Irredeemable: Part 4

Xander had gone quiet for a few days. Most of the heroes had either been slaughtered by Xander or were in hiding. He was simply too powerful to take on directly. Some people even began to think that he had left Earth. He hadn't. Rather, he was just thinking about what he was going to do next. He pondered on this in the middle of what used to be Wakanda. There wasn't anything left of it other than piles of rubble and corpses.

SHIELD however, knew full and well where he was. He was outputting so much energy that it would be almost impossible to miss him if you scanned for his signature. And that was while he was just sitting around. They were going to take him down. They had their secret weapon: Manifest. They gave him the designs for weapons based on anti-matter. Highly unstable, and in theory, powerful enough to cause actual damage to Xander. They didn't even try to be subtle. They flew the Helicarrier straight to him. A gambit. They all knew he could have wrecked the Helicarrier ten miles out before they knew they were dead. This was to show that they had the gall to actually ignore the fact that he was the most powerful being on the planet. It paid off. Xander let them land and approached the two men who stepped out of it. "Xander Smith." Said Nick Fury.

"That's my name, don't wear it out." He said and landed in front of them.

"You're under arrest for crimes against humanity. Come quietly and you won't be harmed." As expected, Xander laughed. This was a joke to him. He didn't believe there was anything on the planet that could do any damage worse than a paper cut. "Don't make this hard on yourself."

"Oh... God..." He said finally stopping his laughter. "Ya know. It's been awhile since I laughed that hard." He said and sighed. "Alright. I'll bite. Or what? Seriously. I wanna see what you guys really have." He asked obviously unimpressed with their threat.

"This." Nick replied and gave Manifest the okay to fire at will. He aimed the high tech looking weapon at Xander's center mass and fired. Xander, thinking it was just another energy blaster, put his hand up to block the beam. What happened next he didn't expect. The beam completely eradicated his arm and knocked him back from his body trying to contain that much energy going off at once. The pain distracted him for just long enough for Manifest to turn the heat up and fired again, this time without Xander blocking it, it went straight through his chest. Leaving a gaping hole where his heart used to be. Xander fell to his knees bleeding profusely.

"That's the thing about you all-powerful types. You always underestimate the little guy. I'd say I would miss you. But I'm not that much of a liar." Manifest said, putting the weapon on full blast, and fired one last time. The skin, muscle and all of the meat on Xander's bones was flayed off, leaving nothing more than a charred skeleton. "Good riddance."

Valka asked hopefully, but not expecting an affirmative answer.

"Some? Then let us go greet them, and I shall see if I can call a few more." Valka said, starting to walk towards the main halls.

Suddenly, Simon materialized. Seriously, he appeared from nowhere, staggered about for a bit, and threw up on Valka's feet.

"Urp-oh, hi, Lady Valka! Re-blurg-member me? Oh, your shoes. Lemme fix tha-urg-t." he said, wobbling at the knees, as he flicked his wrist, causing his vomit to disappear.

Still looking up at Mars, Kirisvala listened to his gentle words of gratitude, seeing his face lit up and feeling quite happy that she had managed to brighten up his mood. She smiled again, softer this time, but just as heartfelt as before, and then simply stayed there, leaning on him gently, her pinkish red hair brushing against his neck, though she made quite sure that her horns didn't touch him at all. However, when she felt Mars put his arm around her, it was the young Hadrian's turn to feel flushed. Her cheeks were tinted with a bright shade of red, and as she listened to him speak, hearing him say that she wouldn't have to be alone and that he would be with her, she realized that she was immensely happy to have Mars. "I know." She replied to him with an incredibly soft voice, snuggling closer to him, feeling not just his warmth but also a warmth that was much greater and had invaded her when she felt Mars' arm gently surround her, one that came from within. "Thank you." She finished, closing her eyes and enjoying the moment.

After that, she felt no need to say more. Though she knew that they were on a mission, she just wished they could stay like that for a very long time.

"The stupid one here is not I, if you truly believe that I stand to gain anything from accepting your so-called offer, or if I stand to lose anything for rejecting it." The World-Dragon spoke with disdain, her patience being worn thinner and thinner with each passing second in the presence of this bothersome creature. "If my refusal of your terms is truly irrelevant, then I see no reason why you would have bothered with it in the first place, unless you wish to claim that it was a mercy for me, which is as absurd as the deal that you offer me. If you were truly so convinced that you would be able to invade and devour this plane, with or without my help, then you would not be asking for it, and if I am mistaken, then you are still sorely misguided." The cosmic creator sentenced, and then, simply shook her serpentine horned head. "Now begone, monster. Return to your Queen and your people, and tell them that the World-Dragons have no interest in anything you may have to offer." She growled psionically at the Xyrixma.

Garnet shrugged and took off her mask. "Well, of course I'm worried about you, you dumb fox." She said nonchalantly as she put a hand on Masami's head and then ruffled the Kitsune's silvery hair. "You're a wonderful teammate and besides, we've been through a lot together, haven't we? It would suck if I had to lose you too." She said, a grin on her face even as she said something so grim. She had by now overcome, but not forgotten, the loss of the people close to her that had died ever since she had found the accursed pistol, but the truth was that she had not become very attached to any of them; either they had not lived long enough, or they simply hadn't gotten truly close. This was different, though: she knew she didn't really want to lose Masami, or any of the other goofballs in her squad for that matter, but she had met the female Kitsune first.

Looking towards Taro, Garnet frowned slightly. "We'll probably have to head off to find the evil ghost thing or whatever before meeting Azami again, though. Also, leave the kid alone and he'll probably leave you alone. You may have lived for centuries but that only means that you've long forgotten how touchy teenagers can be." The blonde woman shrugged, before glancing around. She didn't see any of the kidnapped children anywhere nearby.

