- Please start by introducing who your ambassador is and the "goal" your nation is hoping to achieve with these talks.

The Meeting is being held in the great city of Platherian. Located along the southern coast of Stoizzle and although not the capitol, it is the hotspot for the nations politics as well as regional affairs. Please send a few delegates to discuss the draft for the committee as it stands now to tweak and then eventually we can have the delegates sign on if interested. Each delegate will be given a townhouse to stay in with their cabinets, advisers, and bodyguards if needed/wanted. The city is to remain at peace and no ambassador shall feel threatened.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE


The Environmental Committee seeks to protect the environment and its services through careful stewardship, environmental education of the populous, political pacts and regulations.

Section 1 - Organization
The committee will consist of delegates from each member nation, four Regional Directors, and a Committee Head.

The region will be split into four areas: The Northwest, The Northeast, The Southwest, and the Southeast. These areas will be determined by the committee, seeking a balance of populous and responsibility.

One Committee Head will be elected by the committee members. The Committee Head serves to represent the committee in political affairs.

There will be one director for each area in the region. The directors are elected by their respective regional area. The directors serve to uphold committee legislation in their areas and bring the concerns of the committee members under their jurisdiction to the Committee Head.

The committee head and the area delegates will be up for reelection every month on the last day of the month. Voting will begin the day before the last day and the winners will be announced at 11:50 p.m. PST at the end of each month.

There is no limit to the amount of terms which a committee head or area delegate may serve.

Section 2 - Lawmaking
Any member nation of the Environmental Committee may propose new laws or restrictions.

New legislation of any type will be put forth for debate among member nations. Debate will end when nations agree to a motion for a vote.

Legislation will be passed when two-thirds of the committee votes in favor.

Section 3 - Tenants
The committee will encourage research of new, safe, and healthy alternatives to power and energy.

The Environmental Committee will aim to protect not only habitat for wildlife, but protect wildlife for the human use.

The committee will attempt to analyze all matters that could have an effect on the regional environment, and decide what dangers come with the action, including violation of environmental laws.

The committee will not be involved in military related affairs unless excessive use of biological, chemical, radiological, and nuclear weapons is underway.

The committee will create the first set of sanctions and guidelines and will develop new legislation over time.

Section 4 - Membership
Every nation that has decided to become a committee member must abide by any legislation passed. If a member nation is not in compliance with committee legislation, that nation will be forced to leave the committee.

A member nation may leave the committee at any time.

If a nation chooses to leave the committee but decides to return later, that nation will have to be voted in, and past record may have an effect on future membership.

Nations wishing to join after the signing date of this charter will have to apply, and the committee members will vote if the nation shall be allowed to join.

Section 5 – Laws
Project Oversight
The committee may oversee all member-nation projects that significantly alter ecosystems and will study the immediate and long-term effects on wildlife and habitat. At the behest of a Regional Director or the Committee Head, the committee may seek the permission of a non-member nation to oversee that nation’s project. A non-member nation may request that the committee oversee their project.

Mara de Sarret, along with her aid, Alain de Burges, arrived in Platherian. The flight to Stoizzle is one of the longer routes of the region, and both of the Verdonians were tired upon arrival. Mara had been selected by her father, the Minster of the Environment in Verdon, to represent their interests at the environmental council.

Protection of the environment was a matter of high priority in Verdon, especially to the Sarret family, whose legacy of conservation went back nearly two centuries. Here, they would be able to exhibit their prowess in environmental affairs.

The Kamieniec Podolskian delegate is a quiet Priest. Szymon is a lover of nature, and has devoted his life to preservation.

[Tuernia]

Jordan Lalande, Tuernian Minister for the Environment, arrived in Platherian. His two aides, Olivier Bossuet and Sara Nee, accompanied him.

This new environmental international organization was a high priority for Tuernia. As a nation who's economy relies on being beautiful, environmental protection is very important in Tuernia. Due to the small size of the country, clean energy has already replaced fossil fuels for the most part, and conservation of picturesque natural areas is paramount.

They decided to check into their town house, and relax before the meeting starts. The inform the authorities of their arrival, however, in case they wish to contact them.

Wilbur, originally the foreign affairs delegate recently transferred to the Environmental branch where he was recently granted tenur, sends a bottle of fine wine to the Tuernian ambassadors.

