Usaimarian Government Rejects Bolshevist Demand, War Imminent

With the Communist Revolts in the nation still raging in major cites around Usaimar, our Bolshevist neighbor New Aapelistan sent the Usaimarian Government a declaration to surrender control to the Communist Party. The Usaimarian Government and our glorious Führer Marxis Schtimler has rejected their demands and declared war on them. He has ordered all reserves to report for duty within 24 hours and is calling upon the young men of Usaimar to enlist and serve their Fatherland. Within 24 hours of the call to duty by our glorious Führer, over 9,000 recruits poured into Usaimarian Recruiting depots to serve. All available units of the Usaimarian Armed Forces are being organized and prepared for battle.

Our Führer also had this to say in his speech to the nation;

Since early this morning the Usaimarian people are at war with the New Aapelistanian government of intrigue. We shall only lay down arms when this band of Bolshevist scum has been definitely and most emphatically eliminated, and the last one has left this part of the Usaimarian Nation, and that these misled people realize that they must thank their government for this situation, they must thank the New Aapelistanian Government, the greatest warmonger of all time. The Usaimarian people can enter into this new struggle with the inner satisfaction that its leaders have done everything to bring about a peaceful settlement.

We pray to God that he may lead our soldiers on the path and bless them as heroes and saviors of the Usaimarian people.

Vancouvia Assumes Protection of the International District

Congress released a statement today declaring their intent to provide for the protection of the I.D. Although the statement as a whole could be deemed quite vague, it was made clear that Congress will be stationing a portion of the Vancouvian National Army either on or near the I.D. in order to see for its safety.

Senator Logan Strzelecki, elected in the first quarter of 2015, is reported to have been the chief advocate for this declaration, stating, "It is irresponsible and inexcusable that the I.D. has gone so long without a protector. We have seen the consequences of being unprepared at previous conferences and gatherings. It is time for Vancouvia to assume a role that we are capable of assuming."

The Great Blue Fleet returned to port at Yorkford yesterday, and it is now very likely that a portion will be sent south in the coming days.

New Foreign Policy Expanded

Prime Minister Sonia Boudier gave a important speech in the National Assembly today, which explained, named, and expanded the new foreign policy that her government has embarked upon.

She began by explaining the steps taken thus far in the new foreign policy.

"Despite numerous wars and conflicts in recent weeks, ranging from the Alantania-Reynan War, to revolution in Bhumidol, and now war between New Aapelistan and Usaimar, Tuernia has remained at peace. None of our fellow citizens have been sent abroad to die, fighting for causes that are not Tuernian. My government has worked to ensure this peace, by keeping out of affairs that do not affect Tuernia."

The Prime Minister then carried on to name the policy, and explain how it would be carried forth.

"This new policy, or rather the revitalization of a policy that should never have been abandoned by my predecessors, is the Splendid Isolation of Tuernia. We have a beautiful home, and a history of neutrality. We have no interests at stake abroad, certainly none that are worth losing lives. As long as this government remains, and hopefully under any that will follow, Tuernia will retain it's independence and neutrality. We will not interfere abroad unless it is necessary to defend ourselves.

We will be reevaluating our foreign agreements, with a look to restrict them only to nations who will respect our Splendid Isolation. To that end, I believe our alliances with Verdon, Dashgrinaar, and Lithuania will be of the highest priority. Furthermore, we will be recalling all our peacekeeping forces, and will not be contributing any more of our citizens to foreign causes. Additionally, we will not be contributing any more money to the common League fund."

As Tuernia enters it's period of Splendid Isolation, it certainly heralds a change for the region. The government of Martin Allard turned the small island into the axis of the Western Isles diplomatic world. Regardless of one's opinions on the effects on Tuernia, it's incontrovertible that the old policy had a stabilizing effect on the region, which is now absent.

Meteorite crashes in Azrah!


Explosion caused by one of the meteorite fragments that landed in the streets.

A meteorite crashed in the Borat neighbourhood of Azrah, just near the outskirts of the capital, killing several and injuring dozens of residents, destroying several households and leaving the town without water and electricity for several days. This incident, however, was forecasted by several astronomers who suggested the community to make preparations and to evacuate the area for several days. The populace heeded to this call and departed for holiday to the city or the country, reducing the amount of death and injuries, with some even burning their homes in anticipation.

