The Finance Minister of Abberazzo has stated that he does not believe that the Basqolla, the Abberazzon currency, will help the economy in the long term. He has recommending forming a currency union with another nation to achieve an Optimum Currency Union. Abberazzo is now open to talks regarding currency union with any other Western Isle nation. We have quite a strong economy, so this will benefit a nation who will join such a union.

Tensions Rise Between Lithuania and Kamieniec Podolski

The Kamieniec government responded with the message,

"Did you enjoy our gift? I had it made especially for you and your sham of a royal wedding.
Did you not love the handwritten note? Written with the blood of Kamieniec Podolskians you killed?
When we fled your lands, not all of us left. Watch your back."

Minister Leon Wasilewski held a press conference about future Lithuanian actions against Kamieniec Podolski. "This is a slap in the face to everyone in the Lithuanian Commonwealth. At this moment, I cannot say anything as it is the Sejm decision about what to do about Kamieniec Podolski. We have cut off all diplomatic ties with Kamieniec Podolski. The Kamienieci government has shown they are not willing to work towards peace."

This is considered one more step towards war between the two countries. "Grand Duke Casimir is the only voice in the Lithuanian government that wants peace with Kamieniec Podolski," says political scientist Augustis Muller. "The only reason Lithuania is not at war is because the Grand Duke is holding everyone back. I am not sure what will happen after his death. No one is sure if Dziedzica Euphemia shares the same hopes of peace with Kamieniec Podolski."

In other news, the Captain of the Grand Duke's Guard, Märt Rask, has stepped down from his position. This announcement came from Minister of the Military and National Defense Tadeusz Kościuszko at 1:00 pm. "I have accepted Märt Rask's resignation. With the Grand Duke's approval, the role of Captain has fallen to Casimir Petrauskas," says Tadeusz Kościuszko.

Not much is known about Casimir Petrauskas. We do know he has risen through the ranks very quickly. In a matter of a couple of months, he was the personal bodyguard for Dziedzica Euphemia. Only the elitist members of the Guard are allowed to be personal bodyguards to a royal family member.

Assassin Found

To much shock, the assassin of Logan Goering was his oldest son, Derek! One of the dictator delegates, they think he killed his father to get the role of dictator. Derek is to face Supreme Court with aid of William Andrews. Kellie Goering will be going against her brother with aid of Jason Fredrickson.

Investigators heard rumors that they saw a man similar to his appearance swiftly pull out the gun and assassinate Logan. After an investigation during the funeral, in which Derek ignored and instead went out drinking, they found the pistol in the drawer, and the silencer on it.

This is all the information we have so far.

New Dictator

Joseph Goering is now our dictator, after intense research of relations between him and Logan, the will of Logan, and his political views, they saw that Joseph was the rightful heir to Logan.

He plans to adopt Logan's factbook idea, and even add more. His wife, Sophia, is very happy.

He also plans to make a history book, and a factbook about Remodio's leaders.

His sister, Kellie, was chosen by him to try and prosecute his brother, Derek. Derek would've been the dictator if it weren't for his act.

Vancouvian Naval Tour Begins

The Vancouvian Congress announced today its plans for almost the entire Vancouvian fleet to begin a regional tour. Following the Bhumidol Conflict, wherein the fleet saw virtually no fighting, the fleet was dispatched back to Yorkford for refueling. The fleet begins its tour of the region tomorrow, starting in a rough counterclockwise course, first heading towards the northwest sector of the region, then zigzagging south, then moving north along the western coast of the main continent, traversing through the Segentovian canal, and then zigzagging throughout the southeastern archipelagos before finally returning north around Verdon and Rontbar.

The Vancouvian Congress declared the fleet's tour to be primarily a diplomatic mission, in an effort to visit both unknown and known nations. In addition, it will be a show of force, parading the military's might throughout the regional waters. Soldiers on board the destroyers will perform the Vancouvian 72 Gun Salute upon reaching each port. Foreign dignitaries will be offered a tour of the fleet as well.

Some citizens have expressed their concerns with the dispatching of almost the entire fleet, less two destroyers which will be monitoring regional waters and protecting Illa Isle. However, the Vancouvian National Army has expressed its confidence that the tour in no way endangers Vancouvia.

Government Goes on Diplomatic Offensive

In addition to a major diplomatic victory, the successful negotiation of the Treaty of Theveste between Jagellion and Vancouvia, our government has seemingly been on a diplomatic offensive across the region, with diplomats and political leaders buzzing across the Western Isles.

