Amrosya Announces New Immigration Policy
Image
Checkpoints at the South Amrosyan Border
News » Amrosya » Politics

On Sunday Morning, Amrosyan Internal Affairs Chairman, Mr. Ziyad Jubril, announced a new immigration policy that will take effect in June of 2015. Act #00642-2015 states that all foreigners who have not been convicted of a violent crime are welcome to enter Amrosya as either tourists or aspiring citizens. Prior to this, high standards were imposed on those coming to visit, and immigration was hardly at a trickle, with massive costs and regulations to enter the nation as an immigrant. The Act also creates the position of "Citizenship Chairman"; previously, immigration and citizenship were left to the internal affairs, but due to an expected influx of immigrants and refugee's, a new ministry was created to lessen the burden. Border checkpoints are to remain open, however, by 2016 most of the regulations will have been phased out and it will only take a few minutes to cross the land border into Amrosya. Some have expressed concern at this, citing the threat of Amrosyan culture, religion and ideology; however, the government has dismissed these claims, stating that only good can come from increasing diversity in Amrosya. Protests are being reported in border towns and major cities, though they're reportedly peaceful and relatively minor.

This will provide a lot of economic and cultural oppurtunities for Amrosya; I'm glad the government is finally abandoning its isolationist tendencies.

Park Tae-su wins Suwon mayoral election
Image
Park Tae-su gives his victory speech

Park Tae-su of the Democratic Party won the mayoral election in Suwon on Sunday with 55.3% of the vote. He defeated GNP incumbent Cha Min-seok, who won the 2011 election due to a split in the Democratic vote.

He rallied against the Cha's handling of Typhoon Shiwon, which caused flooding, deaths, and billions of damage during the 2014 typhoon season, saying that the mayor did not care about the city's citizens, as well as for the recent scandal regarding sexual assault by one of the mayor's aides.

Until only a few weeks before the election, it was expected that Cha would win re-election due to another split in the center-left vote, but center-left independent candidate Seo Min-su dropped out of the race at the last moment, stating that Suwon "cannot allow another GNP victory."

Park promised to address still lingering issues such as housing for those who lost their homes during the typhoon, and to make Suwon a "woman-friendly city." He has advocated for more stringent laws regarding sexual harassment in the workforce, stating that women "cannot work when in an environment that fosters a constant fear of sexual assault and harassment."

QIONGZHOU FOR THE QIONGZHOUANS, XIAZHOU FOR THE XIAZHOUANS, ZHONGYANGIAN COUNTRIES FOR EVERYBODY!

Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY Zhongyangian country and ONLY into Zhongyangian countries.

Jeongmi and Hasumin are just as crowded as Sevase or Zangsabaar, but nobody says Sevase or Zangsabaar will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.

Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY Zhongyangian country and ONLY Zhongyangian countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-Zhongyangians.

What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-whites were brought into EVERY whites country and ONLY into white countries?

How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the WHITE problem?

And how long would it take any sane white man to notice this and what kind of psycho white man wouldn’t object to this?

But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the Zhongyangian race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a hashistwhowantstokillsixmillionainus.

They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-Zhongyangian.

Anti-racist is a code word for anti-Zhongyangian.

Imperial Akitsukunese Army engages insurgents in Hōten, New Territories
Image
Troops of the 3rd Infantry Division with captured Joseon Liberation Front insurgents

New Osaka, Hōten, New Territories

Last week, the Imperial Army repulsed a major offensive by Joseon Liberation Front (JLF) insurgents in Hōten province, the New Territories.

The attacks were possibly aimed at crippling local infrastructure and provoking an Imperial military response, hoping to draw international attention to the volatile region. Roadside bombs and missile launchers were used against Imperial Army vehicles as well as civilian targets, followed by the deployment of mobs of gunmen to take control of local villages. Local police forces and Imperial Army troops were also targeted for violence, along with ethnic Akitsukunese in the area.

On Wednesday, the Imperial Army launched a large-scale counterattack into the province, beginning with long-range missile strikes and drone attacks on known bases, as well as precision airstrikes on known supply lines. Troops were deployed into the province as part of a combined-arms force that systematically reclaimed the villages in the area. The remaining JLF fighters and presumably leadership fled towards the north. There were 2 deaths and 14 casualties, with an unknown number of insurgents killed. The Imperial Army 3rd Infantry Division, 4th Guards Battalion and 14th Armoured Battalion are known to have been involved.

The JLF, an illegal, well-equipped racial insurgent group, is responsible for hundreds of terrorist and armed attacks across the Greater Empire, particularly in the Chōsen region. Their stated goal is the creation of an independent Korean state, and are not known to be affiliated with any foreign power. Following the 1989 crackdown in Chōsen, the JLF moved major operations to the New Territories, though cells continue to operate within Chōsen and the Home Islands.

Prime Minister Ishihara and the Gikai condemned the JLF's actions, praising the Imperial Army for its swift response and decisive action, possibly saving hundreds of innocent lives. No official statement was released by the Imperial Palace.

International reaction to the insurgents has been mostly negative. Jeongmi's foreign minister condemned the actions of the JLF, stating that "Pride of Korean identity does not mean terrorizing the innocent. Violence by terrorist groups will only harm progress for Chosenjin, Jeongmi does not condone the JLF's terrorist actions."

Sharpening the Sword

Nationalists call for the increase of military manpower and modernization of the Zhouranese People's Army

In Ouyang, the Nationalists held a massive rally at National Square, calling for Senior Marshal Su Tanghan, the current President of the State Presidium, to increase the size of the Zhouranese People's Army, while at the same time calling for the removal of cultural-marxism and preserving cultural values and traditions.

