Afterwards, the floor displayed a grid (lines white, background black, tiles rather big) while on the background was black with white dots - stars - scattered throughout it.

Dëpo tuta, dëpo tuta pasaromt
In leǧia e in sofrenzë
Dëpo tuta, ënkor sej men e sen ten
Nušën amurë vivë

Rikordiz tu kadë vjaǧomt u Evropa?
E nuš’ ežomt vagabondi
Dëpo tuta, spiro nuša ežonom
Ensam perteži

The floor and background screen stayed the same except on the screen there was now an equalizer that moved to the beat. It disappeared as the next part begun.

Ma’l timpo kaña pirže l’anni finit
E’l vitë pasar nuša
Šuaki ǧor, šun teži svidi nueva
Këlo muša sumontom

Kiz arvenën a nuša, a tuta?
Nuš’ survivronomëz?
U anni nueva, spiro ežonom
Ensam perteži
Ensam perteži

The lead singer yelled "come on Talvezout!" as this instrumental part was beginning. The equalizer returned and stayed until the end of the song. But throughout the performance the band hadn't really done anything other than play their instruments, and they will continue to do so for the whole performance, which was coming to an end anyway.

Depo tuta, spiro ežonom
Ensam perteži
U sëtë anni nueva

As the song faded away, so did the background, which faded to black. At the end of the song, all that remained were three spotlights that focused on the band members. The lead singer stood up and said "Thank you Talvezout, thank you Kalosia, have a great year everyone!" and shortly after the three left the stage as it was being cleared and prepared for the next entrant.

23. ELECTRUM DIPLOMATIC OFFICES

Song: "Juicy Ass"
Aritist: Gertrude Pullman and Comptoniqua La'Trill
Tune: Judas (short version) by Lady Gaga

Image
Gertrude Pullman (Electrum Diplomatic Offices) and Comptoniqua La'Trill (Lactatia)

Background
Gertrude Pullman, after an edition break needed to find some way to connect with the youth (more specifically men). Her trouble with men has been documented over the past nine editions or so, but simply put, she's been chasing them to no avail. She's tried a variety of ways to get the young men on her side, but failing each time. Just a few weeks ago, she received an interesting proposition from Lactatian Comptoniqua La'Trill, who is known throughout the multiverse for her fishnet stockings and penchant for finding men. Gertrude, who was desparate, decided to turn away from those morals and embrace the youth, so that she could have a chance in finding that dream man. These are the results of their collaboration.

The two came on stage -- Comptoniqua in her trademark leopard print bra and fishnet stockings, whilst Gertrude Pullman wore athletic clothing, similar to the photo shown above. Immediately when the song started, they started doing some sensual moves, and rubbing their bodies. Then, topless men resembling this person came on stage and started licking the women's bodies.

0:00
Whoa whoa check out our Juicy-asses, Juicy-asses
Whoa whoa check out our Juicy-asses, Juicy-asses
Juicy! Juicy-asses! Juicy! Juicy-asses
Juicy! Juicy-asses! Juicy! L-ick L-ick

Juicy! Juicy-asses! Juicy! Juicy-asses
Juicy! Juicy-asses! Juicy! L-ick L-ick

All of a sudden they start twerking, and more old ladies and Comptoniqua's friends come out and start twerking to. Gertrude is up at front, and her old skin is flabbing from side to side.

0:37
Why don't you take control of my body
I'll work my butt with a twerk if he needs
All to get that young tongue on my skin
Oh won't the young men like us now
Ah oh can't hold much longer, hold much longer
Ah oh urge to lick stronger, urge to lick stronger

Up to the chorus, and two leather-wearing masked men come out with whips. They start inspecting the still-twerking ladies and then they come to the front. Now, all the dancers are assuming the downwards facing dog, but away from the audience, so the audience can see the juicy asses as mentioned in the song.

1:06
We're just a bunch of girls, give us your pearls
But we'll hope you'll love our juicy baby
We're just a bunch of girls, oh baby give your pearls
But we're still a bunch of girls baby

Whoa whoa check out our Juicy-asses, Juicy-asses
Whoa whoa check out our Juicy-asses, Juicy-asses
Juicy! Juicy-asses! Juicy! Juicy-asses
Juicy! Juicy-asses! Juicy! L-ick L-ick

The two main singers stand up and look at the audience, and unclip their bras -- but it's alright, they are fake breasts. Breast milk and gruel come out of cannons behind them and splatter the entire audience. The fake implants also splatter some milk and gruel. They put their bras back on and continue singing.

1:43
Just so you know we're more than asses
We've all got a pair of big cones
Why don't you try her breast milk if you can
Or maybe some gruel from my body

Ah oh can't hold much longer, hold much longer
Ah oh urge to lick stronger, urge to lick stronger

In a reminiscence to previous Gertrude Pullman songs, all of the dancers on stage take out a bag of (fake) pearls and throw them as hard as they can at the audience. The audience now resembles a hot stinking mess of gruel, milk and pearls.

2:11
We're just a bunch of girls, give us your pearls
But we'll hope you'll love our juicy baby
We're just a bunch of girls, oh baby give your pearls
But we're still a bunch of girls baby

Whoa whoa check out our Juicy-asses, Juicy-asses
Whoa whoa check out our Juicy-asses, Juicy-asses

The two topless men with the whips come up to the front of the stage to Comptoniqua and Gertrude. When they both sing the bridge, they are whipped (lightly) by the two men. Finally, the two men pull them upright and start kissing them.

2:55
We'll fly high like a blimp,
You can be my master pimp,
In the bath, in the shower, at your mum's house
Wear our fishnet stockings skimp,
We'll keep at it cause I'm a wimp
And then we'll kiss when you're limp,
I promise we don't have pubic louse

All the young guys, pay attention now and respect your elders
And you know you want to offer your body so make a necklace -- a necklace

In their final, titillating conclusion, strobe lights go on and off as all of the backup dancers strip naked and handcuff each other, whilst slipping on the pearls on stage and being whipped by the men. One of them falls, and like dominos, they all fall (because of the cuffs) into one naked pile. Only Gertrude and Comptoniqua remain.

3:29
We're just a bunch of girls, give us your pearls
But we'll hope you'll love our juicy baby
We're just a bunch of girls, oh baby give your pearls
But we're still a bunch of girls baby

Whoa whoa check out our Juicy-asses, Juicy-asses
Whoa whoa check out our Juicy-asses, Juicy-asses
Juicy! Juicy-asses! Juicy! Juicy-asses
Juicy! Juicy-asses! Juicy! L-ick L-ick

To the rapturous applaud of the audience, Gertrude Pullman and Comptoniqua go for a final hug -- Comptoniqua envelops Gertrude and she get's stuck. Comptoniqua just walks out with Gertrude still attached to her torso.

.:: 24 - The Sarian ::.
.:: Renée - I Prayed ::.

.:: Language(s): English ::.

To the tune of: Madonna - Frozen

Renée hung from the ceiling, the entire stage covered in satin.

Have you always been such a stranger to me
How can you live if your heart can't be free
You're broken
Devoured of all emotion

You live your life running far from regret
Can count on my thumbs all the women you've met
You're broken
Devoured of all emotion

Mmmmmm, every night I prayed
Mmmmmm, you'ld never go away
Mmmmmm, fix your broken heart
Mmmmmm, you are
not free

Rainy night, I'd be glad that you came
One look at you and it fills me with shame
I hurt you
Forgive me, I truly loved you

You were the one, but he was the guy
Was it wrong to want both to be mine
You're broken
Devoured of all emotion

Mmmmmm, every night I prayed
Mmmmmm, you'ld never go away
Mmmmmm, fix your broken heart
Mmmmmm, you are
not free

Have you always been such a stranger to me
How can you live if your heart can't be free
You're broken
Devoured of all emotion

Mmmmmm, every night I prayed
Mmmmmm, you'ld never go away
Mmmmmm, fix your broken heart
Mmmmmm, you are
not free

Mmmmmm, every night I prayed
Mmmmmm, you'ld never go away
Mmmmmm, fix your broken heart
Mmmmmm, you are
not free

Every night I prayed

Hello and welcome to the 44th Edition of the WorldVision Song Contest, I'm Vidian Walters live in Yaru-Bzheriut here in Talvezout, and I think it's going to be a great night tonight; make sure you catch it all across the Sarian National Network - on TV, radio and online.

00 - Opening Act

Bit different from the usual opening acts, but I really liked this. Set us up perfectly for the night ahead, shame you can't award points for the opening act, because this would definitely be in contention for my vote, just a reminder that there is no national voting tonight, there is a crack jury made up of former contestants and music professionals. We have Polkopia starting the festivities next, always a favourite - this should be good.

01 - Polkopia

One word. Beautiful. Beautiful girl, beautiful song, beautiful performance. If people voted with tears, this song would be number one worldwide, and I think it has a great chance of winning here tonight! The bar has been set very high early on; I feel tonight is going to be great!

02 - Talvezout

03 - The Sword Bloke

It wouldn't be WorldVision without the songs by the madmen; they occasionally pick up a few points by I don't think this song will. Nothing compared to the best joke act, Gregoryisgodistan in WorldVision 31, which in my mind is the benchmark for all of these style of entires.

04 - Owner-osity

Really like the tune, but killing people during your act is a sure fire way to lose support; can't see this doing well.

05 - Dreamplanet

06 - Brittanny

There is a big problem with this song - it gives you restless leg syndrome, you can't help but tap your feet! Really catchy, has a great WorldVision sound, think this can do well. Next, we have the return of Ekoz - will it be triumphant?

07 - Ekoz

Wow. Ekoz, from all of us here at SNN, we've missed you. Another great dance track that has been typical of Ekozian entries of late, I dare you to try and get this out of your head. Fun fact, The Sarian has given 39 points to Ekozian entries in the past, I think we'll see a rise in that after this! Can't believe we're only on the seventh song and there has been this many great songs; definitely one of the strongest years of recent years.

08 - Arioslavia

Nothing wrong with being patriotic, but this is WorldVision, so maybe having a wider audience would be more successful. Regardless, quite a beautiful song and might do well in countries with lots of Arioslavian expats.