Prime Minister Morgane Roatta attended the royal wedding in the Lithuanian Commonwealth, which unfortunately ended in a bomb threat. She is now giving Grand Duke Casimir a tour of Tuernia. The trip is an important symbol of the budding relationship between the two neighboring countries. The National Assembly is set to vote on a mutual defense agreement between the two later today.

President Allard is wrapping up a state visit to Vidnoye. This is one of the first state visits to the country by a foreign power. The President was presented with a ceremonial sword as a gift, and given a short tour of the capital of Pietermartizburg, before meeting with the Führer. Embassies were exchanged and the President experienced a ride in a VMW, one of Vidnoye's premier automobiles.

The trip had to be cut short, however, as Allard has yet another diplomatic engagement. This time in Bhumidol, where he is to address that nation's first democratically elected parliament.

Economic problems

For the first time in several years, the economy of Palustrine has taken a turn for the worst. A lack of exports, due to high tariffs and an overall lack of produce, has lead to the economy taking a turn for the worst, Thus, unemployment has risen from 3% to 15%. This s mainly due to farmers not being able to produce enough to make a living, and big businesses going under due to a lack of resources. This mainly affects rural areas and the government has begun to take action. Our reporters spoke with Hillel Kamot, Minister of Agriculture.

"It is true that this is due to bad weather, but also that import tariffs of other nations are too high. Because of these foreigners, we will soon be in debt, as we have begun to bail out big businesses and even farmers, as their loss is also our loss"

Civil War?

Today, when Derek Goering went to trial for the murder of Logan Goering, things started to get bad. Kellie found objections for everything he said. But then he said "My dear, I have already won." As he said, Derek pulled out his signature silenced pistol, and three members of the jury pulled out FN FNS's on the court. Derek shot the two police men watching the court quickly. The jury members yelled for everyone to stay down, and locked the door.

A helicopter with the flag down below was seen swooping down in front of Ferdinand, and picking up Derek and the men. Before leaving, he said something similar to "Democracy will rise". That, or "The mock rack sees will fry!"

Government Presents Rontbar With Demands

Following much deliberation in Parliament, the Linavian Government has publicly revealed its demanded conditions for the referendum taking place in the island of Lövsk. The demands are presented below.

The annexation of a populated territory via referendum is a matter of great importance, and as such it is the obligation of both the absorbing state and the international community to ensure that the referendum is completely legitimate. What follows is a list of demands to the Rontbari Government aimed at ensuring that the legitimacy of the upcoming referendum is beyond reproach. Failure to acquiesce to these demands will be interpreted as an attack upon the sovereignty of the native islanders, and will be met with drastic measures.

Section 1: Procedure

The procedure undertaken when conducting a referendum can greatly influence its outcome. In the interest of ensuring that the procedure presents the uninfluenced voice of the islanders, the following policies must be implemented.

• The Rontbari Government is to have no part in conducting the referendum. The referendum is to be conducted by the government of Lövsk. If no government for Lövsk exists, then the islanders are to be given a chance to form an ad-hoc referendum committee which will conduct the referendum. The Rontbari Government is to play no part in the creation of said committee and is not allowed to unduly influence the committee.
• Recognizing that the committee may be indirectly influenced by the Rontbari Government without any action on its part...
  
  • The polling period for the referendum should be sufficiently lengthy
  • Polling stations should be frequent, and provide total coverage of the island to ensure maximum participation
  • The dates on which the referendum is conducted are to be declared holidays, and should be scheduled such that they provide minimal restriction for those who's work does not conform to the declaration of arbitrary resting dates (e.g. agricultural workers).
• International observers are to be allowed access the island during the referendum, to ensure that it is being conducted properly.
• The question should be: "Should Lövsk become part of Rontbar?", and the answers: "Yes" and "No"

Section 2: Legitimate Respondents

In the interest of ensuring that the demographics of the respondents are not unduly shifted in the favour of the Rontbari Government through the employment of unethical migratory tactics, the following restrictions should implemented in determining who may partake in the referendum.

• Respondents must be residents of the island of Lövsk at the time of the election
• Respondents must have been born on the island or resided on the island for at least ten continuous years
• Respondents must meet the age of suffrage, which is to be determined by either the government of Lövsk or the referendum committee, depending upon which exists.

Section 3: In the Event of a "Yes" Vote

Should the people of Lövsk island, in a legitimate referendum, choose to be annexed, then it will be the responsibility of the Rontbari Government to ensure that the rights of the native islanders are not infringed upon. In ten years, should support be shown for succession from Rontbar by at least 1/3 of the population, then the Rontbari Government will be obligated to conduct another referendum concerning the succession of Lövsk island with the question: "Should Lövsk become an independent country?", with the answers being: "Yes" and "No"

Section 4: In the Event of a "No" Vote

Should the people of Lövsk decide to remain independent of Rontbar, then the Rontbari government will be required to recognize Lövsk as a sovereign state.

