A staffing update:

Kindly Professor Hell is stepping down from his position as Issues Tech after three years of service. His work may not always been the most immediately visible (with the exception of the new world census rankings), but he's carried out a significant amount of work behind the scenes to ensure our stats are more accurate, consistent and diverse.

Recent addition Raurosia is also retiring - unfortunately he hasn't been able to meet the activity requirements for an Editor.

Those aside, we've got some ambitious plans for expanding the Issues Editing team to ensure a more steady flow of new issues and also freeing up time to work on various projects, such as reviewing existing issues and adding new features (such as completing the industry review, or coding GA resolution stats).

As such, we're going to be looking over Issues Contest submissions again, as well as Got Issues contributors, recent authors plus whoever pays me a large bribe. If you think you could contribute to the issues team, feel free to make your case here.

Meh, just doesn't feel right to me. But I think I've come up with a name.

Draft is here:

This news is both sad for those stepping down and exciting for the available positions. I would personally like to make my case on why I could be a great addition to the team.

1. I am active. This may seem like it wouldn't be important, but the truth is that activity is important. I have been active in this forum for a long time, whether it be posting or viewing, and have learned a lot about what makes a good issue and what doesn't. Truth be told, I have had my fair share of bad draft, but who hasn't? I learned from my mistakes and authored some issues, which leads to my next point.

2. I am determined. I have made countless drafts, most were scrapped before posting, and have learned what would make interesting issues. There is no hurdle to small that I can't analyze to be better. I may not be the best at grammar (and that's a fact), but I am a lot better than the majority of the English teachers I've had in my schooling years. I've even convinced my friends to try out NS. I will try my hardest to prove that I can be as good as the other editors, even if it kills me.

3. I have unique ideas. As many people that look at my drafts can figure out, I like looking at odd events in RL and make them into a draft. I have even been serious and looked to this thread for ideas about issues that haven't been made. The fact that I look out of the box on many things means that I always look at the most possibilities and go with the one that would have the best result. That is something not everyone can honestly say. However, I'm sure everyone would agree that they like a unique sense of humor when dealing with the issues.

Those are but three reasons for why I believe that I could become a valuable asset to the editing team. I'm not perfect, I have had some run-ins with the mods, but I was just trying to make the best out of the situation. I want to make it clear that I am not bragging about myself, I am just stating my cause. I hope that this shows my interest and will to do what I must to help where I can. However, if I am not looked at as a possibility, I would understand.

I was wondering if there was going to be some official announcement, but yes, I'm now a part of the issues editing team. I'm eager to get started and I'll be on the lookout for good issues to pick up.

Congratulations, NoQ!
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Well, it had just been discussed that he had the largest number of accepted issues of anyone who wasn't already on the staff, so it's not too surprising.

It remains vacant. It was created specifically for KPH, rather than being an existing position that was filled by him. If we find someone we think would make a suitable Issues Tech, we might recruit one, but other than that, we're not actively looking to fill it.

Is there any protocol regarding how many drafts a contributor can be working on here in Got Issues? I have a draft I just posted about doorknobs, but I also have a draft I'd like to post about junk food in schools. Is it okay to have multiple drafts afloat or is it preferred that we focus on one at a time?
