Well for ambushes and/or COIN operation it may be nice to have some weapons on the thing. Though if the bulldozer is shooting you are in trouble.

Grenades, artillery and missiles. It is a rather situation weapon, on open planes not so useful, against fortifications more useful.

It is very much capable of killing unprotected people, generally in horrible ways, but it's main use seems to be marking an area for whatever. I think if you want to conceal your forces, you should use something less dangerous in case it starts blowing back towards you, but it might be a fantastic weapon for fighting in cities.

In all seriousness, though, driving very slowly, dipping below and above the thermocline and, if necessary, firing off noisemakers to distract and confuse. Driving slowly and the like to stay quiet is usually enough whilst you attain a firing solution. It really depends on the situation.

There are circumstances in which you can just fuck international law when it comes to what weapons you use and how they're employed. Those situations are when victory means you decide what international law means.

Regimental frontage is about 3-4km on the attack. A whole Army frontage would be about 50-km.

You don't. As soon as you put fish in the water you have anounced your position. You then try to break contact using decoys, rapid changes in depth and moving away at your max quiet speed or just your max flank speed if you have a particularly fast sub.
