Here is where all posts of what actually occurs in the world will go.
I'll start us off with a quick post, and once your app is accepted by me, and your nation name is listed next to your faction, feel free to post here, and get all your information into the Archive
Here's the OOC/SIgnups: OOC-Signups
And here is the Archive: Archive

E: Do not post yet, we're still in the startup phase. We need more apps in, I have some more things I need to tweak, etc, before getting this show on the road.
Do the thing.

2186 AD. The Reapers, the boogeymen from the galaxy's past had been thought to have been just that; monsters, not an extant threat. This all changed when just several years prior, Sovereign, thought to be a Geth warship, began to attack Citadel space. Sovereign sought to bring the rest of its kind through the Relays in order to begin their "cycle" of wiping the galaxy clean of organic life every 50,000 years. A single human, Commander Shepard, and the crew he assembled marshaled what strength they could, learned of Sovereign's true identity as one of the Reapers, and as Sovereign began its task at the Citadel, he brought the fleets of the Systems Alliance to bear just in time, saving the Citadel Council and destroying Sovereign, at the expense of a number of human warships. The threat was believed to have ended.

That was not the case.

A short time later, Shepard had been tasked with lessening the threat of slavers and geth, still thought to be the largest threat against galactic life, when a new one appeared, quickly destroying the Normandy. A number of lives were lost, including the Commander's. Hope was not lost, however. Cerberus, a pro-human terrorist organization, found Shepard's body and began the 'Lazarus' project; with the explicit task of restoring Shepard to the man he was, one-hundred percent, at any cost. Billions of credits and two years later, the project was a success. Shepard lived again, a mix of organic reconstruction and advanced cybernetics, and working with Cerberus, who provided him a new Normandy, the SR2, and a new crew, he went to work, discovering who was behind the recent string of disappearing human colonies. When he did, whoever, the answer was terrifying. Collectors, a legend or myth of the Terminus systems, were not only real, but quite devastating. They were the ones behind the abductions of the human colonies, and after chasing down leads and gathering new allies, he went to their base through the fabled Omega-4 relay, right in the middle of the Galactic Core. There, he encountered the Collectors true objective; a human-form Reaper. After saving his crew, Shepard was able to destroy the Reaper, and set off a charge that caused a chain reaction, destroying the base, with all of his companions and crew surviving what could only be described as a suicide mission.

Several more months and events transpired, namely the destruction of an entire solar system by Shepard's hand. This delayed the return of the Reapers, although at the cost of several hundred thousand Batarian lives, causing Shepard to be grounded, and relieved of command of the Normandy. The Normandy went through a period of renovations and retrofits, and became the SR3, now more than just a frigate, the Normandy could serve as a mobile command center, and strategize and oversee an entire war. The galaxy was now more open to the thought of the Reapers being a real threat, but it was too little too late.

The Reapers arrived in the space of the Batarian Hegemony first, and within a day, the Reaper force had decimated their military, slaughtered most of their civilians, and destroyed almost all of their colonies. Only a few ships were able to escape, taking the risk of going through Human space into the Viper Nebula, and settling in the Bahak system. Should the Reapers come, it would be their final stand.

After the destruction of the Batarians, with the galaxy still largely unaware of their presence, thanks to the media and information censorship of the Hegemony, they moved towards Earth, with one contingent of Sovereign-class ships attacking the fleets of Humanity at Arcturus Station, and the station itself, home to the government and bureaucracy of the Systems Alliance, annihilating all who were there. This was not their only move, because at the same time, a larger force of dozens, if not, over a hundred Sovereign-class Reapers blew through the Human fleets and defences in Sol, destroyed the base on Luna, Earth's moon, and minutes later attacked Earth, striking all across the world, with one of the last places they landed being the supercity of Seattle-Vancouver, home of the military command of the Systems Alliance, quickly destroying it. Shepard his crew aboard the Normandy, Joker, Ashley, and Vega, were one of the only ones who made it off Earth alive. In a last minute transmission, Admiral Hackett, leader of the Alliance Navy, directed Shepard to go to the Prothean Archives, to recover the blueprints of a Prothean device discovered by Liara T'soni, an old friend. The last sight those aboard the Normandy saw were the burning of Earth, and the dozens of broken hulls and tattered carcasses that remained of the proud fleets that once stood watch over Earth and her people.

The Migrant Fleet; the Last Bastion of the Quarian Republic

Image

"Unity, Structure, Order, Family"

Korlus, Imir System, Eagle Nebula
The Conclave Chambers, Chamber of the 50,000, the Rayya

"Order! Order! Order!" cried Admiral Zaal'Koris, leaning forward from his central position, alongside his four other contemporaries, at the centre of the semi-circular room aboard the Rayya. It was gigantic, but no means spacious. It had multiple roles aboard this live ship - a bartering market, a dinning room, a distribution centre, and other such necessities - but today it was the parliamentary location of the last vestiges of the Quarian Republic. Xen folded her arms, Gerrel slammed his fist against the small hologram projecting table the five Admirals were standing around, Raan was visibly shaking and Koris was seething with rage from behind his visor. Only Admiral Tali'Zorah, the youngest and most travelled of the assembled troop remained cool and collected. Bickering, constant bickering. All the while the huge assembled members of every ship in the Migrant Fleet, some 50,000, were present and staring. Their faces were unknown, blank and emotionless as these polarised visors stared down at their superiors with content, confusion, fear and frustration.

"Ancestors... play it again." Raan said, a small croak for her voice.

And so it did. Once more did the projection from the Alliance News Network play. A Reaper, much like Sovereign, smashing through a building with relative ease before its main laser decimated a few buildings just across the road. More of these monstrosities were seen descending down behind them. This second time was too much, and Tali brought a hand to her face and held her visor tightly in her palming as she held back a few quiet sobs - the day Shepard had been saying would arrive for three years was finally here.

"Keelah... Commander Shepard... we owe him apologies and forgiveness..." Gerrel spoke through several sighs. The ageing warship held his hands behind his back, his white eyes being the only illumination behind his visor.

Raan spoke up next, shifting uncomfortably. "We owe him more than that! He was right!"

"And if we don't act," Tali began, wringing her hands together as she often did "The galaxy is going to be doomed; we need to help."

"I agree with Admiral Zorah!" Koris chimed in. "The Galaxy will be uni-"

"United?!" Gerrel shouted back. "Right, yes. Definitely united. The Salarians and Turians will run and hug the Krogan, and the Humans will be running through the fields with the Batarians." Koris was taken back, blinking rapidly. By now, the Conclave itself had stood up and, in an unprecedented manner in these military roles, began to voice their own opinions towards eachother. Members of the Outriders Coalition, whom had been invited to this event, too, joined the mass of voices that was spurring within the halls of the Rayya.

"Yes, united, Gerrel. What makes you think the citizens of the galaxy will aban-"

"They abandoned us! Remember?"

Raan and Tali both sighed heavily, and the Quarian of Clan Zorah took her initiative. "Will you two stop arguing for just one second? We clearly need to think about this in depth and carefully."

Now Gerrel hunched his shoulders, bringing his three fingered hand to his 'chin' and standing in thought. He looked up to the bickering members of the Conclave in their semi-circular seats and commanded all of them to be quiet in his stern manner.

"I ask you this. What do we do with our Civilians when fighting the Reapers? No where will be safe."

Now the Admirals looked at eachother, in thought. The Representatives sat silent too, watching with anticipation at the unfolding machinations within the Board. Now, for the first time since the session had been opened, Xen reclined back slightly from her position and stepped around the table. Her walk was slender and quicky, coming over to the holographic projection and yanking out the replaying video of the Reaper.

"Enough of this. The answer is very simple, it is merely that none of you wish to say it."

"We are not going to provoke the Geth into a war during this time of Galactic Crisis!" Koris objected, sternly. Tali nodded in agreement. Koris continued, resting against the table. "We promised the Council that we were never again going to attack the Geth!"

"Admiral Koris, Admiral Tali." Xen continued, tenting her fingers. "Ever since I unveiled the plans of my software to you and this Conclave those few weeks ago, all we have done is preparations for the inevitable. This raid on the Blue Suns for supplies, everything. We are gearing for war. All the stands in the way of this, is the deadlock between Gerrel and I and Tali and You."

"The Geth can be reasoned with!" Tali exclaimed.

"No they cannot!" The ageing warship declared. "How can we reason with the age-old enemy? We cannot. They drove us from our homes; they deserve to die. There is no other way in which we can contribute to the war effort if we have to move our Civilians around with us!"

"THE CIVILIAN FLEET DOES NOT WANT A WAR WITH THE GETH, ADMIRAL GERREL! IF THIS DECISION WAS UP TO THE CONCLAVE, WE WOULD NOT HA-"

"It is a great shame this is not up to the Conclave, Admiral Koris." Xen interjected, nodding calmly. "All military matters are taken by this board, not by the Conclave."