09 - Mitoland

Reminds me a bit of a Tödlichebujoku song from a previous edition. Think this is the Mitoland debut, and it certainly shows promise, could be a dark horse.

10 - Ethane

11 - New Tuva SSR

Well, there is nothing I love more than a Pumpkin Spiced Latte, except maybe a Gingerbread Latte, so this song is a winner in my eyes - catchy and about one of my favourite things, what else could you ask for?

12 - Mister X

Okay... Wasn't expecting this, really different from the usual WorldVision entry from Mister X, the crowd seemed to love it though, and I think I did too!

13 - Volusca Primj

I absolutely love this! What a hidden gem, what a lovely song, I really hope this does well because I can see this in the charts. Electrum is returning next, Ekoz made a triumphant return, can Electrum do the same?

14 - Electrum

This song is getting a lot of hate, but I really don't mind it. Electrum as a nation has come to epitomise weird Worldvision songs and I think it really adds to the contest. Do I think this will win? No. But do I think it deserves to do badly? Absolutely not.

15 - Antahbrantahstan

16 - Estogium

17 - Aloquirbe

I like the tune, but this is too Top 40 for WorldVision. I don't want to hear songs I hear on the radio, I like finding new things, sorry.

18 - Normandy and Picardy

I'll tell you who the real fools are - people who don't like this song. This has to be one of my favourite songs of the contest, has to be one of the favourites to win tonight; can't see a single person in the audience who didn't love this.

19 - Bloodbath Generation

20 - Oisinistan

21 - Izmedu

Izmedu have a mixed record in WorldVision - 1st in WorldVision 38, 2nd in 43 but they've also been at the bottom end a few times too. Where do I think this one will fall? Well, I think this is their best entry ever. Loved it, loved it, loved it.

22 - Kalosia

One of only a few non-english songs this edition. Slightly annoying tune, sure the lyrics are great, but not being Kalosian I can't understand them. Never know how well Kalosian will do, but I don't think this will be as successful as other entries.

23 - Electrum Diplomatic Offices

24 - The Sarian

Lets be honest, not our best entry ever, but it'll be interesting to see how it does.

Worldvision 44 commentary, brought to you by the PNB, the Polkopian National Broadcaster

Viktor: "Good evening world, my name is Viktor Khassanov, and I'm here today with the lovely Anna Petravona and we're here, yet again, to bring you the Polkopian commentary for the Worldvision Song Contest."

Anna: "Yep. This year, we're in Talvezout, in the city of Yaru-Bzheriut. Quite a lovely city, if you ask me."

Viktor: "Well nobody asked you Anna. We're here for one thing and one thing only - the Worldvision Song Contest! Let's get this show on the road, shall we?"

00. Opening Act
The Creation Of The World

Viktor: "This is a bit weird, isn't it? A bit weird... but I think I like it?"

Anna: "I thought it was absolutely beautiful. Honestly, a very good performance from these folks, and a job well done to the Talvezian broadcaster there. This was marvelous!"

Viktor: "Yeah, I don't think we're used to slower songs to open up the contest, but the TRT did really well here. Kudos to them for trying something new, and doing a fabulous job at it. "

Anna: "Well, now that's all done and over with, it's time for the first nation to perform. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up fo- oh! It's Polkopia! We perform first!"

Viktor: "Hmph. That should prove interesting in the final results. Anyway, yeah, let's see how this one turns out."

01. Polkopia
Justina Vlašic - Death

Viktor: "Honestly, this one wasn't my favorite in the Landa vy Polkopiya, but I never disliked it. Still though, it's alright. A bit different from what we usually send, so I can respect that a bit, but do I think we'll win with this one? No."

Anna: "I liked it! I liked it a lot actually. It's so emotional and super relatable to those who have lost someone in their lives. How could you not love this?"

Viktor: "Because I'm still bitter that A Song To Sing came fourth place in the Landa. ."

Anna: "Get over yourself then. This is a masterpiece! Good luck Justina!"

02. Talvezout
Isobella Bachelor - Undone

Viktor: "What the hell was that? I don't know what I saw, but I think I'm scared"

Anna: "It was intense, sure, but powerful! I liked it!"

Viktor: "I think I liked it too? I'm still trying to figure that out, if I'm to be completely honest here."

Anna: "Well figure it out soon. We're off to the third song. Up next - The Sword Bloke!"

03. The Sword Bloke
Shop Owner + One Hit Jimson - End

Viktor: "Honestly, why do nations like these even bother participating?"

Anna: "What do you mean?"

Viktor: "They're never going to win, and the only people crazy enough to vote for them come from autocratic crazy totalitarian countries who'll also never win. Their songs are always rubbish and they always end up higher place than they deserve. These countries are the reason nobody ever takes this contest seriously and I'm so sick of it."

Anna: "Well... yeah, I can understand that a bit. But it had a nice ring to it, don't you think?"

Viktor: "No."

Anna: "Alright, that's settled then. Next we have Owner-osity."

04. Owner-osity
superCOOLownerBAND - A Million Ways To Know Shop Owner Lives In Your Country

Viktor: "Anna, take me out of this room please. I really can't do this anymore."

Anna: "Oh, you're just being over-dramatic. You have to expect these horrible nations to perform every year. It's part of what makes Worldvision - Worldvision! "

Viktor: "Yeah, but I'd rather not deal with shite like this and just focus on the songs that actually have a chance at winning."

Anna: "Fair enough... I don't care for nations like this either, but there's nothing we can do about it. Might as well suck it up and deal with it."

Viktor: "Easy for you to say, Anna. You've had your share of rubbish songs in the past."

Anna: "..And we're moving on! Next up - Dreamplanet!"

05. Dreamplanet
Ana Sousa - Double Trouble

06. Brittanny
Seven - Alright

Viktor: "Huh. This one's pretty interesting."

Anna: "I kinda like it. I have a feeling it might slip my mind as the night rolls on. The song isn't any good, but the performance saves it, I think."

Viktor: "Have to agree with you there, but the chorus isn't bad. She looks pretty good though, even in a military costume. Not sure what military uniforms have to do with the song though."

Anna: "I think it might have to do with her upbringing. You might want to read a bit on the performers before commenting on them."

Viktor: "Blah! I don't have the time. Besides, you seem well-read enough. I'll leave that sort of thing up to you."

07. Ekoz
Jorge Sollarmann - The Beginning

Viktor: "I like this one a lot! Love the cultural aspect that they have going on. Really like that."

Anna: "Yeah, I like the song a lot, and the singer is charismatic enough, but everything just seems to fit together really well. I think this one might be a contender for first place."

Viktor: "Careful, Anna. We've only just seen the 7th performance. Can't really say who's gonna win and who won't."

Anna: "Oh, so you're saying that The Sword Bloke has an equal chance of winning as this guy?"

Viktor: "Alright, fair enough. In that case, yes, this one has a rather good chance of at least taking a spot in the top 5."

Anna: "Agreed. Well, up next, we have Arioslavia."

08. Arioslavia
Belovodye - Slava

Viktor: "Huh."

Anna: "Huh."

Viktor: "I like the ethnic tune that this one has. It kind of separates it from the rest of the pack, but I don't think it's any more than that."

Anna: "No, not really. I really don't see a patriotic song in Worldvision ever doing well. Kind of like reggae and yodeling. There're just some things you don't do."

Viktor: "No, but even for a patriotic song, it isn't bad. I'd much rather have this than a Gregoryisgodistani song about praising their crazy dictator."

Anna: "Couldn't agree more. Well then, up next we have the nation of Mitoland. This is their debut I believe."

09. Mitoland
Between Us - Hestava Mojâ and Senìa Distave

Viktor: "It's nice and sweet and all, but that's about it. It's very refreshing to have this after the hardcore stuff we had before, but that's about it. It's just a breath of fresh air in my book. Will it do well? Probably not."

Anna: "Yeah, this one is just borderline boring. This would be a great time to use the restroom, I think."

Viktor: "Eh. I don't know about that, persay. For me, it's a great song to do while you're preoccupied with other things and this song is just playing in the background."

Anna: "Preoccupied with other things like using the loo."

Viktor: "No, but seriously, it isn't bad. It's just not great."

Anna: "Well, I guess we'll agree to disagree then. Anyway, it's time for our next act. This is Ethane!"

10. Ethane
TBA - TBA

11. New Tuva SSR
Kyzyl Khan 8 - Pumpkin Spice

Viktor: "Some people use love as an inspiration, others use death. Some even use heartbreak or self-empowerment. Not this fellow. Ladies and gentlemen, this group is using pumpkin spice as his inspiration."

Anna: "I stand corrected. THIS is a good bathroom break song."

Viktor: "I'd have to agree with you on that one. Though I have to say, I'm not sure what this guy has against pumpkin spice. I love a good pumpkin spice flavored beverage every now and then. Really gets me into the fall season."

Anna: "Yep. A shame those beverages are only available in a certain season though. I'd love to have it year-round."

Viktor: "Couldn't agree with you more, Anna. But the song? It's rubbish; something I wouldn't mind losing favor with the public in a few months."

Anna: "More like a few days, but yes, I see your point. Now, next we have Mister X."

12. Mister X
Robert Gilmore - Kill You All

Viktor: "Oh joy, another song about killing people."

Anna: "This is starting to get old really fast."

Viktor: "Next edition, I'm going to try and petition the PNB to boycott entries like this so they don't become available to the viewers at home. Entries like this only waste everybody's time anyway."

Anna: "They'll probably shut down your proposal, but go ahead, give it a shot!."

Viktor: "That I'll do. And folks at home, if you want to go ahead and leave an online signature for the petition, it'll be available on our website after the show."

Anna: "Yes, please, go ahead and sign it. We're at 13 songs now, with Volusca Primj up next.

13. Volusca Primj
Anica Vastreascjo - Just Tonight

Viktor: "Oh this one is nice! I like this one a lot!"

Anna: "Good on a debuting nation for sending one of my favorite songs so far!"