Qwama Ia, Environment & Natural Resources Minister, arrived in the city of Platherian. It was unusual for Mesquv to send a minister on an ambassadorial mission, but it spoke of the gravity with which the government treated the situation. While it would always take a backseat to other sentiments, the Linavian economy had a strong dependency on agriculture and tourism, and this required the careful management of environmental needs with resource extraction, a fine line that Qwama had learned to walk well over her years of service. To put it simply, she was here to ensure that a comprehensive plan was put in place that would ensure the cleanliness of the region's waters, and to ensure that the ensuing committee harbored no anti-nuclear sentiments, as they would end up crippling Linaviar's energy grid.

After a very short flight to Stoizzle, Élisabeth Renée and her aid Lilianne Amélie were ecstatic to arrive at the Environmental Committee meeting. For years her home nation had ignored the signs of the deteriorating Flora and Fauna. They prioritized the economy over the environment and had no regulations as to how big companies could treat the surrounding wild life. Finally it was her chance to change everything. Stoizzle and the P.P.U were growing closer in diplomatic ties so, president Évelyne Antoinette had agreed to let Elisabeth travel to the city of Platherian where the assembly was taking place.

When arriving at the town house Elisabeth could barely detain herself, time seemed to slowly pass by as she waited and waited for the meeting to start.

A letter had been sent out to the delegates from each of the nations.

"The first meeting shall begin tomorrow morning at 0800. Please read over the current draft of the proposal and come prepared with any additions or changes you'd like to meet. Thank you- Wilbur Stroganoff, Acting Head of the Environmental Committee"

Tali binte Asma, the Alantanian delegate, arrived at Platherian. After arrival, she goes to the town house provided for her to await for the meeting. Enviromental protect and preservation are largely important in Alantania due to it's reliance on farming and it's natural jungle ecosystem. The nation's goals also include research on clean, renewable technology and rehabilitation of destroyed ecosystems:

Wilbur wakes up early the morning of the first day of the conference. He heads down stairs after getting dressed to await his town car. Once he is picked up he goes to the Political Building and prepares himself for the day that lies ahead.

Élisabeth Renée Wakes up an hour early and starts to get ready. She looks in the bathroom mirror and starts rehearsing what she will say at the assembly. For breakfast she has a small bowl of cheerios with a banana and like that she is out the door and is being driven to the political building. The excitement she feels cannot be put into words, its her first time ever being out of the nation, and her first time being put in charge of something. One day she is an intern the next she is the new P.P.U secretary of environmental resources.

Wilbur sees Ms. Renee (sorry can't do accent marks) walking up the steps into the monumental building and he rushes out to great her and introduce himself.

"Welcome! I'm Wilbur Stroganoff, head of the Environmental Party and Stoizzle's Environmental Chief Adviser."

Nervously Élisabeth shakes his hand. "His Mr. Stroganoff, Im Élisabeth, Élisabeth Renée Secretary of Environmental Resources from The Pacific Peace Union. Its a pleasure to be here."

[Stoizzle]

"It's a pleasure to have you. Did your ride find you ok? Was your town house comfortable enough? Am I asking too many questions?"

He escorts her inside the building.

"Do you mind just waiting a bit to have a few more of the delegates arrive before we get started?"

[Alantania]

Tali, dressed in a regular business pantsuit, arrives at the conference building. Anxiously she enters the building, walking in she notices the other delgates and approaches them.

Gordon Hullan, an older man, but with lively eyes was the delegate from Dibeg to the meeting. He had just arrived by commercial plane, accompanied by one manservant and an advisor. He had already checked in at the luxurious townhouse, and he was reading over the draft agreement.
Hullan had spent many years in Desan fighting for better environemental protection, and now, by his 72nd year, he had been recognized by the government for his tireless work, and sent to represent his country at this important conference.

"Welcome all! We are still going to wait a few more minutes until the other representatives arrive. Introduce yourselves and if there is anything you need let one of the aides know and they will be happy to get it for you. Everyone prepare your notes and we will get this show on the road."

Minister Lalande arrived at the conference room, with is aides. He looked for the Stoizzle representative.

"Monsieur Stroganoff, thank you for the wine. It was exquisite."

[Verdon]

Mara and Alain arrived. The delegates were already mixing with each other when they showed up at the conference building; Stoizzle, Tuernia, The PPU. Mara, well taught by her father, was excited and confident. This was her arena, and she had everything to prove.