The People's Defense Council is currently expanding the global projection power of the Zhouranese People's Army in an accelerated program. Meanwhile, Senior Marshal Fan Jiayi, current Chairman of the People's Defense Council and Supreme Commander of the Zhouranese People's Army, has made great strides in modernizing the military, replacing and stockpiling old weapons and equipment while acquiring the latest weaponry from Zhouran's defense contractors. Also, thousands of young citizens who are 18 to 22 years of age had registered themselves for selective compulsory military service and have been integrated into the military. Many high-ranking officers who are 50 years of age and above were honorably discharged in order for the military to seek young and talented officers. Because of this modernization program, more young people are registering for selective compulsory military service, and because of this, military service has become extremely popular, despite the fact that military service in Zhouran has always been popular.

Zhouran, a nation known for its intense and passionate warrior culture, only has a population of around 112,478,000 people. Despite this, the Zhouranese People's Army has about 1,128,000 active personnel and 2,030,590 reserve personnel, making it one of the largest military in the region.

Prince Haklom Murdered!

O Phaphanattavisang @ophaphana

VONG XAHN - The White Elephant Throne officially announced a year-long national mourning period with the location of the missing Prince Haklom Paphedphravinnyan Kho' Uuma, Regent of Commerce and rumoured successor to the aging Regent Extraordinaire of the East and King of the Deltalands Bouphavananh Phanakngankhai Uuma (Prince Phanakai), was found bloodied and brutalized with multiple slash wounds to the belly at in a fishing net by local fishermen in Vong Xahn.

Prince Haklom disappeared last week on Friday night at 5:00 AM from his residences in the western hills near Pakkrai. The Prince's body was discovered a local fisherman who snagged something on his line and dived down to retrieve it, only to fine the hook resting in the corpse. The unidentified man panicked and the Royal City Guard were only able to retrieve the decomposing body two hours afterwords.

A forensics team quickly identified the marks as being caused by a knife of some kind and not being the result of the infamous Bao-bao Eel that resides in the part of the river where the body was found. The body was found with clothing, in fact the prince was dressed in full regalia - it is suspected that he was stripped of his original clothes and dressed in the regalia to send some sort of message.

The Royal City Guard assisted by the Regency of Internal Affairs and the Agency of Public Order have opened a full-scale investigation into the popular prince's death. Various suspects have been detained and the Regents Extraordinaire of the White Elephant Throne issued a mandate to the Regency of Agriculture in which they ordered: "the finest hemlock procurable" - it can only be assumed that those found guilty whill be forced to commit Phithi, or ritual suicide.

UPDATE: Hidden documents uncovered by the Agency of Public Order determine that the "People's Revolutionary Party of the Lanxangkhomhô Nation", a political party in the Sapha (Parliament), militant wing the "People's Revolutionary Army" was responsible for the attack - the documents state "...future contenders to the disgusting monarchist establishment must be eliminated in order to crack the establishment from within, without a good leader they are hopeless, we hereby order the death of Prince Haklom...".

It seems the elite of the party were aware of the situation, and despite that they turned a blind eye to the operations of their militia. The White Elephant Throne issued a Royal Decree banning the PRA and all militias besides the state-sponsored Civil Defense Army. Furthermore the leaders of the PRA and the party leaders of the PRPLN have been arrested and are awaiting trial, numerous communist activists have been arrested and are all facing lengthy jail terms.

The Sapha has motioned to bar the PRPLN from participating in elections due to them being considered for "terrorist status" by the White Elephant Throne.

The Agency of Public Order has begun a crackdown on the PRA.

What Kat Cheung means for Meisaan
Image
Cheung in 2015.

5/15/2015

The second anniversary of Londrench-Meisaani pop-star Kat Cheung's hit single "Style" was marked by huge crowds screaming her famous lyrics in the narrow streets of Minghoi. Ms. Cheung is one of the biggest success stories in Tiandi's music industry, rising from the unprofitable wastelands of Wexham to international fame. Since her release of "Style" in May of 2013, Cheung has gone on to achieve even greater heights with "Blank Space", "Bad Blood", and "Welcome to Minghoi."

Although Cheung's music is predominantly in her native Londrench dialect, her songs have still gained huge followings in countries all over the World, including the recognized capital of popular music in Hapcheon. Many would consider this to be pure chance, but trends in Meisaan - and indeed the World - say otherwise.

Western culture is rapidly becoming the new "in", or "hip", for younger generations. In 1998, polls conducted in ten major Meisaani cities recorded that around 67% of participants believed Londrench and other western influences to be "detrimental" to the cultural integrity of the nation. But in 2014, the same poll company found that only 34% of those partaking in the survey found western culture to be detrimental, while 11% admitted that they themselves were westernophiles.

Experts contribute this change to a growing tolerance in eastern countries for outside cultures, and a fascination in anything unrelated to one's home country. With the ever increasing usage of the internet, especially among the younger generations, this change is to be expected. Nowadays, unlimited amounts of information are available at the touch of a fingertip, making the World a much smaller place for those who are familiar with the system. This can only be good for those rising stars in the developing World.

Indeed, Cheung's music is not only popular in Meisaani, but it is widely listened to in countries like Jeongmi, Akitsukuni, Zangsabaar, and Gaoxiong. Ms. Cheung has performed at concerts in Heian, Hapcheon, and even in a personal audience for the president of Sevatetland. This clever and, as some would say, cunning young woman has picked the perfect era for her talents to be released to the wider World, riding on the coattails of a massive cultural pivot in the East.