Viktor: "Yeah, I actually like this a lot. I have to admit though, when she first came onstage I almost groaned. She looked rather unkempt. But when she threw off that coat, I was impressed."

Anna: "Oh yeah, costume changes are a real show-stopped now, huh? If you ask me, I'd rather point to the song and lyrics as a reason to like the song, not a simple costume change."

Viktor: "Well, I don't know, I kind of liked it, alright? Now, please, just go ahead and announce the next entry."

Anna: "Electrum."

14. Electrum
Will Gray and Co. - Your Reply

Viktor: "Kind of a hit or miss song, I suppose. It may appeal to some people, while others might hate it. Personally, I don't care for it too much, but it doesn't deserve last place."

Anna: "I actually kind of like it. Has that old-school sort of feel, and I like that a lot."

Viktor: "If I were on some sort of hallucinogen I might like it more, but I'm not. I'm almost completely sober at the moment."

Anna: "Goody for you. But even if you don't care for the song, the lyrics are pretty good. Here, I have a lyric sheet for you."

Viktor: "Lyrics? I couldn't even understand him bu-... hmm... okay, yeah, they're not bad, but that doesn't change my opinion of the song."

Anna: "Fair enough. Next we have Antahbrantahstan."

15. Antahbrantahstan
Will Gray and Co. - Your Reply

Viktor: "Oh this one is quite nice."

Anna: "Yeah, some might call it boring, but I think it's a beautiful song."

Viktor: "Yeah, it's a non-english song, one, and two, she's a lovely girl with a lovely voice. The simplicity of it all works rather well, also. I think I like this one a fair amount."

Anna: "The background is also very nice. Almost has a nostalgic-type feeling to it. Again, no idea what she's singing about, but that might be what she's trying to convey here."

Viktor: "Oh... Well the English parts are rather sad. She might get along well with our representative, eh?"

Anna: "Yeah. It's very emotional and she sings from the heart. Very well done. If you want to vote for this, text the number on your screen followed by 15 for...An... Antahbrantahstan, yeah, that's it."

25. Bolge Arazi
Ofelia del Granado - Electrorama

Tune is Foster The People's Houdini

The stage is brightly lit. Various dancers dressed like magicians and magician's assistants are onstage. There is a three level platform onstage, shaped like a stepped pyramid. Ofelia is sitting on the top of the platform, with two other female dancers sitting next to her. Various lighting poles sit in front of the screen. When the song starts, the screen flashes white in time with the drumbeat.

Rise above, gotta fight that war
You've got to look for what you're searching for
Gather your arms and start to fight
It'll take two to tango tonight, yeah

But when your chains are on and lips locked tight
Nothing can make you compromise
Light turned up, it's time to fight
And yet I want to dissappear

As almost on cue on the dissappear, Ofelia appears not on the platforms but instead with the other platforms. Together they all do a routine in harmony with the song, with it ending with them carrying her.

If kinda bad and you kinda stress
Just pass it by on the reality
Just fight for what you need and you give
It's just a little thing between me and you

But when your chains are on and lips locked tight
Nothing can make you compromise
Light turned up, it's time to fight
And yet I want to dissappear

Ofelia hops off the two dancers carrying her, now continuing the dancing routine. While they are dancing, various spotlights behind the group start flashing, going over the audience and the performers.

(Come up, rise to your ability)
Never know what I could find
Don't know what I'm gonna do when I die
Don't want to compromise

(Come up, rise to your ability)
Never know what I could find
Don't know what I'm gonna do when I die
Don't want to compromise

(Come up, rise to your ability)
Never know what I could find
Don't know what I'm gonna do when I die
Don't want to compromise

Ofelia appears suddenly back on the pyramid stage, with the rest of the dancers around her. They all copy her movements as she sings the final parts of the song.

Come up, rise to your ability
Raise up to your ability
Come up, rise to your ability
Raise up to your ability

Can't find what they want to steal
You got to fight for whatever's real
Can't find what they want to steal
You got to fight for whatever's real

All lights except the screen in the back would turn off, leaving just the flashing background and the silhouettes of the performers. At the end of the song, the lights all turn off; when the house lights came back on they would all be gone.

Gottväll Ekoes , och gottväll till våra online- internationella tittare fran hela värld ! Jo är Marie , och jo kommer att vara din kommentariener för vällens show i den vackra Talvezout!
Good evening Ekoz, and good evening to all of our international viewers watching online from around the world. I am Marie and I will be your commentator for tonight's show in lovely Talvezout!

Tonight, over thirty nation's will compete for the title of champion of the WorldVision Song Contest, isn't it very exciting! Jorge Sollermann represents Ekoz after a very controversial disqualification from last edition's contest, but we won't talk about that! Tonight, our welcoming host's of Talvezout promise a huge spectacle of a show, and from watching yesterdays jury rehearsal, you guys are in for a treat! Before the show begins, I am contractually obliged to tell you that you cannot vote for Jorge, as your vote will not be counted and you may still be charged. Voting opens after every nation has performed. Votes cost 0,65GE, please ask your billpapers permission ex cetera, ex cetera.

Can our bull-herder from Uppsaleia bring home the throphy? He is still number one on the Ekoesestoplistann so hopefully we can finish on the left side of the leaderboard!

Ooh, the lights have gone down! Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the 44th WorldVision Song Contest!

Opening Act

A very different style of opening to what the glitter and campness usually seen for a WorldVision opening act. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed that! The concept, the staging. We're in for a good night if this is anything to go by.

Polkopia

The WorldVision titans once again deliver. Justina has a set of lungs on her doesn't she! Polkopia will once again be in the running for winner of the Contest. I can see this doing very well tonight, and on the Ekoesestoplistann.

Talvezout

That was intense. The build up at the start with the orchestra, very James Bond-esaque. Our hosts have lived up to their opening act and delivered a slick, well produced performance. Judging by the crowds reaction, Isobella must be a very big star in Talvezout. Will we she win? I'm unsure, but the hosts have not let us down!

The Sword Bloke

Surprisingly catchy, however I'm afraid the lyrics aren't tasteful enough for my liking. I can't see this doing very well tonight at all...

Owner-osity

Shout-out to a festival in Ekoz! I wonder what festival he was at, I hope it wasn't Sommarfestivalen; I've been to plenty of those and trust me, I was higher than the clouds for three-days straight...

Britanny

Nice enough. Sophie is a very beautiful woman. Bitch! I'm totally kidding. This song is decent, however I cannot see this winning at all. It seems slightly dated, but that doesn't take away from the Middle-Eastern inspired dancing production! Very nice touch.

Ekoz

Jorge, you've done your country proud! Ekoz has never finished out of the top 10 sinces it's debut, so it's a lot of pressure on Jorge to deliver; I cannot say whether or not Jorge will win; the international media's response has been rather mix, but he's a sexy looking man, they can't take that away from you Jorge!

Arioslavia

Arioslavians are clearly a patriotic bunch. I don't think this is a winner unfortunately, but good on them for showing national pride, Ekoz of all people cannot judge other nations for that. Cough, Milea, Cough.

Mitoland

Might-o-Land, Meet-o-land. I'm not sure how it's pronounced, and I believe it's their debut in the contest if my facts and figures are correct? A nice, country inspired ballad. A decent debut too, and I love that ladies dress! I'm sure we can expect great things from this nation in editions to come!

Ethane

tbc

New Tuva SSR

Another traditional outfit, I guess we all got a traditional outfit memo this edition. I'm unsure about this, I can't see it doing well in the Ekoesestoplistann, but there have been surprise successes in WorldVision, so who knows?

Mister X

What did I just watch? Was this a national final choice? What is going on in Mister X? It seems the once great WorldVision has fallen. How sad.

Volusca Primj

This is fresh and enjoyable after the previous song. Anica is young and stylish, this song would do well in Ekoz. I think this could do well tonight. I believe this is their debut also; the debutante nations are showing some of the veteran nations how to send an entry. Good luck Anica!

Electrum

This is rather different for Electrum, however, this type of music doesn't fare well in dance/EDM-mad Ekoz, so I can't see this faring well with the Ekozian audience, but its nice that Network ENN are up for trying new things.

Antahbrantahstan

tbc

Estogium

tbc

Aloquirbe

Niltce Erikson. Oh My God. I need to get into that mans pants pronto. He is beautiful, he could sing garbage and I'd love it. GIVE ME HIM. Wait, was he even singing?

Normandy & Picardy

It seems the Normand broadcaster is following a similar route to it's previous entry, and it's working. In fact, this is better. Plus, the guys will be an instant hit with the female viewers like my self with a radio-friendly tune that is current. A winning formula possibly? I'm not sure, but it'll be top 10 for sure.

Bloodbath Generation

Worldvision 44 commentary, brought to you by the PNB, the Polkopian National Broadcaster

Viktor: "Welcome back. This is Viktor Khassanov, and I'm here today and Anna Petravona and we're here, yet again, to bring you the Polkopian commentary for the Worldvision Song Contest. We're on the sixteenth song now, and we're just about to hear the entry from Estogium."

16. Estogium
Zekso - Looking out for Ya

Viktor: "Ah, it's always nice to hear the nations' national languages here at Worldvision, isn't it?"

Anna: "Yeah, I have to agree. The song flowed well, I thought, and even though the lyrics were a bit cheap, I still kind of liked it."

Viktor: "Hardly anyone pays much attention to the lyrics though, Anna, if we're to be completely honest. I think this has the potential to do rather well. Top ten finish, if you ask me."

Anna: "We'll see! If you liked this entry, dial the number on your screen followed by the numbers 16. Up next, we have Aloquirbe."

17. Aloquirbe
Niltche Eriksen - Our Right, Unite

Viktor: "Well you can certainly see what audience this nation catered to, eh?"

Anna: "Well I'm not complaining one bit! You meant the female audience, right? Because I'm LOVING this!"

Viktor: "That... and let's just say I won't be surprised if this gets a lot of points from Todlichebujoku."

Anna: "I can see where you're coming from, but the song is really good too, you have to admit."

Viktor: "Yeah... Yeah I have to agree with you. It's a really good song. It'll be tough to pick between these guys and Estogium this year."