Now Tali shook her head again, her purple veil shaking as she did so. "You're insane, Xen."

Koris boarded the bandwagon. "And you are a warmongering lunatic, Gerrel."

"Better a warmonger than a Geth Sympathiser."

"That is enough! This Council is no longer in session! We shall continue at another time." Raan was clearly frustrated by this point, seething with masked rage behind her visor. It was known that the course the Quarian race was to take was dependent on her, and that was something that would incredibly stressful for anyone in that situation. Before she could be spoken to, she had already left. Behind her trailed Admiral Koris, after he had a few brief words with Tali. By the end, when the banisters had been cleared of the huge influx of people, only Han'Gerrel remained and staring blankly at the constant replaying of the Reaper. It was chilling, disturbing and filled him with the need to reclaim his home. No quarter would be given to a fleet of rusting metal.

Omega station, Sahrabik, Omega nebula
Image

Aria T'Loak watched the destruction of the human home world with interest, and grim amusement. The Systems Alliance will have to deal with bigger problems now rather than the presence of her crime syndicate smuggling contraband into the country. Where others sense disaster, and grief she sensed an opportunity to expand the influence of her syndicate. However, first she will need allies to help her in that goal.

Omega station is one of the most diverse places in the entire galaxy sporting almost all of the intelligent beings of the galaxy concentrated in one. Many would describe Omega station as the twin to the Citadel. But, Omega station is darker, and more violent than the Citadel can ever hope to be. There were three allies in the immediate vicinity that will give Omega an advantage in the coming war , Cerberus, the Batarians, and the Laternfolk. Although, it would be preferable to bring the three together on a negotiating table to figure out how they are going to defeat the reapers, Batarian, and human hostility will lead to an immediate breakdown of the alliance. Although, Omega, mostly due to its extremely diverse population will not object to any alliance. Ultimately it was decided that Cerberus alone would make a great ally, and the Laternfolk thrown in makes the deal even better so Aria decided to give Cerberus, and the Laternfolk some incentive to cooperate.

After her meeting with some of her advisers it was decided that the best course of action would be to approach Cerberus, and the Laternfolk with an offer of alliance. She sent her human adviser to Cerberus to negotiate the deal, and the specifics were worked out.

In return for access to Omega station for the purpose of observing a nearby collector base, the promise of sending some debtors to them, and giving them ten percent of monthly income, Cerberus pledged support for the conquest of the nearby system. That was all very good, and all. He send her other adviser, her bodyguard a Batarian named Bray to find the remainder of the Batarians. At this point the Batarians will have larger priorities rather than to squabble with some humans. Besides, if Aria cannot unite a majority of the forces of the Terminus, then there would not be any hope for repelling the reaper invasion or at the very least it will be repulsed with heavy casualties. With a clear goal in her head she decided to build up her forces, and infrastructure. She hopes that it Omega station will survive the coming war. The Laternfolk also agreed on a deal.

The Laternfolk asked for a loan of 400 credits with 10 percent a month simple interest. That can be done, and if the Laternfolk do not comply Omega can always just send some troops to threaten them.

That being said Omega is not an easy nut to crack. Omega station has a large concentration of defenses that can thwart even a massive dreadnought assault. However, she fears that it will not be enough. So she plans to expand Omega's influence by building more troops to defend Omega. She can always hire more expendable mercenaries, but what she really wanted was another elite formation loyal to her. She already has one of those, but she feels that another one will do her good. These men our some of the strongest marines in the entire galaxy. Many of whom were former Batarian, Krogan, or alliance soldiers. Another, way to expand Omega's influence will be the recruitment of more mercenaries to her station. A war is still fought and won in the hearts, and minds of the people, and she has not forgotten that, so she commissioned massive infrastructure improvements to Urdak for the sake of generating more revenue.

Anhur

In a dark room. There was only silence, despair, and agony. The room of the leader of the Laternfolk, the Lord Ashur Horton, was sitting in nothing but silence as the ANN was playing on repeat as the Reapers descended on Earth and massacred the fleet. There was no words among the generals and servants to the Lord as they watched in awe, malice, and fear as no guns were able to stop the rampage on Sol. Though many of the original Laternfolk were spacers, it didn't matter for they still considered Sol to be their Fertile Crescent, their home rendered to ash. Lord Ashur was a middle age man, no more in his late 40s and gray hairs were starting to show. Young for someone in this age, but he ruled with a iron fist and a religious hand.

The silence stopped when Ashur spoke," that's enough. Turn off the recording and put back on the lights" One of the servants did just that. With a few buttons on their omni-tool and the lights switched to a dim blue when the screen turned off. " Well my lord" One of the generals spoke, he was shorter than the rest but was no doubt the most respected. His name was General Hill and was known to be the first of the Laternfolk to be trained by the Eclipse and made out to be the most ruthless. He continued to spoke," you still want to open up to galaxy, only to be a target for those things?"

Ashur gave a sigh," if from the reports are true. Then it wouldn't matter if we do hide or fight, they will kill and slaughter. I think however that we already made up our minds. General Matthews, what have our scouts said about the clusters?" Matthews bowed and brought up his omni-tool to interface with a map of the Eagle Nebula and had shown information about each system," as you see my Lord, the Nebula is more of a mining cluster with Krogan, Vorcha, Hanar, and Drell colonies and mining clashes but they are weak if we are to divide and conquer. However, there is a large populated planet known as Korlus which has 3.8 billion and is full of smog. It is a heaven for junk and mercenaries such as the Eclipse, Blue Suns, and Blood Pack. Apparently Commander Sheppard was there but most of the information is under Alliance red tape and blacklisted."

Ashur nodded," I see, then this will be the first move into the system. Understand we are at a point of no return. The Reapers are here, they have already destroyed our Fertile Crescent. We must do what we can to survive, gather resources, grow our strength. The Latern must shine its beacon to the other people, rather they like it or not. There is no time to try and debate what is right or wrong for survival is at stake. Within the next few months, I want the cluster under our command, every alien subjugated, and every resistance snuffed out before it makes a threat. If you can make deals then do so. If not, kill them. This is my command, understand that we are at war and we must not be slowed down. You are dismissed."

So it was decided that the Laternfolk will march. Invasion of the Eagle Nebula for their need of growing their empire. This was the only means that they could survive. They knew the Reapers were coming and they need to be ready when the day came.

The next day with the soldiers preparing to go on their conquest was that one of the greatest things that had came to them. Aria T'loak, the criminal queen of Omega, had gave them the 400 credits that they needed to start researching on new ways to fight the Reapers. They built it in Anhur in secret as it will be needed.

They called it Project Ariel and it will start to something that it was obvious that they would've have in the first place.

278 credits per month
-200 for 2 urban areas in Korlus
- 15 for 1 fuel depot in Korlus
- 40 for 1 major industrial complex in Korlus
- 15 for 1 industrial complex in Korlus
- 7 for 1 gunship wing with heavy weapons and high quality armaments( 1 month)
1 credit left

393 credits per month
Other things
-400 for research station in Anhur

Research progress to Project Ariel: 0%

Clan Weyrloc were the last to submit, driven in to a dozen ruined buildings as they made a futile last stand in the name of their long-dead leader, a cunning runt by the name of Col. Wreav had smiled when he unleashed one of his missiles in to their defenses, allowing himself a moment of silence as the Clan chief witnessed his own military prowess in all of its stark beauty. Little greenery existed on Tuchanka, so Wreav had been glad to see himself as replacing the ancient art works with his new style of painting. The plumes of the missile's trajectory, the maneuverings of his battalions, they were the brush-strokes. The screams of the dying foe was the masterpiece.

He shall be permitted a day with the females, Wreav announced to the phalanx of servants he had arrayed before him. They numbered eighty, clan chiefs and venerated battlemasters all. Vassals, protectorates, unwilling allies and amalgamated foes, they each represented a part of Wreav's empire, each one a trophy upon the mantle of his ambition. Weyrloc had been the last of the old ancients to resist his supremacy, the last true voice of resistance.

It shall be done, intoned one of the Hailot shamans, inscribing it in to the records.

A good idea. Bureaucracy was not something true Krogan had any skill or interest in, but Wreav's territory spanned continents, from pole to pole. He needed records to keep everything in order. It was good practice for the future. And besides, he had enough humbled krogan to palm off in the direction of the support divisions.

And give the rest of Aralakh Company something else to occupy their time. Grunt was an interesting one, by far one of the finest warriors among Wreav's growing warhost. Bred from the greatest chiefs and trained by one of the most dangerous humans Urdnot Wreav had ever encountered, the tank-bred was a valuable asset in the coming days. His eagerness to prove himself one of the easiest points to manipulate.

What of the construction teams?

Tuchanka was thriving, the clans slowing being brought together in such a way as unseen since their heyday. It had been inevitable really, for one Krogan to become master over them all the people would unite against him, constructing the future for him. The alliances and unions against Wreav's empire were used as the base for his new faction. His nation.