Defending the Akitsukuni-Zhouran border

The People's Defense Council bolsters defense in the border area following failed JLF attack in Akitsukuni
Image
A Type 12 main battle tank overlooking the Akitsukuni-Zhouran border, with a Chosen border town visible

Zhouranese locals living near the border area are worried that the insurgency in the Chosen Peninsula might spill towards the nation. As a result, the People's Defense Council has began plans to bolster defense in the area. A spokesperson from the People's Defense Council stated "we find it truly unacceptable for Joseon Liberation Front insurgents to take refuge in our nation. In order to defend our land, border defense will grow while cooperation with our Akitsukunese friends will continue."

After the Imperial Akitsukunese Army repulsed a major offensive by Joseon Liberation Front insurgents last week, militarization in the Zhouranese side of the border had increased. On Wednesday Akitsukuni initiated a large-scale counterattack into Hoten province, beginning with long-range missile strikes and drone attacks on known bases, as well as precision airstrikes on known supply lines. Following the counterattack, remnants of the JLF fled towards the north. Yesterday a Zhouranese farmer was shot by a JLF insurgent, angering the locals and nationalists. Since then, the People's Defense Council decided to increase defense and security, in order to defend the people and the nation from the barbaric savages known as the Joseon Liberation Front.

Opposition parties form alliance for 2015 general election

Image
Justice party leader Dae Gyeong-su, giving an interview above the city of Hanseong with Sun News

Hanseong - Dae Gyeong-su, the Leader of the Opposition and leader of the Justice party, has announced the formation of the Congress of Democratic Resistance, an electoral alliance that will campaign together for the 2015 elections to the House of Commons.

The five parties in this Congress include Dae's own Justice, the council-led Communist Party of Carquem, Ō Haede's Women's Struggle, the council-led Independent Socialist Party, and Hoshino Airi's League for Animal Liberation. The first three of these parties have representation in the current House of Commons, with 29, 24, and 23 seats, respectively. All five parties have strong left-wing tendencies, with all either espousing a socialist or communist ideology.

In an interview with Sun News, Dae gave two reasons for the formation of this electoral alliance.

"The current grand coalition has left voters disillusioned," Dae said, "as neither the Liberal Democratic Party nor the Workers' Party has been able to govern effectively. They are too concerned with working out kinks within their own government to hear the voices of the opposition in legislative debates and committees. As these have been the two main parties in Carquem since the unification, it is not hard to see why voters feel this way.

"However, there is hope for the disillusioned. The Congress of Democratic Resistance has been established to give more light to the fact that there is a way out of this rather unfortunate situation, by showing voters that there is a true alternative to the politically polarised coalition that was formed by happenstance four years ago."

Dae also cited a lack of previous mainstream exposure for the parties in question as a reason for forming the Congress. "All of the parties in this Congress are viewed as fringe parties, as radicals," he said, "but in truth, we are no more radical than the LDP or Workers' Party. We can truly inform voters and dispel the rumour of extremism by banding together, by pooling resources so that the truth of our policies can reach as many people as possible."

Within the House of Commons, the announcement was afforded mixed reception. Prime Minister Miura Masashi, of the LDP, was sceptical of the aims of the Congress, saying, "One may try to cover up an odor with air freshener, but the source of the odor remains," with the source of the odor being "a metaphor for the undeniable radicalism that these parties espouse." The Council of the Communist Party of Carquem (People's War) also criticised the coalition, opining, "The obvious, yet unspoken, reason for the formation of this Congress is to dilute the true ideology of these parties in order to make them more palatable to mainstream voters, and in doing so, the Congress and its members have gone away from their true ideals and consequently put themselves on the same level as the current governing coalition."

However, positive words were also spoken in relation to the announcement. Workers' Party MP Kim Yong-gi said, "This Congress will serve as a wake-up call for my own party - we need to reestablish ourselves as true to our aims if we are to compete with this coalition."

Whatever the future may hold, the formation of the CDR will certainly shake things up in this year's election.

CHAIRMAN ZHAO ADDRESSES NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ON CORRUPTION CRACKDOWN

Image
Chairman Zhao Bailong addresses the National Assembly.

XIANJING, QINYUE--
Chairman Zhao Bailong addressed the National Assembly today in the Great Hall of the People regarding the Central Disciplinary Commission and Political Security Directorate's recent moves to clamp down on corruption in the higher ranks of the Party. General Secretary Peng also made a brief statement to Party leaders in a meeting of the Party's Central Committee about the importance of adhering to the law and not abusing their positions, and on how critical it was that they aid the CDC and PSD in their search for wrongdoers.

Chairman Zhao's administration has been noted for its recent crackdown on corruption in the Party's ranks. Recent high-profile arrests include the Central Economic Planning Commission's Song Wangshi, Qinopet(the state oil company)'s Wu Jiaolong, and even the former chief of the Political Security Directorate, Zhong Baoshan. Several military officers have also been arrested on charges of corruption during the campaign, which has prompted a national dialogue on the Party's role in society and how it can continue to serve as a bulwark against bourgeois capitalism and foreign reactionaries when under pressure from corrupt officials within, and an internal dialogue in the Party about how to avoid betraying the trust of the people and ensure all Party members remain virtuous and devoted to the nation and the revolution.

Chairman Zhao had strong words for those who continue to engage in corrupt, undermining activities, calling them "the lowest form of scum" and saying that through their greed they "undermine family, nation, and revolution". He said the government would continue to aggressively pursue any and all corrupt officials across the nation, and thunderously proclaimed that whether they be small "stinging flies" or great "man-eating tigers", they would be punished for their crimes. The Chairman's speech was unusually vociferous for the normally reserved and soft-spoken Zhao, and received a standing ovation from the National Assembly. The CDC's Lin Chanming also delivered a short speech on the agency's efforts, in conjunction with the Political Security Directorate, to weed out and destroy these undercover bourgeois elements.