Anna: "Why not both? Remember ladies and gentlemen, you can vote as many times as you like, so feel free to vote for both, if you liked them! Up next, we have Desmat from Normany and Picardy."

18. Normandy and Picardy
Desmat - Fools

Viktor: "Twelve points."

Anna: "Eh... More like one or two points, if I'm being generous. The buildup is nice and all, but the chorus is just a major let down. Plus, there's not much of a performance to it."

Viktor: "There doesn't have to be a performance. It's a band. They don't need a performance to deliver a good song, and BNRT knew this. Good on them."

Anna: "... At least the lyrics were good."

Viktor: "If that's the only good thing you have to say about the song, you have major issues, Anna."

Anna: "Okay, well, ignoring that, we're off to the next song. Song number nineteen. Bloodbath Generation."

19. Bloodbath Generation
Sun Brigade- Naştere şi Cuceri

Viktor: "Woah, the voices here are simply astonishing."

Anna: "Yeah, it's a funky song, and I love the language! For you guys at home who may not know - the Polkopian language is derived from Russian, sure, but it has a heavy influence of Romanian. So some of you might be able to understand some of this."

Viktor: "Indeed, and props to them for singing in another language. I've told you all before that I very much appreciate that, and this is no exception. I do like this one a lot. I hope it does well."

Anna: "Yeah, it probably will. A nice, upbeat song with three fantastic female vocalists - what's not to love? That's it for this one. Up next we have the nation of Oisinistan."

20. Oisinistan
Operator- Fight On

Viktor: "Not really much to this one, eh?"

Anna: "Nah, it's nothing special. It'll definitely get lost in the mix, I'm afraid."

Viktor: "Though I do suppose it's motivational to some extent, I can't see myself voting for this one. Maybe I'll listen to it when I'm cleaning my house or something."

Anna: "Good for you. Anywho, up next, we have Izmedu!."

21. Izmedu
Nema Minorca & Konstanca Vrebac - Hearts of Iron

Viktor: "...And the newly-found Worldvision giants of Izmedu strike again with another wonderful song!"

Anna: "Girl, what're you wearing though? It's a fantastic song, yes, but ugh, that outfit is just a no!"

Viktor: "It's not that bad, trust me. But seriously, I can see this one winning. It might not be my absolute favorite of the night, but I will definitely not be upset if this one takes the gold."

Anna: "I have to say, this is one of my favorites of the night too. Very interesting performance and a very solid song. Can't see much wrong with this one... except the outfit of course, but that's no reason this one shouldn't win."

Viktor: "There ya go, Anna. Finally, some sense out of your mouth."

Anna: "Glad you think so. Well moving on, we're up to the next song. This one hails from Kalosia."

22. Kalosia
Ensam Perteži — Bonestock

Viktor: "I like this one too, but it seems as if though the last three songs sound a lot like one another as far as genre goes. Still though, not complaining. It just might not help the countries' place in the final scoreboard."

Anna: "Yeah, it's not as good as the last one, but far better than the one before that. I like it too though. Nice to hear the language thing, one again. "

Viktor: "Yep. Always a sucker for that."

Anna: "As you've already mentioned. Thank you, Victor. Now we're off to The Electrum Diplomatic Offices, but feel free to call them EDO for short. It's a mouthful, I know."

23. Electrum Diplomatic Offices
Gertrude Pullman and Comptoniqua La'Trill - Juicy Ass

Viktor: "Ladies and Gentlemen, we here at the PNB are very sorry for what you have just witnessed here tonight. I don't think that a million apologies can ever make up for this atrocity though."

Anna: "My eyes! Victor! My eyes!"

Viktor: "If I was Catholic, I could sure use some Holy Water and an eyedropper right about now. I need to erase these sins from my eyeballs."

Anna: "Victor help! I think I've gone blind!"

Viktor: "Yes yes, Anna, that's all fine and dandy. You would've thought that being here, we would've been used to this kind of stuff. Nope. Not at all. I can watch Gregoryisgodistan and that crazy tyrant behead people all day, but this is far worse. Don't know if I can stomach these kinds of songs any more."

Anna: "Just make it go away! Please!"

Viktor: "And it's over! We're off to the next song, thank God."

24. The Sarian
Renée - I Prayed

Viktor: "This one is a bit odd - A girl hanging from the ceiling singing the entire song."

Anna: "Not bad, but I wish there was something more to it. Like, if she was doing circus acts or stuff meanwhile, that'd be pretty cool."

Viktor: "Yeah, this one had great potential, and it almost got there, just not quite."

Anna: "Ah well. Still, much better than the last song. Props to them for not sending what EDO did."

Viktor: "I think it'd be better for both of us if you stopped talking about that. But anyway, yes, far better than the last entry. A good entry, but not fantastic."

Anna: "Next up we have Bolge Arazi."

25. Bolge Arazi
Ofelia del Granado - Electrorama

26. Adab
Kinan al-Salaman - The Soul Laments

Viktor: "A bit bland here, I'm afraid. Not the most exciting song from Mr. Al-Salaman."

Anna: "Nah, and the bit at the beginning was a little unnecessary. This one probably won't score too well from some of the nations who like bigger productions."

Viktor: "The performance was alright though. Might have actually saved the song from a bottom 10 finish."

Anna: "I think so too. Definitely better than a lot of songs so far, but for some reason, the terrible songs always end up doing well. This one isn't terrible. It's just decent. And that's the biggest crime in Worldvision."

Viktor: "Right you are, Anna. Still though, I'll look for these guys on the scoreboard. I'll root for them in my own way."

Anna: "Fair enough. Next up - Lymantatia."

27. Lymantatia
Panseline - Life Goes On and On (Day by Day)

Viktor: "Eh, and the infamous Lymantatia are back, I say."

Anna: "Yeah, and they haven't improved at all, unfortunately."

Viktor: "I don't know, this might be a bit better than DANAE, don't you think?"

Anna: "No... Not really. But anyway, next, we have Tödlichebujoku."

28. Tödlichebujoku
Henrik Lang & Gabija Yamaguchi - Set Us Free

Viktor: "Great song, performance, singers, and everything, really. It all seems to flow together really well."

Anna: "Yeah, though the chorus wasn't very fulfilling, the performance was good enough where it didn't really matter. This will do well, I think. What do you think, Viktor?"

Viktor: "Top ten finish definitely. Top five? Possibly, but it'll be close."

Anna: "Yeah, I want this one to do well. The broadcaster sure put enough effort in it where it probably will, but you never know."

Viktor: "Nah, I think this one is a pretty sure spot for a good place. Tödlichebujoku usually does rather well."

Anna: "I hope so. Anyway, we're on to the twenty ninth song of the evening, and it comes from Kasanova-Koratica."

29. Kasanova-Koratica
The Sunny Sunny Girls - (It's Okay, Because) I Believe

Viktor: "..."

Anna: "Ladies and gentlemen, Viktor will not be commenting on this one because he has chosen to use the restroom mid-performance. So therefore, I will be commenting on this one alone."

Viktor: "..."

Anna: "But for those of you watching, yes, it's an extremely grotesque performance and I do apologize for this. Though it's not as horrid as EDO's song, which you'll recall featuring two very unattractive women doing something that they should NOT be doing, it's still very bad."

Viktor: "..."

Anna: "For those theists out there, I hope you all aren't too offended by this... rather offensive performance. It's in bad taste and again, is rather horrid. Thank you."

OOC: Sorry for the late entry, but I've just had a pretty enjoyable holiday over the last few weeks. Happy New Year!
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

26. Adab
"The Soul Laments"
Writer: Kinan al-Salaman
Performer: Kinan al-Salaman

Image
Al-Salaman practicing with his guitar two weeks ago

Tune: Simon & Garfunkel - The Boxer
Language: English

Placing eleventh in WorldVision 43 was already a monumental achievement for a debutant such as Adab, and upon his return to the country Kinan al-Salaman, the singer with the booming, commanding baritenor voice, was greeted with great acclaim and celebrations; his victory notably brought more exposure to the Druze homeland where he and his ancestors had lived for generations, prompting the government to give more attention to that region and start building more infrastructure in a region somewhat neglected over the years. It was for this reason that al-Salaman quickly became regarded by the modern-day Druze faithful as one of their current heroes. Al-Salaman himself was now performing in arenas across the country, a far cry from the small clubs and bars where he first started before entering WorldVision 43. With WorldVision 44 rapidly approaching, the government decided that, when it came to choosing its representative, there would actually be no other choice; the other artists, as great they were, simply could not command the love and acclaim that al-Salaman currently inspired among Adabians of all ages and social backgrounds. His youth appealed to those who were of similar age with him, while his political activism and philanthropy (reports abounded that he was planning to start a foundation in the near future) appealed to those who were older and/or with a similar thinking. The decision was made very quickly: Kinan al-Salaman would return for WorldVision 44. Al-Salaman, having grown to love the WorldVision stage and crowd, gladly approved the decision and immediately started writing his next song for the competition, which was intended to be somewhat more lavish than the one he had for WorldVision 43.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Kinan al-Salaman came onstage with his entourage. From the outset it was made clear to the audience, not in words but through sight, that his performance this time would be more lavish than the previous one; in fact he actually brought with him a band, consisting of: his neighbor's father and his high school sweetheart who had just married another man (strings), an upcoming man that he met on the street and randomly picked for the band (pedal steel guitar), his father (bass harmonica), and a monk-turned-atheist that he met near the Imperial Palace (piccolo trumpet). Al-Salaman himself handled acoustic guitar.

As the band filled the stage and assumed their positions on the background, al-Salaman went forward to check on the microphone and test it. "Get off my back," he hollered into the microphone, prompting laughs from among the audience, especially the Adabians who, like during WorldVision 43, had come all the way here just to watch their favorite singer. "Uh-huh, I'm not for sale, guys." And a few more laughs from the audience came.

