Not by the mods, because we're not making that call, nor are we discussing it. And no, you couldn't get me to sysop a wiki on a bet. I don't think any of the other mods (well, maybe Blaat) have any interest in positions there.
I know it's on [violet]'s loooooooooooooong list of things to do around the site. I have no idea what priority, if any, has been assigned it.

My own fault I guess, I knew I should have saved a back up

Wait, what?
Depends on what it would entail.

My guess is just be present. Kenny and I have done a good enough job of keeping the riff raff off the site and sorting out issues when they come up, but I'd like for this site to have some kind of definition going forward. If that means getting mods or administrators here on the staff, or just making them on the staff only, I'd be all for it. Whatever it takes to define this site and give it a decent enough priority where any downtimes are fixed in less than one week's time.

When the site was up, Kenny and I didn't really have many problems or issues with keeping the site clean and problem-free (as far as user interactions go). But we could probably use a mod or mods here to at least have a presence on the site, as perhaps that would solve some of the accountability issues. Heck, if they only want NS mods to staff it, then so be it. So long as it's up and running smoothly.
Personally speaking, the site's been down for over one week now, and the person who has been selected to maintain the wiki and NS++ has not provided any updates. I understand this is all volunteer, but the whole reason we set up the wiki and brought it back from the dead was because enough people cared about it and wanted to solve some of the problems we ran into about two years ago.

Just to be extremely clear here, I'm not interested at all in the user interaction part, fighting spam, etc. Only in ensuring that the site/server is up, so to speak. And that goes for the wiki, not for the NS++ project.

On the old NSwiki, sysops were the second-tier admins (i.e., Todd & myself). "Bureaucrats" were the ones who dealt with technical issues.
I have no idea what nomenclature Wikipedia uses.

I'm just going to say this right here. Many worked hard, very hard to obtain the one database we have. Many devoted a lot of their time to get the site back up, polish up the old database, and edit / transfer templates over just to get the place started. Since about November, the site has had several coding bugs that pertain to the 'internal error' messages members have been getting from time to time. The backups site remains off-line. The site has been unstable since about May (as Charlotte pointed out). Now we are having login issues.
This site needs to at least be some kind of priority with NS. There is a lot of potential with this site, I feel, and it would compliment NS especially with respect to RP databasing, sports records, gameplay history, etc. It *was* the primary source for all such things when we moved off Jolt and they removed the forums. While NSwiki did in fact lose about four years' worth of data, folks have rebuilt much of it and over time it will probably return to what it once was if it is taken care of. Yes, the site needs work. Yes, the work would need to be done by volunteers willing to donate time and effort to fix it. They're mostly internal stuff that Kenny and I don't have the ability to fix. So we'll need help in some other capacity to get this product functioning properly again.