The Chairman's speech was viewed by many as an attempt to reach the common people and lower ranking Party members to seek their assistance in rooting out corrupt officials and appeal to widespread popular concern about high-ranking corruption, as well as a sign that the government will continue and perhaps even ramp up its fight against these hidden counterrevolutionaries. Combined with the remarks of the Central Discipline Commissioner and the General Secretary, it looks as though wrongdoers in the Party's ranks, whether they be tigers or flies, are looking at lean times indeed in the coming weeks, months, and years.

Today, the Type 52215 observation satellite was launched from Space Launch Complex No. 118, also known as the Suichang Space Launch Complex, while onboard a Type 1184 orbital carrier rocket. It will be used to provide imagery to monitor resources, land use and ecology, and for use in urban planning and disaster management.

The high-resolution imaging satellite has three cameras. A camera aligned normal to the surface of Tiandi will produce images with a spatial resolution of 1.5 metres, whilst the other two, offset at 22 degrees forward and aft, have spatial resolutions of 3.0 metres. In addition to the three cameras, the satellite carries an infrared multispectral spectrometer, with a spectral resolution of around 5.0 metres.

Outside sources claim that the Type 52215 can be used as a military spy satellite, although, because the Aerospace Defense Command of the Zhouranese People's Army Air Force already operates spy satellites with higher resolution, this claim is baseless and false.

The National Aerospace Research Directorate should spend more time sending more hangkongonauts to space than deploying boring satellites.

Protests Erupt in Kalisz over Signing of Palatine Cooperation Organization

KALISZ- Today protesters gathered in Revoluce Náměstí (EN: Revolution Square) to express their anger over the king's joining of the Palatine Cooperation Organization. It is believed that by joining this organization Litovat will have to give up her sovereignty in order to gain the protection of the larger countries in the region. Despite being told repeatedly that any protests against the PCO that disrupt regular business hours will be deemed illegal and protesters will be arrested immediately, there appears to be a large number of them present. Police have yet to arrest anyone.

UPDATE 1- Protesters have begun dissipate from the Square. Police have been ordered to remain on sight in case any violence erupts.

UPDATE 2- Ten protesters arrested after being told to remove themselves from the Square for violating laws protecting business hours. It is unclear how long they will remain in custody.

UPDATE 3- King Erik orders arrested protesters to be set free and pardons them for any wrong doings, but issues the following statement to the nation;

It is my duty to protect the wonderful people of this country and by signing the Palatine Cooperation Organization I have seen fit that we will continue to prosper as a nation. I have pardoned the protesters arrested this evening, but any further protests on the matter will be considered illegal and any person present will be arrested. Let us show the world we are not barbaric, yet we are an open people and willing to accept change. We must not keep to ourselves that which the world can enjoy; we must not be a selfish people. This matter has been closed and the as I said, any further protests on this matter will be dealt with promptly.

Premier Patricie Strnad has also issued a statement calling for calm among the people. She is seen as a more peaceful figure and as a representative of the people, so analysts hope this will further suppress any protests that may erupt in the near future. For now, all is quiet and the city of Kalisz can rest as night descends.

Campaigning Begins for Elections

Image
Prime Minister Karl Ljundberg on the campaign trail.

Østerrlaak-Aalmark: With the next general election being held in two weeks, the campaign season has officially started.

Though elections were hardly competitive during the landslide of the 2011 general election, this election will certainly be competitive, with Prime Minister Karl Ljundberg facing multiple opponents who could very well form a coalition government. Ljundberg and his political party, the National Party, is polling around 40%, which would grant the party about 81 out of 200 or so seats if these polls are accurate. The Social Democratic Party is only polling at 25%, and could only garner 53 seats out of 200 total seats.

However, with 101 seats needed for a majority, the Social Democrats could form a coalition government with the Liberal Alliance and Left-Greens if "they're lucky." The Leader of Opposition and Social Democratic leader, Freidrik Karlsson, has said that "we could oust Ljundberg and his cronies if we can energize the populace."

"I'm optimistic, I really am. I think people want progressive change after 8 years of Ljundberg. Before the centrist government we headed from 2003 to 2007, National Party was in government from 1986 to 2003. Then, they're in power again from 2007 to 2011. We call that a dominant party state in some circles. Couple that with the lowering of income taxes, the lowering of corporate taxes for corporate cronies that we've seen under Ljundberg, I am confident when I say that people want change," said Freidrik Karlsson.

Ljundberg, on the other hand, feels that "Karlsson is fearmongering", and he too is confident. At the moment, Ljundberg's National Party could form another coalition with the Christian Democrats, as they seem set to win 19 seats out of the 200 available.

"The National Party has provided stable leadership for decades, and even more stable leadership since 2007 under my watch. We got through the recession, the government will continue to exit your pocketbooks, we've protected the country from hyper-liberalism, and we've saved Aalmark from mass immigration. It'd be foolish of anyone, rich or poor, right wing or left to not vote National," said the Prime Minister.

Each party will be allocated a fixed amount of money during the campaign period, and parties are expected to travel large swathes of the nation before returning to the city of Østerrlaak for the election.

DAILY NEWS: Deadly Shootout at Santhakili Wat!
4 armed men attack worshipers at the Santhakili Wat, experts say the violence was motivated by religious extremism
24 May 2015 | By Kilayna Bu-Lao (Follow @KilaBLao_ZNJ) (ZNJ©)

Santhakili Wat is the oldest Yattapar temple still standing in Western Sangha, standing since the 16th century.