Still lying on the ground and resting to recover his energy while his body healed itself, patching up the internal wounds sustained during the battle, Akihiko had his eyes half-closed in an attempt to tune out the world and relax. Thus, he was unprevented and could only yelp as the magnetic scabbard that he had hand-made for Kusanagi hit him squarely in the forehead, bouncing off and falling an inch or two away from his head. He immediately stood up, alarmed, wincing slightly and clutching his stomach as a sudden wave of pain washed over him due to his abrupt movement; his injuries had not yet finished patching themselves up. Hearing Akari's insults and complaints, the young half-Oni turned towards her, scowling and glaring fire and brimstone at her.

"I was not moping, you oaf! I was trying to recover!" Akihiko growled at Akari, massively pissed off both at her words and at her actions. "I'm terribly sorry if I'm not in top shape after fighting that enormous blue Oni, but not everyone has the power to overcome their enemies effortlessly, princess, not everyone's as mighty and perfect as you!" He continued, shouting, beginning to hyperventilate in his fury. Part of him, that little part of him that still reasoned at this point, was thoroughly amazed at how a girly Nekomata was causing him an anger exponentially greater than that caused by an Oni. He had gone to great lengths in order to win that battle and ease the burden of the group that had saved him. He had gotten his ass thoroughly kicked while trying to protect a bunch of children from being kidnapped. He had almost lost his sword, had been chained to a wall, and all of that for a good cause. Why, then, did he have to end up stuck with a nosy Kitsune and an insufferable, arrogant Nekomata?

"You-" He began, but was immediately cut off when once again pain flooded his senses. But this time, it was different. It was burning, and it came from within, from his chest, and as his free hand clutched at it, he realized what it was. In his rage, his 'corrupt' blood was getting out of control, and the medallion he wore was suppressing it, causing him a searing pain in the process. He fell to one knee, still glaring at Akari but no longer able to speak, hissing because of the pain, one eye closed shut. The fact that he heard Taro's insult only made things worse for him.

Eternal Night watched the display with keen interest, noting with plenty of surprise that the glow that the Herald possessed bordered the ineffable. Nonetheless, the blonde woman was entirely undeterred, and continued observing, hearing out the ominous prophecy intoned by the alternuniversal Watcher's many voices. However, bearing the mild apathy of a creature whose age is far longer than it should have ever been, and especially that apathy that was characteristic of those who had long given up their names for a greater cause, Eternal Night thought nothing of it.

"I know nothing of any 'False Oblivion', just as I knew nothing of any 'Herald' or any 'Empty Phoenix' before I came across you two. That, perhaps, does not indicate that I do not possess the knowledge that you believe I do, but in any case, what you just said means nothing to me, Herald." She spoke calmly, glinting azure eyes always watching from beneath the mask. "Regardless, if the prophecy you have just spoken is true, then I concede that your self-imposed task is a noble one, but, you are worrying far too much about this threat you speak of. Whoever it is, it will be stopped. They always are. It is practically inevitable." She shrugged. "But in any case, believe what you will. It was quite interesting to talk to you both, but if that is all and you require no assistance from my steed, then I will be taking my leave. It seems I stand to gain little more from this conversation."

Mars
Mars' felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as Kiris' pink hair softly touched the tip of his spine. He was still clearly a bit flustered, having absolutely no experience with things like this. He saw Kiris smile though, and that couldn't help but relax him. He was glad she didn't seem upset by him putting his arm around her. On the contrary she seemed to enjoy it. He nodded when she said thank you, feeling like words would ruin the moment they were having. Instead he held his friend close, and couldn't help but close his eyes too as he felt quite comfortable and safe. He just sat there with Kiris, slowly drifting off as he thought about how nice being there with her felt.

Mars awoke as the Jet slowly thudded against the ground, clearly landing. "We have arrived at our destination." Rocket announced in his mechanical voice. Mars sat up and rubbed his eyes, nudging Kiris softly. "Kiris, we're here." He said to her, grabbing his equipment, armor and helmet. He then suddenly remembered something. "Hey, I have something for you." He said to Kiris, before going into his bag and pulling out what seemed like some kind of necklace. It has a thing leather chain, and the pendant was a decently sized silver coin like object with the letters, YB engraved on them. Mars handed it to Kiris and explained what it was. "It's for your voice, when you're in battle. It'll pick up the wave lengths your voice emits and will retransmit them. So it'll strengthen every spell you cast." Mars said, "I hope you like it." He added a little awkwardly, not sure how she would react to the gift.

She wasn't even sure how she remembered the name all of a sudden.

"MISS XYIXIA WOULD BE CORRECT IN THAT ASSERTION. HIEMDYNE STOCKS ARE AT AN ALL TIME HIGH AND THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY WORKING ON GROUNDBREAKING WORK." ADAM spoke. "IN ADDITION, I HAVE PICKED UP RUMOURS THAT IT MAY BE GRODDS NEXT TARGET."

As Xyri bring up that she knows a lab to start at Vera clearly becomes very uneasy, but as she says Hiemdyne and not Second Industries Vera lets out a sigh of relief. Upon realizing how obviously uncomfortable she was being, she quickly turned to Xyri, "Sorry... I'm starting to get the feeling we're not to different..." She then turned her attention to ADAM "I guess that's where we should start then" She then turns back to Xyri "Whats the address of the lab?" she asked, starting to put on her helmet, if for no other reason then to not look so uneasy.

"IT'S ONLY A FEW BLOCKS DOWN. ON JUMP STREET, BUILDING 502"

Xyri sighed. "I can lead you there. Though I wish we didn't have to go... It seems like the only lead we have." She spoke. then walked out of the room, expecting Vera to follow. She ducked her head under the doorway, being about nine feet meant that she could fit in most rooms, but doorways and things like that gave her trouble. It didn't take long at all for her to get to the Lab. She stopped outside, looking up.

"When I broke out I jumped out of one of those windows..." she commented. "Seems they fixed it."

The Kistune actually blushed slightly as she felt her hair patted. The fox girl’s canine instincts kicked in, smiling widely at the sensation of being patted. “We’ve been through a lot, yes. And it would really ‘suck' to loose you too Garnet, suck being a massive understatement.” She smiled. Then frowned as she looked around. ‘Aren’t there supposed to be children around here…” She shrugged. “I’ll check on Akari and the ex prisoner, see if they know where they are.”