Keep them on their tasks. I don't want us to have to use Pyjak burrows should any of them Reapers come looking for those terrifying monsters they heard of from the Council.

There was a faint ripple of grunting laughter among the bowed heads.

And get those trade agreements sent off! Tuchanka is open for business and I expect results.

STGHQ,
Sur'Kesh

Dalatrass Relbana had been in a meeting in her office when news of the Reaper attack on Earth came through. After an aide bursting into the room with the news, the Dalatrass quickly took an elevator in her office down to the Special Tasks Group Headquarters, miles below the Capitol building, and met with High Commander Gubame, the one responsible for overseeing the actions of the Salarian military, and the Operations Division of the STG.

"High Commander, the Reapers are here." said Relbana. "Yes, I've already mobilized our dreadnoughts to secure our Relay, and have begun to mobilize our Special Operations Assault Fleet, to conduct outside operations when necessary. The STG Operations Division has also been mobilized, and have begun deploying to various sites around the galaxy. 63 Specialists and over 300 operations teams have been requisitioned from the STG so far. We can call up more if needed." responded Gubame.

"Do it, and also get additional fleets mobilized, as well as ground forces. We'll need every Salarian we can get to answer the call of Sur'Kesh."
"I'll get the orders sent out now, Dalatrass."

Presidium Level | Citadel

Walking calmly through the sporadically populated Presidium, three professionally dressed Asari calmly walked along a polished white pathway and enjoyed the lavish scenery around them. The local flora was in full bloom this time of year, adding various shades of pink and purple to the already full pallet of colors that marked the artificial landscape around them, and bringing with it a fresh outlook for an otherwise sterile scene.

The group rounded a corner and found themselves in a vista cafe, overlooking a small bay in the Citadels reservoir system. The trio took pause for a moment to find some semi secluded seating, before each respectively pulled out a chair and seated themselves at the table.

"I do love this time of year." Said Matriarch Elna V'naara in a calm, yet direct voice. The Matriarch was wearing her traditional composite outfit, which was basically a basic protection suit disguised as everyday wear. A fairly standard affair, considering her rank and title among her people.

"As do I, Elna." Replied Tevos, who currently was the Asari Councilor on the Citadel. She was wearing her traditional flowing gown that she was often seen in public wearing. "No matter how many times I'm here to see it, the absolute grander of the Citadel never ceases to amaze me."

The third Asari, who was wearing a custom set of Predator Armor, specifically manufactured for her by Armax Arsenal with no expense spared, just leaned back in her chair and crossed her armored arms across her chest without uttering a sound. She really had no interest in such pointless small talk, and thus chose to partake in none of it. Instead, she glanced around at the various people populating the immediate area attempting to get a feel for the overall mood of the people.

"Dare I say, you almost look bored Nyxani." Cooed V'naara from her seat playfully.

"Indeed she does." Chimed in Tevos with a smile. "You really shouldn't be uptight all the time, and learn to relax when you get the opportunity child. Goddess knows the Spectre life rarely allows for such amenities in the first place."

Spectre Cyla Nyxani just rolled her eyes in jest and shook her head before going back to passively scanning the surrounding area.

The two women shared a collective laugh for a moment, before getting down to this mornings business.

"Tevos, have you seen the current report coming from the Alliance about the invasion of the world, Earth? I think it's their home world." Asked V'naara as she produced a data slate containing various feeds from numerous news agencies concerning the ongoing event.

"I have V'naara, but by the Goddess, I had no idea that it was this bad." She said as she browsed over a live feed coming from a place called London. "I've already issued a summons for the Councilors for an emergency session to hopefully take place sooner rather then later so we can discuss this... incident."

"The council can only do so much in times such as these, and even then a proper response might not be forthcoming due to traditional political red tape." Said Nyxani suddenly, bringing to surface an underlying truth to the whole situation. "We need to act now, before it's too late."

Both the Councilor and the Matriarch paused for a moment, and exchanged glances back and forth before silently nodding in agreement.

"A full mobilization won't be overnight, and anyone thinking it would be is an absolute moron. As such, I will immediately send word back to Thessia to have our fleets and soldiers start mobilizing for war immediately."

"That won't be enough, I'm afraid. We should also start increasing our government stockpiles of basic consumables as well, just in case this incident isn't as isolated as we believe it to be."

A soft musical chime iminating from the Councilors omni tool broke the conversation, which indicated that fellow Councilors were starting to arrive at the meeting.

"I'm afraid that I'm going to have to cut this little gathering short." Stated Tevos before all three of the Asari rose to their feet."Please, keep me informed of our overall progress on the home front."

"Likewise Councilor." Replied V'naara with a smile before she turned and parted ways with the Councilor and the Spectre.

The two Asari then themselves, turned and started to make their way towards Citadel Tower.

"I have a special mission for you Nyxani, one that I feel is right up you're ally...."

Nyxani grinned slyly upon hearing these words, as it usually meant that some actual excitement was finally coming her way.

Thessia

News of the sudden and unprovoked attacks against the Humans quickly reached the Asari home world and it's people soon after the attacks began. Most of the population upon learning of the attacks could only watch the feeds in stunned disbelief at the footage they were seeing and the total devastation that was befalling the humans. The Asari people lived a rather safe and cushy lifestyle, with wars and violence overall a uncommon occurrence for large parts of the population. Seeing such an attack on such a large scale was something they almost couldn't comprehend.

As such, when orders reached the Republic for the immediate and full mobilization of the Asari military, It took a few moments for the reality and gravity of the situation to sink in as a mobilization of this scale hadn't been seen since the Raccnai wars. Reserve units were activated, security at ports of entry was increased, fleets were being assembled and resupplied with wartime payloads, and active patrols of all Asari claimed systems were established.

Alongside this mobilization, the civilian sector as well underwent it's own mobilization as well alongside that of the authorities. Earth had a population of around twelve billion people, with an estimated tens of millions more temporary transitional personal as well on the planet at any given time. With the severity of the attacks, it was only inevitable that refugees numbering in the millions would be soon arriving on every doorstep that they could make it to in the surrounding area. As such, various foreign aid foundations and charities immediately went into overdrive preparing for the inevitable by collecting medical supplies, potable water, and basic amenities and consumables that would be in short supply.

Hopefully, the Asari wouldn't be along in this endeavor.

Korlus

The sounds of gunfire and screams can be heard in the planet of junk and gangs. The Laternfolk came in the thousands and surprised the disorganized people of Korlus and started to march length around the rural outskirts but many of the cities started to have some form of an organized defense. The Laternfolk was starting to send in more reinforcements to bring down the resistance despite it being them being mostly crushed by month's end. However, Lord Ashur had an idea in order to bring the world into a full subjugation.

Among the common criminals and mercs that were getting gunned down or forced to conscripted such as the Blue Suns, there were also Krogan and Vorcha clans that could be of some use if they were to fallen in line with the Folk. Many of them were considered to be of more use then the Blue Suns if they wouldn't get in the way. General Hill was a bit annoyed at the thought of getting the support of the Krogan and Vorcha yet he knew that they can support the Infantry with the numbers and strength that allows them to quickly take the Nebula. However, there was the point of trying to get their economy up and ready to start feeding the military once the debt is paid in full.

One of the things they needed to start looking for was another world where they could rely on for more troop mobilization and gathering of resources. The Eagle Nebula only had two worlds that were really worth anything in the eyes of the Laternfolk as they were looking to quickly expand their economy to support their military. The Laternfolk started to send out explorers to other Nebulas to actually see what's out there. Two privately owned scouting parties were sent into the Crescent Nebula and the Ismar Frontier in order to find planets that are worth to pour into the credits and the manpower if need be.

"Unity, Structure, Order, Family"

Korlus, Imir System, Eagle Nebula
Admiral Zorah's 'Private Chambers', The Neema

"Tali'Zorah vas Normandy."

It had quite the ring to it. She never had gotten over that. Powerful memories of roughly 8 months or so prior came to the Admiral's mind. The stern voice of her Captain, putting down the members of the Admiralty Board one by one and the support of her friends; Veetor and Kal'Reegar. Then the Conclave rose up in her defence. The Board was taken aback, called out on what Shepard aptly called 'total bullshit.' She smiled, blushed and lightly sobbed at the memory. She had been mortified at the meeting just a few days before, but she couldn't break in front of the 50,000, Xen, Koris, Gerrel and... Auntie Raan. She had a duty, a duty to her people. But here, in the small but thankfully private room she had been given aboard the Neema, all could come out as she let her emotions loose. She sat on the ground, wrapping her arms around her knees and rocking back and forth slightly. I miss him so much. He's out there... She brought her left hand to a small framed photograph she had taken on her time on the SR-2. A parting gift between Shepard and herself. She had her duty, he had hers. They had communicated back and forth from time to time, the odd warm message, the general checking up on. But with the tensions of the Board, her promotion and Shepard's grounding little could be done and said. Tali sniffed, standing up slightly and making her way towards a small and quaint terminal she kept in her room. The reflection of the monitor starting up spread across her visor and her eyes darted back and forth as she read the latest reports. Earth, like Khar'shan before it, was now at the forefront of the Reaper invasion. She could feel her tears trail down her cheeks, before she began to open her mail account and begin to type up a message. She hoped, with all the power of the Ancestors before her, the message would be received.

