His antics could have led city-states to fighting one another and starting trade wars and straining of relationships.

Instead, Spike gets off by giving a speech and attempting to put the statue back together. Why the Hel Twilight Sparkle still has faith in Spike, I have no idea.

Spike get punished? Ha! He's done everything from trying to frame an owl for mouse killing, to wrecking the town on a dragon greed binge. He never gets punished for shit.

At least the ending could be open to various interpretations, maybe he gets his punishment off screen?
