The Smilie Improvement Project

The smilies here leave a bit to be desired. I think we need to spend some time contemplating them and possible alternate smilies.

I rely on them for establishing the tone of my text. People can't hear writing and smilies nuance text and help convey the intent of my musings(usually to cause as much neurological trauma as possible).

Surely we need these?

As much as I don't like the current smilies here that much (the oval thing is really annoying), most of the suggestions are not going to happen. I doubt anything much larger than what's already there or things that move around a huge amount will get implemented. So if anyone has alternatives that are more serious changes to the types already in place, that would be nice. Like a :P smiley that doesn't just look like an open mouth...