The Cat frowned, "No please, finish that statement. You’ve been completely aggressive and thoroughly unfriendly with us so far, why hold back now?” She replied, annoyed. The cat person folded her arms. “I know your grumpy because you were in prison and they took your sword. And I’m grateful for your assistance with the Oni. But you’ve been quite rude and moody with us, and it’s honestly quite disheartening considering we didn’t even have to free you!”

“Besides, your not the only one who left that battle worse for wear. Look at what happened to me!” She pulled off her gloves, sighing. “They were my favourite pair… At least you can heal! What can I do for my poor gloves!”

She noticed Masami coming towards them and then sighed, folding her arms. She then plopped her guns back into their magical holsters.

Cora relaxed when Sif lowered her sword, but tensed a little when she said they couldn't leave. Sif said they weren't prisoners, but that sounded like being imprisoned to her. Still, Cora understood that they needed to protect their city. Besides Sif seemed nice, and Katie seemed quite interested in Asgard. Cora had to admit, the city was quite spectacular. She followed along with Katie and Sig as they spoke about Thor's hammer. She walked along silently, holding Katie's hand as she looked at at the city and the large dinning hall ahead of them. Cora couldn't help but still wonder who could have brought them there. The Asgardians clearly weren't expecting them, so who could it have been?

"Yes, I know Thor. We have been, or should I say had been lovers for several hundred years until he met that accursed mortal!" her grip tightening on her sword, the Valkyries edging away a bit from the dark look upon the Goddess of War's face. Calming down, she continued. "But never mind that. Mjolnir is perhaps the finest creation of the All-Mother, who is also our Goddess of Forging, Metal and Fire. The hammer is forged from a metal with a vast capacity for containing magic, which we call uru, the heart of a dying star. Though Valka, being a master of metal, can create it at will. The hammer, as I'm sure you know, can channel lightning, along with a vast majority of uses. That power is based on a series of enchantments that only Valka could describe to you. And then, there is the Worthiness Enchantment, perhaps its most famous feature."

"Only the most worthy of all can lift and wield the hammer, though the enchantment allows for others to wield it at desperate times, if absolutely necessary. It took the Son of Odin many years before he could lift it. Other people who have managed to lift it include Valka, as worthiness depends on the values she deems necessary for a wielder, and also your Wonder Woman, Captain of America and Superman, I believe, among a few others. Once grasped the hammer establishes a link with the grasper and searches their mind, memories and values, matching them up with their own and that of Valka. Indeed, its might is awe-inspiring, and many times have we rallied to it in battle." Sif said, smiling at the memories. "I am afraid as to seeing it, you would have to speak with Thor. Valka made another one at the End of All Things, and wielded it then, but it has since passed hands, to an Inhuman, I believe. And oh yes, we receive many questions. Now, let us feast! And if thou have more questions of Asgard, you may have them." Sif said, grabbing a flagon of wine and beginning to fill her plate.

“Interesting…” Spoke Katie, she seemed in thought regarding the weapon. “I’ll have to try to lift it at one point. I mean I should see if I am truly worthy or not,” She joked. it was a curious idea, and one she wanted to investigate. Things like the worthiness enchantment interested her since she usually saw the mind as not a spiritual thing but a tangible electrical conduit. So things like Telepathy and magic mind reading intrigued her, since she didn’t really know how to explain them. Of course she had some bad experiences with magic too…

She smiled at Cora, “Isn’t this cool” She spoke in between bites of her food. “We’re in Asgard! I don’t think we’ve every been anywhere like this at all."

“You can teleport and have been to asgard before, a land of living gods. But it’s the slime person which freaks you out.” She sighed. “I am Zakixia, and I am part of the Xyrixxma race.” She frowned. She suddenly felt something. Something she had not felt in a long time. She worked to place the feeling. “So your a magician… thats somewhat Ironic, given that I absorb magic.”

He watched the touching exchange between Masami and Garnet with a smile, it was good to see humans and kitsune getting along so well. When Garnet chided him for his behaviour he rolled his eyes and muttered something about how things were back in his day.

Taro paused when he heard of the missing prisoners.
"He might know . . . Otherwise we shall have to go hunting . . ."
He said, his voice rife with apprehension. When things did not go as planned while demons were involved, there was usually a trap.
"Oni are carnivorous . . . It is possible we are already too late. . . Do any of you smell alcohol?"
He asked as he recalled what he knew of the Oni of his time. Foul creatures created when a wicked person died. He could recall the savage tortures Oni meted out upon their victims.
"Tis strange . . . Oni usually kidnap wicked humans for torture . . . These children must simply have been in the wrong place. Or Oni are becoming less traditional."

Planet of the Underdark (Or Planet Claudia!)
Claudia sighed as she fell onto her bed, the cosy covers and the reinforced bedbase were... wondrous. It felt so good just lying there, after all though she never got tired in a fight, the fatigue rushed in once she was calm. She Chuckled as she sat up, looking around her room, which was now one of several which Claudia and Tomia inhabited. There was a living room, kitchen, sparring room, dinning room, two bedrooms with on suite bathrooms, (One for each person) and a pool with an artificial view. This was the life.

She knew she had to get Claudia back to earth, but once she felt she actually belonged. Like her powers made her more than a freak, they made her a celebrity. She wanted to stay so badly, to make her way to the top and then live like a queen for the rest of her life. But she knew she had to find a way to get Tomia back. She couldn't be so selfish.

"Come on. Try the beds! They're amazing!"

I am glad to see that the Valkyries have given you a relatively warm welcome, and I hope no offense was taken if they insisted that you stayed here. I apologize for you being teleported to this realm without your consent, and you may leave if you wish. But, Asgard has need of heroes, for these people of slime shall arrive here, soon, to devour this realm. And then, next they shall turn to Midgard, and all of this universe, if we do not make our stand here. Sif!" she said, beckoning the Valkyrie captain. "Prepare the Einherjar and sound the battle horns. War," at this Valka sighed, "has come to our lands once more." Sif nodding and running off.