Mysterious Island

This morning, a group of Palutrinian fishermen discovered a new island, a previously undiscovered island to the north of Palustrine. The fishermen went in search of tuna when then stumbled across a small island, covered with ruins. They landed at the island and the five sailors began to look around. There they found skeletal remains of strange looking people, some remains were even nailed to walls and posts. When night fell, the sailors returned to their ship to find it in ruins. The rest of the story is unclear as only one of the sailors survived. He claims that they came under attack from monstrous like creatures, wielding sharpened bones and wearing animal hides.

A reconnaissance mission to this unnamed island is due later this week, to try to establish contact with these natives, if they exist, and to recover the missing sailors.

Government Loosens Hold on Economy

After years of a full command economy, the Verdonian government has seen fit to relinquish it's hold on the majority of the economy. This comes as little surprise to most Verdonians, who, at the start of their independence were aware of the Aristocrats' plan to stabilize the economy by control and gradually release most industries back to free market practices.

"We feel that we have progressed to a point where the economy no longer needs direct control of specific services," stated Verdon's Minister of Wealth. "While we do not plan to release all industries, we are looking for more ways to ensure the economic freedoms of Verdonians." The minister was referring to the government's control of all utilities and telecommunications, among other things, which is not likely to change. However, today's announcement marks a large step from command economy to free market, and brings hope for more free market activity in the near future.

Bhumidol Claims and Establishes Laboratory Settlement on uninhabited Pandiya Islands

16:31 BST - Vikramenshe - Just yesterday, a team of 100 Bhumhalese ecologists, biologists, and medical doctors landed on the shores of Bhumidol's newest prefecture; Pandiya Lanka Prefecture, an ecologically rich, and biologically curious island southwest of Bhumidol. Over the past month, researchers at Sri Bodhidharmma University had been pressing the EPB to pass legislation to allow them to explore, and understand the diverse ecological structure of the islands.

The Bhumhalese Head Minister, Jayalithi Bodhai, stated at a press conference to, "... not be concerned with the acquisition of the new territory", which barely measured out more than 5x10 kilometers. The EPB has made it's intentions clear to prevent human settlements that aren't for research purposes. The Bhumhalese Ministry of Defense has also been forbidden from stationing more than 100 PLDs on the islands. Large military ships, airplanes, and vehicles have been banned from being stationed within 10 kilometers of the islands.

The purpose of bringing the islands under Bhumhalese jurisdiction was to provide stringent regulations for operating research on the islands, and to protect the island's unique ecology, which scientists have estimated include nearly 16,000 species of fish, birds, monkeys, and other forms of animals not previously known to exist on other Islands.

Starting Monday, a private passenger and cargo ship will be providing transport between Sri Bodhidharmma University, Marine & Geological Institute, and Vikramenshe on the mainland. The ship will be solar and electrically powered, according to ministers at the EPB.

Lithuania Annexes the Island above Smokebyl Vane

Lithuania has sent it's Eastern Fleet to one of the islands of to the South of Lithuania (Smokebyl Vane). The Lithuania government has named the island, the Island of Vane, in memory of Smokebyl Vane.

"Due to rising tensions with The Kingdom of Kamieniec Podolski, we have moved to annex the small islands above Smokeby Vane. Our regional neighbors who surround Kamieniec Podolski have given us an okay to annex the island. This will put more pressure on Podliskian maritime borders and more pressure to ensure peace between our two nations. For the past 11 years, Lithuania and Kamieniec Podolski have had a tense relationship due to the civil war. We must put the past behind us to build a new future."

This is the statement given by the Minister of the Military and National Defense, Tadeusz Kościuszko. Many believe the Minister's speech was written by the Grand Duke. WAR of the Wake Islands!
Dibegian Frigate Sunk! Svalbardian Planes Downed! Assault on North Island a Success! Svalbardian Colonel Assasinated!