San Santhakili, Western Sangha, Zangsabaar

Earlier this morning, while over 80 worshipers prayed in the main chamber of Santhakili Wat, 4 armed men of Laturian ethnicity descended upon the holy-site, guns blazing. Witnesses report the men shouting "Death to the heathens", "Down with Satan's Temple" and "Kill the Blasphemers". Luckily, tourists on the ground surrounding the Wat called police before the first shot was fired.

At 9:22AM, the first shot was fired, followed by over 26 more. A total of 7 people, including 4 women, and 5 elderly, have been reported dead, with 18 more injured, 6 of which are in critical condition.

Police say that upon arriving they had head the fourth gunshot, and when they had reached the inner sanctum they saw worshipers fleeing, children in their arms, some openly bleeding. After ordering the attackers to lay down their arms, one officer was shot in the thigh as police returned fire, killing one gunman and injuring another. By 9:41, all 3 of the surviving gunmen were in police custody.

The San Santhakili law enforcement agency has called this "an unacceptable tragedy". When asked about the suspects, police stated that 2 Zangsabaari minors, both aged 17, were among the shooters, one of which is now dead. The other two, who's names are yet to be released, are Laturian citizens of the Pontifical States.

Zangsabaar does not have an extradition treaty with the Pontifical States, apparently due to their "inhumane judiciary, and barbaric legal system". However some speculate that the prosecution may desire extradition, as the Pontifical States do still posses state-executions, or "Capital Punishment" as some call it.

Firearms expert Yurt Hengri speculates that the firearms used in the shooting were unregistered, likely illegally shipped in from Kibetsu. Police have seized all weapons and are continuing to investigate.

Ramayathan Aung, the head-monk of San Santhakili has asked for prayers for the victims and their families, along with government security for the 28 operating Wats in Zangsabaar, fearing the violence was provoked by religion. Some analysts have speculated that the gunmen were associated with the "Opus Dei" an extremist Laturian terror organization with a fundamentalist agenda. Thus far there have been no reports of Opus Dei operating within Zangsabaar's borders, but already some have stated that the federal government needs to act on the matter, before more violent attacks occur.

Kilayna Bu-Lao is the Zangsabaar National Journal's top correspondent in San Santhakili, and has been working in journalism for nearly 15 years.

What a tragedy, it's lucky that this ancient building wasn't badly damaged, oh and that there weren't that many deaths. I hope these guys rot in prison, or get shipped back to that shithole of a continent they came from.

Too soon? Tactical Fighter Chongdaem sparks controversy over depiction of island dispute
Image
A recent episode of the anime Chongdaem: Mutually
Assured Destruction
depicted a conflict on the disputed
Dai-Kohama Island

Minato, Heian

Globally popular Tsukue-kō anime franchise Tactical Fighter Chongdaem once again courted controversy last Saturday with the airing of the latest episode of spin-off series Chongdaem: Mutually Assured Destruction, which is about humanity fighting a world war using giant robots on a fictionalised version of Tiandi.

In the episode, characters from the Empire of Nippon, based on the real-world Akitsukuni, are depicted militarily defeating the fictional United Front of Youzhou, a communist bloc often viewed as a replacement for Qinyue and other Tianqian nations. Though the killing of numerous enemy characters is standard fare for the show, this particular episode saw a large backlash amongst Tianqian expatriates from the mainland in Akitsukuni and elsewhere due to its setting, allegedly the currently disputed island of Dai-Kohama.

Said Yang Shikai, a 27-year old engineering student in the Heian Central University, "it disgusts me how attitudes in popular media continue to be anti-Tianqian, with such overt symbols proving this show to be nothing more than propaganda." 25-year old Qing Chanchong in Miyako Imperial College concurred, saying, "while I hold no grudge against Akitsukuni, this move by the media company has gone too far. The show was good when the politics were mostly fictional, now it is taking on a political angle too close to current times for comfort.

Akitsukunese viewers were also outraged as although the show depicted the Akitsukunese-based characters retaking the island, it is clearly implied that the Tianqian-based faction had conquered the island and had stationed military forces on the currently uninhabited island. Following the discovery of natural gas deposits and rich fishing grounds around the island in 1999, Gaoxiong has laid claim to the island, which lies within Akitsukunese territorial waters. Earlier this month, Akitsukunese Coast Guard ships engaged trespassing Gao fishermen with water jets to drive them away, allegedly injuring four.

Sunburst Media Company representative Tatsuko Kyōgoku denied all allegations that the popular series is taking a political slant. In a press conference, she said, "the viewers of C:MAD are looking too closely into things. All this alleged political commentary is based on conjecture... because there was a map of Dai-Kohama on the wall at around the 12 minute mark. Nowhere in the show is the island referred to as such... it has already been said that the fictional Empire of Nippon and United Front of Youzhou are not intended to be related to real nations... This is absurd, and people are grasping at straws. Sunburst has no political ties or affiliation."

Tactical Fighter Chongdaem creator Ryōga Senba refused to comment.

Tactical Fighter Chongdaem is one of the largest multimedia franchises in the world, the original show being the eponymous 1960s anime that has since branched out to numerous spin-offs. The franchise has since grown to cover print, video and games medias, as well as models and toys, generating a total of 80 billion En in revenues by 2014, enjoying global relevance and popularity. The franchise has courted controversy before, with the depiction of nuclear attacks on Qian and Jeongmian territory being the centre of the 1996 manga boycott and subsequent Manga Writers' Strike.

The episode will be aired internationally by 28th May. Sunburst has refused to edit the footage or withdraw the episode, though has allowed regional distributors to do as they like with regards to censoring the offending scenes.

