Botheus/ Bendahara class OPV

On 01 October 2015, Ministry of Defense, Tongkang Pechah awarded Matsabu Engineering a contract for the design and build of three Bendahara/ Botheus class OPVs. Matsabu Engineering announced that the group’s marine arm, Matsabu Engineering Marine will JV with renown Atok Aerospace of Atok to build the three vessels at their Dermaga Emas site. While the group’s electronics arm, Matsabu Engineering Electronics together with Atokian AtokComm Defense Electronic (ACDE), will supply the core combat systems and combat system integration solutions. Matsabu Engineering Marine will carry out the platform system integration as the lead system integrator.

The Tombak AV44 Rapid Deployment Reconnaissance Vehicle (RDRV) was developed by Industri Pertahanan Kebangsaan-INSPEK (National Defense Industry) and is aimed at satisfying requirements for a light airborne rapid deployment vehicle. The Tombak AV44 is compact, light and performs exceptionally. The design allows for customisation to specific clients' needs and could therefore fulfil the requirements of other special and airborne forces.

The INSPEK Tombak AV44 can be used in various roles including reconnaissance, troop carrier, fire support, light strike actions, light and medium weapons deployment, and casualty evacuation. Although primarily designed to be deployed by air-drop or air landing, the Tombak AV44 can alternatively be deployed over long distances under its own power, or be transported by sea or air freight.

The Tombak AV44 is powered by a Moffart K90V, 2.8l four-cylinder that can develop 100kW at 3,800rpm. The transmission is based on an automatic four-speed Moffart-H400 gear box. The vehicle has a top speed of 116km/h and can carry 60l of fuel and 60l of water under normal operational conditions.

The AV66 Perajurit 6x6 armored personnel carrier was developed by INSPEK (Industri Pertahanan Kebangsaan). The Perajurit can be fitted with interchangeable mission modules. A number of mission modules are proposed. This feature provides multirole flexibility.

This APC offers high level of protection. Hull of this vehicle is welded from steel armor. It provides protection against small arms fire and artillery shell splinters. Add-on armor can be fitted in field conditions for protection against heavy machine gun fire. It seems that active protection system is also available.

The Perajurit has a V-shaped hull for protection against landmines and IED blasts. Vehicle is fitted with automatic suspension system. NBC protection system is optional.

The Perajurit can be armed with various weapons. It supports remotely controlled weapon stations with 7.62-mm or 12.7-mm machine guns, or 40-mm automatic grenade launchers. It is likely that various turret options are available. Alternatively vehicle can be configured to carry anti-tank weapons or 120-mm mortar.

INSPEK KT901 Pioneer

INSPEK KT901 Pioneer 105mm version

The hull of the KT901 is of all-welded aluminium armour to which another layer of appliqué armour has been added, which provides protection against 14.5 mm armour-piercing attack and 155 mm artillery projectiles bursting overhead.

INSPEK also offers an additional armour kit that increases protection through the frontal arc against 30 mm attack. Increased protection is also available against anti-tank weapons with a HEAT warhead, as well as anti-tank mines.
