Suddenly a loud explosion shakes your hotel room. The lights flicker and pieces of plaster rain from the ceiling. Unsteadily you move to the window, ducking as a burst of automatic fire peppers the wall just bellow you.
As you cautiously look up, you see a large tank rolling down the road, flanked by soldiers. From the back of the vehicle flies the National Flag of Enosta. The soldiers aim their rifles at the buildings around them, looking for something. About thirty meters behind them is a small crater, which you think is probably the result from the explosion you heard earlier.
Suddenly you see a trail of smoke materialize from one of the buildings down the road, slamming into the tank and causing a massive fireball. The closest men are incinerated, while those farther away are blown to pieces or at best, thrown to the ground covered in shrapnel.

Welcome to Enosta! A small island located due east of Brazil, unknown to most people, but one of the most beautiful countries on the planet. But hidden beneath the pure natural beauty hides a dark past, filled with revolutions, shadowy deals, and a dictatorial regime, in power since the 70s. Don't let the word 'dictatorship' color your views of our nation, for our people remain largely unoppressed, and enjoy some of the third-world's highest amounts of civil rights. Not all people are so grateful though. For the past 40 years a Communist Terrorist Group known as the 'Enostan Liberation Army' has been harassing the nation since our current government came to power in 1976. Recently they've become more bold, attacking checkpoints and bombing government buildings. All foreign born citizens are advised to report to their Embassy in the event of a coup. We cannot guarentee safe travel across the country in such and event. For the safest travel please locate an Enostan Security Convoy. As you can tell already, this RP takes place on the fictional island of Enosta located in the southern Atlantic ocean, east of Brazil. More information about the island, including a map, will be found further down. Here I'll explain what this RP is about. Basically, you are a group of tourists who were vacationing at a fancy resort when the Enostan Liberation Army(Communist Terrorist Group
) attempts a revolution. Within hours, the entire island is locked in a pitched battle. You and your group must escape to the American Embassy located in the capital across the island. Along the way you will run into a lot of trouble. You may not survive. And even if you do, you will be forever changed. You may start a carefree tourist, but you will end a changed person.The Republic of Enosta

History: Enosta was claimed by Spain in the 1600s, although remained uninhabited until the mid-1700s when a group of Spanish sailors grounded their ship during a freak storm. They waited weeks for rescue, but none came. During this time they established a small village on the northwestern coast using the wreckage of the ship for building material. They named the new settlement San Ricardo after the captain of the ship Ricardo Martinez. Over the next 100 years the city grew, then more settlements popped up, and soon it declared itself an independent republic in 1857. Though, even after it declared itself independent, it was largely ignored by the international community. The only countries who acknowledged it's existence was the UK, Brazil, and the US, and that was only due to the fact Enosta traded tobacco and coco beans with the west. During both World Wars Enosta stayed neutral, and remained off the radar. In 1976 an American-backed rebel group seized control of the country, claiming the Liberal Party that had been in control for most of the nation's history, 'Communist'. This led to a new man by the name of Caesar Fernandez taking control. He was highly militaristic, conservative, and isolationist. He cut off all trade with the outside world, destroying the economy and forcing 68% of the population into poverty, while at the same time boosting Military and Police numbers and cracking down on all resistance. The next 20 years were called 'The Dark Time'. The nation was put under martial law and a complete media blackout was enforced. Cartels began setting up shop in the southern half of the island, giving the poorest jobs and the richest more money and power. Then, in '96, Caesar died when a car bomb exploded outside his mansion. No group claimed responsibility, but it is highly suspected the Enostan Liberation Army is responsible. After Caesar was killed, his son, Marcos, quickly wormed his way into power, managing to keep the nation from plunging into anarchy. He was much more moderate, and the last twenty years has seen Enosta improve relations with the world, allowing trade and travel between it and the US, EU, and even China. He also cracked down on the cartels that had become firmly lodged in the south, in a series of battles called 'The Cartel Wars'. 'The Cartel Wars' last to this day, with both Cartel and Government bodies continuing to grow by the day, and no end in sight. But with the military and police's attention diverted elsewhere, the Enostan Liberation Army gained momentum. They quickly gained more members and began stepping up their attacks. Evolving from small time protests to full on riots to bombings of government buildings.

Applications
Applications are simple, and need not be explained for an entire paragraph. Basically I will only accept one, maybe two, applications for ex-soldiers, police officers, etc. Keep it logical. You are an American staying at a fancy resort, so you wouldn't be a bum living on a street or a marine sniper freshly discharged. You'd most likely be a rich guy or gal with too much money to burn and not enough time to burn it. Or at least an average middle-class person on the vacation of a lifetime.