"Ah, alright then, enough with the fooling around," al-Salaman smiled. "Anyway, some of you here might remember from the past WorldVision edition. Anyway, for those who either do not know me or have forgotten me, my name is Kinan al-Salaman. Yes, I participated in WorldVision 43 and now my government has sent me back to the stage for WorldVision 44. The stage is a wonderful place for me to be on, so I have no objections whatsoever. In fact, I wrote the song which I would perform here pretty quickly. For me, it's about a war criminal who, having lost the war, is on the run and starts to express remorse over his actions, yet the whole world is now on his trail, and probably no one can save him by now."

The lights slowly faded to nothing. As everything turned dark, a video started playing on the large screen in the background, featuring a man walking on in the middle of a desolate landscape, wrecked by war, under an ominously dark, cloudy sky, as al-Salaman quietly started playing the acoustic guitar.

All my life I've been lookin'
Though my soul is as wretched
As the dark atomic sky
Where a consolation truly cannot save me now
The wind blows through
Still I continue on this eternal march
Though my soul yearns for rest

With no home I can go back to
I am divinely condemned
Scouring the earth a thousand years
For that one everlasting saving
It is gone
Running slow, begging out for a good shelter
Where lonesome peace rests
Looking to touch me
In a solitary moment

Meanwhile, the video in the background showed the man arriving in a village and begging for anyone to shelter him in their house, yet everyone ended up turning him away, fearing that something terrible would happen to them if they gave the man shelter and protection.

Na na na

The drums kicked in, to the wild cheers and applauses of the Adabian entourage in the audience and many others who were watching in the venue.

Na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na

"Applause for the band, will you?" Al-Salaman shouted into the microphone, flailing his right arm backwards at the band with a wide grin before starting his next verse. The audience was more than happy to oblige.

Asking only for salvation
I wander around for it
But the road is closed
Just a reminder of my lost innocence
Gone to time
I do lament
The cruelties of the human heart
But I can say it for me, na na na na na na

"Trumpet solo!" Al-Salaman proclaimed, as the monk-turned-atheist stepped forward a little bit towards the audience, playing with his trumpet fluently as if the melody had come straight from his soul to the entire world. As the audience once again applauded, with some even rising to their feet, al-Salaman stated, "Thank you! We appreciate it! Here's some more na na na!"

Al-Salaman sang only the first three 'na's before stepping backwards and handing over the rest to the audience, only mouthing widely from a few feet behind the microphone in order to guide the crowd. In the background, the commanding, resolute sound of the drums could be heard once again.

Na na na, na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na

"Thank you, people! Once again thank you!" said al-Salaman upon returning to the microphone, as even more people from among the audience rose to their feet to applaud him and the band.

Then I'm putting out my soul to rest
Sheltered by the stars and the grass
Where God's merciful nature
Gives me good solace
Enchanting me
Going home

On the hill lies the criminal
One life regretful
And he slipped quietly away
Where a message leaves us mourning
And lamenting
When regret comes too late
There is no time, there is no time
Stay away from sinful deeds, mmm mmm

The video in the background showed people from a village finding the man lying on a nearby hill, having apparently taken his own life and leaving behind a message in which he detailed his regrets at having committed "countless crimes", after which the video came to an end. The dark meaning of the song suddenly dawned upon more than some in the audience, who were now overtaken by shock and surprise, but still it didn't stop them from singing en masse once again, as asked by al-Salaman: "Alright now, na na na again!"

This time, al-Salaman stepped backwards before it even began, leaving this part entirely to the audience for them to sing and enjoy.

Na na na, na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na

As the audience sang, al-Salaman suddenly made a dash towards the microphone. "Strings incoming!" he said, as that heavenly sound rang across the venue, accompanied by more cheers and applauses, and the now-familiar booming sound of the drums.

Na na na, na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na

"Alright now, friends! It's your time to shine!" al-Salaman shouted, waving at the Adabian entourage on the seats, who immediately rose up and swarmed onto the stage, prompting a large sing-along on the stage. They took turns singing into the microphone, as a gleeful al-Salaman, still holding his acoustic guitar, went off the stage and towards the audience, basking in their love for him and the band. "Oh yeah, the Yaru-Bzheriut Community Choir!"

Na na na, na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na
Na na na, na na na na na na na na na

"I wish we could go on for ten minutes, but my band members are becoming exhausted," said al-Salaman, returning to the stage, as the drums and strings stopped, the sing-along slowly faded, and everyone else onstage left - the band went backstage, but not before everyone acknowledged the audience with either a bow or clapping, while members of the entourage returned to their seats, eventually leaving only the man himself gently playing the acoustic guitar on the stage. When he finally finished, the entire audience rose to their feet for a standing ovation. Al-Salaman bowed, said "thank you" for one last time, and walked backstage.

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.

27. Lymantatia - Life Goes On and On (Day by Day) by Panseline
Melody
Hello, rainy springtide
And he soon came to me astride
Here in April, May and June
I walk by the light of the silver moon
It's eclipsed by a very wide cloud
So to the midnight sky I yell aloud
Now I always believe
Life goes on and on (day by day)
Earth sets by the sun (day by day)
We'll always have fun (day by day)
Life goes on and on and my point will stand that way

Goodbye, gloomy spring night
For you give me near-nought of light
From dusk till dawn, all faith is gone
But there comes a graceful light from a swan
I saw her one day in the river
feeling me as I started to quiver
Now I always believe
Life goes on and on (day by day)
Earth sets by the sun (day by day)
We'll always have fun (day by day)
Life goes on and on and my point will stand that way

Life goes on and on (day by day)
Earth sets by the sun (day by day)
We'll always have fun (day by day)
Life goes on and on and my point will stand that way

Life goes on and on (day by day)
Earth sets by the sun (day by day)
We'll always have fun (day by day)
Life goes on and on and my point will stand that way

Set Us Free

Henrik Lang & Gabija Yamaguchi

This was not the entry that TÖBUK was planning on entering into WorldVision. With a promising rap song in its hands, the broadcaster was preparing to send something new and different for the world to see on stage in Talvezout. Unfortunately, its plan for WV44 crashed when one of the performers had a serious medical emergency, causing work on the entry to halt for an indefinite period of time. With no good backup plan, other than sending in some sort of incredibly vapid dance song or a rules-skirting piece involving one line and a very long instrumental, TÖBUK was left in a very awkward position. Luckily, rival broadcaster SterGo100 offered an olive branch and allowed TÖBUK to enter its World Hit Festival entry into WorldVision. After much deliberation leading to TÖBUK accepting the offer, Henrik Lang and Gabija Yamaguchi arrived in Yaru-Bzheriut for a second round of performance.

Both 18-year-old natives of Blutigenteikei, Henrik Lang and Gabija Yamaguchi both entered the show "Hopeinen Ááni" as teenagers in hopes of being able to pursue their passion of singing. Gabija started out with a background in theater, while Henrik came in with just a few vocal lessons. However, he learned quickly and eventually the two were put together by the producers of the show due to their similar styles. After an initial period of awkwardness, the pair forged a close friendship and became finalists on the show, but didn't end up winning the trophy and prize money. However, they caught the attention of a large portion of the viewership and soon became minor celebrities. With their WHF (and now WV) entry doubling as their first single, much is riding on its success. The two have had much input on the lyrics and performance, with Henrik's part referencing his insecurities during "Hopeinen Ááni" as a relatively untrained singer and Gabija's part referencing her love of plants. With the opportunity to perform in two international song competitions, the pair have gained a second chance to make it big.

A streak of blue zips across the dark stage. Henrik is slowly illuminated on the left side of the stage, facing the left stadium wall away from the stage and the audience, staring intently forward and surrounded by pools of what seems to be blood. His expression softens as he sings
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

This is the morning where I feel I won't cry
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

When evening comes I know I will not die

He looks up, as if addressing the heavens, seemingly on the verge of tears
Smiling toward the sun
All my fears disappear
The rush of the wind, it comes
To open my eyes and allow me to see

He closes his eyes and looks down for a moment, and a faint smile breaks out as he looks back up and opens his eyes. The bloody liquid starts turning into gold
Today makes me feel, so free
The breath of the cooling breeze
And all of it makes me believe
There's so much that can be

He turns and stares directly into the audience exultantly as the lights intensify on him
This is my new beginning
This is my second chance
This is the second wind that can set my new self free
I can see the beauty
I can see the sunlight
I can see the wonders of this shining world around me

Henrik clutches at his heart as he sings passionately, the pools of gold around him glimmering in the light
The sunlight, the starlight, the moonlight, it pierces, the shell that I've become and almost died in
Till I let the sunlight set me free
Till I let the sunlight set me free

The lights fade somewhat on Henrik as Gabija is illuminated, facing away from the audience, toward the stadium wall and surrounded by ash. Initially she is looking down, but then raises her head
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

Last night I looked up to the dazzling stars in the sky
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

And I bathed in their faint, wavering rays of light

She seems to be singing to someone in front of her
It's been so long without the sun
We've been attracted to the raging fire
All that had grown was long gone, devoured by the flames of the fire

She looks toward the back of the stage for a moment, then extends her arms joyfully before her. The ash around her darkens as if wet
So the morning rays of dawn
So unfamiliar, they're unreal
As the night retreats away
I can see paradise return

She turns to the audience, a rapturous expression on her face as the lights intensify on her and the ash sprouts a multitude of tiny green plants
The beauty of the sunlight
Invigorates the earth
The beauty of the sunlight brings new life to the world
You can feel the power
You can feel the life
You can feel the energy of all becoming right

Gabija gestures to the ash and growth around her, which is slowly becoming a knee-high thicket of lush plant life
All these rocks, all this sand, all this water now becomes something greater than all their parts combined
You can watch the sunlight set us free
You can watch the sunlight set us free

The lights brighten again on Henrik, looking out over the audience in a state of euphoria
I feel connected to the stars
Like nothing else, I've felt so fa-a-ar
I can open up to the sky
And I can have no fear, that I might be left undo-o-one

Henrika and Gabija join together and step forward, the background screen and stage lights simulating rays of sunlight
So we embrace the morning sun
And the warming gusts
Like nothing else so fa-a-ar

They each raise a hand up to the ceiling, and let it drop to their side
Our souls can reach up to the stars
Come back down
In freefa-a-a-all

Back to back, they sing with all their joy and passion
We can run, we can leap, we can fly beyond what we thought we could do before this (before this)
Before the sunlight came to set us free
Before the sunlight came to set us free

The lights dim for a moment, then return with full intensity, with the stage's main structure and background screen appearing like a radiant sun. Beautiful, shimmering crystals emerge from Henrik's pools of gold, and Gabija's lush thicket erupts into a riot of colorful blossoms. The two face the audience again, arms outstretched, as if embracing the world
We can run, we can leap, we can fly beyond what we thought we could do before this
Before the sunlight came to set us free
Before the sunlight came to set us free

They stride down the projecting platform, with a stream of gold following Henrik and a trail of petals behind Gabija. When they reach the end of the platform, they stand back to back again, each with one arm stretched out to the audience
Before the sunlight came to set us free

The lights dim until Henrik and Gabija are lit only from below, and then even that source of light disappears. However, the gold and flowers glow faintly in the darkness, reminders of the intense light previously and beacons of hope for the light to come

"Kiitos kaikille!" the two singers shout. "Thank you all so much!" they add, before leaving the stage. The cleanup crew clears away the gold and plants in preparation for the next act.