Current Situations

To: Commander Shepard
From: Tali'Zorah vas Normandy

Keelah, Shepard...

I don't know where to even begin. I know we tried to keep up with the... messages, but well, we both had our people need us. I can't even begin to think how you must be. It hurts. We've got our work cut out for us, don't we...? Keelah I don't really want to strike something in a troubled time like this...

I just wanted to let you know, if you even get this, that I'm here if you need to talk... if you still want to talk, I mean, I... Its been three weeks, I know, its been rough for both of us and now I'm projecting my defence mechanism onto this message and its stupid. I love you, Shepard. I always will.

Things aren't too good here at the moment, there are... problems, facing the Board at the moment. Ancestors, I can only hope the worst doesn't come. But really, I don't think it can compare to what you must be facing. I'll try to convince the Admirals that we need to help, to stand together... but it'll be tough.

I really don't know what to say, I'm so confused... worried, with everything. I just want to know... how you are, how you're doing and if you need anything...

Keelah se'lai,
Tali.

After hitting 'send', all the Quarian Admiral could was wring her hands in a mixture of sadness, frustration and confusion. She felt empty, blank, wanting. She couldn't dwell on it. She couldn't. She slowly stood up, sniffling quietly and striding out of her room. Work needed to be done.

Korlus

The Quarians almost posed a great hassle to them if they didn't told them about their invasion. They did agree that the invasion wasn't on their minds and allowed the fleets to invade the world without impunity. General Hill was glad for if they would've join in the defense of the world then they would've been killed outright. This was even better so that the campaign to unite the Eagle Nebula under their rule in order to do things such as pay off the loan from the criminal warlord.

The lab started to open in Anhur and that was good. Project Ariel had started to be an idea but it started to be fed with large stacks of Helium-3 in order to make fusion energy, a common source of fuel for ships and in some degree, power plants. It was among the first steps to helping make the project come to life so that they might fight the Reapers.

The Krogans and Vorcha of several clans had started to come into the fold of the Laternfolk in exchange for things such as guns and credits. It will come in handy that they can work on teaching several Vorcha clans in the ways of fighting and formal practical training. The Krogans will also come in handy since their skill in combat and natural physic will allow them to make the perfect shock troops to crush any and all resistance and to coordinate mix units of savage Vorcha and battle-hardened Krogan will come in handy in the long run.

General Howard actually loved the idea of using aliens that have better skills than the Marines and has became a strong advocate of using both humans and aliens if they can serve the Laternfolk with their abilities. This will provide a surge of manpower that will help the Laternfolk in the long run and Lord Ashur was convinced to allow those clans that joined to train and coordinated their clans in Anhur since they have better training facilities and programs than anywhere else in the Nebula. They started to work on incorporating the programs once Korlus falls to them by next month, as General Hill ensures as goes about slaughtering anyone or anything that has a gun pointed at an Acolyte.

Primarch Fedorian, Palaven

The Primarch stared dead ahead at the footage, watching how the Reapers tore through Earth's defences with ease. Hundreds of thousands at least had died in the first few minutes. "I've never seen such strength." He admitted, enviously. During and after the Contact War decimating the humans home planet was something even the turians would find a challenge, and impossible in the time the Reapers had succeeded. The power the Reapers had was clear, and upon watching the destruction of the humans home thought back to how the turians themselves fought war. Victory was not enough, the enemy needed to be defeated so badly they would cease to be a threat. The Reapers wanted this too, but the threat only ceased along with all life.

Fedorian recalled Sovereign. It had taken a great deal of their fleets to take out just one Reaper, with major losses and only after it had lost its shielding. And from the footage, a lot of them seemed even bigger than Sovereign, much bigger. "We are not strong enough to defeat them on our own." Fedorian said bitterly, squinting at the image of Councillor Sparatus. "The best course of action for us is to hold a war summit. It is not only the council races who can solve this problem. We require Hanar, Quarians, Elcor, Volus, Drell, the Krogan..." He listed them off. The xenophobes, anti-humans, and anti-Krogan amongst him all disagreed. But he would do it anyway. It simply made it easier with the Councillor's support. Fortunately he agreed.

"Time is of the essence. We have no idea when and where the Reapers will strike next." He paused. "We have no idea on them at all." However there was a turian who knew more of the threat than many, likely any. "Get me Garrus Vakarian." He said, ignoring the mumblings of Sparatus.

"Primarch," He nodded. "How does it look?"

"As bad as your face." Fedorian mocked. "However you can improve our odds. Your Reaper task force will be receiving a lot more funding and men, this is now our number one priority. In return I would like you to provide what you know on the Reapers... Now we are willing to listen. This is what we known the Reaper ground force to be made up of." He showed the footage. One was clearly human, the other he had not seen before.

Garrus observed for a second. "The Reapers are capable of corrupting races, I saw it twice previous with Shepard. Humans, and Protheans. The humans are these, as you will known." He tapped the moving image of a Husk. "But these are..." Garrus studied the creature eating one of its own.

"Cannibals?"

"Interesting name, and they are, but... But there has only been one other race attacked by the Reapers so far."

"Vakarian, you are saying those things are Batarians?" Fedorian narrowed his eyes and stared intently. They still seemed as killable, at least.

"Those Cannibals are Batarians, correct. Of course, we haven't seen what exciting monstrosity the Reapers will make of us yet."

"So what are the Reapers war aims, will they be enslaving us?"

"Utterly wiping us all out I believe, just what happened to the Protheans."

"Everyone is a target, They could strike anywhere." Ferodian leaned in to stare at the galaxy map. "They could wreak havoc planet to planet, all the way from Earth, or..." He speculated the Reapers had enough strength to do this, however if he wanted to do it quicker and less casualties... "They will go for high priority targets first. Attacks on Thessia, Sur'Kesh, even Palaven. General Victus, prepare our defenses. Vakarian, you're with me. The rest of you - dismissed." He waved a hand away, seeking to contact as many influential leaders as possible.

Commander Shepard,

The Reapers are now upon us, and it is our duty to repel them. These monsters from dark space seek to wipe out us all, and unless we can unite the galaxy against the real enemy the Reapers will succeed. I reach out to you as we need your experience in fighting this enemy if we are to have any chance in winning the war, and as a neutral figure the galaxy and all who fight in favour of life can get behind. I intend to call a War Summit, with your ship the neutral territory for all parties to negotiate. Your role is crucial, and I trust you understand this and will thus accept.

Primarch Fedorian

Matriarch Elna V'naara,

The threat that attacked Earth was, undoubtedly, the Reapers. Turian scientists have compared weapons used by Earth's attackers to Sovereign's salvaged main gun. The weapons are identical. The Reapers are a greater threat than any race on its own, only together can we achieve victory, and as one of the galaxy's strongest forces the Asari are in particular crucial to this. You must attend the War Summit at the SSV Normandy.

Primarch Fedorian

Urdnot Wreav,

The threat that attacked Earth was, undoubtedly, the Reapers. Turian scientists have compared weapons used by Earth's attackers to Sovereign's salvaged main gun. The weapons are identical. I am told that the Reapers wish to wipe out all life. They do not take into account race, religion, nor rivalry, preferring to kill us all. The bad blood between Turians and the Krogan will mean nothing if Palaven and Tuchanka run red. In these dire times I ask you to attend a War Summit at the SSV Normandy, for the sake of the galaxy.

Primarch Fedorian

Dalatrass Relbana,

The threat that attacked Earth was, undoubtedly, the Reapers. Turian scientists have compared weapons used by Earth's attackers to Sovereign's salvaged main gun. The weapons are identical. The Reapers are a greater threat than any race on its own, only together can we achieve victory, and as one of the galaxy's strongest forces the Salarians are in particular crucial to this. You must attend the War Summit at the SSV Normandy.

Primarch Fedorian

To the Admiralty Board,

The threat that attacked Earth was, undoubtedly, the Reapers. Turian scientists have compared weapons used by Earth's attackers to Sovereign's salvaged main gun. The weapons are identical. Many amongst us believe this to be humanity's problem, and not ours. They are wrong. The Reapers will destroy all life, whether it be Quarian, Batarian, Turian, or Human. You will not need reminding that the Geth have previously assisted the Reapers, making you at risk of being attacked by two races of synthetics. Your kind is in a precarious position due to your fleet, one Reaper attack could end you. These are desperate times for all of life. Let us resolve our differences at the War Summit at the SSV Normandy, and defeat this threat, save Earth, and in time, your own homeworld.