"And I have not partaken in the Valkasleep yet. The neverending battle it seems," she muttered, before raising her voice once again to the humans. "I shall not be at my greatest might for this battle, but we will hold them back. We must. And where are my manners?" she questioned rhetorically. "I am Valka Silverhand, All-Mother of Asgard. Greetings, strangers, though I would have you be strangers no longer," she said issuing a short bow, by this asking them to introduce themselves.

Tomia:

Air.

Air was freedom. Yet this extravagant room never seemed so small. They'd been winning back to back for weeks now, but it seemed like they were further and further away from freedom every time. Even worse, Claudia seemingly didn't want to return. She couldn't blame her really, big red people never were appreciated on Earth, and she had refused to see her Father for whatever reason. It made her wonder really.

Is it because of Daddy? Whatd daddy do?

Signing, she fell back into the bed, burying her face in the pillows. Today was another battle won, another battle she barely got through. Blood, sweat and mud were the onto words that coudo describe any battle she found herself in. And worse yet, she found herself hating battle. The thrill and adrenaline rushes her father seemed to love where absent. Every time she fought, it was because she feared for her and Claudia's life, not because she loved it.

" When will it end Miss Claudia?" She murmured, climbing up on top of her red caregiver and laying against her chest. " I miss Daddy, I miss my friends, and I'm tired of fighting bad people." She whimpered, pulling herself close to Claudia.

For a fraction of a moment, everything in New York City was rather quiet. Until the gaping purple maw of the warp opened up over the city casting a dark gothic glow upon the highly populated city. If one ignored the swirling purple vortex which seemed to scream 'abandon faith all ye who enter here' they would notice a large speck upon the backdrop of the gateway to a hellish dimension. Said speck was actually two beings, fighting to the death while sailing towards the earth at terminal velocity. One was the currently losing Khornate Bloodthirster, and the other, smaller being was one Grandmaster Andreius Deguise, battle brother of the Emperor's Grey Knights, and he was currently unloading round after round of bolter ammo into the daemon's head.

Andreius Deguise
I was falling, but so was the daemonic cur that flailed beneath me. That meant that we would both hit the ground, and it would take the brunt of the force. My storm bolter went click, signifying it had no more ammo, I stuck my fist into the fleshy hole caused by the barrage of high explosive retribution, and let loose with holy lightning baking the inside of the disgusting creature. I could hear the sizzling of flesh and I saw an acrid smoke filled the air around the hole.

I lost focus of time and both of us hit the ground earlier than I expected. I was thrown off the beast upon impact, and landed roughly. The ground beneath me cracked over the multiple tonned mass of both me and my armor, the daemon fared little better. I began focusing energy as I began chanting the canticle of absolution, something I had done so many times it was less of having to recite something and more of a morning routine. There was movement in front of me as the daemon stirred, it was naive of me to think that a missing limb an a few hundred wounds would kill a greater daemon.

I quickly finished the canticle and a rift of purple swirling energy opened up behind the daemon. The being in question began screaming bloody murder as it fell over and started getting dragged back to whence it came. it left a large gash where it tried to stop itself from being sucked back to it's home. it was pulled through completely and the rift dissipated. The presence of a daemon was gone from the area, and so was it's taint.

Seeing as I was in some sort of populated city I figured I was no longer in the warp. I looked up to see what I had fallen from, only to see a rapidly closing warp storm, I tensed expecting to encounter raving mad colonials but they didn't arrive. Nor did the Khornate daemons or traitorous marines I had expected to try and cut me down. Instead I was met with silence and the awed gaze of a few bystanders. I would've cut them down to prevent any taint from spreading from what they saw. Except I didn't detect any from them, nor did I detect much of anything from them, they were fine... delving deeper into my surroundings I noticed something startling. The warp felt different, it was the same as before, but it felt... calmer... if that was possible. I stood pondering this for a moment, seeing as nothing was trying to rend my mind at the moment.

Doombringer walked into the room wearing his typical yellow lantern uniform, only now the black whih usually bordered the yellow/gold color was a deep aquamarine. What appeared to be a glass version of a blue power ring was on his finger next to his normal yellow ring and a faint etching of the blue lantern corps symbol appeared over his normal yellow corps symbol. He looked up to Valka and yelled "WHATS GOING ON! I COULD HEAR YOU FROM THE TRAINING GROUNDS!" Bringer looked around at the strangers and sighed. at least there were other humans up here for once. He could only talk to Thor and his Son up here, and both of them talked like they were in the dark ages. Well not his son. His son was different. Not human, but not quite Asgardian either. But who cared, other humans!

She smiled, nodding at him as he told her that they had arrived to South America, and then sat up as well, in order to allow him to move and get his stuff, a soft yawn escaping her lips as she stretched a little, still somewhat sleepy. She was in a wonderful mood at the moment, and she felt much better than she usually would after a good night's sleep, her tail struggling to move in circles within the enclosed space that was Elena's jet. Idly, she grabbed her red wizard hat with much care and stepped out of the jet, placing the hat on her head and then looking around at her new location, feeling the air of another land blowing through her hair.

Hearing Mars addressing her, though, the Hadrian girl quickly turned around and walked up to him, curiosity evident in her eyes and her expression as she wondered what it was that he wanted to give her. Looking at him pull something out of his bag, she was very surprised to see that it was a small piece of jewelry hanging from a string. She observed it intently, and when Mars handed it to her, she looked at him, a light blush appearing on her cheeks as she took it into her claws with the utmost care. She was quite surprised to receive a gift like that from him, and also very happy; however, it seemed like she misinterpreted things a little, as Mars soon explained that it was something meant to enhance her voice and power her spells. Nonetheless, she was quite content, smiling at Mars. "I love it." She said sincerely in response to his question, before offering it back. "Will you please put it on me?" She asked.

"You take care. I'll be here, with the grumpy cat." Garnet shouted at Masami as she left, pausing for a moment afterwards as she considered that grumpy cat was probably a better nickname for Akari than it was for Taro, before simply giving a mental shrug. It was just a stupid nickname, there was no need to be so analytical about it. It was as if the mind of some mildly obsessive lazy good-for-nothing from across the world had suddenly influenced her thought pattern, but she decided not to ponder it any longer and instead turned her attention to the not-quite-feline grumpy cat.