Commentary from Robert Baxter and Sam Smith on MRX ONE.

Robert: Hello, and welcome to the 44th WorldVision Song Contest, live from, er, Yar-roo-bee-serr-ee-oot, in Talvezout. I am not saying the name of this city again tonight.
Sam: And for the next few hours, Robert and I will be guiding you along to the weird, the wacky, and the wonderful of the contest. My softness rating will guide you along to the songs. There are four sorts of songs: hard, medium, soft and supersoft; that's silver, white, yellow and red - you've gotta think of it as knife, toast, butter and jam as they get softer.
Robert: Right now, we're just going to show an overview of tonight's entries. Dial 9 12 12 from a mobile or 01721 12 12 from a landline then add the number of the country you want to vote for. Right then, the opening act.

OPENING ACT

Sam: This is the problem with modern WorldVision. Everything is too over-the-top, it's not like how it used to be back when we hosted the contest in WV34. It went on too long... and it was a bit... er, screechy. Let's just get on with it. Polkopia up first? OK, wow.

01 POLKOPIA

Robert: Are we still on the opening act?
Sam: No, but yes, another scream-a-thon, wasn't it?
Robert: I didn't like this. But I can see it doing very well. Although she seemed a bit melodramatic to me, it's not really that much of a tear-jerker.
Sam: It was butter on a plate. No pun intended.
Robert: Come on, yes it was.
Sam: OK, it was.
Robert: To vote for song number one, dial 9 12 12 01 from a mobile or 01721 12 12 01 from a landline. Let's move on to Talvezout.

02 TALVEZOUT

Sam: Er...
Robert: No, I really didn't get this either.
Sam: Butter. Add 02. Now get me out of here.

03 THE SWORD BLOKE

Robert: This song isn't an ear-bleeder, or pure madness. It's incredibly annoying. See, with different lyrics, and a different tune, and a different stage performance, it would be perfect.
Sam: So you didn't like the lyrics, the tune, or the performance. Otherwise OK?
Robert: Apart from that it was perfect.
Sam: I thought it was bread.
Robert: And add 03 to vote for it.

04 OWNER-OSITY

Robert: The first half-decent entry tonight.
Sam: Yep, I agree with you. It was a lovely knife. To vote for Owner-osity, add 04.

05 DREAMPLANET

06 BRITTANY

Robert: The only thing I can think of regarding the melody is "oh no, Sonic the Hedgehog's running out of air! Quick, find him a bubble!".
Sam: Brilliant. The song itself?
Robert: I don't know, I was too distracted.
Sam: Luvvy-duvvy song which was, er, OK, but didn't fit the tune. Knife. Add 06.

07 EKOZ

Robert: About 40 seconds into this, someone's obviously gone "IT'S NOT WORLDVISION-Y ENOUGH" and just wrote the next few bars on LSD, evidently.
Sam: That is a perfect example, Ekoz, of how not to do a dance break. Knife.
Robert: Mmmmm. Dial 9 12 12 07 from a mobile or 01721 12 12 07 from a landline.

08 ARIOSLAVIA

Sam: I had to check I hadn't played the music on my phone by mistake during that, it sounded like I'd played a rock song over the top of what was otherwise a decent folk song.
Robert: The rock bits ruined it. I completely agree with you. How soft is it?
Sam: I'm not sure. It's somewhere between bread and knife. I'll pump for bread. Add 08 if you want to vote for, er, this... thing.

09 MITOLAND

Robert: I think it's their debut, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Sam: I'm not too sure. That was OK, but nothing special. If it is their debut, a good place to start if they want to go down that route. But it was stereotypical butter; not my sort of music at all.
Robert: For Mitoland, add 09.

10 ETHANE

11 NEW TUVA SSR

Robert and Sam: COMMUNISTS!! HELP!

12 MISTER X

Robert: It may have taken a bit long to "go off", but when it did... got to be the best melody of the night so far, surely?
Sam: Yep, easily. Not sure about the lyrics, though. Knife.
Robert: Need I remind you? Really? Really? You can't vote for Mister X. But if you have any relatives in New Tuva SSR, then, well, I feel sorry for you, because communists don't allow voting, do they? If you have relatives in, er, Polkopia, ask them to vote for us. Please.
Sam: You picked a country at random there, didn't you?

13 VOLUSCA PRIMJ

Robert: Well, I'm not saying that again.
Sam: Vol... no, me neither. Decent song, though.
Robert: Too repetitive, I thought.
Sam: You're right, to be honest. Too many "tonight"s. Knife is its hardness.
Robert: And add 13. Right then, Electrum!

14 ELECTRUM

Robert: I thought he'd forgotten the lyrics for a moment there...
Sam: Me too. Over a minute of nothingness! I didn't like it.
Robert: I've already forgotten the song.
Sam: I think it was bread. Add 14.

INTERVIEW MIDTIME THINGIE

Robert: For god's sake, get on with it. I didn't like it when Britonisea did this and I don't like it now. Let's just move on to the next song, from... oh for f-

15 ANTAHBRANTAHSTAN

Sam: There it is - I knew we'd get some jam rubbish tonight. Awful.
Robert: Yawn. Add 15.

16 ESTOGIUM

Robert: This is awful.
Sam: Yep, really awful.
Robert: Awfully awful.
Sam: Well, it's a knife. And add 16 if you've taken complete leave of your senses and want to vote for it.
Robert: Shame, the people singing it were kinda hot.
Sam: Robert.... it's 40 years too late for that!

17 ALOQUIRBE

Robert: Hello.
Sam: Oh, don't start... oh god, go outside if you're going to do that!
Robert: Sorry. Be back in a minute. Ohhhhhhh....
Sam: Er, right, anyway, bread.
Robert: I'm back. Add 17.
Sam: Right, my turn. I'll just be out...siiiiiiiiide...

18 NORMANDY AND PICARDY

Robert and Sam: COMMUNISTS!! HELP!

19 BLOODBATH GENERATION

20 OISINISTAN

21 IZMEDU

Robert: Not my cup of tea, unfortunately.
Sam: I could see that winning. But butter from me.
Robert: And add 21 if you want to vote for it.

22 KALOSIA

Sam: I didn't particularly like it, but it's easily between Polkopia, Izmedu, and Kalosia in the voting.
Robert: Not us?
Sam: Hope springs eternal, Baldrick... Anyway, Kalosia was very annoying. And it was bread. Brown bread, in a sense. To vote for this, dial 9 12 12 22 from a mobile or 01721 12 12 22 from a landline.

23 ELECTRUM DIPLOMATIC OFFICES

Robert: Is it too much to ask for one song that will actually be played on my phone after this contest? This was dreadful.
Sam: I completely agree with you. Not even that OK-ish chorus can save it. Knife.
Robert: It's 23 to vote for it.

24 THE SARIAN

Sam: Oh, what a shame, I was really hoping that that would "go off" at some point. I haven't been this disappointed since Shrek 2.
Robert: Yeah... me too. Another lost opportunity.
Sam: Jam, I guess. Add 24. Let's just get to the end now.

25 BOLGE ARAZI

INTERVIEW NO. 2

Robert: RIGHT! THAT'S IT! I'M NOT PUTTING UP WITH THESE INTERVIEWS! PLAY SOME MUSIC OVER THE TOP OF IT, PRODUCER!!

This is played over the interview.

Sam: Hallelujah.

26 ADAB

Robert: Adab? More like A-Drab. That was dull. As. Ditchwater.
Sam: Jam. 26. Move on.

27 LYMANTATIA

Robert: I never thought I'd say this, but thank you, Lymantatia. Thank you. Hallelujah.
Sam: It wasn't perfect, but it was bearable and actually good, particularly the chorus. That's my winner. Bread, but very well done.
Robert: You will vote for Lymantatia. 9 12 12 27 or 01721 12 12 27. Just do it.

28 TODLICHEBUJOKU

Robert: Oh, thank god, it's OK.
Sam: Two in a row! This is madness!
Robert: It even had a key change in it!
Sam: Not as good as Lymantatia, but it's butter, and I want this to come third, behind us and Lymantatia. Add 28.

(It's Okay, Because) I Believe

THE SUNNY SUNNY GIRLS

The Sunny Sunny Girls are a bunch of unsettlingly identical, unusually attractive looking girls with a penchant for praying while "working out" and "sleeping", and wearing absolutely nothing but a chastity belt and a cross pendant. Nobody is exactly sure where they came from, as they sort of just came down from the sky one day. Oh well. Anyway, what you need to know is that they're zealots bent on converting the world; missionaries of a sort, here to satisfy the world's demand for something more wholesome and moralistic. Though for some reason, some countries haven't really warmed up to them. People are strange.

The stage lights up and shows a bunch of flashing religious patterns
Ooh...