"This was a close one", declares Sacha Dijdane, the president of the Borat Astronomical Society (BAS), "thank goodness that people did paid attention this time and prepared for the strike, although, for those who didn't managed to destroy their households on time, I do hope that your insurance covers damage by meteorite".

King Izrem Idjout has declared that the government will provide compensations and will rebuild the destroyed homes, except for those destroyed beforehand, and that more funds will be transferred to the Meralan Space Watch Agency, in order to detect the anomalies earlier in order to reduce the amount of damage done by upcoming meteors.

The Skaralandian government in a official statement reguarding the oncomming war between Usaimar and New Aapelistan:

Skaralandian Foreign Minister Annette Bengtsdotter issued a statement calling for peaceful approach to the histilities between Usaimar and New Aapelistan. There is no need for any Usimarian or New Aapeliatanian to die, there must be some sort of understanding. Also for it to escalate so quickly makes it even more unbearable to the peace-loving citizens of Skaraland, please consider a peaceful approach. Skaraland is hereby declared as neutral in this conflict.

Many Skaralandians do not support war in any shape or form unless directly threatened, however a small precentage actually support the war. The small percentage of Skaralandians said something along the lines of "If one feels threatened then that country has every right to go to war against another." Most said that they did not support the wardespite calls for peace a war will most likely happen, it is unknown when the first contact between the two armies will start, all we can do is stand by and watch the inevitable happen.

'Ghost Town' Phenomena Strikes Again

Local fisherman Aran Yada steers his raft into the village of Ban Lan, on the island of Alam Hilang, making his bi-monthly trip from his home village of Ban Chokdi along the Byangua River to sell fish to the locals. Something is strange about this time, though. Aran notes that, as he passes the yellow sign declaring that he his entering Ban Lan, all sounds of wildlife seem to cease - not even a cicada can be heard. Tying his raft to the village dock, Aran investigates, finding, to his horror, that the entire village has been abandoned. All four hundred thirty nine inhabitants have simply vanished, with absolutely no trace or hint of what could have happened. Aran runs back to his raft and frantically makes for home.

Four days later, authorities from the island capital of Duan Rai arrived in Ban Lan and confirmed Aran's claims. Every inhabitant of the village is completely unaccounted for; there is no sign of a struggle to found anywhere in the village - in fact, every building is in immaculate condition, as if a battalion of zealous housekeepers had descended upon Ban Lan: dinnerware is put neatly away, beds are made, clothes are folded in piles in bedrooms; yet not a single living thing was to be found in the entire village, human or animal. The only thing unusual, Aran Yada told SBC, besides the lack of life in the village, was a single human skull found propped up against the well in the village square, though SBC cannot confirm this.

Everything about this incident in Ban Lan matches up exactly with incidents that occurred in the villages of Khu Ha and Muang Sung earlier this year, on May 7th and February 7th respectively, also on the island of Alam Hilang (which SBC has also written articles about, available on our website). These incidents, dubbed part of the "ghost town phenomena" by the internet, are distressing to say the least to local authorities and inhabitants of rural areas on the island. The total number of individuals missing in these incidents has exceed 800, with the Ban Lan Incident being the largest of the three so far. Local authorities and state authorities, completely puzzled by the situation, have requested the assistance of the National Bureau of Investigation. Numerous conspiracy theories have emerged as to the true nature of these events, ranging from government mind-control experiments, to zombie plagues, to aliens, but there are so far absolutely no leads.

Authorities have requested that the inhabitants of Alam Hilang's rural regions remain calm, but there has been a significant migration to the cities or off of the island altogether in the past several months.

We can only hope that the missing individuals are found safe and sound. SBC will continue delivering the latest information on these events.

