Gratzovka, being a massive landmass, contains a variety of climates and environments, though, typically, the nation is a temperate state. Locked between dozens of massive mountain chains, the Gratzovkan provinces are primarily made up of temperate valleys, though, in the far south, some desert areas do exist.

However, a substantial, but not very powerful, banking sector exists in the economy, though its privately controlled corporations are limited in their risk-taking by government mandate, thus reducing possibility for failure or success.

The Gratzovkan Armed Forces consist of 9,140,000 troops, .5% of the total populace. These soldiers maintain a "partial-compulsory" military (the state, by means of the public school system identifies a necessary number of recruits every year, usually selecting them from those seen to be most fit for service of the graduating class (17 year-olds). This entails the most physically fit of the populace, while they must also be intellectually at least capable. Military service lasts only two years, in most cases, and, even then, troops are kept as reserve forces, though a certain portion of the military is always kept "ready-for-action."
