I never actually gave thought to how the Insurrectionist boarded. Most like when the ship was docked, though a shuttle is likely as well. What do you think would make the most sense?

I thought they took the crew by port. They are in militia uniforms, pose as colonial authority (For what it's worth), get on board, overpower the civilian crew, and off they go.

WIthout Nav Data they can't jump between systems. The Cole Protocol effectively ended the Insurrection as they could no longer move and coordinate between themselves.

As such I ask that you ditch the armor for other UNSC variants or SPI armor. This serves primarily to keep you from being too over powered as well.

He would have been age one when Harvest fell. The Heart of Midlothian was also destroyed with all hands on board lost. I don't think it's done so work on the bio and give him a reason for being drafted into the program.

Upon monitoring his progress in training exercises and his body and mind's reaction to the strenuous augmentations, members in the Office of Naval Intelligence singled him out as a candidate for their black operations unit, the Headhunters. However, many higher-ups in ONI disagreed with this thought, especially due to the Spartan's rebellious nature. As a result he, like the rest of his Company, was sent on the failure that was Operation PROMETHEUS. There, the entirety of Alpha Company perished, save for Thorne, who after being injured hid on the asteroid until he was rescued by an ONI prowler.

This act of near impossible survival proved to the doubting officials at ONI that Thorne was worthy of their blessing. He was listed as KIA alongside the rest of the Spartans that participated in PROMETHEUS and trained as a Headhunter alongside a handful of other Spartan III's. After many successful missions, Thorne's partner, Sasha-B103, was killed in action after the two were ambushed by ten spec-ops Sangheili. Following this mission, Thorne experienced signs of chronic depression, increased sociopathic tendencies, and a near-suicidal desire in combat situations thereafter.

In an effort to cull these psychological shortcomings yet still make use of Thorne's talents, ONI transferred him to the Memento Mori for reassignment. ONI hopes that by distancing him from his trauma in the Headhunter program, he will revert back to his previous mental state.

Joel was born in 2527 on Jericho VII, and eight years later barely escaped the glassing of the planet. His immediate family perished during the initial invasion and he only survived due to the timely intervention of a Spartan, Grace-093, who had become separated from Red Team during their mission to plant a Nuke on the planet. Grace found the young boy crouched, crying, in a small crater next to the charred remains of his family. He had minor burns running down the right side of his body and had many cuts and scrapes. The boy tried to run from the spartan when she first approached, believing her to be another covenant species. Grace easily caught up to the fleeing Joel and picked him up. She managed to calm the child down by removing her helmet and proving that she was human, just like him. Grace carried Joel back to her team and they left him with a squad of marines and continued their mission.

Joel was sent to an orphanage after he was evacuated along with the marines. The caretakers grew increasingly worried at his tales and stories from the battle. Many of the children had lost family during the war, but most had not actually seen it. The other children enjoyed his tales of the Spartans who had saved him and killed millions of Covenant. Sadly Joel had grown very cynical, despite his very young age. From the age of four he had convinced the entire wing that they were all meat for the grinder and would be thrown at the covenant once they were old enough. If only he had known how right he really was.

ONI had taken an interest in the boy, as his knowledge of the Spartan's existence made him a semi-threat to the secrecy of the project. Section Three abducted the thirteen year old and contemplated their options. They decided that the boy would make a good agent, if trained, and began preparing him for schooling at a nearby UNSC academy. The Administrators at the Academy were uneasy about training a boy of his age, but ONI 'convinced' them that this was the best course of action. The instructors were not any kinder to the boy than they were to any other recruit, if anything they were harsher and more violent. He frequently went to sleep nursing bruises and deep lacerations. For two years he trained alongside the cadets, growing bigger, stronger, and tougher. Section three believed that he was trained well enough and transferred him out of the Academy. ONI set him up with several other Agents on a black op behind Covenant Lines, it did not go well. Their mission was to plant a Tactical Nuke in an ancient ruin that the covenant were excavating. Whatever the covenant were doing there didn't matter, as long as the covenant weren't allowed to keep operating there. The team had discovered no covenant on the approach to the site, and found nothing but plasma burns and alien blood at the central excavation area. While the rest of his team set up the nuke, Joel moved to a concealed location to watch over the team with his rifle. He saw something move in the shadows and fired at it, assuming it was a camouflaged Elite. He was wrong.

The 14.5x114mm APFSDS round ricocheted off of the shadow and the entire wall seemed to move. It had been crouching in the shadows sleeping, or waiting. The creature turned and it's arm glowed a iridescent green. "HUNTER!" Joel shouted as he leaped backwards off of his perch. He fell a ways and landed on his leg and then his back, knocking the air out of his lungs. The tower that he had been on exploded in a wave of green plasma. Joel shook his head and shakily sat up. He could hear weapons fire in the clearing where his team was, and the shouts of his comrades over his radio. Joel tried to stand but felt a stabbing pain in his leg. He looked at his leg and let out a low moan, his lower leg was bent at an odd angle. He tried to stand again, this time using his rifle as a crutch. He failed again, falling onto his front. He heard, helpless as his team was slaughtered in his ears. He was able to pull himself to a good distance away out of sight of the covenant and called in the evac shuttle.

Joel was emotionally scarred from the events of his mission, leaving him unable to speak. He was sent to an ONI medical hospital for treatment of his condition, where he remained for the next three years. ONI decided that they had gotten all that they could out of this asset, and assigned him to the UNSC Memento Mori in hopes that he would be able to do a little bit more in the war; or die.

A Spartan would most likely not carry a child with them during an operation, especially considering the blood bath that happened on Jericho. He would most likely have been handed over to marine forces. Also, not entirely sure Grace was even involved in that battle.

ODST only select veteran soldiers who have already served in another UNSC branch. Though ONI could pull strings it is more likely that he'd be assigned to an Officer's academy than thrown straight into the meat grinder, which would be akin to a 13 year old participating in Navy Seal boot camp.

While the Flood has been encountered once before the Battle of Installation 04 (Battle of the Apex) they can only be found on Forerunner installations. Alright I'll change a few things, but I will try and explain myself on a few of them. For Jericho, I am assuming that Grace was a member of Red team at the time (it says that she was in the wiki, but doesn't mention her exactly). Red team's mission was to plant a nuke in the city, but they had a duty to protect human civilians as during the battle for Sigma Octanus IV. It's not the first or the last time that Spartans have gone out of their way to save civilians. I'll change it though if that's what you want me to do.

I'll change the ODST academy to an officer's one, what you say makes sense.

The ruin mentioned in the bio IS a Forerunner installation, more of an advanced research outpost though. The covenant had been digging and accidentally unleashed the flood from their containment. I'll change the prophets and elites to just the UNSC wanting to screw with the covenant, the covenant want something and Joel's team is supposed to burn it.

Sorry, wrong Red Team (was thinking Alice and them). I don't doubt that they would save civilian lives but they wouldn't be able to bring them along for an op unless they were pushing towards an evac. Going to plant a nuke with hundreds of Grunts trying to kill you with Banshee air support is not a good place to have a young kid, so most likely he would be passed off to marine forces which were operating with moderate success on the ground. A Spartan could have saved him but he most likely was passed on afterwards.

The Flood would have to be contained to a single point and even then it's unlikely that a single nuke would destroy them all. It's also likely that the Covenant would not just cut their losses and would return leading to a potential breech. I know it's conjecture but that's my thinking of Covenant strategy.