The Sunny Sunny Girls stride in confidently, wearing nothing but a matching set of solid gold chastity belts and large gold cross pendants, the rest of their skin open for all to see

[FOOTAGE LOST]

They make a "no" gesture, then a built man wearing nothing but a male chastity belt walks in with a whip, and cracks it at the girls
And he can whip me like a horse and I scream in agony, it's okay
Then I'll tease your wee-wee, make it a big-ee
As long as it's outside me, it's okay

They start sensuously dancing
Ooh...
It's totally okay
Ooh..
Cuz I believe in God

[FOOTAGE LOST]

Ooh...
It's totally okay
Ooh..
Cuz I believe in God
Ooh..
It's totally okay
Ooh...
Cuz I believe in God

One of the Sunny Sunny Girls speaks to the audience as the other two sing the chorus
I believe in God
You tight-laced peeps, this song's for you
Get a little loose, just don't screw
Oh I believe in God
I believe in God

Somehow, the Sunny Sunny Girls are still able to sing as they become a pile of writhing bodies in the middle of the stage
I believe in God

All that the audience can make out from the mass of sweaty bodies on the stage is heads and hands of the Sunny Sunny Girls deep in prayer, and the man's rear sticking out, also clenched in prayer

They don some extremely sheer robes and shout, "THANK YOU TAIL VEE ZOO!!!" and then leave the stage, booties swaying. More than a few audience members get up to visit the restrooms.

OOC: Welcome to Kasanova-Koratica, it can be surprisingly religious apparently

''Good Evening Ethane, welcome to Worldvision 44. Over here in Yaru-Bzheriut, Talezvout, things are starting to get underway for what will be our nation's second ever Worldvision, and I sure can't wait for it. I hope you guys at home are all comfortable and are ready to party tonight, as it is expected to be one thriller of a show tonight. I can assure you, you will not be disappointed by tonight, with stunning visuals, gripping songs, and the climax in the tense voting at the end, everyone is sure to be on the edge of their seats tonight, anxious to see who wins this prestigious international singing competition. We have got the great Kristian to perform for our country tonight, with the same song as that is being used at the World Hit Festival, which will also be broadcast on ENTV. So sit tight, watch the show, don't forget to interact with us on social media, and don't forget to vote for your favourite song once the performances are over.''

0. Opening Act
''That was amazing. They definitely know how to give everyone a great welcome, you can't get much better a start to something like this than that. I must admit, it wasn't the best in the middle, the second song was a bit dull, but that last song really started the show for me. I mean, what a way to introduce all the artists and nations performing tonight. And what a song to do it with. It just set the perfect tone for the whole show. Amazing, this really got me ready for all the nations performances.

1. Justina Vlašic - "Death"- Polkopia
''Well, certainly a very... interesting name, lets see what this song has to offer us''.
A very nice entrance into the song, really sets the tone for the song. I honestly thought the title was going to sum up the song, and it was going to be horrific, but this song really surprised me. The emotional impact of this song is great, and the message the song is trying to portray is shown really well through the use of the tree. This song was really powerful, and sets a difficult bar for the rest of the songs to follow with, this song is definitely up there to be competing for one of the top spots.

2. ISOBELLA BACHELOR - UNDONE- Talvezout
I am liking the way that the singer starts in the audience. That is really effective. Talvezout has gone to all ends to make this a good performance. I mean, this performance by the singer is amazing, and really outstanding, and I really enjoyed watching the singer. I just felt, like... something wasn't quite right about the song. It just didn't really do anything for me, unlike Polkopia's song. This song has the performance going for it sure, I just feel like the song itself is lacking in some way. It's not terrible, it is just missing that top song feeling. I feel like this is going to moderately well, but it isn't in the running for first place.

3. Shop Owner + One Hit Jimson - End- The Sword Bloke
Um, yeah. Well, I can see how a few people might like it, but honestly that song was terrible. I like the tune, but the lyrics just put me off the song and destroyed any sense of worthiness this song had of winning this competition. Don't vote for this one, he does stay true to his word, he will kill you.
*camera cuts off, banging heard followed by a harsh voice saying something incomprehensible to the people at home. The camera comes back on to the the Samuel Partons sitting back on his chair*
Actually on second thoughts, that song was amazing. Everyone should definitely vote for it and make this win worldvision. Also, they should host the next one.

4. superCOOLownerBAND - A Million Ways To Know Shop Owner Lives In Your Country- Owner-osity
OK? This was a song. I um *quickly glances over a door*. You know, this song wasn't half bad. It wasn't as good as the song before it, no, but it is definitely the 2nd best song in the competition *wipes sweat off forehead*. Swiftly moving on...

5. Dreamplanet
Its sad to see what a promising entry this was meant to be, now gone, because of the retiring of the singer before the show. Such a shame. I hope to see them back next time.

6. Dans Mes Rêves (In My Dreams) - Sophié- Brittanny
I know the song is sung in French, but you know, this one makes it work well. I don't actually care that this song is in French, because it is such a good song, that I don't need to know exactly what the words are. And we get provided with a translation anyway. This is such a catchy song. I like it, it should do fairly well. It won't win, I don't think, but it should do fairly well.

7. Jorge Sollarmann - The Beginning- Ekoz
I am in love with this song. Wow? I am honestly lost for words about this song, it just hits the nail right on the head, does what it should do, livens up the audience, stands out from the other songs, and THOSE VISUAL EFFECTS. The visuals were utilised to great effect, there was not much there to improve in all honesty, loved the singer, choreography was there, visuals were great, dancers perfect, amazing atmosphere. This song really got those Ethanian audience members going. This song has to win. Surely. This can't not win. It's just too good. The best song of the night so far, and probably the best song of the night to come as well.

8. Belovodye- Slava- Arioslavia
It's not really there for me. This song had potential, but I feel the artist hasn't really got what it takes at this level. The visuals were amazing, and this is a comment I seem to be making a lot this edition, but this one really wowed me. The story portrayed through the visuals were effective, and portrayed the message well to the audience, it just wasn't the right style of song for a competition like this. It doesn't really appeal to other nations, therefore I don't think this song will be that successful. But sure, one message is clear from this song, if you invade Arioslavia, you are going to pay heavily.

9. Between Us- Hestava Mojâ and Senìa Distave- Mitoland
This song moved me. It is good. I like it. But I don't love it. It's different from the other songs so far, which is good, but I feel it isn't outstanding, and I don't think this song is that memorable, it isn't going to get many votes after the rest of the songs, which will drown this song out. It is good, but it isn't quite where it needs to be to be competitive here. This is a great song for a debut, and is a great start to Mitoland's Worldvision career, but it isn't the truly outstanding song you need as a debutant.

10. Kristian Dowling- Nothing Wrong- Ethane
Well, fairly impressive from our nation this time, a similar style to the one that got us that 12 points last time, that left everyone at home surprised. I guess the selectors at home are trying to use the success as a debutant last year to base the songs on now. Its not enough though. While it is impressive, it hasn't quite got the wow factor that the other songs have. It's a good song, don't get me wrong, and one of my personal favourites, especially with the message being portrayed through the song, but it sure shows that Ethane doesn't quite have the knack that the more experienced nations have. I reckon we'll just miss the top 10 with this song, around 12th place.

11. Pumpkin Spice- Kyzyl Khan 8- New Tuva SSR
What is this song? At the start I was just kind of shocked, but then by the end of the song I was really into it. This song is a dark horse I would say, it has something that makes this song special. It stands out from the others, but it doesn't go so far that it is a bad song. This song really does something which creates a successful song, even though it is something you wouldn't expect to do well. At the start, I thought this would just be a terrible song, but then by the end, it was one of the best songs of the competition. Not expected to win by me, but it could pull a few surprises out the hat. Definitely a song to watch.

12. Robert Gilmore - "Kill You All".- Mister X
Yeah, um. Let's move on swiftly... um yeah..

13. Just Tonight- Anica Vastreascjo- Volusca Primj
It isn't too bad. I personally am not the biggest fan of it myself, but it could get a fairly good position. It is fairly catchy, and the lyrics work well. The singer is good, I must admit, I just feel like it isn't the right song for her. The performance is there, and that is good, its just that, it feels like this song, doesn't have enough substance to it. It feels a bit samey, like it is too similar to a style which many songs on Worldvision use. It is a good song, it just doesn't stand out to me, as a ''this is going to do well'' song.

14. "Your Reply"- Will Gray and Co. (Band)- Electrum
I don't really know about this song. It feels like there is something there, something good, but I feel like there is something holding this song back. I feel like, this song needs something more. Its being limited. It isn't too bad, but it isn't something special either. I'm indifferent about this one. It could surprise me, I just feel like it hasn't quite got what it needs.

15. Karolina Rabbani-Kepergianmu (Your Departure)- ANTAHBRANTAHSTAN
Good, good. I personally like this song. It is a good song. What is holding this song back though is the language barrier. Although I don't see this as a problem, and neither do most Ethanian voters, many nations tend to take a preference to English songs, which is why this song won't do quite as well as it should do.

16. Looking out for Ya- Zekso- Estogium (Baeñen Unionee)
Always providing great songs, I wonder what they have in store for us this time.
They've done it again. They've gone and done it again. What a song. I really love what they have done, combining 2 languages in the song. It really makes this song stand out. This song is where it is at. Estogium never disappoint, and this performance just consolidates their position as one of the all- time favourite nations for Ethanian Worldvision fans. This song has got what it needs, what the people of Ethane want, and it should do well.

17. Our Right, Unite- Niltche Eriksen- Aloquirbe (Baenen Unionee)
What a talented singer. I love this singer. I reckon this song is going to be a big hit in Ethane, knowing what the Ethanian people love. They should be into this. And I think this song is going to do well in Worldvision. It is good, it is very good, and it has all the aspects it needs to make it successful. All we hope here in Ethane is that this artist will be coming on a tour here too.

18. Desmat - Fools- Normandy and Picardy
Love that build up, great and really builds up the song in terms of texture. The lyrics fit to the song well, and it just has that feeling of a hit song. This song has what it needs to do well, but whether it gets right near the top remains to be seen. I reckon this song will place around 8th, but I can't know for sure. We'll just have to wait and see, but this song sure has some of my votes.

