So...
Anybody feel like dropping an Orbat in here, so we know what we are looking at? It'd be a shame if someone tries to show up with a dozen 4000 Kilometer Superdestroyers when the RP actually starts.

I'm actually pretty stoked that you've got all these big fancy battle stations in orbit. I've got just the thing for dealing with expensive fixed defenses, and I've been waiting for literally years to play with it.

In any case: ORBAT.

Task Force Chri'irah -- Warmaster Ferinion nos Círdan commanding.

MIV Niernaeth Arnoediad, Bragollach-class battleplate, Warlady Carningortonis nos Fithurin commanding.

Fifth Menelmacari Imperial Fleet, Warmaster Ferinion nos Círdan commanding.
- Approx. 70 assorted warships, with their respective supporting small craft.
- Approx. 20,000 troops, with gravtanks and other assorted vehicles, drones, scarab hives, and so forth.
- 5-10 Vingilot heavy freighters, carrying additional ...supplies... these will arrive later.

Allanean forces will also defer to Lord Ferinion. Additional forces may be committed later, but we don't anticipate this to be required.

Task Force Birrin is composed as follows:

FKS Queen of Allanea, Management Buyout Mark III-class battleplate/assault carrier, Baroness Priscilla Conde, commanding, with orders to report to Ferinion as senior commander.

- Approx. 70 assorted warships, with their respective supporting small craft.
- 26,000 troops (363rd and 670th Mechanized Infantry Division), with semi-gravitic vehicles, drones, techspiders, etc.
- 5-10 Vingilot heavy freighters to assist the Menelmacari operation. These are technically under the authority of the Ministry for Colonial Affairs and have been comandeered by Priscilla.

Okay, so the Imperial Detatchment is easily the Largest here, in Troop Deployment, and deploying just under the combined total of other Intervention factions on the Naval front. When it comes to ships that will actually be in Combat, anyway.

So, while there is, of course, little planning that can be done, since only a few of our nations ICly even know eachother exist, but, lets try and get something started, yeah? Even if its just explaining our opening plans so we all, OOCly, at least, have some idea of what is going on.

The Imperial Forces, working with the Archailect (Aeiouia) Forces, are going to try and take out the Stormwrathian Battlestations, if we can't do that, our Fleets have no chance at getting anywhere near the planet, as said stations, according to AE Celestia, have some Arbitrary Maximum Range.

For the record, if that doesn't do what we hope it does, and since we have no clue what the actual capabilities of those stations are when it comes to Point Defense, it is entirely possible that it won't, I certainly hope the Menelmacari plan is up to scratch, or we will get slaughtered.

The Industrial Coalition has already agreed to provide ships for the Norcourt troops' transportation. Since Norcourt is an MT nation, their forces will likely be deployed to either already controlled areas or to fight Chriiran ground forces, since the Birrin are approximately MT level.

There are at least two committed Bomber Groups (Red and Blue) stationed among the Task Force that can assist in bombarding the enemy starbases. Point Defenses tend to raise hell against bombs and fighters alike, but we're confident that friendlies can help cover the bombers as they descend upon these critical targets.

However, since we are a ripoff of the United Federation of Planets, our initial entry will have little to do with hostile movements. Rather, we will come as explorers, notice that something seems terribly off, and will thus be delayed when we engage the enemy. Judging by the fact that Estruia, one of our important trading partners and a de-facto ally, intends to join the Industrial Coalition, morale will be adversely affected as our people are fond of the Estruians and would hesitate to shoot at them.

Since we love to talk, it is also likely that we'll be very unproductive as combatants, instead insisting on negotiations and discussion while missiles from other parties start careening at other people's ships.

If they can get close, we'll probably need them. We still don't quite know what those 'Zero-Point Point Defenses' are.

Will the mercenaries working for the companies be in the area already? I'd like to know if I should include ships in my deployment or not. Given that they're a ground-based force, any spacecraft they have are going to be primarily transports and would probably not be involved in the fighting unless they're attacked.

Likely not. You might want a light escort for your transports, as they will be arriving probably after the intervention forces arrive but before most of the intervention forces end negotiations with the Coalition. Depending on how long they are willing to wait for Aeiouia, Tinfect might start shooting immediately, but most of the other Chriiran supporters seem willing to start negotiations beforehand.

Okay, here's the semi-official ORBAT for the Industrial Coalition (ORBAT for the Birrin forces to follow, maybe... It being their home planet, they might have an arbitrarily large number of troops). If this seems large (We are fielding more ground units than Tinfect), keep in mind that the Coalition is effectively ruling an entire Venus-sized planet, and is up against a ton of Birrin units.

The units here come from a variety of sources... Some AE Celestia, some Gizmos and Gadgets (and one of those also is in my military factbooks), the Wallensteins are from the Imperial and Federal Union's Export Bureau storefront, the Corvan Starliners are not specifically described anywhere, but they are essentially 3 kilometer FTL cruise ships and only lightly armed, and the rest can be found here:

Negotiations? It's possible, I suppose. Though I'm usually inclined to begin those from a position of strength.

Okay, so here are the basic theaters of war (images and map soon to follow):

Space
The space around Chri-irah is filled with thousands of artificial objects. Most of these are ancient satellites and stations built by the Birrin before the Fall of the first Birrin civilization. Since they have been unused, neglected, and bombarded with radiation for 1000 years, they are completely inoperable and generally regarded as historical junk. The modern Birrin nations have put several dozen satellites and two space stations in orbit. The stations were operated by the now defunct Tenzeni government and a joint Kaybor-Kendi team. Now (And I suppose this is Secret in Character) they are operated by the Industrial Coalition.

The rest of the objects in space are Industrial Coalition owned. The most notable is the defense network of 20 Stormwrathian battlestations, and the rest are various civilian and ex-military ships.

The Kiln
The Equatorial region of Chri-irah consists of a massive desert, where ancient buildings from the Pre-Fall Era and modern shelters abound, and where daytime temperatures averaging 80 degrees Celsius ensure nothing survives without refrigeration technology. This wasteland cuts the planet in half, and is responsible for the North-South divide between Birrin Nations.

The Kiln is inhabited by rebels and outlaws, mostly. The Kaybor Kiln Administration controls the Northern half of the Kiln, and the southern half is administrated by various Chey nations.

Seas
The North and South regions of the planet are home to many large inland seas, which host most of the planet's life. They are also the main mode of transportation between Birrin nations.

Float Forest
Massive mats of vegetation on the Seas provide shelter for life and function as floating islands. The Float Forests are home to most of the Birrin, who dwell in cities built upon these living platforms. The nation of Tenzeni, now administrated by the Industrial Coalition, consists of several Float Forests on the largest southern sea. The Southern Chey nations also host many Float Forest territories, and in the northern hemisphere Kaybor does as well.

Tropical Plains
Nearby, but just outside of, the scorching Kiln lie many regions of solid land, which are cool enough to allow life to flourish. Some of the Southern Chey nations dwell here, though the Industrial Coalition is moving in.

To the North, Kaybor is home to many plains, and indeed most of their nation is built on solid ground.

Arctic
The pole regions are cold, tundra and ice caps. The Northern nation of Kendi inhabits much of the Northern tundra regions, but the southern pole is desolate wasteland.

It's a shame the Imperium doesn't maintain any form of Terrestrial Navy. We could slap a couple Naval PPCs onto a Boat and sit off the Coast wrecking everything.

How much weight do you think those Platforms can hold?
I ask because I want to know if a Grand Praetor would Sink if I tried to deploy one on it.