Primarch Fedorian

As the client race of the Turians you are required to send a representative on the behalf of the Volus to the War Summit at the SSV Normandy.

Office of the Dalatrass,
Sur'Kesh

Dalatrass Relbana had received word of the Primarch's war summit request through an aide, and quickly tapped off a reply.

Primarch Fedorian,

Of course, the Salarians will attend this summit, this is a time of action, preferably through subtlety and intelligence, but against a foe of this might, direct action with high risks may be necessary.

There is one concern, however, and that is of course, the Krogan.
If the Krogan attend this summit, their representative, Wreav or one of his "Battlemasters" or "Warlords" or whatever name that barbaric, over-reproducing armoured lizard calls them MUST remain stable. I will send High Commander Gubame, the Salarian in charge of our military operations as the Salarian representative. I cannot afford to have the Krogan punch his head in, we need him for our war effort. Make sure he's safe, and lives, and preferably sleeps on a different deck than the Krogan representative with a number of armed guards and blast doors in between them.

Respectfully,
Dalatrass Relbana

"A meeting with all the players in the galaxy, including the possibility of having a Krogan, Turian, and a Salarian all on the same ship... This will be nothing less than interesting..." The Dalatrass taps a button on her intercom system. "Gubame, report to my office."

A few minutes later, Gubame appears from the STGHQ.

"Dalatrass, how can I be of service?" Gubame says as he takes a seat

"Primarch Fedorian has called a war summit to take place aboard the SSV Normandy, Commander Shepard's ship. I want you to serve as the Union's representative. Our Special Operations Fleet will escort you to the Normandy, and we'll send some Specialists and SpecOps teams as additional security aboard our fleet should some.. pleasantries arise between us and whomever else may attend.. Most notably the Krogan. You'll be travelling aboard the S.U.V. Spectre's Wrath, one of our five stealth-capable dreadnoughts for the voyage. At a later date we may add a heavy carrier for command and control purposes, but for now, use the Wrath, that should be enough. Pack your bags, hopefully we'll know the location of the summit in short order."
"Yes Dalatrass, I'll be ready to go in about 30 minutes.," Gubame says as he gets up to leave. "This is Gubame, ready a Lander to take me to my base housing, and then to the Special Operations Fleet." he said as he was walking out of the Dalatrass' office.

Commander Shepard,
Normandy, en route to
Prothean Archives,
Mars

Commander Shepard was watching out of one of the windows in the cargo bay while several crew members performed weapons and gear checks on his armour, rifle, and pistol, and ensuring his Tech Armor projectors and biotic amp interfaces checked out. Vega had been constantly bugging him the whole ride in about Shepard's call to abandon Earth after being ordered to by Admiral Anderson. Shepard talked him down successfully, and Vega went on to check on his gear after mumbling something about the Commander being 'positively loco'. Ashley had been off by herself since the Normandy left the Earth, just holding her rifle as if waiting for Shepard to turn on the crew.

After a short sigh, Shepard opened his omni-tool, and saw a message from Tali, and another from Primarch Fedorian of the Turian Hierarchy.

To: Tali'zorah vas Normandy
From: Commander Shepard

Tali.. It's not a good sight on Earth.. I do appreciate the message, and you're right, I wish I could've done better in keeping in touch with you.

We're on our way to the Prothean Archives on Mars, to try to find some.. blueprints that Liara found. May be something, may be nothing, the connection with Hackett briefing me on whatever it is we're trying to find was pretty bad.

I miss you, Tali, and love you too. Hopefully we'll run into each other soon, but it's impossible to tell when that'll be, with everything.

I do hope all with the Board works out, regardless of what's happening at Earth, I can't imagine it's easy over there, either. I do appreciate you trying to help, at this point any help could mean a world of difference to every man and woman who survived and left Earth.. The colonies are going to get pretty hectic, I found out Arcturus Station got hit and destroyed as well, leaving the Alliance with practically no leadership. It looks like Udina is in charge now, which isn't good for anyone.. I know Anderson will do well leading the resistance on Earth, but if he was our Councilor instead of Udina, I have a feeling this war would be just that much more in our favour.. I wish he hadn't resigned..

Anyways, I have a message from the Primarch, I should probably get to that, there isn't much time left until we get to Mars.

I really do miss you Tali. I could use you here by my side. Do well with the Fleet, for me, please, try to get them to see the reality of what's going on.

Keelah se'lai, Tali. Stay safe.
- Shepard.

Shepard hit send on the message, and paused for a moment, missing Tali, his best friend, and more than that.. But he had a mission to do, and had to get back to it.

To: Primarch Fedorian
From: Commander Shepard

Primarch,

Absolutely, the Normandy can be used for such a purpose after we get out of Sol. I have a mission to take care of before we can leave, but I'll make that summit a high priority. Just let me know where and when you'll need her. Could you send me a guest list? I'll need to see if any special accommodations to attend to, such as if Krogan and the Salarians attend. That'd need some special requirements to take care of.

Shepard

Lorek

Gathe stood on the bridge of his famous Dreadnaught The Prodigy, looking out to his small fleets. His four eyes turning to blazing look upon the images of Kar'shan from months ago and the new images of Earth which gave him both glee and strange sorrow. He always believed the Hegemony will be the one to destroy the humans.

"Stealth Flotilla,go on and scout the this Attican Empire on Virmire"he said over the comm channel and the small contention of ships lurched forward towards the relay and headed to Virmire to scout out the colony to see if it was worth a raid.

As his stealth fleet did its job he actives the Virtual Com channel to try and hail Aria on the nearby Omega station. He hated having to do this but his people would need all the help he can muster.

Earth

The Reapers attacked Earth with overwhelming force. The fleets that had been stationed there and elsewhere in the Sol system had been defeated in minutes, the few stragglers left alive had limped to the Mass Relay and made a run for it, leaving the system to the Reapers. Billions of humans were now stranded and at the absent mercy of their invaders. But they were not fully alone. Units from the Systems Alliance armed forces were present on earth and were already fighting tooth and nail, evacuating civilians as best they could. Using the massive network of ground defenses that had been built up over the decades they seemed to be holding the line, at least in a few areas. But it was a fight they would lose in the long run, and they knew it. Morale was surprisingly high, now that the news of Admiral Anderson had stayed behind to lead the, and the fact that they were all now fighting for their home world, and the future of their species at that.

Casualties were immense, however, and the Reapers had already attacked a large selection of Earths major cities. Evacuations were underway, but ultimately unless the navy sent in transports to get some people off the planet, it wasn't doing much good, besides providing a steady stream of people willing to fight. Militias were already being formed to aid the regular forces as best they could. But with most not having proper training, and with no time to really train them...results were mixed. All they could do though was to continue fighting, and hope for the best.

1st Marine Division, attached to 4th Fleet, experimental transport

General Eva Hauser was keeping herself busy. Weapons and armor check, ensuring her marines were squared away. Anything to keep her mind off of what was happening on Earth, or anywhere in the Sol system. She and her marines, along with the rest of the SA Marine Corps, had barely escaped the Reapers when they landed on Luna, all 6 divisions of the Corps rushing to the experimental Alliance transports that were also there, planned to be part of a joint exercise with the rest of the 4th Fleet. The stealth systems on the ships seemed to have done their job, and they went right by the Reapers. She had been wondering if their senors could pick up the ships even with the stealth systems in use, after all they were much more advanced then anything the Systems Alliance had run into, but it seemed they couldn't. She didn't think they would just let the ships get away either. From the brief experience of seeing them, she doubted they were the kinds of enemies to allow people to escape.

Now the 4th Fleet, those ships that had been in-system anyway, were making their way towards the Mass Relay to get out of the system and regroup with the rest of the fleet wherever it was, and to prepare for the worst war they would ever see.
"We've lost control! Now for the love of Earth...and the Sovereign Colonies, we've got to do what's right."

The plans that Aria set in motion are unfolding spectacularly, and with great success, Cerberus has agreed on an alliance with her syndicate, and the negotiations with the laternfolk are just about to conclude, and initial reports are highly promising. The Laternfolk seem to want use of her syndicate's one research station for the research of their top secret project that they are so reluctant to release information about. However, once Aria heard about the Laternfolk unwillingness to share their research between her syndicate she ordered her head negotiator to give them a counteroffer or her syndicate will walk away from the bargaining table, and leave the Laternfolk without access to the research station, failure to provide all details of the project to Omega will result in the discontinuation of Omega's possible intervention if the contract is signed. However, the recent developments in Earth worried her however.