I have no words. Seriously? That map at 12:25 didn't even show the island as Dai-Kohama, it was just the general region.

THIRD COMPONENT OF TIANGONG-3 SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED

Image
Arduous March-4 heavy-lift launch vehicle takes off from Jinqian Cosmodrome.

XIANJING, QINYUE--
The third component of the new Tiangong-3 space station was launched today, despite concerns it would be delayed due to the arrest by the CDC of the Deputy Director of the National Space Administration, Shen Liang, on corruption charges. However, Director Chun Aiguo put out a statement, saying, "While we are all shocked by Liang's arrest, the rest of us must continue with our duties, including the launch of this rocket." The NSA has also said it will be cooperating with the CDC and the PSD on an internal investigation.

The launch, however, went smoothly. It was the inaugural flight of the Arduous March-4, and there had been, as there is with any new rocket, concern over its proper function despite rigorous and successful previous testing. The rocket also stirred up controversy abroad, with some accusing it of being a thinly veiled attempt by the Strategic Rocket Corps to test new ballistic missile technology under the guise of civilian launches. These accusations are, of course, unfounded and ridiculous. The rocket successfully delivered the next component of the Tiangong-3 station, the station's second systems module, which also reported a successful docking with the rest of the station (previously consisting of a solar power array and a primary systems module). Qinyue's space station is unusual in that the components are not assembled by taikonauts, but rather docked robotically similar to spacecraft and then carry out final assembly independently.

When fully operational, Tiangong-3 will be one of the largest space station's in orbit, including two systems modules, a large solar power array, three docking modules, two spare habitation modules, two science modules, and a centrifuge module that will be capable of sleeping a crew of six in 1/10th of Earth gravity. Her completion is slated for 2021, when the last few solar panels are added to her array and the centrifuge is brought up to full spin. The station is intended to study the feasibility of spin-gravity systems, as well as study space-based and zero-gravity phenomenon, particularly the effects of zero-gravity and spin-gravity on plants and fish. The NSA also recently requested approval from the State Council to add a fuel module to the station, which could be used to refuel spacecraft for longer trips, such as the planned 2022 lunar expedition.

The launch also delivered a small payload of supplies to orbit, which, using a small package of maneuvering thrusters, were able to arrive at the current three-module Tiangong-2 station, delivering science equipment and foodstuffs to her crew of four.

King Erik Abdicates in Favor of Crown Prince Vladan

KALISZ- King Erik has abdicated the throne in favor of his eldest son, crown prince Vladan. Citing health complications, the elderly king has decided it is best for everyone that he steps aside and retreats to a peaceful life in his countryside palace. The royal family has released a statement addressing any concerns that may arise as the nation transitions from one generation to the next.

As the news spread that the crown prince was to become king, people flooded the streets in celebration. Many see the young prince as a way forward to a more Easternized Litovat. It is speculated that he may even grant some legislative powers to parliament, and roll back the powers of the secret police.

A sticky point of the coronation, as brought up by analysts for years, is Vladan's sexual orientation. While homosexuality was decriminalized in Litovat in the early 1950s and gay marriage has been legal since 2000, it is feared by some that a gay king will bring problems between the extremely Catholic Pontifical States and the more progressive Litovat. Clearly it cannot be for certain how the Pontifical States will react to the news and they may receive it very well, but the tiny kingdom is taking precautions nonetheless and inviting the leader of the nation to the coronation.

The palace released an open invitation to most nations of Tiandi;

To whomever it may concern:

King Erik has abdicated the throne in favor of his eldest son, Crown Prince Vladan. Prince Vladan has been increasingly picking up the duties of King Erik as the King's health deteriorated further. It is our desire to invite any and all Tiandi's to attend the royal coronation in the capital city of Kalisz on the date of the 30th of May. The coronation will be a private event reserved for only the highest members of each country's leadership, but Litovat will be hosting celebrations throughout the day and night, coming to an end on the 31st of May.

May Prince Vladan bring prosperity and economic welfare to our beautiful kingdom, and may he align ourselves with more of the policies seen in the prosperous eastern countries of Tiandi. Until then we will just prepare ourselves for a night of fun and festivities.

Resupplying Chengbao 4

Chengbao 4 space station to receive fresh supplies for crew members
Image
Type 1182-300 heavy carrier rocket in assembly building awaiting for rollout

A Type 1182-300 heavy carrier rocket, carrying supplies for the hangkongonauts currently onboard Chengbao 4, was successfully launched from Launch Site 7 in Space Launch Complex No. 112, commonly referred to as the Keshenke Space Launch Complex. This was part of the normal resupply operation to keep the space station active.

As part of the long-running Chengbao space station program, Chengbao 4 was launched on November 25, 2011, replacing the decommissioned Chengbao 3, which deorbited on February 16, 2010. The latest highly-sophisticated space station, using a vast array of highly-sophisticated equipment, will remain active until early 2037. The Chengbao program began in early 1973. Its objective is to carry out long-term research on living in space, as well as to conduct a variety of astronomical, biological and Earth-resources experiments. Following the successful launch of Chengbao 1 on May 17, 1982, Zhouran's space capabilities had increased significantly, thereby reinforcing its status as a space power.

The deployment of fresh supplies to Chengbao 4 is said to be a response to Qinyue's launch of the third component of the uncompleted Tiangong-3 space station. A spokesperson from the National Aerospace Research Directorate, the national space agency of Zhouran, stated "why would the deployment of new supplies to Chengbao 4 be a reaction to the latest space launch from Qinyue, when we are actually ahead of them in space exploration and technology development?" The Aerospace Defense Command of the Zhouranese People's Army Air Force, seeing the launch of Tiangong-3's third component as an excuse by Qinyue to test ballistic missile technologies while claiming it was for peaceful purposes, had strongly monitored the entire launch. The Ministry of National Security has been paying close attention to Qinyue's space program, especially with their space station program.