A contact inside the Dibeg Joint command has given this reporter knowledge of the current actions in the Wake Islands War. The first offensive by Dibegian forces was at the south-west island, where 12,000 troops were landed. The forces quickly set up a runway and fortified base, to be the headquarters for the entirety of the war. Tanks, vehicles and towed artillery were offloaded. Even an armored hanger was constructed for the 15 fighter jets assigned to this conflict. Damien Chang, the general assigned to the command of the land forces, did not rest after this base was constructed. He quickly advanced 9,000 troops to a forward base, at the north corner of the island. The troops were now poised for attack.
Meanwhile, Vice Admiral Jenkins was not advancing unopposed at sea. His fleet, consisting of two helicopter destroyers, his flagship battlecruiser, a frigate, a patrol vessel and a fleet submarine could not advance north without being attacked. An overwhelming Svalbardian force of 70 fighter jets screamed at the fleet. They were met with stiff resistance, and 22 were downed, however the attackers managed to sink the Dibegian Navy frigate.
As the Svalbardian forces regrouped from their heavy losses, Jenkins and Damien pushed on, landing 9,000 troops on the northern island. They began setting up a base, and were soon reinforced by troops from the Cottorian fleet.
Meanwhile, a Dibegian special operations team that had been previously landed in secrecy on the north island was ordered to advance on the main enemy base. They killed a Svalbardian patrol, and using their uniforms, were able to approach the base unharmed. They then incapacitated the gate guards, and walked into the Svalbardian commanders tent. After killing a Svalbardian colonel, and opening fire on more Svalbardian troops, the Dibegians attempted to hijack a helicopter as an escape route. A quick thinking Svalbardian was able to fire a rocket into the helicopter, and only one Dibegian man jumped clear of the explosion. He ran into another helicopter, but without the fire support of his team mates was soon captured.

For all those interested in the current state of affairs from a tactical point of view, an independent source has come up with the following analysis:
Allied forces occupy the southwest island completely, and have two strong bases. Successful land attack there is unlikely.
Allied forces are in control of the south-east island, but do not have a strong base yet.
Allied have a strong base on the south end of the north island, however the enemy's main base, which is more heavily fortified, and houses more troops, is on the north side of the island.
At sea, the Svalbardian fighter jet force is no longer dominant, as it has been reduced by Dibegian fire and is now nullified by the presence of Cottorian aircraft carriers.
The enemy still possess 19 destroyers, but they are vulnerable to air attack if moved away from the flagship carrier.

The Randmarian fleet that patrolled the area, ready to engage if challenged has not been called into action.

Civil War Threat Over

After a brief scare, Remodion forces finished the enemy off. Derek was executed this morning on The Long Beaches by sharks. His death made many people happy.

Today, 1.5 Million people came to Sewell from various countries. A rough estimate of 500,000 of then came from Remodio City to possibly escape execution for Remodion Republic support. This huge immigration made Sewell Remodio's largest city.

Island

Research on an island north of Remodio has began. Only one city, Danube, is there and it is a small port city of 30,000 people, 15,000 of which are scientists. This island is possibly becoming a province, but is currently simply a territory.

Armed Forces of Jaamar put on alert in response to crisis in the Wake Islands

LOS REYES--

Marshal Harold Ozamin of The Armed Forces of Jaamar made a public statement earlier today indicating that the Military has been put on standby in response the conflict in the nearby Wake Islands. Full details were not available at time of press, but observers have noted that troops have been recalled from various training exercises across Jaamar. The Jonas A. Tynnerman Complex is busy with activity. However, Marshal Ozamin has reaffirmed that Jaamar will not take action unless it is directly threatened by this conflict. He was quoted as saying that "We must continue as we always have. We must not fear. And we must remain steadfast".

JNS Dyrnwyn and JNS Unyielding, of the Jaamar Second Fleet, docked at Port Vandreal, has departed for Tarrjiim, rounding the horn of Liber-Graeka. It is expected to arrive at Tarrjiim within a day.

VS Thomas Sunk; Investigation Begins

During a routine patrol in the seas southwest of Vancouvia, in the area now known as the Wake Islands, at least one explosion occurred on the VS Thomas patrol vessel. A second explosion also likely occurred, but has not been confirmed. The VS Thomas was sunk and is most likely unsalvageable, while 39 crewmen on the ship lost their lives. Dozens others have major injuries, including the ship's commander, Major Harvey Bartronia, who is reportedly in critical condition following nearly drowning.

The cause of the explosion is currently unknown, although the ship was skirting the edge of a battlefield during the time of its sinking. Several military experts have concluded that the explosion most likely came from a torpedo. Although it would be virtually impossible to tell which nation fired upon the VS Thomas, the Vancouvian Congress has asked all present nations to release their military information and records, in an effort to better understand who or what attacked the Vancouvian vessel.

Citizens are in uproar over the sinking, with many concerned about the tumultuous direction the region is heading. Protests have erupted throughout major cities, as citizens question why the VS Thomas was not safeguarding Vancouvian waters when the majority of the fleet is on tour.

A military investigation has already begun and is expected to continue in the next few weeks.