Most fascists in Jagellion are Catholic, and with the war going on, anti fascist events have been sparking up around Jagellion. Beithlemm, a town dominated by Catholic fascists has been raided and massacred. With 27,860 inhabitants, 738 of those people have been pronounced dead, with 6,302 injured, 2,163 of those critically injured. 45 Jewish communist extremists stormed into Beithlemm setting businesses on fire and shooting innocent people. They kidnapped 7 women and 11 children. They burned crosses and exploded churches. They stormed into homes and took expensive valuables such as jewelry and paintings. On the town sign which is the entrance to the town, they put up a Magen David and wrote, 'Chelmow has Came', the direct translation from Hebrew which it was written in. People are now calling this attack the The Beithlemm Raid. An hour later, at 3:49 PM JNN (a news network) was hacked during a report by the same group. They call themselves Chelmow. A man in a blue ski mask and blue and white clothing appeared on the television. He warned all Catholics and Fascists to flee the nation or die. King Rikkard called for an emergency speech at 5:00 PM and this was put on all electronic devices in the nation. The speech: "As most of you know, a deep tragedy has happened in our great nation. A terrorist group full of Jewish Comminist extremists stormed into Beithlemm, a town 102 miles northeast of Tumask has been raided. All Catholics have a safe haven in New Theveste as we will pay for shelter, food, and transportation for the first three months in New Theveste. Soldiers will protect you in Greater Strolsk. Discrimination against Catholics will not be tolerated, and Chelmow must stop. Although putting soldiers in Greater Strolsk may be breaking international law, all we want is the protection of Catholics in Jagellion. A massive manhunt has been ordered to find the 7 women and 11 children kidnapped. Long Live the New Order!"

International cooperation with Vancouvia

After the Vancouvian move to protect the I.D. Consul Wessel and Ziad Grot discussed about Imperialonian support for Vancouvia. Consul Wessel and the Vancouvian parliament came to a deal and will cooperate to protect the I.D. The law passed the senate with only confessionals against (89-21).

Great-Imperialonia will cooperate with the Vancouvian National Army and will send 20 war ships. The twenty ships, all armed from the United Imperialonian Forces, will patrolling the international waters in the east. Any ship entering the patrolling area will be questioned. And may be send back with a detour.

The fleet will leave from Icle within two days and will arrive 36 hours later.

Election draws near, Two apparent front-runners

As the election of the Second Grand Consul draws closer, two of the five current eligible dukes of Verdon seem to have the most apparent interest in taking up the mantle of Johan de Lasset. The first, Philippe de Sarret, Duke of Gliesa-de-l'arbe, represents a traditional Verdonian mindset, with heavy interests in the countries noninvolvement overseas, protectionist trade, environmental preservation, and purity of culture. The other, Matheu de Rosselli, is a perfect antithesis; he supports more international involvement with friendly nations, relaxing trade laws, and most notably, establishment of public referendum on government decisions - a very popular notion, growing rapidly due to the recent success of the Civitas Algrinaari movement.

Earlier this week, The Grand Consul Johan de Lasset, made it evident that he would not put himself forward for a re-election to the position. However, in the event of a tie vote between the four voting dukes, M. de Lasset will have the deciding vote, further shaping the destiny of Verdon, one last time.

Unseasonable Snowfall in the Capital

Lotus Square, Kanchenjunga - 23:31 - Following a minor drop in regional temperatures, along with the seasonal monsoon, minor snowfall as been reported around the capital, accumulating as much as 6 centimeters in some places. Some citizens came to Sivaputhangam Palace and Lotus Square to survey the snowfall, which is unseasonable for this time of year.



Despite the unexpectedness of this snowfall event, the local KMOT (Kanchenjunga Ministry of Transportation) was well equipped to handle the situation, efficiently cleaning the streets and allowing for citizens to easily make their way around the city to get to work and school.



When all is set and done, it is expected that as much as 10 centimeters of snow may have fallen in some places around the capital. Warmer temperatures in following days are expected to quickly melt the snow, and potentially cause some minor flooding. The People's Central Military Commision has already determined that Marmana Pass should be able to remain safely open.

Breaking News: Svalbardian Forces Invade Wake Atolla

Late Thursday night reports of explosions starting to overload the worn down operations centers within Wake Atollan Police Stations. Within minutes martial law was declared around the small island and First responders were told to stay put. At this moment Atollan Police Officers would know what those reports were about, Wake Atolla was facing an invasion.

Operation Whiskey Alpha commenced around midnight on Thursday night, the government has reported that operations have ceased as over Friday the small Wake Atollan government surrendered to Admiral Xerxes of the First Fleet, and the documents were signed early this morning by the Consuls.

This Operation took place due to the fact that Wake Atolla has been a harbor for pirates and terrorism in the Wake Isles area for the past 20 years since the war that saw Svalbardian occupation of North Wake. Since then the unstable nation has been a nuisance to both Svalbardian shipping and the Svalbardian military which led to the Svalbardian government needing to take action against the rouge nation. The Consul Bellum Klark Zeltargo had made a campaign promise to directly deal with the issue of Wake Atolla, which it seems he has done. Analysts did not believe that Polar Svalbard would take direct military action against Wake Atolla, although since that has now occurred we will have to see how Polar Svalbard deals with occupation.

