Part 1 of post incoming

Well I've decided to stop lurking and finally post for the first time on these forums. I've been reading the OOC and have liked what I've seen so far but I'm always nervous and hesitant on making first posts on new forums. Enough hesitating though, let's get on with the show.

Name: Duncan McShale
Nation Name: Lorkian
Birthplace: Scotland
Ethnicity: White
Age: 23
Pic/Description: Duncan is average in height for a man, standing at around 1.76 meters. He is of average build for the most part but is a tad thick. He has short orange hair that he tries to keep looking nice and an orange beard that he hasn't shaved in quite a long time yet hasn't grown much, barely forming a stubble.

Occupation: Camera man
Reason for being in Chicago: To find his younger brother who was attending university.

Immunity:Gifted (When he actually gets infected. For now he still hasn't been infected yet but that'll change soon)

Personality: Even when living in a world where there are flesh eating monsters, bandits, and dysentery is starting to become common Duncan still holds onto his optimism even though it is constantly tested. He tries to avoid confrontation but when pushed far enough, can fall back on his old violent ways which he tries to avoid at all costs.

Likes: Anime, whiskey cola, writing, and cigarettes
Dislikes: Hiking, violence, running out of ink and cigarettes.
Fears: Spiders, goddamn spiders.

Bio:
Duncan was born and raised in Kirkwall, Scotland and grew up in a very poor family. His mother left him early in his life due to being able to marry a rich man but left her children, never turning to look back. His father tried his best to provide but was missing an eye and could hardly find any work. To help provide for his brother and help his father Duncan turned to petty crime, extorting and stealing whatever he could. As time went on, he found himself growing to hate what he had become and the pain he inflicted on others. He left it all behind, leaving the crew he once ran with and instead focused on his studies and was able to graduate with honors.

After years of saving up, his brother and he pulled their money together and left for the U.S. to pursue further education. His brother left for Chicago for his biology degree while Duncan went to Indiana for a telecommunications degree. After getting his degree he was able to work for a local television station as a camera man, working in the field and editing video to play on air.

When the infection spread to Indianapolis, Duncan was already on the road to Chicago with only two things on his mind: Save Josh (his brother) and try not to turn into the animal he once was.


RP Examples:
Duncan watched through the cracked door as the man who entered the gas station after him walk down an isle, double-barreled shotgun in hand. Not wanting any trouble, Duncan waited for the man to turn his back so he could escape from the bathroom. As the moment appeared, Duncan quickly opened the door as quietly as he could as he left his hiding place and slid behind a bare, metal rack that had long since been looted for its sweet goodies. The boots of the other man clacked in the dim light as he begun to come closer. It was then the slowly closing bathroom door shut with a loud clack and then man turned and fired at the noise. The darkness was illuminated for a brief second as the shotgun went off, unloading on of its shells at the door leaving several new holes in the wall.

The man broke open the shotgun and cursed as an empty hull could be heard hitting the floor. Duncan only had seconds to make his move toward the store entrance and towards safety...

Please note that currently it is Day 29 and that the night before Chicago was firebombed by the USAF, with the areas most affected being centered near and around O'Hare International though other places were damaged as well, including Sears Tower which has since collapsed. Unless you have a way for surviving the devastation it is suggested you begin outside the city.

Thanks mate, I always get nervous when I join a new forum and worry about giving off a bad impression. Anyways when I get done reading more of the IC, my character will be walking out of Indiana so I think it'll mesh well with whoever was entering Indy (I forget who it is cause I have the memory of a rock).
