Raider power armor is shit.

Looks super good, though.

Also, would it be necessary to lead my T-60c armour? Even without the lead, the pieces combined have over 1,000 rad resistance.

Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

I leaded mine (T-60b, with an e torso) and still picked up a decent amount of radiation (none from foodstuffs, either—I installed the scrubbers on the helmet). But I also went standing around in a pool of radioactive God only fucking knows what, which set the Geiger counter right the hell off.

Cool. I'm just worried about my meager Fusion Core supply (12-14, I forget the exact amount.) won't last me. But I suppose we'll see. Once I'm ready to depart I'll post what I'm bringing.

That's more than enough fusion cores to get throw the Glowing Sea. As long as you don't sprint you can make those last a very long time.

I started with one that was around 90% charged, and finished with the same one at 30%. Absolutely didn't need those thirty backups.

Do you do a lot of stuff that uses AP? Also, you don't use cores at all while fast travelling. I went and scouted around the south of the map before going into the Sea to find somewhere close I could fast travel to.

I'll also be wearing my Hazmat suit constantly. I have a metric fuckton of Rad-Away and Rad-X stored up since I don't usually use it too often, about thirty of Rad-Away and about fifty Rad-X stored. I'm bringing Valentine with me because I'm lazy and I don't want to bother equipping another follower with radiation protection.

As for Weapons, I'm going to be travelling light, storing the majority of my weaponry back at my old home in Sanctuary. I'll be taking a Minigun, my Fat Man, my trusty Sniper Rifle, Ripper as a sidearm. Since I don't really know what to expect to face there, does anybody have any suggestions as to what else I should bring?

I went with my standard BoS T60b and everything was fine. Brought Danse with me 'cus BoS buddies.

It's nice to have a follower with their own power armour. Later I had Piper use one I made for her and after a few trips into the wild she got most of her armour pieces wrecked.

One I found in a trashcan. Others I got from the BoS. Others I got from machines.

Cleared out all wannabe-Enclave Brotherhood scum aboard the Prydwen while wearing X-01. Pretty sure Maxson shit his pants when I came to knock on his door and expose him for the poser bitch he is. :>

Left with a shit-ton of Brotherhood goodies, too. About 100 pounds over-encumbered with power armor on. Took me a good five minutes to stomp back to the vertibird after filling up Piper. I figured Tinker Tom would atleast drop me off near HQ so I could store my seven Gatling lasers until I could come and collect them later, but no...literally like fifty feet away from the airport and right next to a raider camp. Not to mention the fact that i didn't even get to see very much of the explosion because of his shitty flying!

This is going to be an amazing walk back. In the end, I guess Maxson really did get the last laugh.

Also, Gauss Rifle = instant win. Even without charging up the shots, it cuts through T-60 like paper.

Yeah, like what Franco said, that loadout is really bad for late game areas and the Glowing Sea. The only somewhat decent weapon you have for it is the hunting rifle but that's only good for long range. And even then, it's out performed by a .50 cal hunting rifle like my Riba II.

My loadout for the Glowing Sea (and my current loadout, plus an assault rifle, guass rifle, and the Deliverer) was as follows:

The Ejaculator - heavily modified plasma rifle
  • 133 per-shot damage
  • 227 range
  • 148 accuracy

The Bar-Coder - heavily modified combat rifle
  • 78 (or 88, I can't recall) per-shot damage
  • 191 range
  • 83 accuracy

The Red Rocket * - heavily modified laser rifle
  • 129 per-shot damage
  • 251 range
  • 82 accuracy
* The name is reference to a dog's penis and not the coolant station

Edit: Yeah when it comes to naming my weapons I have the mentality of a USMC Lance Corporal (I named the guass rifle 'The Cum Shot')

Also based off that loadout, I'm assuming your below level 20. In which case I'd way until level 25-ish to go through the Glowing Sea so you can invest in the Rifleman and Commando perks and get tons of extra damage with rifles.

I would if the game gave you the option to name your power armor sets.

Provided, I could just edit the game files, which would be a good opportunity to rename 'Military green' to 'Green Weenie Green'