"That's lovely. Your optimism is contagious my friend." The blonde woman said with mild sarcasm as she looked around. "In any case, I don't smell anything, but it's probably moot to ask me, since you're the ones with magic noses. We should probably start looking for the kids, though. I don't see why Oni would set up a complex facade and amass an army of cannon fodder if they only wanted to kidnap the children for fun or for munchies. There's probably something else at play here, so the kids should be fine." Garnet shrugged, and then began looking around and shouting in order to find the children.

Akihiko continued glaring at her, but though he was still quite angry, he felt the burning slowly subside as he listened to Akari's words. Even though neither she nor Taro had been particularly nice to him either, he had to admit that she had a point, he had acted perhaps too aggressively during what little time he had spent with them. He started regretting his words a little, and as his anger subsided, so did the burning pain present in his chest.

Then she spoke about her gloves, and Akihiko nearly bit his own tongue off.

Eventually, though, he stood up, after having managed to calm down enough so that his blood was no longer rioting inside of him. He looked at Akari. "You're right." He stated. "I've been irritable and rude. I'm not used to work with other people, and I have my secrets that I'd like to keep to myself. I should've thanked you for freeing me and I did not. I should apologize for that." He said, each word sounding like it was forcibly taken from his breath, though that only made it seem more sincere, as the only one forcing him to say it was himself. "...With that said," He continued. "it is usually not considered polite to treat others as if they were inferior, or to pry on someone else's secrets, and it's definitely not nice to drop a scabbard on someone's head while they're taking a rest after having been nearly beat to death while helping you." He stated. He then noticed Masami approaching and shook his head, taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry about your gloves. I hope they didn't suffer too much."

Walking off towards Masami, he sheathed his sword on the magnetic scabbard, which he attached to his belt, and looked at the Kitsune. "The kids?"

As Otis was flying above the country, the head of his hammer glowed brightly. "Huh? Do ya smell trouble girl? Say no more! Lead the way!" He commanded his hammer which yanked him straight back in the direction that he just left. Once he saw Asgard, he let out a sigh. "Really? I was here not ten minutes ago. What's the deal?" He asked the hammer unsure if he'd actually get a response. But when he saw what to him looked like giant women made out of Jello, he pretty much drew a blank. "Okay. I've had a long list of weird shit happen to me in the last week, this is definitely in the top 3." He was in a floating city, populated by the Norse Gods, whilst it was being attacked by sentient slime women. "I'm going to be honest. I really don't know how to respond to this. So I'm just going to ask you to cease and desist. Cause attacking Asgard is like super rude. Ummm... Yeah, I don't have much in the threat depart."

Xander and Naja: Empire

Xander and Naja both split up to accomplish their respective tasks. Xander got the attention of as many Kryptonian builders as he could get his hands on. They were already skilled in their craft. The yellow sun made sure that they could accomplish the building of another city in a matter of hours. Which is what they did. Xander got some others to make round trips to the asteroid belt to grab the metals required. Vibranium was the one the architects insisted that they use. Being one of the few metals that Kryptonians had to exert some strength to break. Given the circumstance, it was a smart choice. Xander was highly interested in Kryptonian architecture and technology. Though it wasn't nearly as easy to get the hang of as the Kree tech was. Kryptonians loved crystals. In fact, the Vibranium was mostly used as furnishings. It was technology more advanced than he was used to. But everything was off to a great start.

Meanwhile, Naja lead the group back to a Kree planet that had been devastated by the Builders. Survivors still buried under wreckage, lack of food and water. Living conditions were nothing sort of abysmal. It took a matter of minutes to comb the planet for survivors and get them reunited with their families. Naja had the Kree members make the most appearances. It was their home after all. The Kree wanted heroes. And they were supplied. The Pirates were scattered with the upmost ease. Most of them were outright killed. Naja wanted to try and stop them, but it wasn't Earth. Her morals didn't apply here. It was Kree defending Kree. Their planet, their rules. She ignored it for the most part and spent most of her time helping everyone she could. Some even recognized her from the war. All they knew was that she was from Earth, and if not for the human's quick thinking and completely insane tactics they would have lost. It felt good to be appreciated.

Mars
Mars was quite relieved when Kiris smiled at him and said she loved the device. He wasn't sure if she grasped it's full potential yet, but he supposed it didn't really matter, she'd find out soon enough. She seemed much more interested in it as a piece of jewelry, which made Mars blush a bit, his light cheeks tinting red. He realized jewelry swas something you gave a significant other. In his mind, Mars tried to tell himself that this wasn't that case, that he was just giving a gift to a friend, but even he didn't believe that at the moment. He then saw Kiris offer the necklace back to him. He wondered why, but then heard her request and his blush deepened. "Uh sure, no problem." He responded shyly, taking the necklace from her hands and taking a few steps behind her. He slowly and gently moved her hair out of the way, before placing the necklace around Kiris' neck. His finger tips lightly touched her skin as he secured the clasp.

Once the necklace was on he stepped back, trying to hide his blush he cleared his throat. "We should get going." He said simply, trying to hide his embrassement. Rocket stood up from his seat and the three of them headed off the jet and into the open field that they had landed in. Mars checked the small monitor on his wrist and spoke to Kiris, "The facility is nearby, just past this forest ahead. Stay sharp, we don't know what we'll encounter here." He said as they headed into the small forest.

As they walked through the trees, a soft rustling could be heard nearby. Mars stopped, and Rocket spoke up, "I detect a heartbeat on my radar. It is nearby and above us." "It's probably one of Bain's thugs... We have to be..." Suddenly an arrow was shot out of the air and landed in front of them, causing a cloud of smoke, making Mars cough. "Who are you?" A now nearby voice demanded. As the smoke began to clear the figure became visible. It was a young man seemingly a few years older that Kiris and Mars, probably in his early twenties. He had a composite bow knocked and aimed at them, wearing a red hood and eye mask. He was clearly not messing around and had an angry look to him. "Well, are you working for Bain?" He demanded of them, his bow ever at the ready.

