Direct democracy can work in small groups. In countries in modern size, no the population is way to large. Thats also why a libertarian system would never work either. And words like socialism and communism have lost their meaning. Tell me, whats the first thing you think of when I say communism?

Agreed. A society who uses capitalism is in its toddler years, socialism is the teen years then communism is the mature years. Communism is best impletmented in a society that is in its prime, when humans have fully reached its potential, when we have fully used technolagy, and eliminated crime, hunger, poverty, and greed. Then when we dont need a government anymore, it dissolves into a society where everyone is happily equal. That is Communism.

In a sense, yes. Bush was elected in 2004 with around 30% of the voting age population actually voting for him (although he got 51% of the vote, turnout was only 60%ish) Obama was elected in 2012 with only 28%ish of the voting age population actually voting for him.
