Space Age
This is the master thread for for Space Age, a space opera with sandbox style role play. Whereby you are free to do whatever you wish with the idea of constructing story lines from that creativity that may impact the universe this role play is set in from small to large. Now in a bit of clarity to the term Space Opera the role play will not solely focus on melodrama, romance, or space warfare. It is simply not limited to those aspects at all and truly open to all fields of story telling. Such as purely adventure, philosophical ideas, ethics, religious matters, and all manner of social role plays.
Setting:
The setting for the role play is within the Milky Way, Andromeda, and Triangulum Galaxies with the addition of the Magellanic Clouds. Those are the absolute boundaries of the role play setting. Now most people will probably not be able to travel between them easily and it will be a costly endeavor. So do not fret about not instantly traveling to another Galaxy because that is impossible. Travel between Galaxies are meant to be difficult and limiting. This inhibits larger Empires from simply trolling about the place. The larger the Empire the more difficult it is to keep it together so to speak.
How does this work?
The role play will follow story lines developed by role players. What joins them all together is that this is an evolving universe so one story can have great effect on the rest of the universe as a whole. Let your neighbor fall may cause a power vacuum that may negatively effect yourself is but one example. Or a character tinkering with an ancient artifact may lead to disastrous results or a total boon. Its up to the community really. The IC will be one thread but it is imperative to have a header so that everyone knows what you are posting about. Further to add a story line simply submit the form below and I'll put it up here for people to take interest.

Name of Story Line: The Seradite War
Genre: Military
Premise: A alien race from the Magellanic Clouds rises to power thanks to reverse engineering Emperian technology and now threatens their colonies and are on the brink to building a portal to invade the Andromeda so they can get their crystals that they are addicted too.
Name of Story Line: The Awakening
Genre: Adventure/Military
Premise: The Rosette Nebula, once a stellar foundry of ages gone by where the progenitors of the modern Ascended crafted worlds, is showing signs of activity again. Waves of power slew off of the star-system wide contraption, a boggling enigma of half-finished planets and dead world-husks, attracting all those with eyes to see the cacophony of energy. What they will find within is certainly unknown, but this archaic relic bears investigating.
Name of Story Line:Don't Blink
Genre:Military, Adventure, Horror
Premise: On the planet of Risterios, or Elena-73, there is a legend. A legend of a statue that moves when you can't see it. A statue that has a killer touch.
You are stuck on an abandoned tomb world with the Weeping Angel. Don't blink.
This RP is meant for small military units of all nations to team up and try to survive. Ultimately, it ends when rescue ships arrive. It will traverse the tombs of Risterios, each marked by STATUES. So... Really, don't blink.
Name of Story Line: Lost
Genre: Horror, Adventure
Premise: An artifact found in the Dyson Sphere- an ancient structure created by a prehistoric alien race- sets off a mysterious event which teleports several ships hundreds of warp-years from home. As the start their long, slow crawl through the intergalactic void, tensions run high. They finally come across a passing asteroid and mine out most of its resources, only to find the eggs of an unknown species of parasite embedded in the rock. All of the eggs are destroyed- or so it seems. A scientist on board one ship keeps an egg for examination. This quickly becomes a big problem as these deadly parasites become deadlier monsters and start reproducing and killing off crewmembers.
Name of Story Line:Who, What, Where?!?
Genre: Politics, Military
Premise: The High Elenan Republic has discovered a spy deep in their midst on Gallifrey, their capital world, in the Rigel star system. They are engaging in a race to track down the spy- and challenge its master in a Great Elenan War. The story will guide a character across the Elenan worlds, chasing the spy.
Name of Story Line: Lights Out
Genre: Military, horror, adventure
Premise: Installation A-392, officially completely unaffiliated with the Eriathan Empire, has gone dark. The installation, home to a band of pirates and corsairs secretly supplied by the Eriathan government in return for them harassing any and all aliens they come across, has gone completely dark with no life signs registered anymore. The last thing known about the Installation was that it was supplied by the Imperial Military Innovation with a new pattern of combat-droids. Now, three weeks after all life signs vanishing from A-392, the Eriathan Intelligence Agency has deployed one of their agents to find out what happened...
Ice-Crackers and Bad Apples
Genre: Local Adventure/Drama
Premise: Hylind-Arlus Corporation Freighter carrying extremely precious cargo has crashed on the surface of Alberhalden, but the incredibly bad weather and looming super-storm has made recovery and exact location impossible to perform from orbit or the air, thus Hylind-Arlus has hired Alexi Salzes, an expert surveyor and Alberhalden veteran, to lead a team of specialists from across the galaxies (your characters) to retrieve whatever is so valuable from the wreckage of the Freighter, it could be the designs of a super-weapon or damning political secrets.
So basically people from any sentient race can make a living in Kazelveski, a mining colony inside a massive crater rimmed by jagged glaciers, but its not an easy life, between storms, mechanical failure, hostile fauna and raiders, combined with isolation, life in Kazelveski is a daily fight for survival.
Name of Story Line: Patient 0
Genre: Adventure
Premise: In a secret laboratory of Engian Confederacy there lies a patient recovered from a desolate star system on the edges of the Andromeda Galaxy. A signal had drawn those who would receive this person to a mountain where their worse fears seemed to come to life. But never the less the horrors were defeated and an unconscious woman was retrieved from an Obsidian-looking slab that seemed to melt away. This woman awoke approximately one year later after failed attempts at even getting a needle to pierce her skin. That all changed today when she awoke with amnesia. But only the name, Athena, rang in her head. Along with the term: Ainarphem.
This story line will bring you across the setting of this role play and possibly yield exceedingly advanced technologies into your grasp. Or horrors that may cause ruin to foes and friends alike.
Name of Story Line: Scientific Ingestion
Genre: First Contact/Military
Premise: SCU scientists are testing long-rage gateway tech over Junara while at the same time, a Vresh scouting party stumbles over the planet and the project. Will the Vresh, who were hunting for food sources, devour the SCU's colony and destroy the project. Or will the SCU stem the flow of the ever-hungering Vresh Hive?
Name of Story Line: The Best Intentions
Genre: Military, horror
Premise: An unmarked Dual Empire ship has been found by a crew of scavengers (Or military patrol). While its Dual Empire origins are unknown, the ship has no markings, the automated distress message gives no ship name or identification, only that the ship has suffered from some form of major damage, though there are no visible signs. After dozens of unanswered hail attempts the crew decides to board, common sense overridden with the promise of a massive haul of salvage from such a mighty ship. Once aboard the crew is meet only by more and more horrors as they venture deeper into the vessel.
Name of Story line: House Vs Long
Genre: Political
premise: The 2091 Presidential elections are approaching rapidly as President long come to Realize that his chances of a second term might be cut thin as the Exceedingly wealthy and powerful Robert House is the most likely candidate for long to have to defeat in the elections. A variety of issues faces both candidates from the Status of the last Oil Reserves in Alaska to how to handle the weakened but still nuclear armed china the slowing economy and the policy when it comes to colonizing other planets. But a variety of things could happen between now and election day including the planned colonization of mars by Long and possible future contact by other alien civilizations and if worst comes to worst another war with China.