Xyri sighed. "I can lead you there. Though I wish we didn't have to go... It seems like the only lead we have." She spoke. then walked out of the room, expecting Vera to follow. “Welcome! Fans and Freaks! Ghouls and Gods! Heroes and Villains! Welcome, to the hundredth annual PUNCH OUT!”

In the middle of a dimension far from our own, in the middle of a stadium crowded with every form of being from the multiverse and beyond, was a short woman. She looked like a child and physically for most intents and purposes, she was one. Her brown hair and orange eyes, her round face and short, short gait all reinforced the idea that she was a small kid. But what betrayed her was the devilish smirk, the hellfire in her eyes and the odd impact her presence had. Despite everything, one did not make the mistake of identifying this as a child easily, and almost never without severe repercussions. For this was no mere child, but a demon goddess cursed to bear the form of one.

Her arena was similarly deceptive. While it seems like a mere metal colosseum in what appeared to be empty space, the truth was far from as simple as appearance. It is actually a dimension hopping magic ship. Attacking it would be suicide, besides the fact that it hold powerful beings, because of it’s advanced armaments.

“I am your host and tournament organizer, Drakana the Bloody!” She spoke. “For those of you not familiar with this particular sport, firstly, tell me what rock you were hiding under so I can use it to beat you to death with.” She spoke. It was a joke, though no one would dare attempt to test whether or not the demon. “And secondly, if you love violence, carnage and pure and glorious brutality in the art of combat, then this is the sport for you!”

“The rules are simple. Two contestants walk into the arena and it is their goal to knock out, maim, terrify into surrender or (My personal favourite) kill your opponent.”

“Now if you’re one of those namby pamby whiners who think that this is inhumane, then even you have nothing to worry about (apart from me slamming your head into a rock until both break for your disgusting cowardice) . For the contestants are merely brought back to life after each match when they meet with our old friend death.”

“Now who are these wonderful contestants? Who will be doing the dance of death in the arena of annihilation?” She smiled before she spoke. “Some very best, most legendary or simply most interesting individuals from a random multiverse we preselect. Though this time, this punch out: the contestants will be all picked from only the females of the multiverse we choose. Although, males can be picked too, they simply have to go through a… certain magical process. They’ll be returned to normal after the matches.”

“So, in short. We at Punch Out have an epic set of female on female brawls ahead of us. For we have picked a very interesting set of universes indeed…”

“Let the brutality BEGIN!”

Meanwhile.

“Wow, Tara! That’s an epic kickoff to this Punch out season!” Spoke a tall female humanoid made of slime, about ten feet tall. She smiled to another humanoid, who looked completely human, though anyone who knew her would recognise that she was in fact, not human, but from the dead world of Krypton. They both sat at a table, like sports commentators, looking at the camera.

“That’s right Xani. And the universe that’s been selected seems to be the perfect place for high powered fighters.” Tara spoke. “We can’t wait to see the roster that’s been compiled for what should be a memorable hundredth anniversary of the Punch Out games!” She remarked, then sighed "Or at least it should be better that Punch Out 99…” There was a pause.

Dani took over. “For the viewers not familiar with the selection process, the computers are fed with the criteria for choosing epic fighters out of the countless multitude of the verse, then they are teleported and briefed.” She paused. “And I think they’re being chosen… now.”

OOC:
Okay, so if you wish to be involved in the Punch Out universe Championship then just post your character name in the OOC, put a cool monkier (The caped crusder, the Jade Giant) and start your post with:
Code: Select all
Punch Out "Volunteers"

This is pretty much non canon luls, so don't worry about this disrupting your arcs. (Also charecter death, as said before is irrelevant)
Also, I will be apping Drakana at some point (Again, for the luls of having a demon goddess of combat be cursed to be in a childs body) :P

Hiroshi:

Breathing steadily, Hiroshi felt out his surroundings, getting hazy visions of Myosai and Glacia moving around. As much as he hated to admit it, he was good at sensing ki, but not finding the exact location of enemies. Usually the enemies he faced weren't hiding from him, they wanted him to find them. Sighing, he raised his power, golden fire lighting up the area around him.

Blitzing forward, Hiroshi phased from sight as quickly as he appeared, the burning gold aura the only visible part of him. Snapping his foot out, he swung hard into Glacia's side, a burning boot of ki discharging from his hand as his momentum carried him around, his palm open and face level at his Acrosian companion.

Glacia rolled with the kick, grunting as she hit the wall of the dojo. She felt as if her ribs were cracked, though there was no way to check. She returned to the shadows, not allowing herself to let out even a groan. She could feel her body repair itself, and the pain was great. She quickly force the ground of the dojo to freeze over, so that people running now would trip. When Hiroshi next attack, she would be able to react.

Though, as she tried to get up she found her body begin to betray her. She looked to see no blood, but her arm was broken. She grunted, trying to reset it so it could heal.

Did she actually FREEZE me?!

Myosai was shocked. It wasn't really that cold, but not being able to move, especially with her personality, was rather irritating.

Her sword still emitted ki energy, hot enough for her to get a grip and accelerate it's burn. The aura of energy around the sword burned with a much larger flame, hot enough to melt the ice around her body, allowing her to escape from the trap.

"Hey!"

Myosai rolled across the floor, grabbing her sword as she quickly sheathed it, holding it above her head to charge an attack. If Glacia were to turn around and see her, she'd go pale for a split second, before resuming a serious state.

"Dodge this, Glacia!" She said, a serious glare on her face as she looked back into her memory, for the name of the attack. Something about some.. Yamcha guy or whatever his name was, using this Spirit Ball thing. Sounds cool enough? Powerful, too?

Boy, was she wrong. The golden energy sphere appeared in her palms, radiating with sparks of her own powerful energy. Myosai was going to put a twist on this otherwise weak attack: every time Glacia dodged or deflected it, she'd pump more energy into the ball, much like her Power Ball or Death Ball or whatever she'd named her attack. This way she could gain an upper hand in the fight, and so that Hiroshi was not doing all of the work.