Wait, why are we so focused on Qinyue? It's better to focus on our national space achievements.

Liu435

Space is quite vast with endless possibilities, although, we might as well work together with others such as Jeongmi or even Qinyue. Sure, we may have achieved space capabilities without foreign help, but we must cooperate for the future of the human race.

Anonymous @ Liu435

We would rather work on our own than cooperate with nations who might still our national prestige. Our hard working scientists and engineers have excelled in space exploration, and I don't want to see foreigners ruin their work.

Fskal44

I love watching nations argue on who's ahead of the space race. It's like a group of little children arguing on who has a better toy.

SHELLING OUTSIDE ARGALI, NYALAN SECURITY FORCES LAUNCH OFFENSIVE

Image
Nyalan Federal Security Force soldier preparing to fire a Type-083 Light Field Gun

ARGALI, NYALA--
Extremely heavy shelling was reported Tuesday south of the Nyalan capital of Argali, as the Congress of Nations Mission to Nyala and Nyalan security forces pushed into the capital's southern suburbs, which were controlled by the Daizhud clan's ehtnic Arhaani militias. Nyalan and international forces were able to push into the region by utilizing their advantage in heavy weapons, along with limited airstrikes. The Nyalan capital has, in recent years, been home to some of the most contentious fighting in the war-torn country, as various rebel militias have attempted to seize it from the forces of CoNMN (Congress of Nations Mission to Nyala) and the Nyalan federal government. The southern suburbs, particularly the town of Docol, have seen heavy fighting before, as Arhaani militias have fought to protect this historically Arhaani area from Tedeze and Ifmura militias and also, on occasion, the army. In 2013 37 CoNMN soldiers were killed in a failed attempt to clear the militia out of the area, while the Nyalan security forces suffered heavy casualties, and last year attacks by the militias caused chaos throughout Argali as shells fell on the downtown area and the port.

Since the attacks last year, which were stopped by a campaign of precision aerial bombing and helicopter strikes against rocket and artillery positions, the CoNMN has been planning for another attempt to clear out the southern suburbs, allowing the still-evolving Nyalan Federal Security Force to develop its abilities further and acquire improved equipment. Tuesday's assault appeared to consist of a pincer movement on Docol, which was formerly a significant secondary port for larger ships such as large container ships and tankers that could not enter Argali. Docol's long docks, built during the period of stability under the Federal Republic from 1980-2005, were important pieces of infrastructure. The town was also home to a large oil refinery and had infrastructure necessary to load tankers. However, much of the refinery is either shuttered or damaged from fighting, and it has not actually operated since 2008 when rebellions in the Fashir region broke out. Docol's docks have also suffered from disuse, disrepair, and war damage.

Several human rights groups claim (likely falsely) that CoNMN's use of heavy weapons may have caused significant civilian casualties, but this is likely not true, as the artillery and air attacks were carefully targeted and many civilians had already fled the area. This is a significant coup for the Nyalan security forces, which, following continued issues in Fashir and the inland parts of the nation, have struggled to maintain morale and recruitment. The successful attack, which has as of Tuesday driven all the way to Docol, was also undertaken without the assistance of pro-government militias or large amounts of CoNMN aid, besides heavy fire and air support. The Nyalan Air Force also undertook several successful independent bombing and helicopter attacks on rebel positions. The successful offensive, codenamed Operation Black Rabbit, is now in its final stages as the last stray rebel positions are wiped out and peace and order are restored to Docol and the other southern suburbs.

Ai Fang reelected; Talks about LGBT and Women's rights

Image

Zuanshi District - Sheng Kong
by: Kanji Yoshinaga

Ai Fang, the Progressive Party's incumbent candidate, was reelected today in a landslide victory against her conservative opponent Jin Haung. Ai Fang became a symbol of progressive ideals and liberalism during her first campaign with promises of increased social programs to aid with the growing economic and social inequality among the stratas of Shengese society. The Fang administration introduced a series of popular bills that covered worker protections - introducing things such as extended maternity leave, increased benefits, and extensive healthcare reforms. This year, Fang is deciding to kick it into full gear. Upon being reelected she declared herself a supporter of the feminist movement, and stated she would be approaching issues of gender inequality in Sheng Kong first and foremost.

However, Fang also gave a direct nod to the LGBT movement stating that she would work to create more gender neutral facilities in Sheng Kong to accommodate to Sheng Kong's gender queer and transgender community. Various members of the council have voiced their opinion and are agreeing to stand behind Fang in her mission to transform Sheng Kong into a safe space for people of all races, genders, sexualities, and gender identities. The safe spaces that were created two years ago by Fang's administrations are supposed to expand rapidly across these next six years. In addition to that, plans for LGBT specific shelters are in the works.

Of course, it is speculated that there will be a slight tax hike over the next few years to support more social programs as well as Fang's proposed reform of the healthcare system, specifically the mental health branch. All in all, Fang has promised a lot to the Shengese people but will she be able to deliver? President Fang has a very strong track record which works in her favor incredibly well, however, the conservatives will ensure to provide some resistance to her across all platforms.

Polls Narrow for June Election

Leader of the Opposition, Freidrik Karlsson, looking ebullient on the campaign trail.

Østerrlaak- The polls for the upcoming election on June 7th have narrowed even further, with the governing National Party polling at a weak 39%.

The Prime Minister Karl Ljundberg remains optimistic that his party can do well. His party will win 80 to 82 seats if the polls are accurate.

