World War II saw the rise of the Hero and it polar opposite, many joined the war as a means to defend their countries from the tyranny of the Axis. Others saw it as a means of letting loose, a sick game of how many Germans and Japs they could kill in a war zone, all in the name of freedom. America saw the Heroes as a means of ending the war, The Nuclear Man was used in the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, if it was a bombing, in truth he was released from the Enola Gay, detonating just above the cities killing thousands in an instant, and many more in the following years. Over in Germany an American who was able to influence minds brought an end to Hitlers reign by driving him to suicide.
After the war many Heroes began establishing names for themselves, some joining forces. The Justice Corps became the biggest of them all, over 100 members and many associates looking to get into their club, as a means of inflating one's ego to god levels. The Corps answered to no one, and would eventually be the reason of their downfall, all of ours.
From the 50s all the way up until the end of the Vietnam War many consider the Age of Heroes. The Corps leading itself to the problems of the world and on the Homefront. But never did they help the clean up, or the lives they destroyed as collateral damage from their battles. They became high on the own superiority believing themselves above the law. But Vietnam became the last straw...several member of the Corps including their Leader, The Patriot committed several act against humanity against the Vietcong and the civilians. They were arrested in '73 charged with various war crimes and crimes against humanity, thus beginning our downfall. By 1975 The Patriot and the 'Hateful' Nine as they were call were sentenced over 100 years in a special prison designed for people with powers, they became trapped with the villains they put inside.
1980 The heroes unaccountability eventually become too much for the US and other countries to handle as relations began to sour between citizen and the Justice Corps which became a shadow of its former self having splintered and eventually was disbanded in April of '81. Then in September 1982 the US Government made Heroes effectively illegal housing them under Vigilantism, many heroes go into hiding others try to live an normal dull life no longer worshiped by those they swore to protect.
2 years have pasted since then crime is at an all high, those that have stayed, face the threat of arrest or killed by government sanction task forces. But even still our numbers are dwindling, over the last two months 3 heroes have been killed, unknown if they was due to the government or someone else. Either way someone is taking us out purposefully though we are heroes no more
Hello and welcome to another superhero RP, one that few others have been suggesting. This is suppose to be a more gritter and darker take on superhero genre not yay we saved the universe, more like you and your kind screwed up the world now you're paying for it.
RIght now its 1985 most heroes are gone the older generation, the new are vigilantes or just people scrutinized and wanted by the government.