The Kamieniec Podolskian Grand Canal

The Kamieniec Podolskian government has started work on a canal on the southern border. After much discussion, the Two Councils decided to call a Conditional Levy to work on the ambitious project. One million men are have been called, and will break ground within the (ic) week. (ooc, this should take 4-6 days to finish)

The canal was sold to the Two Councils as a major trading boost, as well as a further protection against Vidnoye. The canal will be located just beyond the line of forts at the border, but is still located within the border, and does not encroach on Vidnoye's land.

In other news, the harvest isn't looking good, and the government is buying preservable foods in preparation for a famine.

Road project

The Palustrinian government has announced today that Palustrine is undergoing a 20 billion dollar project to improve the terrible road conditions and to build a 800 mile long road all the way through Palustrine. The construction began on the 21st of November 2014, and is due to come to an end in a few days. Beforehand, Palustrine only consisted of flawed dirt roads that connected each village, but now the biggest motorway in Palustrine serves over 6 million commuters a day. Yes there will be more pollution, but now Palustrine is more connected, this will hopefully improve product travel and thus the economy. It has created over 2 million jobs.

One hundred soldiers and three helicopters have been deployed to the isles north of Palustrine, in search of the sailors who went missing yesterday morning. This morning, the army, as well as volunteers, mobilised over one hundred people to depart for the isles. They are due to reach there tonight. Leaving from Ulumaya, the units took to both the skies and waters, following the route that the sailors had travelled. Moore on this story as it develops.

The Missing Town; 10,000 People Disappear Overnight

11:31 BST - Vijayanagra - Officials were mystified to find the small town of Godhra, an agricultural town in the western part of Megaleya Prefecture had practically disappeared overnight, with the 10,000 people people living in it gone missing, and without a trace.

The only building that remained was the town's Jain Math at the center. All of the roads, other buildings, and much of the nearby forest were missing.

At the moment, all that is known is that the town's AI administrator was off that night for maintenance, and that the town's police agents were dispatched to a neighboring town to handle a hit & run murder that killed 11 people. It was also reported by the Bhumhalese Atmospheric and Oceanic AI that a freak-squall of intense thunderstorms enveloped the region overnight, and that turbulent conditions may have allowed for the formation of a tornado.

So far, the government has suspected the tribal and cannibalistic Hoa people may have taken the people in the town, but the government is still scrambling to figure out how the town itself disappeared. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be inquiring other neigboring nations to see if they might have any insight as to how the town and it's people disappeared. Ground drones, as well as Bh-108 agents will be deployed to the scene later today to figure out what caused the mass disappearance.

Kellington Co. Findings!

Kellington Co., the famous Uranium company in Remodio, has found a way to make edible bread from Uranium! 'It tastes of a sweetened wheat bread with a spice to it,' says subject Quincy Washington, who is perfectly fine. The Nuke-O Burrito fast-food chain will be introducing the addition of the 'Uranium Bomb', which will consist of this bread being made into tortillas, spicy beans, hot-sauce, ghost peppers, and tomatoes.

Kellington Co. has recently opened up a super market for their other products, called UraniuMart. Football! Not Soccer...

That's right! Remodio has a national sport. And it's American Football! There will be 12 teams, one for Fretchia, Jahar, Terronia(Read below), Harava, Utopia, Mansterdam, Coastor, Pompay, Ponton, Goretia, Yucin, and Mifisia. The teams are the Spartans, Lions, Lizards, Bricks, Nukes, Ingots, Spanish, Volcanoes, Angels, Beaches, Girls, and Goths. The first games will be posted below.

Terronia is Annexed!

The island of Terronia is now officially part of Remodio! It is it's own province, with Danube as it's capital. More cities are being built. Rain forests are being destroyed for more room to our growing economy! Here is a picture of Danube, Terronia.

King Calls for Investment

After colluding with the government of Vancouvia to increase humanitarian aid to Illa Isle, the King of Mubaru has called for citizens of Mubaru to consider investing in opportunities on the island. As the Royal Navy works in conjunction with the Vancouvian humanitarian effort, traffic in an almost forgotten port on the eastern tip of the island has increased tremendously. In an effort to refurbish and expand the port and the surrounding area, the King and his cabinet have called on investors to buy Royal Bonds, with compounding interest. These bonds will finance the King's plan to re-open the long isolated isle to foreign trade and commerce, and hopes to establish a long forgotten Mubassirian presence on the island.

In the first games of the Western Isles futbol league, five teams came out first, with five in a loss. In the first Dibeg put up a valiant effort but lost against Tuernia. In two very close games of 4-3 Verdon trumped Mubaru and Cottoria beat out Jagellion. There were two four to two games in which New Aapelistan beat Shancion, and finally when Polar Svalbard championed over Vancouvia 4-2.