Myosai loosened her grip on the golden sphere, lobbing it at the Frosty lady as she guided it on an erratic path towards her target.

"Katie." spoke the shorter one, smiling. "Yeah, I've been meaning to speak to you..." She spoke. "One, were you the one who sent for us? and two could I possibly have a look at your hammer, if that's not too much tro-"

"No time. I think they're already here..." Spoke Zaki. "Hopefully more of the people I summoned would show up. But for now we'll have to make do with you four..." She spoke.

Katie chuckled. "Make do... You make it sound like we'll be fighting things the size of planets..."

He asked the hammer unsure if he'd actually get a response.

The Xyrixma stood on the ground around the golden city of asgard itself. They had actually shrunk for the sake of their mission, and would be a little bigger normally. As it stood, the tallest was about nine times the size of a building, and the shortest was about half the size of a large building. The slimed began to slam against the wall, when suddenly someone new came in.

One of them, the largest, turned around. focusing on him. She frowned, squinting as if looking at a fly. "Sorry hun. We got orders. And we got to eat." She spoke. "Though, if you want to be part of the buffet, be my guest." She reached out for him, using her slimey hands to hopefully grab the tiny thing.

Kirisvala was glad that Mars agreed to put the necklace on her, for more than a single reason. Firstly, it would likely be much simpler to him than it would be for her, as her claws were not apt for such delicate matters, even if she had long mastered the art of using them for intrincate, complicated work such as knitting or handling fragile things. But mostly, the idea of him doing that simply appealed to her, and she smiled as he placed the necklace on her, still blushing, suppressing a shiver when she felt him touch the skin on the back of her neck. She was, however, brought out of her reverie when Mars cleared his throat and instructed for them to head towards the facility already, and, turning around, she walked beside him and Rocket, feeling ever so slightly disappointed, but knowing that this was something that they had to do. The mission was, after all, the only reason they had come all the way out here, and therefore it was the only reason they had been alone together on the jet; in that regard, she had to thank the mission for those wonderful moments.

Moving through the trees with her two teammates, Kirisvala tried to keep her eyes and ears open for any sign of danger, but she had never been very perceptive. Her forte was spellcasting, not tracking or fighting or other skills which might demand a greater use of her senses, and so, the Hadrian magician did not realize there was something wrong until Mars stopped, and was about to ask him about it when she heard Rocket speak up, claiming that someone was nearby. Then, there was smoke, and a person aiming a bow at them. The singer frowned, not at all content with the idea of Mars being threatened, as she was not too concerned about herself; she could always use her claws to guard her own body, though she might've been underestimating the archer and his weapon in thinking that she could block the arrow in time.

Either way, they were on the spot now. They had been discovered pretty early, and anything she could do with her powers would either take too long or alert everyone else anywhere near the forest, as a Hadrian's roar was not easy to ignore. Sweat began running down her forehead as she pondered what to do, her tail poking at the ground in order to find something, anything, that she could use. Eventually, it wrapped around a pebble, and Kirisvala's mind lit up with an idea. Quickly, she used her tail to toss the pebble towards the bow, in order to throw it off-target, while at the same time tackling Mars in order to knock him out of the way of the arrow. "Rocket! Seize him!" She shouted at the robot, hoping that it would be able to apprehend the archer before he could either threaten them again or scurry off to warn the rest of the forest about their presence.

Mars
The archer's eyes were drawn to the pebble flying in the air just as Mars was tackled to the ground by Kiris. The archer fired an arrow quite quickly, that went flying past the two members of the Young Bloods. Rocket heard Kiris' words and sprung into action. He rushed at the arched in high speed who fired three arrows in succession at the robot but they all bounced harmlessly off his armor. The archer seemed to reach for another arrow in his quiver when Rocket grabbed him by the collar, and tossed him on the ground as his bow fell off to the side.

Mars slowly untangled himself from Kiris, looking a little embarrassed at how vulnerable and helpless he had been. "Thanks" He said to Kiris as he got to his feet and headed toward the archer, pulling his small plasma gun from its holster and pointing it at him. "Who are you?" Mars demanded. "One of Sionis' thugs?" Mars demanded.

Tha archer merely scoffed, "Kid, you clearly don't recognize me." The archer said with a smug grin. "I can tell by now that you're not any of Bain's thugs, you don't fit the type. The name is Red Arrow. I'm here to stop the gangs. Now what about your two? What are you doing here? This isn't a kids game." He said to them, and Mars was starting to get mad.

"We're not kids, we're heroes too. We're members of the Young Bloods, and we're here to take out this factory too. If you're so good, then why did you just get beat by two kids?" Mars asked angrily.

Red Arrow merely shrugged, "You took me by surprise. You're girlfriend here is really smart on her feet." Mars blushed brightly at this. "She's not my girlfriend." He said indignatly.

Red Arrow smiled at that, 'Whatever kid, but the bottom line is we're all here right? So how about we work together huh? That robot of yours seems like he can come in handy."

Mars clearly didn't like the idea, even though he knew they could definitely use the Red Arrow's help. Still, his pride wouldn't let him admit that. "No thanks, we don't need help." He said, not caring that it wasn't really true.

Cora
Cora listened to Valka introduce herself. She seemed quite nice, but there was clearly a lot on her shoulders. "My name is Cora ma'am. It's nice to meet you. Whatever is threatening your home, Katie and I are willing to help." Cora said sincerely.

Suddenly there was another flash off light and a young man and woman appeared in Asgard. It was Darian and Serene Astarious, looking around appearing quite confused. "Where the hell are we?" Darian asked to no one in particular, his sword slung over his shoulder as he looked around cautiously. His sister was a little less on guard and was amazed by how beautiful Asgard seemed. "Wow!" She exclaimed. "Whatever this place is its amazing!"