The Union of Covonant (UC) is celebrating its 275 Indepedence which it gained from Neburis in 1740. The day was filled which much jubilation and celebration from government officials and citizens. The day started with national televised messages from the Prime Minister Imperatus Marl who urged citizens to always remember why we celebrate our freedom and to ensure that we strive to remain free. The president Matthew Roberts encouraged every citizen to continue to build the nation and to ensure that we lead and be examples for younger nations. In the capital Coventry, the Covonantian Armed Forces were out to showcase the military might of our nation, while displaying the nations armaments and military equipments. Over in Capitoline, the largest city in the Union, the 115th Grandis Independence Day Parade was a success as millions of Covonantians lined the Triumphant Boulevard to view the floats and processions from our men and women of our Combined Armed Forces, Military bands, Girls scouts, Boys scouts, The Youths Brigade, and the Veterans league. Coming towards the end of the day, a lot of Covonantians will be out in their numbers to view the numerous fireworks that will be displayed throughout the country. A special Independence Day Concert will be held at Palatine Hill the official residence of the Prime Minister.

Today, on August 9, 2015, the Ghrael have passed the Kingdom Expansion Act, an act that will fundamentally change the Kingdoms' imperialist policies. The Piqadulle navy has sent a moderate-sized fleet to escort colonists for the North Harbor, in Nascent Islands. The fleet consists of 10 frigates, 2 destroyers, and 15 transport ships, in an effort to exert gunboat diplomacy on the authorities of the North Harbor. "We have performed negotiations on the annexation of the North Harbor, and as far as I remember, they have agreed to it, for the price of 50 million bastiels", announces Fiar Tanie, the Piqadulle Minister of Foreign Affairs. Condemnation of Bhumidol

The government of Polar Svalbard has condemned the government of Bhumidol for supporting Pirates and murderers. In the past month alone Pirates supported by Wake Atolla have killed 43 Svalbardian Sailors. When Polar Svalbard demanded that they stop supporting these Pirates, Wake Atolla told the government to stay out of their affairs.
Many citizens, especially sailors, are outraged at Bhumidol for their rash desicions.

In other news the ground invasion has begun on Wake Atolla.

Consul Eric Frenz has released this statement,

"I find it hard to believe that an "enlightend" nation would support Pirates and Murderers. I find that the international community should act against Bhumidol. We value our citizen's lives more than those of Pirates, and we will save our sailors."

Extremists Strike Back at Kanda!

This afternoon, at 5:15pm, during a speech given by President Yukari Kanda, two religious extremists posing as listeners fired several shots at the President. The shots missed the President and struck nearby Presidential Guardsmen; Andy Verro and Veronica DuWalt. During this time listeners in the crowd began to attack the two extremists before the Presidential Guard stepped in apprehending the two where they were then taken away for investigation. No official statements have been released by the Government at this time.

Dominion issues Condemnation on Polar Svalbard

Today, on August 9, 2015, the Tarpeniels of the Dominion issue a condemnation on Polar Svalbard, for their bombings on Wake Atolla, a small nation that is allegedly a safe haven for pirates. "The Dominion believes that 'pirates' aren't a good reason to bomb an otherwise harmless nation", announces Edar Cafov, one of the Tarpeniels. "More peaceful means could have been used to solve the problems with pirates, such as cooperation with Wake Atolla", he adds. "If it's for anything, the Dominion believes that Polar Svalbard is practicing unnecessary exertion of power to Wake Atolla, and thus needs to be stopped.", he finishes.

MILITARY REORGANIZES GROUND FORCES; CANCELS BRIGADES

The DFO announced today, following at least two years of planning, that it is going to reduce the number of ground combat units - but at the same time increase the number of soldiers by around 1,500.

Our correspondent for defense issues, Roland Brehles, reports that the reasons for this latest reorganization of the ground forces are the DFO's intention to put more emphasis on forward support units, and the transition of presumably 4 infantry brigades to mechanized or wheeled brigades.

The units which will be cancelled are, says Brehles, an artillery brigade (the 248th) and an engineering battalion (the 102nd); and the number of field artillery battalions in every infantry brigade will be reduced from two to one. Additionally, two armoured brigades (the 155th and the 134th) will be cancelled, bringing down the number of tanks in active service by almost 200.

Soldiers serving in these units are expected to be transferred to other units in the following months.
