What's the heaviest weaponry that even overmilitarized SWAT teams use? Carbines? Shotguns?

A SWAT MRAP would probably need serious modifications on the offensive part to be a threat. They'd need to pilfer some machine guns, make ball mounts(or an RWS if there's someone with some technical know-how), and maybe gun ports?

NYPD has .50 rifles as do others, plenty have APCs and ostensibly, one has an "attack helicopter".

A SWAT group is pretty much a better-trained militia, so long as they have access to their equipment and are not targeted.

In a Red Dawn scenario, if SWAT members were able to escape in some force, then even if they don't have access to equipment they still have their training and knowledge. If cut off from friendlies, then they might be able to survive on airdropped supplies and supplemented with special forces, and might be valuable in training the rest of the population. Or am I being overly optimistic?

Depends on what you mean by SWAT teams, if its the regular ole sheriff dept. unit then its likely to max out at .50BMG rifles and grenade launchers although the odd GPMG is not unknown amounst the more paranoid depts.

Most SWAP MRAP 9that are actually MRAPS) and not just armoured SUVs will still have thier pintle mounts and gun rings from when they were sold off.

Now if we start talking about some of the US federal agency SWAT teams then suddenly SAMs and ATGMs are on the table.

In a PMT scenario, does anyone know what carriers will *look* like?

As in generally how might they operate?
Will they be bigger or smaller?
More armed or less armed?
Or will political science majors who just learned what a DF-21D is actually be right and they will be obselete?

It's not French,it's not Spanish,it's Inyurstan
"Inyourfaceistan" refers to my player/user name, "Inyursta" is my IC name. NOT INYURSTAN. IF YOU CALL INYURSTA "INYURSTAN" THEN IT SHOWS THAT YOU CANT READ. Just refer to me as IYF or Stan.

The Gerald R Ford will serve well into the second half of the 21st century; the first ship won't be due for retirement until 2066. Which is a fairly PMT time AFAIK.

Based on current uh, paradigms, what is likely to change most is the aircraft complement. Which will be mostly UCAVs with incredible range.

So, how would you deploy a Heavy Brigade Combat Team? Would you deploy it be a Sealift ship? And also, how many C-130's does it take to deploy, say, a Stryker Brigade Combat Team?

By ship.

How long do you have? Several hundred, if each only makes a single trip, but your airfield probably won't have space for several hundred C-130s. You can do it with just a few dozen if you're willing to wait a few weeks. And that presumes you don't have to stop along the way.

Does anybody know of a way I could calculate how many ships Ukraine can reasonably afford to operate at one time? I'm thinking about moving away from single ship deployments, unless there is some reason I should stick with them.