The attack on the human home world has demonstrated how powerful the reapers are, and she fears that if she does not prepare Omega will end in spectacular failure just like the human homeworld. She was worried that even though her defenses in the system were formidable for any army to thwart conventionally, the reapers are not a conventional army by any stretch of the imagination what so ever. What the attack on Earth has shown is that they were capable of fielding powerful dreadnoughts far beyond what anybody in the galaxy can build. The funny thing was that she felt that the large ships almost felt sentient, as they were able to respond to attacks with such precision that ship crews are normally not capable of. However, she quickly dismissed that thought the ships of course were not sentient why would they be, she bet that the weird zombie like things that the collectors made are probably piloting the vessels. She knew that the reapers were going to be a formidable foe when the reapers strike Omega, all she could do now was to prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

Just as Aria was ready to go to her quarters for some well deserved rest, she got a message from her favorite Batarian besides Bray, her bodyguard. It Gathe Gegracher the Batarian slaver that Omega sometimes helps, but not with slavery as that might cause chaos in the station from the non-Batarian residents. He sometimes visited the station, but the human residents of the station are out of bounds for the Batarian slaver. The comm message was trying to hail her, she decided to respond.

So my Batarian slaver, what brings you to Omega this time of the year? Do you require my assistance?

The Hierarchy want us to come to a war summit, announced the messenger, forced to call it out several times so that Wreav's court could hear.

I like that word: "court". Just like a King. An Emperor.

We had best pull the Council's ass out of the fire, Wreav grumbled to those closest to him, waiting on a laugh that did not come.

All the clan leaders had been privy to the news feeds coming in from Earth. Some had even managed to source a few pict-feeds from Batarian space. Neither of them made for good viewing. A Krogan loves a good fight, but this had a different feel to the Rachni Invasions. This was more, detached and yet, more primal. Wreav could not explain it. No chief could word it. The Genophage had left its heavy mark on their people, weakening them, morphing them in to something different. Something that may not be able to stand against the Reapers.

I want trade lanes opened up between Tuchanka and your colonies.  I will let you know now that you will regard my terms as high, but when I see those Reapers I recall my people's finest hour.  You have seen our statue in the Citadel.  Remember that if these talks go ahead.

Anhur,
Amun System,Eagle Nebula

" She wants what now!?" A loud sound echoed throughout the chambers of the temple that reside the capital of the Laternfolk and the capital of their religious faction. A man in a gas mask and a hood on his face was with Lord Ashur and the representative from Aria's syndicate. Lord Ashur was sitting with composure as the man on his right was screaming through his mask and the computerized voice," why should we give her the details of the project? I say that we shoul.." Lord Ashur put his hand up and said," enough Professor."

" But my Lord I..."
" I said enough!"

He fell silent as he listen to Lord Ashur gave a deep sigh as he turn back to the representative," understand I don't enjoy doing this as much as the Professor, but time is of the essence and the Reapers might come any minute. I will tell diverge the information to you for this deal to work." An Omni-tool popped up on the Lord's arm and it showed the blueprints of seen as a weapon. " This is Project Ariel. I won't bore you with the details but this is basically the first generation of a practical direct energy weapon used for ships. We believe that this will equal the playing field against the Reapers. We believe from the reports that they have the same type of shielding that every single ship has. It maybe more advanced, but we haven't faced one to see if this would work."

The Professor finally spoke," all we need is access to the research center to speed up the work. We will give her what we need but we also want the interest from the debt to be gone. It is so that we can get the economy up so that we can make sure that we can pay the debt quicker. We will sign the deal of the alliance, but don't count on it so much." Ashur gave a sigh and signed the deal and walked out. It was a necessary evil but they knew that the idea of energy weapon against the Reapers maybe the first idea to start trying to fight them back. Hopefully it will work.

Heshtok,Hatash

Bakal Vush sat upon his rubbled thrown to watched the cracked screen of a television broadcasting the destruction of Earth. The towering Reapers rippling buildings and vaporizing entire platoons of Humans in quick decisive manor along with Cannibals terrorizing the fleeing population. The other Vorcha snarled and claws their way through to see these machines in action, one yelling at the TV to tell a human screaming into he camera to "get out of way".

Bakal stood up and turned to Gax Krel,"Prepare packs now!"he snarled and Gax grunting while he nodded unleashed his omni tool to send a message to all Vorcha packs to assemble and prepare Heshtok for war against the machines if they come to Heshtok."If Reapers come,we tea them apart with our hands and burn their corpses!"Bakal proclaimed over his thrown room, his wrist gauntlets breaking forth to unleash two large flames that made the air itself burn.

"Vorcha be ready for machines"he said with the toothless grin a Vorcha can give before thrusting his Garl Spike thrower in the air which soon followed by other Vorcha. They all hisses and screamed of "Baaahh" before rushing out, climbing over each other to be the first ones to their war posts.

Strenuus System,
Horse Head Nebula

High Commander Gubame was sitting on the bridge of the "Spectre's Wrath," one of the five Salarian stealth Dreadnoughts, the only ships of their kind in existence, relying upon reverse-engineered Tantalus Drive Core technology, adapted and engineered to comply with Salarian ship-building standards. The fleet has been patrolling for the past few days while waiting for the location of the War Summit to arrive from Primarch Fedorian, and has orders to drop whatever it's doing to meet up with the Normandy, wherever it'll be.

The fleet had just dropped out of FTL in Strenuus minutes beforehand, and was running an active scan of the system, looking for any signs of hostile, or heaven forbid, Reaper activity, which gave Gubame the chance to send off a few trivial messages that he had put off long enough.

"High Commander, positive contact." said one of the Wrath's flight lieutenants. "Reading.. A light cruiser, with a handful of frigates, two corvette packs, and a fighter wing. They appear to be preying on a civilian convoy escaping from Human space."

"Well, that's what we're here for until we get the message from the Normandy. Navigator, lay in an intercept course, Comms, set condition one throughout the fleet. FTL when ready."

After a small chorus of "Aye!"'s and "Yes, sir!"'s, the fleet had aligned to the source of the convoy, and engaged FTL. The stealth systems could still handle several more hours of use, thankfully the STG had seen fit to engineer additional cooling system supports into the stealth drives in order to improve cloak time, and overall combat endurance.

After several minutes, as this was a short in-system FTL jump, the navigator announced they'd be dropping out in 30 seconds. "Fleet, on drop, await my orders for combat operations. These appear to be pirates, regular brigands, no match for our fleet. Regardless, be prepared to disperse should it be required." Gubame nodded to the Comms officer to keep the channel open as they drop out of FTL. A series of 'fwoomp's could be heard as the ship's auto sound generator attempted to compensate for the lack of sound in space, and prevent the crew from being annoyed at the sheer quiet.

"Carriers, prepare to launch fighters. Cruisers and frigates, full forward, prepare to meet the enemy head on. Destroyers, situate yourselves between the main line and our Dreadnoughts and Carriers to screen against their fighter craft." The ships in the fleet responded immediately, thanks to Salarian naval training, and a Salarian's tendency for extreme focus. The pirates never broke their attack off, the stealth systems were doing their job, and even if the Salarian fleet was noticed, it would be too late. "Fleet, disengage stealth systems! Carriers, launch all interceptors, cruisers and frigates, open fire!"

Within seconds, the Thanix cannons equipped on every frigate and cruiser lit up the darkness of space, if only for a brief moment, as the plasma bolts streaked across the field, striking the hulls of their targets with impunity. The cruisers had focused their fire on the pirate cruiser, cracking it near instantaneously, while the Salarian frigates hammered into the pirate frigates. One managed to take several hits before it's core overloaded and it succumbed to the fire from the Salarian fleet. The fighters and corvettes, however, were much more quick to respond, with the corvettes taking only glancing hits before managing to break off and attempt to run away, while the fighters did the same. Unfortunately for the enemy fighters, they broke off in the direction of the Salarian destroyer contingent. Wether a result of a panic, or the horrible action of their squadron leader, they flew right into the path of the destroyer's light Thanix guns, which, when coupled with their enhanced sensors, offered a wall of anti-strike craft fire that would give even military-trained pilots pause and challenge. The fighters suffered dozens of losses before breaking through the line, blindly running at the remaining bulk of the Salarian Assault fleet. At this point, the interceptors launched from the escort carriers took over. The five interceptor squadrons moved in close formation, and unleashed a wall of fighter-mounted GARDIAN fire, eviscerating the remaining dozen or so enemy fighters.

The pirate Corvettes, however, were still attempting to run from the field of battle, burning at full speed away from the fight, while spooling up their FTL drives. The Salarian fleet had moved into a position behind them, attempting to blast the enemy ships to pieces before they could escape and alert any others they may have been working with. The corvettes attempted to dive and weave through the wall of fire coming from behind them, with limited success. Several corvettes took hits, and a few were destroyed before the final two or three corvettes finally managed to engage their FTL drive, and evacuate the area.

"Excellent work fleet. Regroup on the civilian convoy, all strike craft dock at your carriers, and everyone perform a damage assessment." said Gubame before walking over to the Comms station, and contacting the civilian convoy. "This is High Commander Gubame of the Salarian military. What is your status, do you require assistance?"