"Look, in 2011, we shocked the country, maybe even the region, when we won 89 seats and 43.7% of the vote. This election, I wouldn't be surprised if another surprise is headed our way. The economy is growing, inflation is low, we are upholding the moral values of Aalmark, and preventing mass immigration. Voters pay attention to this, and when given the choice between patriotic pragmatists and young, stupid idealists, we think they'll vote for us. They'll vote National," the PM said.

The Christian Democratic Movement, the coalition partner in Ljundberg's government, is set to win 18 seats, which would be a loss of one seat from the last election in 2011. If the polls are accurate, the government coalition will win 99 out of 200 seats, two seats short of a majority.

"Alone, the Social Democratic Party is polling at 25%. This may give us 50 or so seats. However, when combined with our left-wing and centrist allies in the Liberal Alliance and Left-Green Movement, we could poll around 44%, giving us nearly 90 seats. That is short of a majority, yes, but if we can energize the populace and convince people that there is a fairer way, I think we could beat Ljundberg and his corporate cronies," said Freidrik Karlsson, the leader of the opposition and leader of the SDP.

In this election, the pressure will be on the regionalist Vrijfont, which represents Nedersprok speakers in the south of the country, to form a government. If neither alliance wins a majority, either a minority government will have to be formed, or the Vrijfront will have to join a government. As their few political positions are clearly centrist, the Vrijfront will be the real wild card.

More Cooperation and Co-Prosperity

Senior Marshal Su Tanghan calls for closer military and economic cooperation with Co-Prosperity and Strategic Defense Coalition

Today, Senior Marshal Su Tanghan, current President of the State Presidium, has called for closer military and economic cooperation with the Co-Prosperity and Strategic Defense Coalition, commonly referred to as the Co-Prosperity Sphere or the Strategic Defense Coalition. During a conference at the Supreme Hall, Su stated "because the goal of the Coalition is to promote stronger economic and military ties between member states, it is our pledge and duty as a member to call for better relations and ties with other member states."

The People's Republic of Zhouran, along with Akitsukuni and Kibetsu, are the three founding members of the CPSDC. The organization was established on June 17, 1995, during the Keijo Conference, which was also the First CPSDC Conference, in Keijo City, Akitsukuni. Senior Marshal Tan Sheng, who was President of the State Presidium from January 26, 1987 to January 26, 2002, was present in the conference, along with Chief Admiral Wei Yong, who was Premier of the Central Council from January 26, 1982 to January 26, 1997.

A large percent of the public say that Zhouran should leave the Coalition, stating that the nation is better on its own without foreign interference. Although, it is unlikely the nation will leave the organization.

I thought I was the only one who wanted the nation to leave the CPSDC.

If we leave the organization, what do we have to gain? And plus, Akitsukuni is probably our closest ally, since we both share historical ties.

Didn't Tan Sheng say that Zhouran will always keep its promise after he leaves office? Don't tell me Su Tanghan is breaking the promise.

Khibbenes may have been drinking hydrocarbon contaminated drinking water for the past 80 years

Fuel drips from a leaking containment unit excavated near Khirkhir in 2001

Khirkhir-Thuhr District, Khib -

A series of documents unveiled by inquiring citizens under the recent Transparency Act, which declassified thousands of previously secret papers and reports held by the government, point to a disturbing past in Khirkhir- and serious implications for its population's health.

The district, long the site of Khib's largest military naval base and dockyard, has been home as well to a series of four huge fuel farms for decades, the last being built in 1925. The proximity of these structures to Khirkhir's residential areas has been a source of consternation for Khibbene environmentalists for years, with repeated claims since as early as 1941 that poor upkeep of the containers was leading to their contents leaking into the sandy, island soil, which in turn was polluting the district's drinking water. Particularly, the Zhkhanht Fuel Station, the second one to be built in 1910 and the one closest to Khirkhir's less prestigious neighborhoods, has been singled out as having contributed heavily to water contamination. Military officials have long denied allegations that the fuel farms were being neglected, though in 1989 the officer in charge, Major Jhazh Mzhaar, admitted that "steps needed to be taken" to ensure that the facility remained safe. In 1991 it appeared that repairs were done to stop any leakage, as evidenced by the presence of civilian contractors in the area at the same time, coinciding with a drop in ill health among the locals.

The papers examined by the group of citizens (who have thus far chosen to remain anonymous) involved, calling themselves the Clean Water Society, seem to have uncovered an unfortunate truth about pollution within the district's water supply. According to a previously classified report dating from 1951, the first fuel leak was recorded to have occurred in 1935- and it was the Zhkhanht facility that failed. The amount of spillage was redacted and it says nothing of cleanup efforts. The assumption from this is that the spilled fuel product was allowed to freely seep through the island's grainy soil and down into the water table. A whole slew of documents ranging over the last 80 years report spillages, primarily from Zhkhanht, often with similarly scant references to whether or not the leaks were contained. Worryingly, many of these reports reference documents which remain entirely classified, some of which on the surface appear to pertain to the effects of the contaminated water on Khirkhir's population, implying that the government has been very much aware of the issue. Some have alleged that the Ministry of Health specifically has been allowing leaks to occur in order to study their effects on human life.

Khirkhir, originally a small port on the outskirts of Khib proper, grew into a sprawling suburb over the years, and is today an area of huge income inequality, with the highest poverty rate in the nation. It has also been the district within the city with the highest rate of individuals afflicted with terminal disease since the 1960s. According to the citizens who cooperated to examine and collect information on the issue, this is a direct result of toxic chemicals leaching into the affected's water supply.

No government officials have yet commented.