19. Sun Brigade- Naştere şi cuceri (Rise and Conquer)- Bloodbath Generation
Loving that beat. The song is good. I must admit that. But the lyrics, there is much to be hated in that department. Any chance they had was destroyed with using the nationalist lyrics in my opinion. They may get some votes, but this is not a top 10 song because of those lyrics. It's got all the ingredients that you need for a hit Worldvision song, it just doesn't provide the right lyrics, which ruins the atmosphere, and loses the needed votes to get to that winning position.

20. Oisinistan (Operator- Fight On)
Meh. Nothing special. It's not terrible, it just hasn't really got anything that wows me. I don't really know what to write for this one...

21. IZMEDU- NemaMinorca & Konstanca Vrebac- Hearts of Iron
Its beautiful. A lot of effort has been put into this song I can tell, and it really has something special to it. It just doesn't quite provide the same thrill of the other entries and their previous songs though. Don't get me wrong, I do like this song, and it is better than our own song, but it isn't quite there for a winning song in my opinion.

22. KALOSIA- Ensam Perteži — Bonestock
Loving this song. The beat works well. The tune works well. The performance works well. I wouldn't mind actually being able to understand what they are saying with a english translation, but apart from that, this song isn't too bad. I reckon about 9th place for this song.

23. Juicy Ass- Gertrude Pullman and Comptoniqua La'Trill- Electrum Diplomatic Offices
The song isn't half bad, I just didn't really want to watch that performance. A bit over the top, I have to say. Well, more than a bit over the top. Lacking because of that.

24. The Sarian- Renée - I Prayed
No. This isn't that song. I'm sorry. But this song just doesn't seem to do it for me. It may collect some votes, but I can't see this song being a title contender at all.

25. Bolge Arazi- Ofelia del Granado - Electrorama
Interesting. A good song, yes. It is not going to win, but it could pick up quite a few points, because it does have some power to it. There is something special about this song, something that makes it right. I am hoping this song will do well, but it probably won't do too well.

26. Adab- "The Soul Laments"- Writer: Kinan al-Salaman- Performer: Kinan al-Salaman
Its ok. A typical Adab entry and should do fairly well. As long as you like 'na na na' then this is a good song, as I feel it is a bit repetitive in that department.

27. Lymantatia - Life Goes On and On (Day by Day) by Panseline
The start sounds like it should be off some sort of smartphone game. That doesn't mean I don't like it. It isn't too bad. Not a winner, but definitely not a loser. Mid- table I reckon.

28. Tödlichebujoku- Set Us Free- Henrik Lang & Gabija Yamaguchi
Yep. Another great entry. Top class. There are a few nations that I always look out for, this is one of them and you can see and hear why from this performance. I mean, what a beautiful song, perfect for the environment, and hits it just where Ethanian fans are going to like it. I can tell you know, choosing between some of these songs is going to be difficult for Ethanian fans, more difficult than WV43.

29. KASANOVA-KORATICA- (It's Okay, Because) I Believe- THE SUNNY SUNNY GIRLS
Um... Song= good. Lets just kinda not mention those, um... lyrics, shall we... um... yeah.

Esportivan and Proud.
<drawk> If the entirety of the nation of Ethane was covered in a single cubic foot of Ethane on its surface, lighting it all on fire would cause a 5.44 megaton blast.
Best WorldVision Finish: 2nd. Best World Cup Finish: Quarter-Finals. Best KPB Rank: 8th. Best WBC Finish: 1st.

THE INTERVAL ACT
A COUNTRYSIDE DREAM - Ü CYDRAMEIE

The orchestra would be playing a rather faint reminiscence of the opening overture at the beginning of the show. The curtain around the stage would now slowly part, revealing what appeared to be several children sitting around an elderly women. It appears that the opening act was in fact the Talvezian creation myth being told by this lady to the children gathered around her, as she would be closing a rather hefty book that she was just reading from. While the children would be talking amongst their own, with them all gradually leaving the stage. The elderly lady would now be left alone onstage; after all of the children were gone, she would shuffle over to a nearby gramophone, put a record on it, and start playing it.

SONG 1

My love, I can now say
I love
My life was sad and lonely
But then you came
And brought a beautiful love to me

She would start smiling when it started playing, and would stand there listening to it for a small bit. After the first verse, she would starts spinning and twirling a bit, dancing to it. Despite her advanced age and rather frumpy appearance, the elderly lady would be gracefully dancing to the song, as if she still had a form of her youthful spark within her. Parts of the thin scarf she was wearing would trail behind her, as she danced like a graceful, but aged ballerina onstage.

My love
The dead heart of mine will beat now
My longing love has been filled now
As it was always meant it to be

The music would stop briefly, as one of the younger children from earlier would come back onstage. She would appear to be no older then eight or nine, and she would be dressed in a similar outfit to the elderly lady. The woman would smile and pick her up, humming and swaying to the song while carrying her. Eventually, the girl would wriggle out of the woman's arm and would pick up a long piece of fabric on the ground, twirling around as in a imitation of the elderly lady; both her and the child would continue seamlessly dancing and spinning to the calm music.

But alas, you came from
The heavens above
Yes, you came along
To deliver my love!

The fabric that both the grandmother and the granddaughter were twirling would get longer and bigger, until it would appear that the two were dancing in a silken fabric forest. A couple would now emerge from the forest of fabric, dancing together as if they were in love. While their dance would be more romantic in nature, the elderly lady and the young girl's would be more playful and graceful.

I have known now
That you are my love
We shall be together, as we know
To deliver our love

The little girl would eventually slow her dancing, as she would appear to become tired and sleepy. The elderly lady would now carry the young girl to her bed, as the fabric forest onstage would gradually clear away. She would out the girl to bed, and turn off the light near her, with all lights in the arena turning off as well. The record would now stop playing, leaving only the sounds of the needle against the vinyl; this noise would lead into the second song.

SONG 2

Various lights would start glowing onstage, transforming the stage from a darkened room to a bustling city. Onstage there would be various buildings and other city paraphernalia lying about; people and the occasional car or bicycle would be scuttling about. A bus bench would sitting in the center of the stage; the little girl from the previous song would be sitting there, wearing a backpack and holding unto a silver circular balloon. There would be a spotlight on her as the drumbeat started for the song.

At 0:43 in the song, what could be described as a giant furry raccoon (think Tortoro, but smaller and more fluffier) would sit next to her. It would be wearing glasses, a tie and a wristwatch; the bench would visibly sag as he sat down, making the young girl lose her balloon. The furry raccoon would quickly grab the balloon before it floated away, giving it to the girl. She would smile for having the balloon back, and would then get on a bus which would arrive shortly after. On the bus, the girl would be sitting again to what appeared to be a smaller version of the animals before, this time in a blue green color.

The bus would quickly stop again, and the creature would get off and start walking towards the audience. The little girl, enthralled by the creature, would follow it through the stage and into the audience. As the creature would seemingly speed up it's walking pace, she would speed up too, until it ended with the girl practically chasing the thing around the arena. As soon as the creature ran back on stage, it would be gone and the little girl would be left alone with the balloon and her backpack. She would be visibly frightened, walking around for a bit before sitting down. Other children would join her onstage, all sitting down and looking confused.

SONG 3

The kids would begin crowding together, as the tones of a music box would start playing. Smoke and fog would start filling the arena, as the lights would gradually increase in severity as well.

The black light has fallen
Daylight is gone to bed
The young ones are sleeping
As you should be my child
My little child

Spouts of fire and flames would start erupting in harmony with the song, visibly frightening the kids. Performers dressed as demons and goblins would start appearing at the farthest edges of the stage, twisting and turning as they made their way to the center of the stage. The kids themselves, armed only with blankets and a couple of pillows, would be gradually forced into the back of the stage.

All the hurt in the world
I'll clean for you
Renewed and protected
I'll watch over you

But I don't know
What will happen next
We know the future
I'll show you the way
Just to bring the light to you

Other performers, now dressed as fairies and other mythical creatures, would start descending from the ceiling of the arena; they would descend upon the demons and goblins, in protection of the kids onstage.

I just did what I had to do

The - dearest - child

You'll have comfort
Right in the eye of your dreams
Just to make it easier on you

Some of the goblins and demons would escape the ensuing battle between the creatures and the demons, and reach the children onstage; however, they too would fight back, throwing pillows and blankets as the part of the stage they were on would rise up.

All the hurt of you world
I know, there's nothing I can do know
You must forge you own way
It's gonna be hard

But if I only could!
Protect you, from that pain!

(Just to make it easier on you)

The final line of the song would continue echoing throughout the audience, as the risen platform the children were on would become the sun; both the mythical creatures and the demons would start retreating, as all of the lights in the arena would gradually dim into a more pleasant intensity.

The girl herself would wake up, having been dreaming the entire time. She would still be laying in bed, with the only thing remaining from her dream being a small doll version of the furry creature. She would look at it, smile, and go back to bed.

As the echoing strains of the song faded out, a spotlight would fade onto the edge of the catwalk. Dressed in a costume similar to the furry creature, Lorenzo would be standing there, slightly mortified and amused.

"Well, that was a rather odd performance. Still, thank you to the Yaruf-Ayem Ballet Company and the San Marcos Children's Choir for their involvement in the interval act. And of course, thank you to all of the nations who have performed in this contest. And now, onto the exciting part: the voting."

She would shed the furry costume, revealing a rather snug, beautiful but simple dress. She would take a seat next to a monitor, with her sitting close to the audience.

"As you all know, you may vote by calling or texting the numbers on your screen when they are shown. You cannot vote for you own nation, as you vote will be disregarded. In addition, the lines have now been closed, so please do not vote anymore or else your vote will be disregarded and you may be charged."

Lorenzo would repeat the above statement in both Talvezian, Spanish, and Arabic. Finally, she would face the camera, saying:

"Now, let's get onto the presentation. TRT has decided to show the votes in a random order, so only the techs backstage know who will vote first. Unfortunately, an error within the broadcast has occurred, and it seems that Mitoland's votes have already been shown. But, for all Mitolanders out there, don't worry. Your votes still count for the overall score, and so you do not need to vote again.

Now finally, Worldvision, are you ready! Let the voting begin!"