After having knocked Mars out of the way, Kirisvala had simply closed her eyes, hoping that Rocket would take care of the matter and that nothing would go wrong. After a moment, however, she heard a loud thud, as if a body had fallen to the ground, and at that moment, she opened her eyes and immediately looked back only to see that Rocket had successfully gotten the red archer under control, much to her immense relief. She sighed, but then, noticing that Mars was trying to get up, she looked back at him. Realizing how close they were, the Hadrian girl blushed and quickly got off of him, making it easier for him to stand up. Hearing his thanks, she simply nodded at him as she stood up as well, discreetly trying to hide the red on her face. Luckily for her, Mars seemed to be focusing more on the red archer than on her at the moment, which allowed her to keep to herself for a moment. She let out another sigh, and then picked up her hat, carefully dusting it off before placing it back on her head and proceeding to do the same with the rest of her attire, being very careful that her claws did not rend the cloth. She was a little annoyed that the outfit she had diligently made was getting dirty so quickly, but she reasoned that it was bound to happen sooner or later with this kind of job. She'd just have to take good care of it to make sure it didn't get ruined too quickly.

Walking back to Rocket and Mars once she was done doing an outfit check, Kiris arrived just in time to hear the Red Arrow explain that he wasn't one of the bad guys like she'd assumed. Hearing that, she felt bad for assuming that he was one of them and ordering Rocket to take care of him like she had done, though she was also not quite happy with how he had pointed his bow at them, even if he wasn't one of the bad guys. She supposed that he didn't really know that they weren't bad guys, but then, the same could be said of her, so she decided to just leave the matter and gave a mental shrug. What was done, was done, after all. Listening to the man called Red as he continued speaking, she smiled slightly at the compliment that was made towards her, and then blushed once again as the man called her Mars' 'girlfriend', though she tried to hide it, feeling strangely disappointed when Mars energically denied it, but saying nothing. Instead, she listened as he suggested that they team up in order to take out the gangs and secure the chemical factory.

"Sure! We'll be happy to team up, Mister Arrow." She said, blatantly ignoring Mars' stance on the offer and also mistaking the red hero's alias for his actual name, despite the fact that she'd made herself a similar alias the morning of the same day. "I'm the Dragon Mage and this is Mars. If you're not with them then we can work together. Do you know anything about the bad guys over there that could be useful?" She asked the man.

"Wait," Simon interjected into what was surely a fascinating conversation, holding his index finger up. "D'ya hear that?"

Boom. Boom. Slap. Boom.

"If I know anything," he continued, "that's the unmistakable sound of massive slime babes trying to bust down the walls of Asgard. Lady Valka," he said, turning to her, " muster the forces of Asgard. I'll take…you…an'-look, if you aren't Fem-Thor, come with me! We've got some Jell-O to boil."

And with that…dire? pronouncement, Simon ran for the door, almost getting trampled by two fighting Valkyries, and took to the air, heading for the spot the sound was coming from.

"Now I have a response. EWWW!" Otis replied slightly grossed out from the idea. backpedaling away from the slime woman. "No way, no how am I becoming someone else's lunch. Been there, done that, not doing it again. Sentient Jello is not the way I wanna go out!" He needed an idea and fast. The things were made of slime, from his experience with goo, it might as well be water. Hitting them wasn't going to work. He got an idea, but he wasn't too keen on hurting anyone. "Alright hammer... Umm... Yeah. What was that thing Thor does. Spin!" He shouted to himself, planted his back firmly against the wall behind him. "I've waited my entire life for this pun, I'M GONNA ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE!" He shouted, grabbing the leather strap at the base of Mjolnir and spun it as fast as he could, creating a powerful gust of wind. "I'm sorry! But y'all are being pretty rude! I have friends here! Friends who don't wanna be lunch!"

Xander and Naja: Empire

Within a matter of hours both groups had completed their assigned tasks. Kandor was nearly five times the size it was before and continued to grow with the use of the Kryptonian crystals. Easily capable of holding thousands of occupants. All the while, the planet that Naja, the Kree and the Kryptonians went through had hundreds of recruits ready to join the effort. Most were Kree, but there were handfuls of Skrulls, Shi'ar and even Spartoi as well. Once things started to calm down, they were able to procure a ship large enough to transport them back to Praetoria. The war had forced the races to put aside their differences in order to survive. Naja explained to them what they would be doing, and was meant with some minor complaints about having to work with the species that they might not get along with. However, under the threat of being taken back, they changed their tune almost immediately. They all knew what a Kryptonian was. It was Earth's most famous hero and protector.

The thought of having the power to match one was more than enticing enough for them to put aside most of their prejudices. After a few hours of flying, they landed back on Praetoria. Many were in awe of the Kryptonian architecture as none had ever seen it in person. Kryptonians were, thankfully, thought to be extinct. Which was nipped in the bud as soon as they saw them flying around the city. Xander, Zod, and a few others flew out to meet the group. "Hey sweetheart." He said. "Looks like you made some friends. How was space?" He asked.

"It's a mess out there. But we saved a lot of people. Everyone here is, mostly, willing to stop being racist in order to help out." She said and stood next to him. "See? My boyfriend is human. Mostly. If I can do it. I'm sure you guys can too."

Xander chuckled a bit. "Alright. I hope you all aren't afraid of needles." He said as some of his assistants brought down hundreds of doses of his serum. "Appreciate this. I had to learn Kryptonian for it. Their tech is amazing. Not user friendly. One thing I loved about Kree tech was it's ability to be understood and used easily. Now. Form an orderly line. I mean orderly. There's more than enough here for everyone. Afterwords, my... I hesitate to say friend-" Zod gave him a "If looks could kill" expression. Though his look really could kill if he wanted it to. "-Will help you along in training your new abilities as well as combat training for those who don't have it." He explained and everyone did what he asked.

It took about ten minutes to get everyone situated. Some clearly had a better understanding of their powers than others, but they were in a place where they could practice without the risk of hurting someone. Zod went to work as soon as they were all finished. "Please don't be too harsh General. If things get out of hand, I'll be here. There's one more thing I have to do."

"Oh... Right. You're sure you don't want me to handle it? I mean... It's your worst nightmare. Politics and negotiating. I don't want you to fry the entire U.N just because they're a bunch of stupid people."

"Well... You're coming with obviously. And will do most of the talking."
