"The days of military oppression, forced labor, and unlawful conscription are coming to an end. I have already begun establishing new regulations and limitations for the senate to weed out corruption and ensure that it stands as a clear and unwavering voice of the people. Our military will be re-purposed to protect the people instead of proscribing them.
This new order of rule, this new Dominion, shall be maintained by liberty and justice to the citizens of mankind, those courageous pioneers who have fought through horrors unimaginable to become stewards of this distant end of the universe. Never again will fear, greed, or alien threats force us from our rightful place in the Koprulu sector, or from the sacred human desire for freedom."

The English days of the week are known in Fatatatutti but a seven-day week is not a part of our culture. We have "yesterday", "today" and "tomorrow" but nothing more specific than that. Delivery dates are normally expressed as, "It'll be there when it gets there."

The Shalotte calendar operates on a five-day week. In order, these names are:

  1. Áv Morech
  2. Av Mlenech
  3. Áv Turuk
  4. Áv Gwdlar
  5. Áv Sarthnech

These names have been used, with only slightly differing spellings, for all of Shalotte's recorded history. Their origins and meanings (for outside of referring to a particular day, the words themselves have no real meaning in Hebrédan) are unknown, but they are theorised to refer to the names of ancient deities that were worshipped before the Illuoch-taer ('immortal spirits') took prominence. These could hint at what the now-nameless Saerchan, animistic spirits believed to be 'old gods', may have been known as in the distant past.

We do not use the same calendar or day system and so I have transliterated as closely as our understanding of the words allowed:

Monday: Reithil
Tuesday: Rehalad
Wednesday: Reiladar
Thursday: Refunda
Friday: Reivrin
Saturday: Reiavas
Sunday: Reanor

They are:

Monday: μωνδαγ (måndag)
Tuesday: τιρσδαγ (tirsdag)
Wednesday: ουνσδαγ (ounsdag)
Thursday: τορσδαγ (torsdag)
Friday: φρηιδαγ (fraidag)
Saturday: λøρδαγ (lördag)
Sunday: σøνδαγ (söndag)

As with English, the days of the week are named after the sun, the moon and four Germanic gods. The exception is Saturday, which is not named after the Roman god Saturn but instead is named "wash-day". This comes from the former Viking practice of washing on a Saturday.