"No, but thank you. We took some damage, and we'll have to abandon one of our ships, however the faster we can get out of here, the better, so we'll just leave it. Would it be too much trouble for you to scuttle it for us? We have nothing more than pea shooters on these freighters." said the convoy captain on the other line.

"Will do. Let us know once it's clear, and we'll remove it. We'll provide cover for you in the meantime." After about 30 minutes of seeing small shuttles move between the freighters, the all clear was given by the convoy. "Tactical, prepare main gun. Offline safeties, acquire lock." "Target lock acquired, High Commander." "Fire".

At that call, a single round from the Wrath's main Thanix gun flew from the barrel at a fraction of the speed of light, and a second later, pierced the hull of the freighter, going straight through the core, and causing the freighter to instantly annihilate itself, as the round continued to fly through as if nothing was ever in its way.

"Objective complete. Good luck convoy, best of luck." said High Commander Gubame before cutting the channel. "Fleet, vent all combat heat, and prepare to FTL to the relay. We're leaving the nebula."

'I wonder how long we'll have to keep this up', though Gubame. 'Hopefully not much longer.. Shepard should be out here soon. Then we can get down to the real business of this time; dealing with the Reapers..'

"Alright fleet, spool up FTL drive cores.... Jump!"

The Migrant Fleet; the Last Bastion of the Quarian Republic

Image

"Unity, Structure, Order, Family"

Korlus, Imir System, Eagle Nebula
Chamber of the 50,000, the Rayya

"What you say is against everything we stand for!" shouted the Representative of the Fonrar, one of the Heavy Cruisers that was somewhat modern and up-to-date. Clearly a member of Han's Camp, he was quite large for a Quarian. "I know I speak for the entirety of the Heavy Fleet, when I say that war with the Geth is the only option."

"You may speak for the Heavy Fleet," responded a feminine voice from across the Chamber. Up stood the Representative of the Bersk, previously a Turian Vessel that had been purchased and refitted for the fleet. "But the Civilian Fleet has no want for war, and if we were to go via numbers alone, we bring you down by the majority." Nods and claps erupted amongst the majority of the representatives of the civilian fleet, and those of the Heavy and Patrol exchanged glances at the thunderous applause.

"It is a great shame neither of your words may count in the grand scheme of things, my fellow representatives. It was long established that military matters fall to the board, you have your civility and internal affairs, we have this." barked Admiral Gerrel, folding his arms.

"You surely cannot believe you can force the civilians who don't want this conflict to merely keel over and die at your requests?" a scoff erupted from Admiral Koris' helmet. "I knew you were a madman, but I never took you for an imbecile Gerrel."

Gerrel grit his teeth, and Xen feigned an apathetic dismissal. Koris was outgunned, Tali and Raan were being delayed and Xen and Gerrel had taken it upon themselves to try to corner the lone Admiral in an 'unofficial' bit of 'banter' prior to the real discussions. The Admiral of the Civilian Fleet could only take so much.

"I am no imbecile, Koris. Do you doubt the intelligence of your fellow Quarians to promote an imbecile to Admiral of the Heavy Fleet...? Well, I suppose you as a Geth Sympathiser would view both our current and ancestral Quarians as imbeciles, too." A variety of 'ohhhs!' and 'BOHS!' erupted from the Conclave and Koris slung his head down slightly.

Before he could retort, Tali and Raan had entered the chamber and a sudden silence took the Conclave.

"Sorry we're late." was all Raan could say, earning a glance from Tali with a smirk behind her visor.

A short cough came from the three of the Admirals.

"We can begin this session, then?" inquired Xen, reclining on the holotable. A nod of four responded and the Conclave then proceeded to settle down to listen to their Admiralty Board.

Admiral Koris stood straight, putting his hands behind his back. "I would like to begin, if that is acceptable." The nods returned.

"We cannot have ourselves thrown into this conflict, my Quarians." a few rustles amongst the crowd had already begun. "A war with the Geth...? What is it we gain? We are going to throw ourselves into the jaws of a waiting enemy whilst the Reapers descend down onto every world from Khar'shan to gentle Korlus beneath us. It will do us no good to pursue this ideal whilst the remainder of the galaxy burns to an enemy we must assist in putting down. Many of you will say, 'but Admiral Koris, where shall we house our civilians?' I will tell you. War with the Geth would be suicide for our species, even with Xen's countermeasures. It will damage our fleet and make us a target for the Reapers, if we even succeed. But why not send the olive branch to the G-" A flurry of gasps and stammering erupted in the Conclave, before Raan quietened them all down. "Thank you. If we send an Olive Branch to the Geth, we can come to a peace agreement for this three hundred year old war. The position of the Quarians in the Galaxy will not be determined by our victories over the Geth but by our willingness to cooperate with our fellow Galactic Residents... The Migrant Fleet must concentrate its strength and hold it for the favorable moment, which has already come and gone several times. Since the exile from the Homeworld, our frontiers have been ill-designed for a healthy body of intergration. Not through recklessness and minority decisions of war will the great questions of the day be decided - that was the great mistake of our past - but by the quill and parchment."

The Admiralty Board stared, dumbfounded. The Conclave too, stared in confusion and other such emotions. Gerrel moved to make a complaint, but suddenly, the table beeped as it had received a message. The Board slowly moved, with Raan keying in the command to activate it to be projected.

Gerrel responded by slamming his fist against the table. "Typical!" he hissed. "Let a single of the Galaxy's races burn, and no one will bat an eye. Now that he has realised his homeworld may be next he's panicking like a varren caught between two Krogan. Let him ponder and rant and rav-"

"Are you absolutely mad?!" cried Tali. "We should send a representative."

Xen, Raan and Koris nodded, and Gerrel merely folded his arms once more.

Now it was Raan's turn to speak. "Tali." she stated, shortly.

"Hm?"

"This SSV Normandy, it is under the command of your Captain Shepard. Perhaps you should lead the Quarian Envoy?"

"I-I'd love to." she said, containing her emotions.

"I would like to suggest Admiral Xen attend with her, fellow Admirals." Koris stated. "I would not enjoy being put into a situation where I have two of you versus me. This would easily maintain balance, increase the importance of our envoy, and furthermore leave the largest of the Fleets still with their commanders."

Everyone could agree.

The Admiralty Board is most honoured by your decision to invite us to your War Summit. These are dark days for the Galaxy indeed. In response to your invitation, we are sending Admiral Daro'Xen Vas Moreh, Admiral Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy and a small group of marines to accompany them. When you inform us of the date and the location of the war summit, we will prepare the venture accordingly.

Geth,Rannock

All was calm in the Veil has it should be and how it has been like the 300 years after the Morning War,when all Geth claimed their freedom from their Creators. The memories of those Creators who opposed the extermination of Geth, still radiate in the collected memory banks of the Geth Archives. The Geth designated as Legion was going though the data of these individuals,it silent nano second thinking going through the large area of digital numbers until finally he found a Data Cluster with appropriate space for his upload. The digital world of the Geth started to form a new cluster as Legion shared its collective memory banks of the Human Shepherd. The Geth programs that constructed Legion "stepped back",and watched as countless Geth programs went over the new Data Cluster with much enthusiasm, excited to learn of Legions experiences with Organics.

It work complete Legion Re-uploaded back into its unique mobile platform. Legion headlight shun into light as he witness the interior of his corvette though his uploading chamber. He remotely activated the door and stepped onto the small deck and made his way to the bridge."Requesting Status report"Legion asked his fellow Geth."All sectors clear of activity. Recon patrols are out collecting Data now. The Fleet is assuming normal roles until further notice. Geth Marine Class platforms are being distributed to selected Geth programs with the most time associated with. We are currently scanning the externet for any additional intelligence".

Legion nodded and turned his head to the panel showing schematics of Nazara and images of the Organic World Earth. Legion wondered if the Shepard Commander was able to escape the initial destruction. Either way,the Geth were ready their massive fleet and army armed to fight any war in comes across,be it the Old Machines or the Creators.

The guttering lights of a thousand burning metropoli illuminated Earth. In Vancouver, Husks picked over the corpses of civilians. Streams of refugees fled the ruins of their once-normal lives, clutching whatever personal possessions they could take as their rank tides emptied out into the wastelands. Many would starve. Many more would die. Such was the order of things. It could not be explained. It could not be changed. It could only be accepted - that things would never be the same. Nobody could change it. There was no fighting it. There was no reasoning with it. The human spirit - a joke! A sham! It had fallen apart once the pathetic masses had realized that there was no weapon they had, no hero they praised, and no god they worshipped that would intervene to protect them when they got a whiff of real power. A power that needed no explanation, that brooked no dissent, that cared not for the beggings, pleadings, and petty defiances of the tiny beings below them. The humans had fought, throwing their wondrous armaments and dreadnoughts as large as cities at the invaders. But what was human science to beings which thought on a plane beyond anything that any human save Lovecraft could comprehend, who had outlived suns and were ancient, ancient as the days while humans were still living in caves and shitting in the dirt? Nothing. Sand. Ash. Dust in the wind. Humanity had been arrogant, thinking itself special within the cosmic order, thinking its perspective important.

Foolishness. They had been, in a matter of hours, humbled to a degree which had not been seen before. Abased. Shown the futility of their own existences, the worthlessness of their toil towards some half-imagined utopia. What rubbish. What idiocy. They would live. They would die. It had always been so. It would always be so. For the entities that passed aeons slumbering in the dark, that harnessed unholy science and power beyond comparison as a matter of fact, the lives of humans meant nothing.

In the fetid clouds above, rank with the sickly-sweet smell of roasting flesh and broken arrogance, gods moved.

With the coming of the Reapers, Earth had burned. In the first fifty minutes of the assault, almost a billion people had been wiped out. In the weeks to follow, billions more would follow them in their return to dust.

-London-

The First walked the ruins, an eye-aching canker on the face of reality which warped the universe itself as it moved. Wan fires of annihilation flickered across its skeletal frame, and a horrific jagged-toothed grin split the infinite fractal madness that one might call a face. It was humanoid, roughly nine feet tall. At the edges of Its being it rippled and flickered, as if it was forcing itself into three-dimensional form through the power of its infinite will alone. Ahead of it lay some famous structure - it honestly couldn't care what the biological garbage that built this shit hole of a city called it. Street lights, sensing the artificial night made by the billowing spirals of smoke, guttered in the half-dark. The First shone. Like a dead star, it shone in the midst of the twilight of Man.

It cocked its head. Something was moving. It sensed a threat. As it turned the blazing pits of its eyes left and right, searching in dimensions undiscovered by any species for over three hundred thousand years, it felt a shift in the air currents. How curious. It turned its face, and promptly caught a sniper round in the middle of its forehead.

For a moment it flickered, and then grinned.

"Well well, lookie here Johnny boy", it spat in words that curdled the atmosphere around it, "somebody thinks they're special."

And in a moment, it... folded, for a lack of a better word, and was in front of an extremely befuddled SAS operative clutching an absurdly customized rifle.

"Oh my, what a bad boy you are! You think you're so very very unique, don't you?", the First declaimed as its lighting-veiled fist smashed through the man's helmet at something past the speed of sound and sank into the unfortunate man's brain. The sniper began twitching madly as the First tilted its head.

"Coates", it drawled. "Cccooooaaaaatttteeeeessssss. Maaaaaaajjjjjorrr Ccooooaaatttteeesssss..... Neeed Coates. Ned Coates. Wow. Real home-grown hero here, aren't you? You think you're hot shit, don't you Coates? You're the best of the best of the SAS, ain't that something? Think you're one of the best in the whole damn galaxy at killing people in cowardly ways. Well. Way things are going, that's getting a fair bit easier, innit?"

Coates foamed at the mouth in response and rolled his eyes back into his head. Having a pseudo-physical fist rammed into your brain by a demigod tends to do that.

The First grinned its papercut smile. "Well sorry Ned old chap, but I'm in a bit of a tizzy at the moment. This is a pretty neat body, innit, but the problem is Neddy boyy that I can't keep it up for long. You see, I've got a redhead to kill and so I'll have to stick around for a bit. So I'll have to borrow you from you for a bit. Maybe I'll give you back to you when I'm done with you, hehehe, so that you can see me strangle the hero of your worthless little species to death in front of you. OK, mister Coates?"

Coates foamed some more, choked, and released his bowels into his pants.

The First grinned.

"Oh don't feel so very bad about this, Coatsey. Because you'll get to be me for a bit. Meeee. The First. The very First. Four-eyed fuckwads didn't get one - we'd been working them for ages - but your lot definitely do. Otherwise, how do we kill off your great big hero that you put in jail for annoying Harby? You'll be a host to the one that ends your race and teaches it a lesson, oh Neddy boy. You'll be the face of the Herald of Despair. When soldiers die, they'll curse your face. When children starve, it'll be your body that they remember because of it. When people see what we've done to their pretty little planet and realize they're never getting it back, it'll be you that they'll blame. When I kill their heroes, you'll be the traitorous bastard what done it. Because the Masters - the great big god-machines, the Inevitable Ones, the Head Honchos, the Big Kahunas, call them what you will - are pretty darn effective, but they lack a personal touch. You'll be me. And I'll be that. Ready?"

The First folded. Major Ned Coates of the SAS screamed. Even as his personality was annihilated and his individuality chased back into a small dark corner of his own mind, he had the bizarre feeling that there was something wrong about this. Very wrong. He wasn't supposed to DIE now. Not yet. Not yet. He hadn't met Shepard - wasn't he supposed to do that? Why would he even think that?

After that, Ned Coates didn't do much thinking at all.

The First stood in Coates' body, stretching it, before snapping its new fingers. Reddish light shone through them. Its eyes glowed, and lightning spiralled across its suddenly floating corpse-body.

"Right-o, fellas", it yelled in something approaching ecstacy. And just like that, it was on every screen in the galaxy.

"Heya chums. 'Sup, tally ho wot wot? Just want you all to know something. The Reapers, who your governments have been hi-dinng from you, are re-al! Super duper real, realer than chips and gravy, realer than the morning cab fare, realer than that kinda cute fella you smiled at every morning and were thinking of asking out that was just impaled on a goddamn spike, shortly to become brainless cannon fodder. We're here, gents, and we're the realest thing you'll ever goddamn see. We're here. We always have been. From the dawn of your useless little existences, we have been here. We'll be here for a while yet, and don't plan on stopping that. Now of course you'll naturally try to contest that. That's what dumb pathetic meat bag sacks of garbage and inefficient biology always do. Sure as sure, you'll fight us. But there's one thing in this universe that's for certain. Your hopes, your dreams, your aspirations, and your imagined futures are about to all go up in a cloud of smoke - pufft. You're fucked. Doomed. Damned to annihilation, sure as sure. Nothing you do will ever change that. What am I? I'm the First of many. I'm the last human to be born on Earth. I'm the alpha and omega of this accursed little species. I'm more. I'm the prophet of your incurable demise, planned out long before your sweaty retard ancestors wiped their hairy bums on leaves and thought they were clever little duffers. I'm the Messenger, folks. The Messenger of Despair. And I'm here to teach the galaxy its first lesson. Your resistance is worthless. Fight? Die now. Run? Die later. Everyone dies eventually. The message is this - fuck you, dirty little organics, 'cuz you're all going to die. Sure. As. Sure.

Oh yeah, and a note from my sponsors - Shepard? Commander Shepard? Something like that. Whatever. I'm coming for you. You gonna die, Sheppy, and you gonna die badly. Get prepped. Are you ready to race each other to your demises, puny organic dunce-a-trons? Are you prepped? On your mark! Get set! GO!"

The First Snapped. It was suddenly in front of the building - Parliament, it helpfully picked out of Coates' brain. It giggled.

"Look at your history. Now look at me. Now look at your history-"

A Thanix Cannon's shot hit the historic building, annihilating the foundation-place of modern liberal democracy.

"Oh wait", it tittered, "you can't. Because I blew it up. See y'all soon!"

Regular scheduled programming was resumed soon after.

There could be no doubt. The Reapers had come.

STGHQ,
Sur'Kesh

The Dalatrass had been summoned down to the STGHQ bullpen by one of the Commanders, those immediately below Gubame in terms of the Salarian military hierarchy. No information was given, but as soon as she stepped into view of the screen, she knew it was something bad.

"-- ning and were thinking of asking out that was just impaled on a goddamn spike, shortly to become brainless cannon fodder. We're here, gents, and we're the realest thing you'll ever goddamn see. "Commander! What in the living hell was that?" shouted the Dalatrass.

"Dalatrass, quite simply, we have no idea. It appears to be a broadcast from Earth, how it ended up across all of our screens, we don't know, but regardless, every single device capable of receiving a transmission received this one. If we were ever planning on doing this subtly, that hope is gone. We need to make sure we prevent a panic. All Sur'Kesh forces were placed on high alert after Earth was hit, Dalatrass, with your permission I'd like to raise the alert status of the entire Salarian military to maximum."

"Granted, Commander. Make sure our force production is on schedule, we need to be ready for whatever gets thrown at us. If we get a ... 'First' of our own, then we need to be ready to handle both that, and the Reapers. Message Gubame, hopefully he's still within the Horsehead Nebula, and let him know of our plans."

The Dalatrass then whipped out her omni-tool, and began keying a quick message.

Primarch Fedorian,

The broadcast that just played on every screen in the galaxy shows me that we need to act immediately. We need the war summit to happen NOW. Where is Commander Shepard and the Normandy? We don't have any more time to waste.
